Ph King 2 Restaurant
6830 Stockton Blvd #180, Sacramento, CA 95823, United States
I was in the mood for a hot bowl of Pho and fortunately this craving overtook me while I was driving north on Stockton Blvd near Florin, a location surrounded by numerous restaurants offering this famous Vietnamese dish.Pho King is a small easy to miss restaurant just a stones throw away from its more famous rival, Pho Saigon. Years ago I visited this restaurant and it always stuck in my memory how good the food and service was. Tonight was no different.I was a little surprised to see how empty the place was right around dinner time but it was a weekday and customer count isnt always a good indicator of quality. The waitress immediately greeted me with a friendly smile and motioned for me to sit wherever I wanted. I knew what I wanted and ordered a small bowl of #6. The soup arrived piping hot and the plate of bean sprouts, jalapeno pepper and basil looked fresh and crisp.I immediately dropped the veges into the steaming broth and mixed them around with the noodles hiding underneath. It was now time to dig in. I grabbed my chopsticks and pulled out a giant clump of noodles. Yum! Sometimes restaurants make the Pho broth way too salty and I always am prepared to ask for a hot cup of water to dilute it. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that wasnt necessary this time. The savory broth had just the right amount of salt. The meat was tender and the tendon had just the right soft and slightly chewy texture.Pho King IMO maintains its rank as being one of the best places to eat Pho in Sacramento.
Ph Bolsa Restaurant
5815 Stockton Blvd #A, Sacramento, CA 95824, United States
I went there back in the day and had a great meal. When I went to pay (this was probably 20 years ago) they didnt take ATM and I didnt have money. The older lady who Ive always guessed was the owner told me with a smile on her face not to worry and pay next time. I came back with my wife and paid for our dinner and the lunch I had before. Since then Ive taken countless people, family and friends there. Its always been good and Ill never forget the kindness of that lady the first time I went there. My mother was always a big fan of the crispy pan fried noodles with seafood combination. Its hard for me to go back to this restaurant since my mother has died. Maybe Im afraid the older lady has passed too. Anyway I will always be a fan of Pho Bolsa.

Five stars here means that it is an outstanding example of what it holds itself out to be. Its a Southeast Asian restaurant where the service is a little better, the egg rolls a little crispier, the flavors a little brighter than usual. On top of that it adds Cambodian cuisine -- the product of a centuries-old culture with its own special refinement that is not often the general Amrican public. Add all that to an up-to-date and sparkling interior and youve got one happy dining experience.Located a literal stones throw from the University of the Pacific campus, its on the side of Pershing that is still moving upscale. Led by this gem of a restaurant. If you like Thai dont miss it.

Well its one of those hot days, triple digit days, where i dont know what i want to eat or where to go. Since i was in the area to do some errands, i was like you know i always want to come here, but never did. It was just one of those days its perfect to make a stop and try it out..I went not he website and saw they have $4.95 for lunch specials. well let me tell you what comes with $4.95 - soup of the day, rice, entree, and a crispy egg roll. You kidding me, eating like a king on a budget is what Im saying..So here i go inside and was like wow this place is small with very minimal tables. Of course it is own by asians. lots of vegan or non vegans like me who is down for anything, it was exciting for me to try something bomb..I went for the Mongolian Beef wonder with steam rice..The soup of the day reminds me of egg flour soup, but without the egg. The soup contained a thick gravy like soup, with carrots, pea, and some pasta noodles in it..The crispy egg roll which came with the meal was actually crispy and great with the dipping sauce. The egg roll contained veggies and vermicelli which i liked and will order again..The Mongolian beef came out looking like the real deal but its vegan soy meat which Im like wow. The Mongolian wonder came with a nice blend of green chives, red bell pepper, and contained no spicy when i requested spicy. The flavoring of the Mongolian beef was missing something, but presentation was nice. The steam rice is not jasmine rice but it is steam white rice tho..overall the price is great and i was satisfy with my meal. Was the food like wow? well it didnt do the wow for me. But i am willing to come back for a repeat and try other stuff on the menu with my vegan friends. it is a deal when you balling on a budget and trying to watch how you spend. umm service was alright didnt come back to check how everything was or refill water but she was busy and only one waitress so its understandable. Thanks for reading and keep it chop chop yo!
Wat Dhammararam Buddhist Temple
3732 Carpenter Rd, Stockton, CA 95215, United States
Happy New Years 2023! I have never seen so many people here celebrating the new year. This is by far the best it has been since I have been coming here as a kid. The temple and celebration has grown and only got better. The amount of vendors selling Cambodian food has grown vastly over the years as well. The lines were pretty long for each vendor- expect to wait 30mins at least to get some food. I would advise people to come earlier now than usual. Usual I would come around 11am to 12pm. This time around I got there around 11am and the parking lot was already half full. Now for The temple itself, it is always getting better. They spend a lot of time and money to expand and make the temple a more beautiful place. One really needs to visit the temple to see everything they have to offer besides the new years. The temple is open almost everyday for you to visit and enjoy the statues they have.

Lao, Der
5646 N Pershing Ave, Stockton, CA 95207, United States
BEWARE!! reviews are from families and friends. If you dont know real Laos food and want a overpriced Laos vision of panda express, come here!!Came to visit from Alameda, got hungry but exit the restaurant hangry. Its good that they focused on ok Service and having a clean modern look but after eating I realized its all a front.Sever:need to be more educated on the food she is severing. When asking questions, she will answer you questions by removing the question mark or whats. Like, what Garlic sauce come with this fish dish? They fish dish comes with garlic sauce WT...Food:Egg roll (not going to call it imperial roll, nothing imperial about them) it was sugar rolls!!!at first we thought it was just the sauce, which is like soda syrup. until we tried the rolls itself. The roll was supposed to be meat egg roll but was packed with cabbage. so yeah What a rip off!Papaya salad was sweet and didnt seem fresh.Lemongrass chicken was just one chicken thigh filet and it was sweet. no lemongrass flavor.I feel like the only spice they own is sugar and some fish sauce. Veggies tasted like dirt and all i can think about was that one tiktok where the cook is in the walk-in and hear noise, when lifting the box he see a bunch of rat diving in in the box of lettuce. I think the cook works here. lolPrice:Overprice comparing to the quality of food provided. Like this has to be a joke. I get way better food for places in the bay that have a better view and doesnt make me feel like I have cavities.FYI i shouldnt have to compare food here to food to where I live. It should all be the same. Especially, if you call yourself authentically Lao!!!!As an Southeast Asian, our food is known to pop and have multiply flavor dancing on your taste buds not have you think is this dessert. OMG good thing we did order dessert.

Pretty new in here, its big and spacious with tables not being so close to each other..The menu has a good variety, or course there is pho from chicken to beef..I was going to get the beef pho but instead I got the hot pot for one but sub the regular noodles with fresh noodles instead..Fresh noodles is what the new foodie trend is going on. The noodles are same as chow fun noodles but cut thin suppposingly. But hey gotta try it with pho next time. The fresh noodles are delivered every morning too. So fresh noodles it is pho sure..The hot pot comes with salmon, tofu, scallop, shrimp, fish balls, mussels, pork, and veggies such as Napa cabbage, emoji, and tong Choy and pea pods too..For the price of one which is a good deal and you a little bit of this and that. Im like yay cant decide what to put next in my mouth lol... Hot pot was sort of like making my own pho at the table with all the ingredients provided... And Im a sucker for hot pot any time of the day..Other than hot pot i tried the 2 person family meal. Which came with sweet and sour shrimp soup, clay pot cat fish, and charbroiled pork chop, with steam rice..Also had the combination pho. It was ok, nothing like wow. But it was great and love all the condiments on the table to make my own sauces to dip with my pho.
