Special Noodle Soup
10275 S De Anza Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014, United States
One of my preferred casual dumpling eateries!A must-order for me is the XLB, or soup dumplings! Theyre generously sized yet fit snugly on a spoon. Unlike other places that serve them in mini foil pans, here you have to delicately pinch the top with your chopsticks to transfer them to your spoon (or straight into your mouth if youre daring enough to handle the heat). After letting them cool for a moment, I savor the softness of the wrapper, the flavorful meat filling, and the comforting warmth of the broth! I highly recommend trying this dish.Another favorite of mine is the pan-fried buns! These are reminiscent of XLB but with a bread-like dumpling. The crispy bottom perfectly complements the soft and warm top and filling. If you find XLB filling, these pan-fried buns will prove even more substantial due to their dense yet delicious texture!I also indulged in the spicy wontons (which had just the right amount of spice). They made for a delightful snack while we awaited the rest of our meal.To conclude, the sesame seeds provided a delightful touch of sweetness to round off the meal! The staff was efficient and wasted no time. They promptly took our orders and ensured our food arrived swiftly.I have a deep affection for this place and will continue to frequent it whenever I crave some comforting dumplings!
Pho Hoa Noodle Soup - Homestead
20674 Homestead Rd, Cupertino, CA 95014, United States
Based on the photo in their menu, I ordered their seafood soup to go because it looked awesome. When I opened it, there were 3 tiny shrimps instead of three large juicy prawns like on the photo, absolutely no squid, unlike those 4 juicy pieces of squid on their menu photo, 3 over-boiled piece of salmon, that literally tasted like cardboard because they were overcooked, and a bunch of cheap fish balls that are jot even in the photo. The photos were taken by a professional photographer and most likely a long time ago, and they DO NOT reflect the reality of what you get today. This restaurant cuts the corners and deceives their customers, I can’t recommend it unless you like to be lied to.Another thing to note: I ordered a take out and they told me to wait 10-15 minutes and they would call me, so I sat in front of the register, but 20-25 min passed and I went to check on my order because it was way too long, and there it was: sitting on the take out table inside their kitchen, but nobody even had a remote thought to notify me that it was ready. Excellent service! They charge you for the take out plastic as well, so I guess I was “lucky” they did not build-in tips into their price like other pho restaurants are doing these days.
Pho Hoa Jazen Tea (De Anza)
1089 S De Anza Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014, United States
It was a cold day so a hot piping bowl of pho sounded good!At the entrance, they had a sign that said they were low on staff. I waited around for a while, and just when I was about to leave someone came over and seated me.It took some time to order and for my food to arrive. I did get my drink first but it took another visit of the waitstaff to ask for a straw. This is a bubble tea with plastic film on top that had to be punctured, so a straw should be given without request. The pho itself was underwhelming. The soup was quite thin, not the rich broth I was craving. The meat quality is just ok.I totally understand about being understaffed during this time, and wouldnt have held it against the restaurant. However, the meal itself was unsatisfying. There are so many other pho shops nearby, I will visit a different one next time I have cravings.

I love this chain store for their well thought out menu and great breads, soups and salads. Also enjoy using their booths for long discussions. A gem among chain restaurants. Parking can be tough at this location.
Uzumakiya Udon Izakaya
10789 S Blaney Ave, Cupertino, CA 95014, United States
I’ve come to this place multiple times already, and I’ve had a great experience with their food! This place would earn a full five star if the place might have had more service quality. Most waiters would just take your order and go, and when your done eating, they would be like “Thank you!” I know that this place is always busy and stuff like that but at least add some emotion to serving, you know? The food, in general, tasted like a 5 star restaurant, as a contrary. Some days the place would sell out of random items on the menu, often would be the oxtail, meaning the great oxtail udon would be unavailable, and some other appetizers. Besides having some items sold out of a short while of time, everything else is great! If you readers are planning to come here, make sure to have some luck on your side and hope nothing is sold out or taken down :D!As a last thing to say, I went here one day to eat, and it was around 6:15 and a waiter told me: “Sorry, the soup is about to be sold out!”, and I was like “....... :(“. Having soup, the secondary main thing to this restaurant, sold out even before average dinner time (7pm) is pretty outrageous, and after the waiter announced it to everyone in line, the line basically demolished.Me and my friends were basically the last to hit for the soup, and everyone else behind us were screwed. Having said this, this was probably one of those once-in-a-life-time things happening in this restaurant, which is why it still deserves a 4 star (see above for reason). Hopefully next time the restaurant would have less out-of-soup times for the eaters to enjoy. We actually talked to the waiter, and they said that this day was the second time they had ran out of soup ;(. Oh well, thanks for reading!
Happy Lamb Hot Pot Cupertino
19062 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014, United States
Amazing hot pot restaurant! The food:The broth we chose was the Best Of Both Worlds which consist of the original broth and spicy broth. The original broth was SO GOOD! We first did a little taste test before we put all the meat and veggies in and it was SO GOOD that we regretted not putting some soup to the side before adding the ingredients in.The spicy broth was really good as well but too many peppers in it in my opinion otherwise it was so delicious and great for those who love spicy food.We got the the USDA Angus Beef and the Garlic Beef which both were really good and I highly recommend a long with a mixture of veggies and tofu add ons.DO NOT GET RICE OR NOODLES! Those are fillers and will take away from the experience of actual hot pot!I also got the Soju Mango, i thought it would come in a cute little soju shot glass but this one was in your typical cocktail bucket glass which I’m OK with as well and also very delicious and strong! Just how I like it.The service:Very fast and efficient! Our food came out so quick and we always had waiters checking up on us and making sure we were okay. The ladies at the front desk actually asked us if we would like to place our orders in now so that by the time we’re seated our food will arrive! How amazing! We declined because my spouse wasn’t sure what he wanted but when we did order it came within less than 10 minutes! The environment:It’s your typical hot pot environment, love the booth seatings everywhere and very spacious and we didn’t feel crowded! The end:We are not use to not being allowed to take home our food at hot pot restaurants probably because it’s usually a all you can eat style however I asked Henry our waiter and he said yes! That tops it off. 5 stars for allowing us to take our soups home. Will we be back? :YES YES AND YES!Thank you Henry and Happy Lamb Hot Pot!We are happy.

Fashion Wok opened their second restaurant in Cupertino, new name is Home Eat. It is one of my favorite chinese restaurants. I really recommend the beef pot( four people portion). The soup is tasty and beef is soft. It also comes with vegetables. 物超所值!
Pings Bistro Cupertino
10700 S De Anza Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014, United States
The food was pretty good. We ordered beef roll with mint even though we thought it would be a weird combination, but it turned out very good. The grilled fish was just right with the fish still moist and tender. We also ordered a chicken soup with wild fungi, and the chicken was just okay but the soup was absolutely delicious. First time trying out Yunnan cuisine and not disappointed. However beware some dishes are really spicy and they cannot adjust the spiciness levels.Service was okay. Servers were busy and didnt pay a lot of attention.Lots of people here. Even though we arrived before 5:30pm (really early for dinner IMO) there was still a 50-minute wait. Bring good friends so you can chat while you wait. The waiting area lacked seats so be prepared to sit inside your car.
Local Kitchens
21666 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014, United States
We visited local kitchens in Cupertino based on the invite the Yelp Elite event and we had a very pleasant experience!Let me start with the ordering on their website - multiple restaurants serving some of their favorite dishes ( not all, so some may find their preferred items of the original restaurant here) and you can order from any of their menus in a single order (or not as we chose). I placed an order on the Curry-up Now items while my better half chose items from the menu of the The Little Chihuahua. While I let my wife add her review separately, I will say this much - the food served was fresh and the taste and flavors ar exactly what get at the original restaurant. Ordering was quick, easy and efficient!Next about the drive for pickup - though the location of the Cupertino venue is a tad distance from my place, the drive down Stevens Creek Blvd was not too bad. The road at the point where you arrive at the location actually converts from 2 lanes to single lane and since there is HWY 85 exit/merge just close by, you can get easily distracted and pass the spot. No worries just take a u-turn and come back. It is just beside CityFish, a seafood joint we had visited a while a ago (great Fish n Chips here) and parking may be scarce but easily found around it.Next about the place itself - with no indoor dining option, the inside is huge and empty with plenty of place for social distancing. They have self-order iPad kiosks to one side as well to order while you are there as well. There was a gender neutral washroom at one end which was very distant ( good) from the place of pickup. And yes, there was now-being-served screen to the right of the entry which you can look at and go to the pick up counter when you read your name. Pretty slick, I should say. Finally about the order - spot on time, ready for pick up, stored in warming area until you do and very cleanly packed and sealed for no tampering post packing. I was quickly handed my order and we were off in a jiffy. Very very efficient. Hats off the to professional and friendly staff - Daria and her team there!!The thank you card along with food was nice touch and was happy to see it was not for Yelp Elite orders only. My wife got it too!Food quality was just as good as they serve in the original restaurant. And prices match the value they give and the plentiful options you get due to the menus of different restaurants menus here.I will go back for more and maybe next time to try some their breakfast and snack options! You should go too
Caff Macs - Alves
20625 Alves Dr, Cupertino, CA 95014, United States
I go here almost every day for my lunch break because they're just way too convenient and cheap and the food is honestly really great. Definitely a nice perk of working at Apple. Lots of good choices for people with dietary restrictions and they rotate the selection almost every day, so you rarely get bored with it.
