Gaya Korean Tofu & Grill
4817 Torrance Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
This is probably only Korean restaurant with regular menu in Torrance. I had a mixed feeling when they open after previous Korean style Chinese restaurant closed. I used to go there quite often. I stopped by here for lunch yesterday and tried Soondae(Korean sausage) soup and I was happy. Good flavor. Banchan(Side dishes) were also good. They were not too salty or sweet. Portion was also good enough. Im going to try Gamjatang next time and kinda waiting for it at the moment. Im glad we finally have a restaurant up to par in Torrance.
Palsaik Korean BBQ

My three daughters and I came here for my youngest daughters bday. When we arrive we were the only customers there, so we were sat quickly and attended to right away. I mentioned to our server Emily that we had never been to a Korean barbecue before and she was more than happy to let us know how it worked and what was our best options for our party size. We ordered the beef combo family meal (not sure if thats the name on the menu) and it had lots of food and filled us up nicely! The kimchi here is mild and amazing, Im so happy its not crazy spicy like other Korean restaurants, and the kimchi soup was perfection! Also worth mentioning, the beef was if very good quality. So maybe within the first 30 mins after we ordered the place became packed! People just started pouring in and they easily had about ten tables to attend to, and it seemed two servers were sharing the floor. The owner also came out to help. They were all very friendly and helpful. The only problem I really had was with one item I ordered. Since we dont eat much pork I decided to only order one strip of pork meat for us to try out and share. After getting our food I reminded one of our servers, she wasnt Emily and I didnt catch her name, that we ordered some pork, she told us no, we only ordered the beef combo. After telling her we did in fact ask for some pork she left our table. I thought she might bring it over, but instead within 15 mins of that she came back to turn off our grill and briskly walked away. By then I knew we were not going to get our pork.If you expect to spend less than $100 to feed a family of four, well you definitely need to go elsewhere. But for the quality and quantity of food you receive here, the prices are very fair. I will definitely come back again when I have some money to spend on a very nice family outting.
BCD Tofu House
1607 Sepulveda Blvd, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
Enjoyed dinner here with family! Its apparently a popular dinner place; we had to wait 20 minutes or more for a table.Just like traditional Korean restaurants, this place serves little plates of appetizers to accompany rice meals. They are called banchan. For our Banchan, they served us a couple kimchees, a little crispy fish for each person, a mung bean plate, a radish thingy, and a tofu plate.I had the Hot Stone Bibimbap Combo (Tofu) with Seafood Soon Tofu . The hot stone bowls cook rice so that the rice touching the bowl turns crispy - I loooove crispy rice!My son had the Galbi Combo (BBQ Shortribs) which he says was excellent. He also ordered a Korean beer.I ended up taking home my leftover Bibimbap Rice which I had the next day. It was still really good!
Kimbap Paradise (Torrance)
1585 Sepulveda Blvd H, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
Kimbap restaurant in Torrance! Love it. Different selections of Korean kimbap as well as some awesome wings and cold noodles. The food is good here. Great for groups, delicious, and nice owners. After your meal grab coffee or Korean cafe beverage and fancy desserts at Cafe Bene just a few doors down. Typical Korean shopping plaza with a pool hall, traditional Korean restaurant, kimbap restaurant, and a Cafe Bene. Felt like I was in Seoul all over again.
Ko Ryo Jung Korean BBQ

To summarize this large paragraph this place doesnt look anything like the photos (it was small and looked dirty). When my friends and I came in we were discriminated against, perhaps because were young, or perhaps because were young women. We noticed after being there for a few minutes that although we werent allowed to sit in the booths (that could hold 4 people) the older men (that came later than us) were. (Do note that they dont hold reservations).First of all, this place looks NOTHING like the photos. Recently went here a few days ago with a couple friends and upon entrance we were treated terribly. When we came inside it was around 4 and only two other groups were there with us. This group of older men and a family of around 6 to 8 people. We had three people, and when we asked to sit in the booth the waiter had to ask the boss if we were allowed. The boss said we could only sit in the wooden chairs. (Just a little extra side info: we called ahead to ask if they had reservations and they said no.) We didnt understand why we could not sit in the booth, but compliantly sat down in the wooden chairs. The grill was already in there so we dont know how long it was there because when we tried to cook the meat it kept sticking, and this was with our first plate of meat. We barely put two pieces of meet on and it was already sticking to the grill as if it hadnt been oiled well enough. The meat started to burn and fire started blazing out of the grill after only a couple minutes. We were initially going to leave because we felt like this place was just a scam. It looked nothing like the photos posted by the owner. We only stayed because of how hungry my friends were. After eating for a few minutes we saw these two men come in and they got to sit in the booth. What happened was extremy unfair and the owner was probably discriminating against us due to how were young women. (I dont believe everyone is discriminating against me because Im a woman, but probably because my friends and I are younger.) Even so, we are still paying the same price as every other person that walks into that restaurant and it was unfair that we were not allowed to sit in the booth which could hold 4 people and that the 2 older men were allowed when we had to sit in the cheap seats. Never coming back, if it werent for the decent waiters we wouldnt even have left a tip.

I dont want to invest too much more time or energy to this joke of an establishment, but people deserve fair warning - I would give zero stars if possible. I took my boyfriend here for a nice dinner after a very long day, hoping for a pleasant, new experience. We not only Recieved the opposite, but were so offended at the quality of service that Ive complied a list of points to consider before visiting here.1. If you are brown skinned, African American in particular, do not come here. The mediocre food is not worth the lousy service laced with racism. Ill come back to this later.2. The food is, as previously stated, mediocre - to be generous. We started with appetizers to wait for the main course, but the main course was never ordered due to the horrendous quality of food and presentation. My shrimp fried rice was lukewarm and gummy, the ramen was literally maruchan top ramen and it was all served with stale Tostitos accompanied by a skimpy dish of sloppy salsa.3. My water was not once refilled, and when i got up to ask the waiter for a refill & Sriracha sauce, he came back to my table 10 minutes later empty handed and said Oh sorry, I thought you said Tabasco. At first, my boyfriend and I looked at each other in confusion, wondering if there was some subliminal racism in that comment, when all of a sudden, a ratchet hood song started blasting from the speakers. We could clearly hear unapologetically loud laughter coming from the kitchen where the staff was gathered. Disgusted by the whole atmosphere, I approached the front desk for my check, where the hostess stood. As I neared, she made eye contact with me, turned and left the counter, where I waited 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge me. When paying, the clerk tossed my change on the counter instead of putting it in my hand as if I was a leper. This place does not deserve your patronage or hard earned money, and it will certainly never again have mine. Take your support someplace where they actually care about their guests.Shame on this establishment.
Jin Kook Restaurant
16300 Crenshaw Blvd #106, Torrance, CA 90504, United States
Yesterday, I bought and ate 4 servings of Jingguk Seolnongtang, but I guess the owner changed it or he came at closing time and almost all of it was gone. Maybe I mixed it with water, but the soup was so watery that I couldnt compare it to the first one. In addition, there was very little dried meat, and the radish kimchi and kimchi came first. It was wrong and tasteless. I ate it earlier, but I thought I would never eat that restaurants food again. I was so blinded by the tasteless, half-hearted, sugar-sweetened soup that it cost so much that I was thinking of making money by selling such poor food. I hope that customers will reflect on what they think.
Katsu Nuna
21305 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
I was staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Torrance, and there was a Korean supermarket there, so I stopped by, found this restaurant in the food court, and decided to take it out and eat it at the hotel.Since it was my first time, I chose a simple set with the name of the shop Katsununa.Approximately $16 including consumption tax.The tonkatsu was a bit flimsy, but it came with plenty of sauce like you would find at a Western restaurant, and there was also miso soup, rice, cabbage, and pickled radish. It was delicious and my stomach was full.
Flame Broiler
2024 W Carson St, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
This establishment thrives off of quality and taste. Its unfortunate I didnt find it, after I ordered the tofu veggie bowl... however, The Clean environment and promptness of the service here is exceptional. The dining area is small and can feel a bit cramped to most however its well-kept. The same can be said about the outside, plenty of parking on both sides of the shop. *getting into the parking lot from both streets is practical. The food taste is questionable: as per to the tofu and veggies bowl, the veggies and Tofu...they need to be more *flame broiled for a much better taste and the vegetables are steamed I dont like steam vegetables and I hope you do... they would taste better if they were stirfried with a touch of sesame seed oil and hint of garlic...this would make an exception dish for vegetarians. As far as the Tofu goes, it needs to be more flame broiled to a crisp if need be for a more robust taste, right now it tastes soft and mushy and not very palatable. Still though overall it was a great experience, staff members are well behaved and quite friendly.
ONON - Fresh Korean Kitchen
24427 Crenshaw Blvd E, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
I highly recommend it. Its really delicious. It is not spicy and has a healthy taste that is very faithful to the ingredients. Its healthy, but the original taste of the ingredients is still alive. The portions are plentiful. This is a highly recommended restaurant. I had the Guama Lemonade and it was refreshing and delicious without being too sweet. My child ate all of the fried shrimp, saying even the tail was crispy. The owner was very kind, and I was worried about which sauce to choose, but he let me taste them one by one, so I was able to enjoy it even more. The kimchi fried rice base is also delicious!!This is a steamed restaurant.
