We were here on August 6th. There is a huge sign on the door that says MASK IS REQUIRED to enter the store. We saw two young guys walking around in the store without a mask. The employees of this store served them without saying anything about the mandatory face covering that they have in place. My husband and an older gentleman draw the employees attention to this issue. The gentleman said that he has high risk of getting Covid and they should have someone that enforces the rules. They said “ it is not required to wear a mask at this store”. The older gentleman pointed at the door and said that “ there is a huge sign on the door stating otherwise” and that they should enforce it. One of the employees said that it's the manager's responsibility to enforce it and the manager is not here. Say what??? It is absolutely unacceptable! Many people have serious pre-existing conditions and need to be protected. It is not a big deal to wear a mask to protect each other. Finally, if your store complies with the mandatory mask wearing rule and it is clearly put on the door then ENFORCE IT! Ps: service was extremely slow with 9-10 people being behind the counter working on orders. 32 minute waiting time for 2 sandwiches.

The food was underwhelming the meat was bland and under seasoned and over cooked making it tough to eat clearly these are not authentic recipies. The most applauding part of our experience was the treatment between the staff. The front of house was run by White men and women this included the hosts and the wait staff and the runners and bussers were Latino several times when when the bussers were trying to communicate with the servers there was a communication issue. In one occasion a busser was trying to tell a waiter something and the waiter literally brushed her off and turned his back to her stating to another person that he doesn't understand that busser who was speaking English. Another instance a waitress refused to help a Latino busser while he was asking for her help in clear English. She starred at him blankly while he was burning his arm with some hot plates of food. It would be good to see the Latino staff be treated with more respect in a restaurant who's sole purpose is to gain profit from the food from their culture seeing people get disrespected while I'm trying to enjoy my meal is off putting and as a Latina myself seeing this treatment to people of my culture is offensive and unsettling.

Great sandwich spot and easy spot to grab a quick bite before heading to the park. Only complaint is their pricing. Wall pricing states one and the register is higher and when asked about why is it advertised cheaper than in the system, the young staff just said, well thats the pricing and should be correct in the register. I stated if something is advertised lower, shouldnt the pricing be honored, they were reluctant to agree. I did appreciate the discount offered.Just requesting proper training and correct pricing as NO one likes to be mislead or have False Advertising.Sandwich and bread is simply great

Gauge was great and encouraging, The cold eyed, cold hearted, read headed manager and his two rude cold hearted odd looking female cronies were eyeing me in a cold eyed rude manner taking their cue from the front end manager. I went in feeling positive looking forward to seeing any repairs to the upstairs, some odd girl greeted me nicely but odd about the bathroom was under construction just like the rude manner or the youngan pushing Cart. He assumed I was head for your store instead of Round Table and was looking forward to telling me the doors were closed with an ugly smirk on his face.I went to the Round Table but the people were strangers to me. I was so distracted and distressed by the rude young people I attempted to engage in friendly spouted banter. The man has weird tattoos and acts like he owns the store. First some odd girl tells me to use the upstairs bathroom when I didnt need to do so. In my confusion I went to the back of the store to check what she meant. I experienced so much harsh rude cold mean behavior from the childish front end staff I decided to leave because I was becoming angry. I decided to avail myself of the upstairs restaurant restroom (which had no paper towels) Then that complete jerk loudly and rudely decided to condescendingly yell Sir, the upstairs is closed. with a smug saurian lisp. He was treating me as a potential shoplifter or homeless elderly disabled man to the amusement of the three female clerks and the cart pushing godless social peria. The toxic femininity is palpable and the another brain dead girl reported that I took his picture. I did so for the purpose of evidence in case they commit a 602.5 of California knowingly making a fraudulent police report. I said aloud I decided not to make another purchase because because of this.

Umi Sushi
1121 White Rock Rd #105, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762, United States
So its Christmas day 2020 and Umi Sushi has come through to help make this one of the best in years. As a Mom who is totally exhausted by Christmas morning, (any parent who handles 99% of the Christmas duties understands) making dinner is the last thing I want to do. That is why we always go out. This year we obviously could not, so I FBd Umi in advance and they told me they would be open for Christmas, New years eve and New Years. FYI, they are also open for Mothers Day (wish I had known that sooner). They catered our Christmas with the freshest, most delicious and healthiest serving of sushi Ive ever had in the central California region. Im from the bay area, Ive lived up and down the peninsula and coast and have visited all the great sushi spots, I would put Umi Sushi up against the best of them. A million times better than Mikuni. Ive been coming here for 5 years now and the quality and quantity has always been beyond impressive. And the price can not be beat. We ordered 3 lunch boxes, Beef Teriyaki - soooo good, Mixed shrimp tempura and chicken Katsu (all served with basic california roll, miso soup (really good), rice and green salad. We also got a 3 maki roll special (2 tekka maki and 1 California roll #2) and one 2 maki roll special ( 1 tekka maki and 1 Hamachi roll) and each come with your choice of miso or salad. We also ordered a lion king, red dragon & ichibon roll (all of them are amazing!!!) and 2 extra sides of rice (my son cant get enough of their rice). It came out to a little over $100 with a 20% tip. Really? Amazing! If you love fresh sushi that doesnt need to be covered with sauce to hide that fact that the fish isnt fresh (although the sauced rolls are good too) this is your place.Ive posted pictures of some of the sushi. Sorry I couldnt get all the food, it was devoured as soon as we got home. Needless to say, it was immensely enjoyed :)

Bakerie & Latte Chateau Arme
2222 Francisco Dr Suite 500, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762, United States
Posted in Folsom Telegraph Nov 6, 2013As early as 3:30 every morning, the aroma of freshly baked pastries and breads and coffee wafts through the air at the Bakerie & Latte Chateau Arme on Francisco Drive in El Dorado Hills. For 20 years, owner Helen Rostami's day begins hours before her customers begin to stream into the bakery for a scone and coffee before work and ends 11 hours later. The motto of her bakery is “Experience the Difference.”What's the reason you started the restaurant?I opened this restaurant 20 years ago because after I took quite a bit of time off from my previous job when I had breast cancer, I couldn't go back to it but wanted to continue baking. When I opened the place, I was the only bakery and coffee house in the area.Does the name “Chateau Arme” mean something? The word “chateau” is French for house and Arme comes from Armenian as I was born in Armenia and moved here in 1990. Together, the words mean “Armenian House.”What were you doing earlier?I worked for Cliff House of Folsom for four years and was the pastry chef. Prior to that I worked for hotels and restaurants for many years in Minneapolis, one of which was the Whitney Hotel where Michael Jackson and the president of Russia stayed when I was working there. What formal job training have you had?None. All my training has been on the job. When I was a little girl I used to bake a lot with my aunt. What sets your bakery apart from your competition?People know the difference. Nothing here is artificial. I use high quality ingredients. We just started serving breakfast on the weekends and have a choice of eight varieties of coffees. Our breads for our sandwiches are baked here and I make a different soup daily. We have Flavor Burst ice cream which is very popular. People call this place a home away from home. What is your biggest seller? The scones, cinnamon and caramel pecan rolls and wheat bread are all very popular. We have eight different varieties of scones, five different cookies and both regular and low-fat muffins. Over Christmas, we will have the Yule logs which the customers love. What do you like most about your job?I'm my own boss and can set my own schedule. My customers make me want to get up in the morning. They love what I do and make me love what I do. The customers are turning out to be a big family for me. I see many of the same people on a daily basis. I have the biggest family anyone can have and I really enjoy that.Have you won any awards?I've only entered one competition in El Dorado Hills. My dessert won the competition in 1993. Style Magazine readers also chose my place this year as the best bakery in the area.Have you taken any time off from work?I work 11 hours a day seven days a week. In 20 years, I haven't had a vacation. My last vacation was to Hawaii. The only time I take off is when I'm sick or need to take care of my husband. Two years ago, he had open heart surgery. When I'm off, my daughter manages the place. What are you happiest about?I'm happy with everything that's going well and my business is growing. I'm in a good state of my mind. I've gone through cancer twice – breast cancer 20 years ago and uterine cancer four years ago – but am healthy now. I'm happy to see that my kids are doing well, too. What causes are you passionate about?I donate to Mayo Clinic. I also help the homeless in Sacramento by giving what's left of my baked goods that haven't sold. Pastors from Folsom pick up the food from here. Every year, I donate food for the fire fighters wine tasting event.Tell us about your family.I got married when I was 19. I have a son and daughter. My daughter helps me here and is a good baker. My son works for SMUD. I've got five grandchildren from ages 5 through 18.If you weren't baking, what would you be doing?I used to sew and design dresses including bridal dresses. I love to sew but don't have time now.

10-22-22: My husband and I went here for the 1st time for our 32nd wedding anniversary. Never in my life have I wanted to or have tipped more than 20%, yet we happily tipped 25% here.We made reservations and when we got there, they seated us right away. They were super busy, so we got a window table in the back of the restaurant, near a back door, but it had a nice view of their outdoor seating areas with pretty lights and a water fountain. The plates are a nice heavy, pretty stoneware, and the utensils are very weighty as well. Very top of the line compared to most other places.Being in the back of the restaurant made absolutely NO difference. We were waited on practically hand and foot by 4 different people. We wanted for nothing at all. Every one that works there has their head on a swivel. Theyre always watching everyone, and are right there if they see your drink is low, or need a water refill (which btw, they leave a bottle of on your table), or a leftover container. Weve never had better service EVER.If that wasnt amazing enough, the food was to die for! This is the only restaurant weve ever been to, that asked if we had any food allergies! How nice is that?We started with the Glazed Garlic Prawns. (see picture-though the 2 end ones were gobbled down prior to taking the picture) These were SO DELICIOUS! Our only suggestions for this dish would be 1) include a spoon so one can get more sauce in your mouth versus just what you can smother on your prawn, and 2) possibly include 2 garlic breadsticks with this dish to dip into the sauce after the prawns are devoured. We almost cried when they took the dish away with quite a bit of sauce remaining on the plate. For the main dish, my husband had the Berkshire Pork and I had the Cacciatore Chicken. Both were incredible! My husband ate every single bite, and was super happy we were at the back of the restaurant and he was facing the door, so he could hide while he picked up the bone and ate every morsel of meat off it! Sauce makes the meal, and both dishes had sauces that we only could wish we knew how to make!We werent going to have dessert, but the meal was so delicious, we knew we had to try one. We decided on the Chefs Inspiration, which happened to be Carrot Cake. OH MY GOD....we died and went to heaven! It was warm and crunchy on top and had the best flavor Ive ever tasted! I have an amazing carrot cake recipe, and Ive never had carrot cake that even came close to tasting better....until now. This was 10 times better than mine, and thats saying something, for me anyway. After we were done and stuffed and happy as little clams, the waiter came over to see if we needed anything else. We felt the need to rave about EVERYTHING! We then just happened to mention we came to celebrate our anniversary, and we were so happy we picked this place! It was probably the best meal and service weve ever experienced. The waiter was super happy and left to get our bill.A minute later, another gentleman who we think was a manager came over, and brought us a bottle of Champagne in a bag to take with us, and 2 shots of what we think was done kind of whiskey. Were not big drinkers, so not sure, but it was tasty. We were in awe! How sweet was that and totally unexpected!Needless to say, well be back for sure. They are not cheap, but you totally get what you pay for and then some! You absolutely wont be disappointed! I would give them 100 stars if I could!

Sellands is our go to restaurant for lunch and dinner. The place is always clean and packed with happy customers. The staff is professional and courteous. Its ideally located overlooking the pond and the common area. And of course the food... the food is some of the best weve found for miles around. In particular their salads, soups and the pepperoni feta and Olive pizza are to die for! Theyre seating inside and on the patio. The patio is dog friendly.

Sellands restaurant had some nice selections, I ordered the meatloaf sandwich. It was yummy, with a healthy portion of tasty meatloaf. Sisters and niece liked their salads and soup. A bit confusing when the door was opened for the day. Seems some folks dont know how to step aside if not ordering because their full party hadnt arrived.
