T K Noodle

I dont really want to remember my experience there. In this difficult time I was waiting to have a delicious Chinese food. Last week we was looking for a place we know, but unfortunately that place is closed now. So we looking for a near place and was the reason what we came there. So I ordered my food, and then we were waiting about 25 minutes, then the lady who took my order call me and giving me a wrong order. I told her am sorry but this is not my order I orden something different, she told me you orden this you dont remember what you order. OMG I asked for my money back and she refused to give the money. I really never had a service like this. I dont know how at this difficult times some people dont care about their customers. They have to understand customers gives business

Elays Oriental Store

I just stumbled into this place earlier today & let me tell you, this is exactly what gilroy needed. Staff was friendly, store was well stocked with our favorite Filipino snacks, noodles, fresh veggies and breakfast meats. They carry a pretty good selection of magnolia ice cream too. I was also told they also have Valerios bakery products but do sell out fast. Im so glad I found this place!
Saigon -2- Siam Bistro
1280 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
Very popular crowded tiny shop with a few tables and a line running through them. Essentially a takeout place. The food was uneven, mostly bland but terrific grilled meats like their satay. Weird textured spring rolls, mushy inside with no discernable flavor, pad thai with dry brittle noodles and bland sauce. Good peanut sauce. Weak fish sauce. Good chili sauce. Generous portions. Not bad, just bland. Parking got very tight.
Ten Japan Japanese Restaurant
1340 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
An izakaya-style Japanese restaurant.I had miso ramen during my lunch visit. The quality of the noodles was a bit soft, which left me feeling a little unsatisfied, but the soup and toppings were delicious. Its a rare pure Japanese shop near Gilroy, so if youre shopping at the outlet and youre having trouble finding a meal, this might be the place to go. I wanted to sit at the counter and have some sushi while talking to the chef.
Westside Grill
8080 Santa Teresa Blvd #100, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
I was heading from Gilroy to Morgan Hill to go to lunch but and acquaintance of mine told me about Westside Grill, “sozz” I decided to check em out. Immediately after you walk through the doors there is a reception area “they seat you” In front of that is a dining area and to the right is a full bar with seating “separated from Dining area via a wall with glass”The waitress and servers were super attentive and friendly. After being seated at a booth I noted a bad smell “ like urine in a bathroom, you all know that unmistakable smell” I was honestly thinking to myself, what have I gotten my self into? But after about 10 min I noticed the smell had went away?!! Weird. They use paper straws only upon requesting a straw. “ sorry all you environmentalist but I cannot stand paper straws, guess next time I'll bring my PLASTIC straw”I asked the hostess what she recommended? she said the salmon fish tacos. When the Salmon fish tacos arrived, I was taking a back by the size and the amount of food given. They certainly do not skimp when presenting you with a meal. The waitress also asked if I would like a side of their homemade salsa? I said sure, let me tell you folks that was the best decision I made all day, their salsa is absolutely amazing.....,well maybe the second best decision I made all day because the Salmon fish tacos were also super delicious and amazing, with slaw, avocado, a slightly smoky bean dipping sauce, and perfectly cooked blackened Salmon, this dish hit all my yummy buttons and begged me to come back for more. Overall I think 4 stars is well earned and I most certainly will be back for more.
M Noodle & Cafe
6945 Monterey Hwy ste d, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
Was in Gilroy the other day with pops and its been a while since Ive tried a new Phò shop so I pulled out my phone and started surfing the ol interweb when I happened upon M Noodle and Cafe “on Yelp of course” after reading some of the reviews and looking at some great pictures we decided to hit this place up.First thing I noticed when we walked in is the place was packed (good sign) we were seated right away. Other things I observed were they had dollar bills taped around the walls “honestly I thought it looks very tacky” and the place doesn’t looks as clean as it could be. Deducting 1 star.Food: I ordered The combination wonton rice with steak noodle soup comes with chicken, pork, shrimp, and beef balls. Now I noticed that it did not come with big beef flank yeah that’s what I got in it? Don’t get me wrong I love beef flank. Unfortunately the beef was WAY over cooked. Everything else was stellar, especially the broth “not kidding” I can’t remember the last time I had broth this good. “Notes to self, next time ask for raw beef flank on the side” the size of the bowl was G-eye-norm-us!!! I think this is the first time in my life I was not able to finish what was in the bowl. “ I did however slurp down every last bit of that delicious broth”Pops had 1/2 chicken with fried rice “again a huge plate” he managed to devour over 90% of it. He gave it 2 num num’s up.As part of the meal they also serve you
Sweet Sicily
1280 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
If you love good pastries or have experience baking, this place is not for you. We ordered their raspberry eclair which consisted of a bland choux pastry and pink tinged sugarless whipped cream. The only thing that made this raspberry flavored were the fresh berries on top. We also ordered their “Italian Ho Ho,” which again, tasted like nothing. The exterior appeared to be dark chocolate, but had zero flavor. No sweetness, no bitterness, nothing. I'm convinced they used dark brown candy melts instead of actual chocolate. The coating was also about a 1/4” thick and could seriously break a tooth. The inside wasn't any better with a light brown sugarless whipped cream and mystery brown sponge that again, tasted like nothing. Just skip this place and go to Safeway.UPDATE:Please see the owners response and decide for yourself whether this restaurant is someplace you want to support. Theres a right and wrong way to respond to negative comments and clearly he doesnt know how to do this. Not even an apology and instead he chooses to bash my taste.Try learning some manners. And if your chocolate is such high quality, then perhaps it tastes like nothing because its something youre doing wrong. Maybe too much cream since this seems to be the only ingredient you like to use in your Italian desserts.
Garlic City Cafe
7461 Monterey Hwy, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
On our way traveling past Gilroy, we decided to sample their famed garlic at some local establishment. Garlic City Cafe proudly proclaims the theme in its name, so we headed there for lunch.Unfortunately, we all found our meals rather lacking. I ordered a Crab Melt Sandwich with their homemade Cream of Garlic soup on the side, my husband got a Calamari Steak Sandwich with a side of Garlic Fries ($1.50 extra to the meal cost), and several of our friends ordered the Garlic City Burger. Each entrée came with two slices of watermelon, which were a nice addition.Crab Melt Sandwich - this was just alright. The crab cake was nothing to write home about and in general, the flavors were mild and not standout. I wouldnt order this again.Calamari Steak Sandwich - this was REALLY bizarre. Somehow, the calamari was sliced into a thin steak shape and sandwiched along with some lettuce and tomatoes, all seasoned with chipotle mayo. The textures really did NOT work well- namely, the wet squish of the calamari with the bright tomatoes and crisp lettuces... it was just all a bit of a confused mess. Do NOT get this, unless they change how they make it in the future...Cream of Garlic Soup - this was really strong, and not in an appetizing way. It has herbs and potatoes in it (as well as some penne pasta, for some odd reason), which is fine, but the overall effect was just overwhelmingly garlic-musk-heavy. My husband LOVES garlic as a general rule, and even he thought this was funky and didnt like it. :(Garlic Fries - these were pretty meh. Crinkle-cut fries (which could easily have been frozen before) sprinkled with a mix of garlic and herbs. It was pretty bland tasting and the textures werent standout, either.Garlic City Burger - the garlic component of this dish is just a few cloves of roasted garlic plopped onto a fairly thin charbroiled patty. One of our friends ordered it medium while the others ordered medium-rare, and none of them could see a difference between their patties (i.e. all of them were pretty darn cooked through). The rest of the dish is pretty simple with some slices of cheese, lettuce, and tomato. It overall felt like a bit of a disappointment given the price tag (I could have easily made this at home). That said, a couple of our friends were fans of the Strawberry & Banana smoothie (one of them curiously reported seeing the owners throw some tangerines into the mix) and declared that this ended up being their favorite part of the meal. One of my friends ordered a Chicken & Prawns Fettuccine and was the only one who seemed to thoroughly appreciate her entrée.Additionally, our receipt was incomprehensible. The itemized list had everything listed strangely as Item A (or something like this) all the way down. There were over a dozen lines of Item A! It was impossible to tell who had ordered what (for the purposes of splitting the bill).Whereas this café provides good portion sizes and fresh ingredients, their cooking (textures and flavors) could use some serious work. Also, although we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time (it was a late lunch for us), some of us had to ask for water 4 times before it arrived. I would not recommend coming here, given other options. While researching places to try, I had noticed multiple BBQ joints in the area. I would personally look into a meal at one of those instead, if given another day around Gilroy.
Pineapple Village
769 1st St, Gilroy, CA 95020, United States
My wife and I met another couple for dinner at Pineapple Village. Weve been there many times before; the food is decent, even if the service tends to have a deer-in-the-headlights quality to it. We each ordered a main dish. Two came quite quickly. Mine arrived 4-5 minutes later—at least long enough for us to encourage our companions to start without us. My wifes dish remained conspicuously absent. As the three of us ate, we stopped multiple waiters and asked multiple times about her food. Each time we were told Ill check on it. I wonder if they ever did. They never came back to tell us what they learned. Finally, one waiter said, Ill get it right now.A curious thing to say!The missing food arrived shortly afterwards. The rest of us were done eating, so my wife only had time for a bite or two before boxing it up to take home. (Who doesnt enjoy reheated fish eaten from a cardboard box, right?)When asked about the delay, the waiter explained that to-go orders take priority in the kitchen. While they were cooking our food, a lot of delivery orders came in, continually pushing our meals to the bottom of the list. My wifes dish takes longer to make than the others, so her meal simply wasnt important to the kitchen.I guess some manager decided that to-go orders are more important than serving customers who made the effort to come to the restaurant. I have heard that food delivery services are not very profitable for small restaurants. Certainly the servers are not making tips off of to-go orders, so I wonder about the rationale. What I do know is that there are many (better) restaurants in Gilroy, and well be taking our business there in the future.
