Pho Consomme
1850 W Redondo Beach Blvd, Gardena, CA 90247, United States
WOW I never!!I sooooo wanted to like this place but it was a total bust from the beginning.1. The vegetarian options are AWFUL. I got the Fried Rice with veggies and tofu and the rice wasnt even fried. It was a disturbing yellowish color that didnt resemble any fried rice I ever had, and the veggies were frozen peas and carrots. Something you could make at home on a lazy Wednesday. It was an OK dish. I wouldnt recommend it at all.LESSON: NEVER GET BACK OF THE MENU ITEMS!!!2. The bathroom was filthy. FILTHY. Walked in and a large turd was floating in the toilet. (Had to kick the toilet handle to flush it, didnt wanna touch the handle). It was toilet paper covers all over the floor. It looked like a public restroom in a park -_-LESSON: Dirty Restroom = Dirty Kitchen = Dirty Staff3. The kitchen was FILTHY. I sat near the swinging door and caught a glance of the kitchen and was petrified. Cut up boxes on the floor to absorb water or keep the staff from slipping. The floor was visibly wet. Plus it was food particles all on the floor. It wasnt a great sign. A messy kitchen = food poisoning in some occasions. Luckily I didnt order any meat but I was worried about dookie fingers in my fried rice.LESSON: NEVER EAT WHERE THEIR A DIRTY KITCHEN4. The staff was sooooo confused. They mixed up more than one order. They gave me someone elses Tofu Stir-fry. It was at my table for a good 2 mins before they realized it and before I could figure out it wasnt what I ordered. They took it to the man behind me which i thought was kinda awkward since I was breathing over his food seconds prior. But he got his revenge when they accidently gave his table my FRIED RICE!!LESSON: NEVER LAUGH AT SOMEONES MISFORTUNE, IT CAN EASILY HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!!As a borderline germaphobe there were just one too many strikes about this place. I kept thinking ima get gonorrhea or something messing with this service. I would of appreciated it more if the food was actually good. But it was basic.

I went to a place called Uga Seolleongtang for the first time since I didnt have time to go there because I often go near the office. Wow... But it was much more delicious than the LA restaurants Ive tried in LA, the ingredients were so good, and it was so eye-poppingly delicious!! Ive already tried it 4 times. I went there and got the fried chicken stew and dogani stew. I tried galbitang, Osam bulgogi, and seonji hangover soup, and everything was delicious!! I recommend it to everyone in Gardena!!!! I used to go to Myeongdong Kalguksu often, but now I have to alternate between coming here often!!! This restaurant has a great clean taste!! Highly recommended if you enjoy clean taste.

Christmas 2017 - Wife and I are wrapping up our visit to the greater L.A. area. Just happened to catch this place while coming out of another restaurant located in the same plaza at lunch time. We walked by and there were like several people waiting outside to get a table. The dishes rotating on the window monitor definitely looked appealing, and emphasized a Taiwanese hot pot cuisine, so I made a mental note to check it out for dinner that evening. Some background: I've eaten a few different hot pots before, as it's my Asian wife's favorite kind of food, so I kind of get the concept - You choose a savory broth (such as spicy hot pepper, sweet & spicy, miso, or other curry), and they bring out a pot on a gas burner, to which you add various ingredients yourself at the table -including vegetables, seafood or other meats, like “shabu shabu”. Or they just bring it out to you mixed all together -ala to Korean stew or Vietnamese pho style. Here it was the latter.First thing I noticed was that the place was packed, and the restaurant is a bit on the small side. We waited about 15-20 minutes after checking into the electronic kiosk to get a ticket number. Upon entering, Atmosphere was so-so - it was a bit on the dark side, but not so much that we couldn't see others around us. I could hear contemporary Asian pop music playing in the background. After sitting down, we got our menus. Our server seemed a bit young and impatient, but the food was really what counted. I ordered the #4 (beef hot pot) at mild spice level; my wife the Korean bean paste hot pot with sliced beef, medium spicy. The meal came out piping hot right on a gas burner, one for both of us. The presentation, freshness, and quality of the food were very good. The portions of meat and vegetables were satisfying, and the broth really stood out as excellent - very rich, complex, savory and flavorful - mine was slightly sweet and spicy. My stew included sliced angus beef, napa cabbage, fermented tofu, straw mushrooms, imitation crab, fish cake, a meat ball, rice vermicelli noodles, and a piece of fresh corn, among a few other things. On the side, they had various optional dipping sauces. I only tried the garlic-bean paste, which was fantastic. The spice level was just right for us as well. Having eaten at many restaurants, the price was definitely fair ($14/each) for the quality and quantity of food, at dinner. We got a small refreshing lemon/lime boba at the end. Overall, my experience was great, and I believe it to be very good value. My wife agreed, and she has pretty high standards for Asian food. Mind you, its not fine dining -The atmosphere and service particularly are somewhat wanting, but the food is well worth it. As some others have written, this is a definitely a step above the average pho or soon-dubu place.Overall- Food quality & taste 5/5- Presentation 5/5- Portion size 4.5 /5- Price/value 4/5- Atmosphere 3.5 / 5- Service 3/5- Cleanliness 4 / 5Mean rating: 4.1 of 5 - Very good!—

This restaurant is a simple place. You wouldnt think of it as a very famous or popular restaurant. However, the food is really good, the kind of food you would hope to eat from a Korean home. The Sul Lang Tang soup is a very very popular dish among Koreans, similar to how Pho is for the Vietnamese. Its a good place for other traditional Korean food.
Kunchorn Thai Food
15315 S Figueroa St B, Gardena, CA 90248, United States
Hello people I had a Very BAD Experience at KUNCHORN THAI FOOD 1st: I order Fried Rice and they served me steam rice that was very soggy and I called the waitress over and told her that I had ordered fried rice not steam rice and she told me that it was fried rice and I told her that it wasnt my first time eating fried rice, so she went with the cook and came back out and said that the rice was no good and she was going to bring me a fresh order. When the new order came I was able to tell the difference because it wasnt soggy. 2nd: The Spring roll that my 13 year old daughter was eating had a very hard part on the end so we asked to see the chef he came out and explained to us that reason why it was hard was because he didnt wet the hole piece of rise(flat tortilla look alike) with warm water, so the edge that wasnt wet was hard. 3rd: The chef had some disgusting hands. He had FONGUS on almost all his FingerNails it made me sick to my stomach that I left without finishing the food that I had to pay for. Once I got to my car my stomach started hurting and right before I got in my car I started throating up because all I had in my head was the Cooks FUNGUS FINGERNAILS I will never go back to that place. Remember If You Dont Want to Eat Food made by someone with FUNGUS fingernails stay Away From KunchornThai Food just the though of the chefs hands with fungus finger nails makes my stomach SICK.
Tacos Guadalajara

I really like going to this place if I could go 3 times a week I would do it ? but the fish tacos are my favorites because of their delicious sauce, although the truth is their entire menu is tasty and very fresh, plus the portions they serve in Their dishes are very complete and one is very satisfied, since in other places they try to put more beans, rice and salad to make it look like a very good dish and perhaps at most they put about 8 thin strips and more vegetables when it comes to meat. of a ranchero meat, something that I dislike, but here they serve just enough, very well prepared dishes and with good portions at a very reasonable price, I really recommend it, since being there makes it so comfortable to watch music videos in a Very big screen and the place is always very clean and the owners of the place take care of it very kindly.

Came here based on good reviews on Google looking for a Korean restaurant in Gardena and wasnt disappointed?Friend made reservations for 7 people for a birthday party and the waitresses were very friendly and helpful as this was our first time here.Ordered the Spicy Beef Brisket with Seafood, along with the Beef Bulgogi to share and others ordered the Bibimbap which looked real good?Complementary Banchans are excellent, they came around several times asking if we needed refills on water and any if the banchans too.Food was excellent and more on the larger portion size(I think the soups and plates are for sharing fyi) which we did end up sharing through the meal.Korean soju and beer are also served here along with fresh octopus and sashimi that are market price.Would highly recommend as this is a newer restaurant only opened for 6 months? Forgot exactly what the server said. Limited English spoken and customers were mainly Korean so you know its legit. 5 stars??
Mr. Hs Lunch Place

Always wanted to try this place. They are closed on the weekend. I ordered the upon with fish cake soup(had a kick to it, not too sweet like sukiyaki, comes with cabbage, spinach, and green onion), spam musubi, and house kimbap. Very good value and taste pretty good. Neatly and thoughtfully packed. Hope they stay in business for the value they offer, which is hard to find these days.Ill definitely go back.
L A Express Cafe
1515 W 190th St #102, Gardena, CA 90248, United States
I started eating at the LA Express Cafe in 2016 when I worked on the fourth floor of that building. I've since left that job, but I still drive there a couple times a month as a special treat to myself.Yes, the food is that good! The owners, John and Linda are extremely friendly and are willing to accommodate just about any special request you can think of. Be warned: asking for extras will result in an upcharge! I can't tell you how many times I've heard people whining about the price of adding avocado. Get over it, you damn cheapskates! An off-menu suggestion: the “Chuck's Pick” breakfast burrito. It's two hash browns, eggs, cheese, salsa, and avocado. It's vegetarian and tastes freaking amazing. Like, good enough to drive to Gardena all the way from Beverly Hills just to get one.On-menu suggestions: the BLT + fries is one of the best in LA. The chicken nuggets are out of a bag, but the cook has some trick that makes them taste like they've never been frozen. The “Coach's Pick” is great for a rainy day. As is a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato!Helpful tip: the tortilla soup is pretty good, but all the soups are EXTREMELY hot. I've burned my mouth countless times. Take the lid off and let it cool for ten minutes (or longer) before you attempt to eat it. Unless you want your face to melt off like that guy at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark!
