Han Bul Korean BBQ
522 7th St, Santa Rosa, CA 95401, United States
A great find in Santa Rosa - we went during their soft launch/opening, and the experience proved a strong debut. Service was excellent with very attentive wait staff. Food was detectable, and seems to me quite authentic based on my experiences at other Korean restaurants around the country. Beautiful decor complete with string lights, Korean modern art, and kpop in the background. Several TVs with sports were mounted above, but they seem a little out of place. We had the beef Dol Sot bibimbap and Kalbi Tang. Came with 10 side dishes and a steamed egg on the house. The Kalbi Tang was tasty, but the Bibimbap stole the show. The only criticism of the Bibimbap I have is that it was missing a fried egg. Side dishes included familiar favorites like Kim chi, bean sprouts and carrots, pickled radish, and fish cakes, but also rather odd additions like a macaroni/corn salad, steamed broccoli, plain celery, as well as an apple/cucumber fruit salad. I’ve never seen the black bean side dish before, but that one I’ll give a pass because it may be a Korean side dish I’m simply not familiar with.Very large portions and definitely worth it for the price. They gave us 25% off for paying with cash. Will definitely return!

First, let me start off with the only downside of my visit. I understand inflation has hit everyone, but the portion size vs. price of the item was off.Now the positives. When we arrived we were instantly greeted with a friendly smile. After being seated, it was a very short wait for our waitress to come to our table. Our drinks came out immediately and our appetizer showed up not long after. We ordered the fried mandu (dumplings/potstickers). They were beautifully golden brown and came with a nice dipping sauce. It also came with a mini salad (lettuce and dressing) which I loved the taste of the dressing. The main course came out pretty quickly after we had eaten the dumplings. We ordered the daeji bulgogi (spicy pork) which is served sizzling hot over a bed of onions. I was underwhelmed by the amount you get for the $23 price tag, but it still was enough for one petite person, not sure it would fill my husband or older daughter up. That being said the pork was tender, spicy, and piping hot. I happily burnt my mouth as I had been anticipating it all day.The ban chan was tasty, I wish there were a bit more variety. The kimchi was great, not sour like most restaurants served, which I loved that it wasnt. The cucumber kimchi was also tasty with just a hint of sweet. The other three were the fish cakes (they all taste the same to me, bean sprouts (again pretty basic) and a shredded potato (underwhelming). It would be nice to see some spicy shredded radish kimchi, danmuji, or even something like broccoli added to their ban chan. Just a note, they charge $1 per extra ban chan (refill) you want, which really isnt too unreasonable.Another thing, I wish they offered more rice to start with. I found thar my rice was almost gone when I still had a 4th of my spicy pork left. It just wasnt enough to enjoy with both the pork and the ban chan. I am sure you can ask for more at an extra charge. This is definitely not a budget friendly place, but none of the korean restaurants I have been to are. When we went to leave we were bid a friendly farewell by the family who runs this place. Not every korean restaurant has such friendly staff. I am half Korean and can say that I have been looked down at by some of them.Overall I do love this place, but as for my budget I might need to dine alone next time.

Thank you to all of the reviewers, we also loved this delicious, clean, friendly restaurant! Everything was super fresh, delicious and carefully presented, plenty of food. Hot food was piping hot and Chirashi Bowl was full of fresh, nice & cold sashimi. Just an FYI; the Korean vegetable pancake while delicious is a bit greasy and tea very flavorless (pass on tea). Restaurant, tables, seats, all plates and cups were modern and super clean! The restaurant has large flat screens on each wall to watch sports (golf/soccer were on 02.13.24).Thank you so much!!!Photos;-Chirashi Bowl-Korean Vegetable Pancake-2 Item Bento (Tonkatsu & Tempura)
Kamura Sushi
3800 Sebastopol Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95407, United States
Some of the best sushi Ive ever had!My 2 girlfriends and I went at 6pm on a Monday night and had no problem getting a socially distanced outside table. There were 2 other parties dining outside while we were there, but there was plenty of space between us, and the server wore a mask the entire time.We split the garlic edamame, Hamachi sashimi, and 3 rolls: the 49er, the Sebastopol, and the M.D.The Hamachi was delicious and fresh, though I thought it strange that it had thin slices of tomato on top. The garlic edamame was salty and covered in lots of soy and minced, charred garlic. The sushi rolls were all very fresh tasting and stuffed with all the great ingredients, not skimpy at all. They also had a ton of toppings and just the right amount of sauce. We surprised ourselves with how fast we devoured them all, and it was just the perfect amount of food to be full, but not stuffed. The service was extremely fast and our server checked on us often, refilling our waters each time, as it was warm out and we ordered spicy rolls.I just found my new favorite sushi spot in Santa Rosa and will definitely be going back!
Zoftig Eatery & Catering
57 Montgomery Dr, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, United States
Very industrial space that could use some warming up. Plenty of space between tables but not many tables for two and nowhere to sit at lunch because singles or pairs were at larger tables. I found the seasoning to be much too sweet and that was really disappointing and unexpected. Fries were good (oil smelled a bit old but they were hot and crispy), Korean burrito was very sweet and literally half cold/half hot as if they only warmed half of it, Israeli salad was also very sweet but I should have told them to omit the mango sauce. I'm not sure we would go back but if we do I will order off the make your own salad menu and can be selective that way. Two drinks, two mains, and an order of fries were about $55 before tip. Our food was delivered with a 15 minute wait between entrees. We had to ask for the rest of our food.
Quick Sushi Santa Rosa
2500 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, United States
When I went into the restaurant was small and homly I was unsure as I got there I ordered in a touch screen there is also cashier that also takes order. And I order the Aki power if you a big tempura fan as I am and a bento called rainbow bento. Then I was unsure of giving the receipt to the chief so I had told him he said yeah I got it the order. As the lady was serving me and a family member she was very nice and sweet (gentleman) if you want to take your girl to a restaurant this is the one.Tempura was fresh the rainbow platter which had the crab melts in your mouth. They also do ramen noodles and fried chicken if you are not in to cold foods or fish I was very thankful for this experience.
Aji Sushi & Grill
2360 Mendocino Ave A-1, Santa Rosa, CA 95403, United States
Aji Sushi and Grill is a formal and informal (depending on your mood) Asian cuisine restaurant located on Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa. It is apart of the Mendocino Market Place which is a plaza area. There is handicapped parking as well as wheelchair accessibility to the restaurant.I think this place was a bit over priced, but their food was pretty good. I had ordered the unagi nigiri and my guest had the ramen. The unagi nigiri, which is barbecued fresh water eel, had a lot of flavor and melted in my mouth. I enjoyed their white rice. I loved the seaweed that came on the side, so crunchy and moist. The celery and yellow fruit was a nice touch. My guest had mentioned it wasn't the best ramen he's had, but it was pretty good. They do have vegetarian options like cucumber rolls and more. I loved how at the end of the meal when they gave you your check they also give you the little Asian yogurt drinks. So creamy and nice touch for the customers! They are definitely kid friendly as there are plenty of families that dine here. The servers there were attentive and polite.I loved their choice of decor. I had tried this restaurant around the holidays and they had a very simple yet sophisticated look to their choice of Christmas decorations. To the beautiful people of Sonoma County and visitors abroad I would definitely give Aji Sushi a try. It was good food, but one time may be enough. I wouldn't come here frequently based on their prices.
Shogun Japanese Restaurant
1531 Farmers Ln, Santa Rosa, CA 95405, United States
12/16/2023 @ 11:50AM, For first visit to this Japanese eatery to try out with my sister. We both ordered lunch special bento box. Sister ordered beef teriyaki tempura combination, beef were processed meat horrible and tempura were not presentable and two sides in which first one is shredded lettuce with mayonnaise mix dressing needs improvement and one more side is lightly soaked in hot water tasteless beansprout. My order was tonkatsu thin sliced pork 1/4 thick breaded and deep fried were not too bad and kappa (cucumber) roll were a OK.I wish could rate much higher score but cooking processed meat is not way to serve in prominent restaurant like Shogun. Also those two side came with box needs improvement.I have suggestions, visit Honey Cuisine in Rohnert Park and order beef, chicken or pork Korean bbq lunch special (for under 18 dollars) which comes with steamed rice and salad (its a salad should be) with Honey Cuisines house salad dressing (its really tasty, one of best in Sonoma County Asian eateries) might learn something ?
Bird & The Bottle
1055 4th St, Santa Rosa, CA 95404, United States
I visited here thanksgiving weekend with my boyfriend. We both love creative food, especially cocktails, and this place was OFF THE CHARTS. I can’t put in words how great the food and drinks were, coupled with lovely service, but I’ll try! Definite 6/5 in my opinion. This restaurant is tapa oriented, so be prepared to try lots. Ambiance is romantic casual, which blends perfectly for a nicer date night through a fun dinner with friends/family.Food: I’ll focus on the big winners for us: Shrimp wontons, chicken fried oyster lettuce wraps, acorn squash, pastrami tacos (A-MAZING), and skirt steak. Generally speaking, anything with that Korean chili butter was heaven! All meats were perfectly cooked and juicy. Flavours were deliciously blended and not overwhelming. The only item we didn’t love was the matzoh ball soup—nice broth but wanted more.Drinks: The drink menu appears to rotate somewhat frequently. I can’t recall the 5 cocktails we tried between us both, but know I loved near every one.
