Food and service was fair at best. We arrived at 2:15 and when we asked if we could be seated outside was told no because they were closed. I stated that the hours posted said they closed at 2:30. We asked if we could take out since we could not get a table, and that was allowable with their posted closing time looming. We ordered the following dishes to share: pad see ew, drunken noodles, pad thai, and spicy thai basil. The best of these was the drunken noodles, and they were average at best.Lunch dishes were all under $12 and included soup. We order five lunch specials and we did not receive one order of soup. One of our noodle dishes had burnt veggies which tainted the taste of the noodles and sauce. The pad thai was incredibly disappointing. I am used to pad thai dishes having bean sprouts, cilantro sprigs, and ground peanuts sprinkled on top. We ordered two pad thai dishes and asked for medium spice. The medium spice dish appeared to be prepared no differently than the mild one. The cooks just sprinkled the top of all the noodles with thai pepper flakes. My experience when ordering thai is that the spices are incorporated into the sauces not added seasoning after cooking. Further, the veggies were sparse and the tofu was soggy. The sauce was sweet and greasy, too.I would not recommend this restaurant if you are searching for delicious and authenticly prepared thai. I was disappointed we tried this restaurant instead of one further away in Monterey. Also, if your restaurant advertises being open until 2:30, be open until 2:30.Two thumbs down.
