Panera Bread
15200 Los Gatos Blvd Suite 100, Los Gatos, CA 95032, United States
I was part of a group that went to Panera for coffee after our meeting because it was convenient and we could always find a large table. I hadn't been back since I left the group so I thought I'd give the place a try for lunch. On the positive side, the service was great. The buzzer they gave me didn't work when my food was ready, but an especially cheerful person came looking for me on the patio when I didn't pick it up. The person who took my order was also very upbeat. And it was nice to see one of the workers spending lots of time spray-cleaning the tables… with a smile!Unfortunately, I can't say anything good about the food. I ordered their Signature Take Chicken Sandwich. It's served on a brioche roll with a few spring greens, little parmesan-flavored crisps (which I skipped), and garlic aioli. You can pick one free side dish: either a little French baguette (an odd choice with a sandwich), an apple, or a small bag of chips. The brioche roll was fresh but the chicken was completely dried out. I think it had been sitting around for a while. It was also much smaller than the picture implied.Even though the staff was excellent, the food was just ordinary. I'm not a big fan of large chain restaurants anyway, so I don't have any compelling reason to return.
Eriks DeliCaf
15495 Los Gatos Blvd A, Los Gatos, CA 95032, United States
My parents took my husband and me to lunch here. I had the Isle of Capri veggie sandwich. It was like having a Caprese salad in a sandwich form. It was very good. I just wish the bread was a more robust sourdough. I also got the Miss Vickies Sea Salt chips, which I really recommend. My husband had the chicken gorganzola salad, which was also very good, fresh and tasty. It was large and had a generous amount of chicken--and LOTS of nuts and cranberries. My parents did their standard order of turkey sandwich with butternut squash soup for her and REM Speedway sandwich with clan chowder for him. They were both very happy. Its counter service. You can eat inside or out.

Update: I was extremely irritated when I received the boiler plate response to a review submitted on another platform asking me to reach out to them after I had already directly submitted my feedback on their own platform and have an account. It added insult to injury. However, Ive updated my feedback rating to reflect my appreciation that they did indeed go out of their way to make things right as stated here. While Im not likely to return anytime soon, the fact they truely appear to care about their customers experience has left an impression. What a collosal waste of money. $40 for burnt up chicken jerky on a bone advertised as rotisserie, a crunchy equally dried out pulled chicken sandwich that was still dry even with slaw and mayo, and fries that were actually the highlight of the whole meal. How sad is that!!! They forgot to include the honey habanero sauce I requested and included onions when I requested none as well. Fail. Been to other locations and similar items have been good, but this location was HORRIBLE. Do NOT recommend getting Proposition Chicken here. We will not be back.
Dar Restaurant and Bar
11 College Ave, Los Gatos, CA 95030, United States
Our visits to Dar Restaurant and Bar for both lunch and dinner were truly remarkable. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a blend of elegant and cozy decor that sets the perfect tone for a memorable dining experience. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, providing friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable service that made us feel special from the moment we walked in.For dinner, we savored the Mediterranean Trio, the exceptionally cooked Date Chermoula Kufta, and the subtly flavored Soup Du Dar. The Pomegranate Braised Lamb Shank and Moroccan Sea Bream were both exquisite, showcasing the chef's culinary prowess, while the Harissa Potatoes added a delightful spicy kick.Lunch was equally delightful with the consistently delicious Lamb Riblets, the flavorful Zahra, and our favorite, the Haloumi Salad. The succulent Chicken Tawook and rich Lamb Meatball Pasta rounded out our meal perfectly. Each dish was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality and creativity in Mediterranean cuisine. Highly recommended for both the incredible food and the outstanding service!
The Melt
681 Blossom Hill Rd, Los Gatos, CA 95032, United States
The food was good. There was some smell as soon as you entered the place. It was one type of cleaner mixed with dirt (lingering smell). Just a couple of employees working but they were efficient. They did not announce the name of the order. I saw the order ready sitting there for a couple of minutes before I asked if it was my order and it was. They did do a good job at adding silverware and napkins. Good for take out, not for dine in.
Manresa
320 Village Ln, Los Gatos, CA 95030, United States
Ive eaten at Manresa a number of times, and love it, but my kids have not. So took my son Josh and his GF Aran for their 25th birthdays, along with my Sweetie Teresa (her 2nd time) on Feb 12th. We all had the tasting menu with the wine pairing, which came to a total (with bubbly and still water, one G&T, and 3 coffees to about $2700 including a $500 tip, which sounds steep but was SO worth it!Started with 2 Amuse Bouches: a petit fours of red pepper gellee with black olive madeline, and an incredible multi-seed granola crisp filled with goat cheese. This was followed by two small plates: iced geoduck clam with kolrabi and turnip, and an exquisite sunchoke royale, with roast chicken jelly and Ossetra cavier. My only small critique of these 4 starters, all of which were both beautiful & delicious, was that they probably would have been even more heavenly if accompanied by champagne. This alcohol-deprivation was soon rectified, however. The next course was a delicious abalone chowder with poblano chile mouse (sp?), paired beautifully with a 2017 Alzinger Gruener Veitliner Smaragd - Steinertal (a somewhat grassy, superb Austrian white. The salad course was a complete knock-out (see photos) - with crunch, savoriness, just wonderful, paired with the same Austrian white. The next course was fabulous, a Romanesco, Dungeness crab concontion with koji butter, which we all gleefully sopped up with the sourdough (one of three never-ending Manresa-baked bread choices), paired with a superb 2013 Comtesse Bernard de Cherisey Meursault Genelotte. This was followed by Kinmedai and squid with grilled onion jus, paired well witha 2017 La Marca di San Michele, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi CapoVolto (a grape Ive never heard of - delicious!). This squid course, while delicious and satisfying, was probably the most one note flavor palate of any of the courses due to the grilled onion jus.The 1st meat course was another knock-out: roast veal sweetbreads with coffee potato & black garlic, paired beautifully with a 2009 Michael Gros, Vosne-Romanee Clos des Reas. The final meat course was the far and away the meatiest fowl course Ive ever had, and pushed all of my beef buttons. It was a roasted (rare) squab breast and a confit squab leg & thigh in an incredible foie gras sauce Albefera, paired with a lovely Syrah, the 2013 Clusel-Roch, Cote-Rotie Les Grande Places.By this point we were all satieted and a bit tipsy, but had room for most of the 3 dessert courses, paired with a wonderful old Port, a 1962 Muse Wines, Banyuls Pietri-Geraud.The 1st was Kafir lime with pistachio & squash, combining sweet & savory notes with the citrus of the kefir lime. The 2nd was a amazing tower of roasted pear hidden below a chocolate crisp with fennel, followed by strawberry petit fours with chocolate madeleines, tying into the 1st amuse bouche.Coffee was excellent, as expected, and happy we all Lyfted there and home. Meal began at 5:30, and ended at 10:15 with a dessert doggy bag, plus a couple handfulls of their butter carmels and individual clear boxes of their homemade granola for breakfast the next day.If youve never eaten at this local 3 Michelin starred gem, you owe it to yourself to try it for a special occasion. The ambiance, the decor, the service, the presentation, and especially the food, with amazingly contrasting colors, textures, and temperatures within a single dish, are all fantastic and worthy of 3 Michelin stars. To my mind, Manresa is botb closer and better than the French Laundry.
Summit Store Inc.
24197 Summit Rd, Los Gatos, CA 95033, United States
The manger of this establishment is very rude and non friendly. I stopped by for a burrito while conducting tree business services in the area. I thought I'd ask if I could leave any of my door hangers on the check out counters. He said It was a pay to win game, I asked him how much… then immediately rejected me. I didn't take it personal and told him it was okay. I walked outside to eat my burrito. Then there was this young homeless man sitting down eating his food. He started a conversation with me. so I then asked him about the cross on his hand. Wondering if he was a Christian. He had told me yes. So we bagan to talk about god and Jesus. The 26 year old boy was a good kid at heart but just had some personal issues. In my opinion he looked completely suspectible to change. I offered him some money and then he wanted to return the favor. I told him he could leave the door hangers on people's home if he thought he could do that with out getting into any problems. He was up for the task and said he could. Little did I know he eventually turned around and started handing them out at the store instead. Later I received a phone call from what seemed to be a very nice guy. Asking if I could do an estimate for a home he was selling at property address 547 summit rd, Watson Ville which ones an hour drive to the mountain hill tip in Watson vile.I'm a 23 year old trying to make an honest living doing what I know best. Selling tree work. My family has been in business for generations. I've just happened to have some difficult times. I'm working towards paying for my own wedding as well. So being 100% commission based I was open to do the estimate. Little did I know this conflict happened earlier. I'm reality, I had just been stud up in the middle of no where. I don't have much financial support and this was very unfair for me.I was just looking to help a fellow Christian but instead revived this unfair treatment from this locally owned store.I've never experienced such cruel joke…I hope Christian's reading this can see the type of people running this establishment. I'm nobody to say that they don't deserve your business but I think this was just an ungodly act.
Sidecar Modern Tavern
25 E Main St, Los Gatos, CA 95030, United States
As a lifelong Los Gatos native and business owner whos been through both the good and bad (2008-2010) times... I wanted to call attention to two of our favorite restaurants in town.My wife and I have been going to Sidecar since before the pandemic. Weve never had anything but an amazing time... great atmosphere, awesome food and ridiculously good drinks! In addition, their Sunday brunch is one of our absolute favorites in town. We even went so far as to have our post wedding party after Testarossa there and it was the highlight of the night!More recently, weve started doing dinners at their sister restaurant Epernay about once a week. Closest thing to the menu at Nicks (which we sadly lost during the pandemic). They have, arguably, the best filet in town and Im pretty sure its under $50. Not to mention, the best steamed mussels and French onion soup on earth and a killer selection of wine. We tried their brunch last Sunday and the omelette was epic, as were the four pear Bellinis ;)I mention these two spots purely because I remember how few places there were in town to enjoy when Los Gatos struggled through that 2008-2010 period and also during Covid. I mentioned Nicks earlier because frankly, it was a punch to the gut to see them go. While I certainly have no crystal ball, we both live in town and seeing a lot of places not as busy as usual, I wanted to throw out a gentle reminder to support those few places we rely on to enjoy our time out with family and friends. These two just happen to be our favorite and wanted to share that with the rest of you who may, or may not yet had the opportunity to try.
Nonnos Italian
21433 Broadway Rd, Los Gatos, CA 95033, United States
Large outdoor dining. Indoor dining, too.All you can eat salad-bar/pizza Tuesdays. (But they wont start until after 5p, and pizza starts cooking, one-at-a-time after that.)Wood fired stove is in the outdoor area.Outdoor bar has wine, and canned alcoholic beverages. All you can eat pizza/salad-bar, and alcoholic beverages must be purchased outside.Non-alcoholic beverages, to-go pizza, and all other menu items must be purchased indoors.Wish their daily menu was easily available. Wont do Facebook, & its not posted there anyway, despite what theyve said. Too bad they dont have a website where they can update the menu-of-the day. Sometimes they have BBQ ribs, pork, fish, hamburgers, etc.Pizza crust is thin & good! Its thoroughly cooked (not doughy).Pizza itself is quite yummy!Salad bar is fresh (except the onions are always old). Salad bar is (otherwise) GREAT. Suggestion: Cut fewer onions ahead, replenish only as necessary. Onions go yuck quickly after cutting. Obviously onions dont get used fast. I dont trust onion on their pizza either because of this. Thats ok to me, as I dont prefer cooked onion anyway.Havent tried their other menu options because its not posted ahead of time, so I dont know what days to visit, unless I know I want pizza.Take out pizza is great! And you can order to cook at home, too.
Asa Restaurant Los Gatos
57 Saratoga-Los Gatos Rd, Los Gatos, CA 95032, United States
This place is pretty mediocre across the board. The prices and portions vary so wildly youd honestly think they are chosen randomly. Also the service is SO UNBELIEVABLY SLOW that youd be better off ordering your food for pick up, but even if you do prepare for it to be overcooked. This places charges an absolute eye-watering $6/oyester. I have no idea who they think will pay this. This is crazy even for bay area prices.Anyways, rant over. The anchovie bread were actually really surprisingly good. Very buttery with a hint of mustard and the anchovies add a nice saltiness. The croquettes were delectable as well. The main courses were a mixed bag. The halibut I was told was excellent. The pork chops were cooked well, but didnt wow.The paella was pretty mid and was told I would give a 2/5. There was no chorizo even though the, menu said it contained it, the shrimp was rubbery and tough (overcooked) and was way too soupy. The duck was good as well, but they needed to remake the fish for us because it came out completely well done and had to send it back. Once it came back, I would say the duck was above average, but nothing to wow about. The duck itself didnt really taste seasoned and if you didnt eat it with the topping, it was unremarkable. The skin didnt even taste salted. The tuna was quite phenomenal. It was cooked perfectly, the rice was good, the saucy had amazing flavor. But it was way too expensive for six slices of tuna and two scoops of rice. The biggest disappointment was the service. The waiting times were atrocious. For a party of five it took us TWO HOURS from getting seated to paying the bill. it would have been way longer if we ordered desert. It took 30 minutes for appetizers to come out and 45 minutes for entrees, and then another 15 minutes to get a new duck dish.I would consider coming back if the service was not so abysmally slow.
