Daeho Kalbi Jjim & Beef Soup
217 W Calaveras Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
I have a cold and Im hoping something warm and nutritious for dinner. Ordered a beef soup from this restaurant. With extra soup, it cost me $42 in total. Guess what I got? The soup did come with only two pieces of meat. I really could not understand how people manage business like this. Will never order anything from here any more.

Eriks DeliCaf
148 N Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
We ordered a Door Dash pick up this evening which were sandwiches, soup, and salad. As we pulled into the parking lot, the Eriks Deli side was quite busy with cars going in and out, so we ended up parking to the right near the Cheese steak place. We noticed there was only one other set of people siting down eating and there was no line at the register. I let them know we were there for a Door Dash pick up and they said it wasnt ready yet. They guy behind the counter was polite and continued to finish our order. It was completed about 5 to 10 minutes after the pick up time. Since we werent in a rush a little extra wait time was OK. I had the Potbelly sandwich and it was very tasty. My family also enjoyed their salads, soups, and sandwiches.
King Chicken Wing
77 S Park Victoria Dr, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
The worst sweet n sour pork. Pieces of pork were small, dried out and burnt and masked with huge coating of batter. I cut into several pieces and some pieces were all batter and no meat. The pieces that had meat were so small, hard and dried out, like it was days old. All masked with more onion and bell pepper and sweet sauce than meat pieces. What a rip off! Almost $17 for noodles and two chicken wings, because the sweet & sour wasnt edible. Poor customer service also, she saw me standing there waiting 1/2 hr after telling me it would be done in 15 minutes. My order sat there on the counter an extra 15 minutes. There was no other people there placing orders. Not busy at all, so no confusing with other orders. She then told me it was up to me to keep asking for my order. All while being the only customer there!!! Never will return!!!

I had lunch here with my Ate (older sister). We had dinuguan and the arroz caldo. The dinuguan was served on a sizzling hot pan and reminded me of what the dish would be like if it was dinguan sisig (style). As it turns out this is the best way to eat dinuguan. The blood is not too soupy and the consistency is great, and the flavors just pop with the added heat and subtle peppers. The arroz caldo was not the highlight of the meal but still very good. Im not sure if adding fried chicken inside the soup adds much to the dish (I would have preferred it to the side). On a cold day, it was warm, comforting, and not too salty.Service was perfect. Got two takehome boxes and the food microwaved well. Ang sarap!Nice comfortable indoor vibes. Will return with my sister soon.
Kakuna Sushi
75 S Abbott Ave, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
This place is BOMB! My friends randomly discovered it and weve been coming here ever since. The fish is of good quality and very fresh, the rolls are flavorful and HUGE (like no joke, you only need ONE...TRUST ME), and the service is awesome. My favorite roll is the Umami but Ive also had the Aloha and Kakuna which are both delish.BTW, super affordable for sushi. Three rolls (remember, they are HUGE) and six pieces of nigiri (also big) is just $65. This is enough to feed a family of 4-5.The place is a little small, so if youre going for lunch, I would suggest getting there before noon. The first time I went, it got busy right about then and there were no tables left. The second and third time I went, it was not overly crowded, but I can see it getting busy about noon-ish. Not sure how this place does on the weekends or for dinners, but lunches seemed to get packed fast. This restaurant is in a standalone structure so theres plenty of parking.Would def go back and cant wait to take my family!Yay for good sushi in Milpitas!
GAOs BBQ & Crab
1741 N Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
Title: A Delightful Fusion at Gao's Kabob and Crab: Where East Meets West!Review:Today, 12-30-23,I had the pleasure of dining at Gao's Kabob and Crab, and I must say, it was a culinary journey worth raving about. This unique eatery brings together the rich flavors of Chinese skewers and the zesty tang of Cajun seafood, creating a fusion that tantalizes the taste buds in the most delightful way. From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance set the stage for a memorable dining experience. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, making us feel right at home. We started with their signature Chinese skewers - each one was a masterpiece, perfectly seasoned and grilled to smoky perfection. The lamb skewer was particularly noteworthy, with its succulent, melt-in-your-mouth quality. But the real star of the evening was the Cajun seafood. We opted for the seafood boil, a medley of shrimp, crab, and corn, all drenched in a savory Cajun sauce that had just the right kick of spice. It was a messy affair, but utterly satisfying and delicious. What truly surprised me was their kids' menu - a thoughtful inclusion in such a specialized restaurant. My little one ordered the chicken tenders and fries, which were not only affordable but also perfectly crispy and tender. It's not often you find a place that caters so well to both adult and young palates. In conclusion, Gao's Kabob and Crab is a hidden gem that offers an extraordinary blend of flavors. It's a place where families can enjoy a diverse range of dishes, all served with impeccable quality and at a great value. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their mouthwatering menu!
Hapa Musubi
1658 S Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
The FoodMusubi is a pretty popular quick snack found in most Hawaiian restaurants. But it is uncommon to have a location that specialize in the snack, until Hapa Musubi opened. They specialize only in musubi, a simple Hawaiian and Japanese influenced meal. With a variety of options, I got several to try.- Chicken Teriyaki- Pineapple & Spam- Chicken Katsu- Cali RollThey were all pretty good, but I liked the Cali Roll and Pineapple & Spam the best. There are still quite a bit of other options so Ill need to return to try the others. The MiscellaneousHapa Musubi is within the shops of downtown, so getting by foot will be easier than by car. The inside is not big, but there are seating for those who want to sit down for a bite. The interior have quite the coloring and aesthetic, along with, quite literally, a wall of spam. They have a good selection of musubi to choose from, along with some side items. They prices are not bad, though I wish they were lower, it reasonable for downtown. Definitely recommend to give it a try if you are around the area.
Orange Square
1790 Milmont Dr, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
Horrible management/ownership at this Milpitas location during opening week. I was super excited to try this place since I've heard good reviews at their Santa Clara location.I placed the order in store at 12:48PM for the marinated pork chop square and braised pork belly square. Saw several people ordered after me already got their orders. I complained after 30mins wait and was told my order would be ready in 10mins. I waited another 10mins and still didn't receive my order yet. I waited for another 5mins then asked to cancel my order to get the refund. Magically my order was ready… by this time I've waited almost an hour for a meal I no longer look forward to. The employees said it's their first day here so I don't blame them, but I blame this on the unorganized ownership/management. The opening week is a complete mess. Don't come here! You've been warned.
Ichika
1728 N Milpitas Blvd, Milpitas, CA 95035, United States
Ideally, Id give Ichika a 3.5/5.Ichika in Milpitas offers a unique take on Kaiseki, a multi-course Japanese fine dining experience. The restaurant itself boasts a beautiful ambiance, with a mix of modern and traditional elements. Booths and sunken seating provide a great setting for groups, while natural materials and handcrafted furniture create a modern and sophisticated atmosphere. The service at Ichika was excellent. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the chef himself was happy to chat and answer questions. However, the omakase experience itself had some hits and misses. For a fixed price of $148 per person, the menu offers a seasonal selection of dishes. Our omakase experience included -Sakizuke: This was a solid start. It included 4 appetizers -1. abalone2. sweet shrimp, and hotate3. gobo (burdock root)4. seaweed and crab. All four appetizers, including the standout sweet shrimp and hotate (scallop), were fresh and delicious.Tsukuri (sashimi): The sashimi course featured four different types of fish, showcasing the quality of the ingredients. These 4 fishes were -1. Kanpachi2. Hotate3. Kurodai4. Akami (bluefin tuna)The hotate (sweet and delicious) and the bluefin tuna were the highlights of this course.Reisei Chawanmushi (cold steamed egg custard): Unfortunately, this dish fell flat. The custard itself lacked flavor, and while the foamy sauce helped a bit, it wasnt enough to save it.Nigiri (6 pieces of premium cuts): The first round of nigiri included 3 interesting pieces -1. Hirame (flounder) with truffle salt was a unique twist2. The Shima aji (stripejack) with ginger was a classic combination.3. Iwana (Arctic char from Iceland)Hirame and Iwana were my favorites from this nigiri round. The second round of nigir also included 3 pieces of premium cuts of fish -1. Kinmedai (golden eye snapper)2. Soy cured fatty tuna3. Hokkaido uni with slamon roeThe fatty tuna was buttery and soft (melt-in-your-mouth texture), and the Hokkaido uni with salmon roe was a perfect combination of sweet and salty. These 2 nigiri pieces definitely offered the rich flavors you expect in a high-end omakase. However, a heads up for those sensitive to wasabi - all the nigiri came quite generous with it. You can definitely request the chef to go lighter on the wasabi.Agemono (tempura): Both the pickled tempura and sweet potato in this course were a bit bland. A sprinkle of salt or a more flavorful dipping sauce would have been a welcome improvement.Ankake (fish in broth): This savory dish with white fish in a dashi broth was a comforting addition to the meal.Monaka (caviar and otoro): Outside of the nigiri pieces, this dish was the star of the show! The combination of caviar and melt-in-your-mouth otoro (fatty tuna belly) on a crisp wafer was a delicious burst of salty and creamy.Suimono (soup): The shrimp ball, mochi (rice cake), and sakura (cherry blossom) in this 7soup were a nice way to cleanse the palate before dessert. Though, as with other dishes, this dish lacked salt, too.Dessert (hojicha ice cream): The hojicha ice cream itself was good, but it lacked sweetness on its own. The provided honey black syrup helped, but overall, the dessert felt a bit underwhelming. In conclusion, Ichika offers a beautiful ambiance, friendly service, and a good variety of dishes in their omakase menu. However, some courses could benefit from stronger flavors and more creative execution. For the price point, I would rate it a 3-star experience. I wish they included more nigiri pieces in their omakase experience.
