California Pizza Kitchen at Stanford Shopping C...
136 Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto, CA 94304, United States
Did curbside pickup which was quite easy and convenient if you have kids asleep in the car. Got the chicken with brie sandwich, baked potato soup, chicken tequila pasta, cobb salad with ranch, red velvet cake and garlic cream pasta with fennel sausage and mushroom. Order was accurate and on time. Delivery person was nice and wearing a mask. Ive purchased the ribeye before and it was OK but its decent for not being a steak restaurant. Ive also had the mushroom, pepperoni and sausage pizza and thats my favorite. Kiddos enjoy the cheese pizza. The cauliflower crust is good and what we always have. The BBQ chicken pizza is flavourful but not my first choice. Lettuce cups are a-ight. Wouldnt get it again though. Fried egg rolls are standard. Red velvet cake is yummy. Since it was curbside, the ice cream is not included. The rewards program is okay but worthwhile since it is free. Before COVID, the restaurant always had a line over the weekends. Pretty small restaurant compared to other locations. Always had a great experience there

Namaste Indian Cuisine

My frequent dining experiences at Namaste Indian Cuisine have been exceptional. Located right on California Ave in Palo Alto, this cozy eatery exceeded all my expectations. The inviting aroma of spices is very welcoming, the tasteful decor is top-notch creating an ambiance that is warm and inviting. The host and staff are very friendly, attentive and welcoming. Ive been to other Namaste locations in Los Gatos and Santa Cruz. All have great food and unique characteristics, this Palo Alto location looks like a fine dining establishment with superior setup and elegant ambience.Food at this location is probably one of the best Indian cuisines Ive tried in US. Corn malai tikki, stuffed mushroom and paneer shashlik are my and my familys favorites. My daughter loves their butter chicken. Naan has the perfect texture and taste. We usually get Oyster Mushroom curry that my wife totally loves. The portion sizes were generous, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite.Overall, I cant recommend Namaste Indian Cuisine enough. Whether youre a seasoned fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is a must-visit.

An amazing place. Im so happy that they opened the restaurant. It is so important that we have a luxurious and kosher place in the Bay Area. Thank you. We will be back soon. kosher!!!
Rara
201 California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94306, United States
We were in Palo Alto for a day and came across Rara, a Nepalese restaurant with amazing reviews and so we had to try it and it certainly did not disappoint. We were greeted by Supriya who took our order and explained everything we asked about thoroughly and patiently. Even when she had to go in the kitchen to clarify a few items for us, she kept a smile on her face throughout. We went for almost everything she recommended which were the cauli 8848 and akbare chicken wings for appetisers. They were a little spicy, nothing we couldn't handle, but caution for people who do not take spice well. Overall to us, it was well balanced and we could not stop raving about the flavors. Then came the Momo which we had read in another yelp review claiming that it was the best in the Bay Area, and though I have not tried many, I must say, this was delicious. There were so many types of momo styles to choose from, but we chose the tomato sesame soup in lieu of the cold weather and it felt like a nice warm hug.To keep the experience super authentic, we ordered the dal bhat khana with meat set which we were told is what the locals would usually eat. It is basically a rice platter that comes with dal (lentil soup), meat curry (we chose fish), spinach, fried okra, pickled radishes, tomato chutney and papad (lentil chips). The flavour combinations were interesting and you definitely get some umami out of this. I would say it's value for money because you get one spiced tea or buttermilk drink to try and a dessert at the end.It was paired with shikarni which is a creamy, rich, and decadent dessert made up of hung yoghurt, pistachios, sugar and spices. I believe traditional shikarni does not contain cream cheese from what I've read, but this one did and it totally elevated the dish.We even had the chance to speak to the restaurant manager, Ishav, who shared that this restaurant is only 3 months old but we were surprised to see operations run so smoothly and food tasting like perfection like as if they'd been open for a long time. There is a sense of synergy between everyone who works there, because they come from the same community, everyone is either family or is treated like family in the team and it definitely translates into their food & service.Their mission is to share their cuisine with others and the large, beautiful pictures of Rara lake & mountains is put up in order to invoke curiosity and interest in Nepal as a tourist destination. With that said, the calm music and ambient lighting could mentally transport one to such a place.I would totally come back here again for more! Thank you for the warm hospitality Supriya, Anis, Ishav, and chefs!
Iki Omakase
460 Ramona St, Palo Alto, CA 94301, United States
Opened just over a month ago, Iki Omakase is a gem transporting you from the heart of Silicon Valley to the vibrant streets of Tokyo. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere is captivating. The modern yet elegant design sets the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey.Iki Omakase is an intimate omakase experience with 2 seating times - one early in the evening (5pm) and one later in the evening (8pm). Be prepared to spend at least 2 - 2.5 hours to enjoy the whole menu. 8 person standard counter seating area where you get to chat with the chef and experience all the preparation right in front of your eyes - it doesnt get any more intimate than that. Though I will say that a big part of your experience depends on the people around you. We had a really loud lady seated next to us at the counter, and after a while, it got a bit annoying and made it harder for us to have our own conversation (not the fault of the restaurant). Our chef, Lee, was very nice and funny, so that made for an overall good experience. With 1 server to take care of all the parties, the service was definitely slow at times, so yeah, Id say the service could have been better. But kudos to our server for doing her best and staying on top of things. It started slow, but soon after, our server was very attentive and regularly checked in on us. The star of the show, undoubtedly, was the exquisite food. The freshest seasonal ingredients are transformed into works of art on your plate. Each bite is a symphony of flavors and textures, a testament to the chefs exceptional skill and dedication. For $175 pp omakase experience (changing to $195 pp in April), you get bang for your buck. Youll definitely be full by the end.Our experience started with 5 appetizers, which included uni, chawanmushi, and sashimi. Our main course included 10 nigiri pieces and some additional dishes in between. Here is a full list of our main course items and dessert (excluding appetizers).1. Shim aji2. Golden eye snapper3. Bluefin tuna (cured in soy sauce for 2 hours)4. Leek and cucumbers5. Cherry salmon6. Mackerel7. Snow Crab soup8. Soft braise octopus with daikon (braised for an hour)9. Black seabream (kurodai)10. Firefly squid11. Fatty tuna12. Uni13. Anago (sea water eel)14. Miso soup15. Yogurt ice cream (yuzu)Each nigiri was fresh and delightful. Our chef asked us about our wasabi preference, and that was a very thoughtful touch. Towards the end, our chef had some leftover fish, so he combined all of it to make Maki rolls for all of us, free of charge. It was very nice of him to do that.Overall, the chefs genuine warmth and dedication to hospitality really elevates the dining experience. Its worth a visit.
LeQuy

The restaurant isnt clean enough, in my opinion. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich, wings, soup #34, and the chicken and shrimp fried rice. Everything was missing spices. After adding a lot of salt and pepper to everything, the food tasted better, but overall, Im surprised at how this place had such a high rating. Six small pieces of wings were $17, which is pretty expensive, especially for the quality of food. Its a one and done kind of experience.
The Redwood by Chef Julien
450 Bryant St, Palo Alto, CA 94301, United States
OMG, are we lucky all so lucky to be able to have food any weekday from our local French chef, Julien, at such a lovely location.Weve enjoyed Juliens weekly meals at home all through the pandemic and have brought his quiches to potlucks several times to rave reviews.Speaking of which, if you dont want to do your own cooking, you can get Juliens takeout or have him cater your dinner party. Imagine your friends delight when they hear your dinner will be cooked by a French chef!At the cafe weve tried several sandwiches, including the croque monsieur, which was amazing.Though I havent tried the croissants, Ive witnessed people raving about them. Chef Julien has tracked down the best version, sourcing them straight from France. The sign outside reads--for true foodies only. Cute, but Id say all will love this local treasure.Though The Redwood Cafe is attached to Avenidas, anyone can eat here. The food is amazing and for Palo Alto the prices are quite reasonable.During our many visits, unlike restaurants on University, weve never had trouble parking nearby. That said, should you go at a busy time, theres a multi-story parking lot across the street. You can stroll and shop nearby before and/or after lunch.Bon Appétit to those lucky enough to find Chef Juliens French cafe.
Kanji Sushi & Ramen
4131 El Camino Way, Palo Alto, CA 94306, United States
New Sushi Spot Alert in the Bay Area! ??As someone who has become a sashimi fan and experienced high-quality raw fish from Omakase, lve become quite particular about quality and freshness. What surprised me here was how affordable everything was, from their sashimi, sushi, ramen, to bento boxes--while still maintaining high quality. I got their sashimi platter which came with thick-cut pieces. Although I usually prefer thin cuts, this was an exception because of how fresh it was. Usually, tuna isnt my favorite and I have to smother it with a lot of soy sauce, but this time I didnt have to use any for the sashimi pieces. I liked how each piece had a bit of lemony flavor and a little bit of wasabi (not too much).Besides the sashimi, we also tried the Toro Heaven Roll which actually tasted like heaven--by far one of the BEST sushi rolls lve ever had. There wasnt too much rice; it had more filling, and the toro piece on top was literally melt-in-your-mouth.For their bento boxes, they let you choose three items to customize--I chose the fish katsu, gyoza, and assorted tempuras. All of them were crisped to perfection, and they served house-made sauces with each of those appetizers. The tartar sauce was my favorite and paired so well with the fish katsu, kind of reminiscent of fish and chips.Lastly, their tonkatsu ramen broth was not too salty and light. I liked the pieces of pork-it was super thinly sliced and melt-in-your-mouth.The owner, Rita, was so nice and welcoming. I will definitely come back here again for their sashimi, sushi, and bento boxes.Honestly, if youre looking for affordable and high-quality sushi, I highly recommend checking out this new spot in the Bay Area!

I like their crunchy tacos. Jus too expensive compared to other taco restaurants and trucks..for 3 tacos that are like quesadillas with a soup dip is like $15 to $16. Id go to in n out n get a real fill up for under $10.
Driftwood Deli & Market
3450 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA 94306, United States
Food: 6.8 / 10I recently visited Driftwood Deli Market and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their sandwiches. Despite being a small market, they have an impressive selection of meats, cheeses, and toppings to choose from. The staff was friendly and helpful in guiding me through their menu, and the sandwiches were made fresh to order. I ordered the roast beef sandwich with provolone cheese and all the fixings, and it was absolutely delicious. The bread was toasted to perfection and the ingredients were all fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere of the deli market was cozy and inviting, making for a pleasant lunch experience. Prices were also reasonable considering the quality of the food and the location. If youre looking for a great sandwich in a small, local setting, Driftwood Deli Market is definitely worth a visit. I will definitely be back soon to try some of their other offerings
