Chung Dam Tofu
18921 Norwalk Blvd, Artesia, CA 90701, United States
Updated on 4/12/21Stopped by last minute for a quick bite and they did not disappoint. Place wasn’t very busy around 8:30pm on a Friday night, so outside was already cleaned up and only had tables set inside. I told them we had a dog with us and preferred to sit outside instead of leave our dog inside the car and they quickly set us up outside even though they had to bring out the chairs again with all the place settings. Needless to say, service was excellent from there on and food was on point as usual. Kalbi ribs, bulgogi, tofu soup and cold noodles were all fantastic.———-They are open for dine in! I wish I lived closer as they are quickly becoming a favorite Korean dining spot for me. They didn’t have the chayote squash I loved before, but the cucumber kimchi was the best I’ve ever had. The night was pretty chilly but I promised myself that I would try their cold noodle (neng myun) special, which is BOGO. The picture shows one traditional cold noodle and the other being spicy noodle (no broth) but found out you have to order two of the same type, so we went with the traditional which is my favorite. It didn’t disappoint, but I did learn that the 2nd/free one doesn’t come with meat or egg, so not best for sharing. Really good if you’re hungry and want extra noodles, broth and veggies. Will revisit for next warm afternoon. Also ordered the kalbi ribs and tofu soup combo. Pricy at almost $30, but some of the best tofu soup I’ve had. Tofu soup seems tp be pretty standard for every neighborhood these days and most are pretty good, but when you have a chance to try a premium version like the one here, you appreciate the extra care and layers of flavor, not to mention having protein in every bite vs searching for it and wondering if there was any. The kalbi is good, but have to admit it’s not the best but right up there with some of the best and not as greasy or fatty as some others. All in all, a great experience including service which is spotty at many Korean restaurants due to language, but they do try very hard and is more than above avg our drinks were refilled, banchan refilled and they checked on us frequently even though we were outside and the only ones dining in. It’s too bad the seating is limited outside since the set up is so nice, but hoping they can keep the business running until we can eat inside again.
Cho Dang Tofu House - Cerritos
12245 Artesia Blvd, Cerritos, CA 90703, United States
I craved a hot bowl of tofu soup (soondooboo) on a rainy and cold evening, and Cho Dang Tofu restaurant satisfied the craving. Not once had a bad experience with their quality and taste on my past visits. I ordered the perilla seed with mushroom soondooboo ($12.99) at the medium spice level. For the first timers try the seafood & beef or my favorite bean paste soondooboo that comes with clam, beef, and mushroom. The meal comes with a container with the yummy side dishes (banchan), white rice, and a fried fish. I recommend that you reheat the soondooboo in a pot and add an egg immediate after you turn off the fire.Picked up the new To-Go Bento set ($12.99) beef bulgogi and the restaurant is having a 20% off promo until end of January 31st on the Special Bento set ($16.99) or the To-Go Bento. The Special comes with additional banchans. A good amount of bulgogi with onions and no funny business with onions hiding underneath the bulgogi. This set will fill you up.Will come back to try their other specials and new menu items

Kin-D Thai Kitchen

Food is still good compared to the previous Thai Express. Got the pad se ew beef and thai tea. Tastes similar. They painted/remodeled the front area which looks nice. They had 4 cooks in there running the line compared to the 2 prior older thai ladies that were machines.Only real criticism is they jacked up the prices and decreased the portion sizes. Used to be about $18 for my order, now $25 and the tray is less full. Such is life. Ill probably hit it a few more times with the whole family and get their take. Similar thing happened to Rice Things down the way.
Pocha Eats
13337 Artesia Blvd, Cerritos, CA 90703, United States
Had a great experience coming to Pocha Eats at dinner time the first day of their soft opening! I came with my family and everyone really liked the food. We started with the seafood pancake which was gigantic and everyone liked it! (including my picky, little sister who didnt want to try it at first )We also got the royal soba which was really yummy and refreshing. My little sister loves ramen so she got the spicy seafood ramen but be careful its pretty spicy! She loves spicy foods so she enjoyed it at the restaurant and as leftovers the next day! My dad got the spicy pork and finished his whole plate. I ordered the grilled tteokbokki for the table and everyone liked that the rice cake was perfect with a crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside! We were pretty stuffed at that point but we had also ordered a bulgolgi udon which everyone liked! My mom even said she usually doesnt like udon but she really liked this one because of the texture of the noodles!!I also enjoyed the playlist of kpop songs playing on the speakers! Our server was also the sweetest and was happy to bring us anything we asked for! Would love to come back and try the kimchi jjigae or army stew next!
Happy Bee Kitchen

My husband and I had the best experience at this lovely restaurant . The food was delicious and truly authentic Cantonese cuisine . They used the best fresh ingredients and flavored everything just right, not greasy or salty . I love the cleanliness of this restaurant and best of all friendly welcoming service from all the staff . I had a pleasure to meet the lovely new owner, Grace and her sister Kimmy . They are so sweet so kind and generous, their chefs are came from a famous and respectable restaurant in Hong Kong and China . I ordered 3 simple dishes : the first is their famous Hainan Chicken, it was juicy flavorful and definitely delicious. Second is seafood tofu hotpot, there are plenty of fresh seafood, tofu and mushroom I ate so much and still have lots of left over, third one is sautée sweet pea sprout with garlic it’s fresh crunchy and super flavorful. Because we love the food so much I also ordered Togo the Honey walnut shrimp for our kids . This place by far is one of the best Chinese restaurant in Cerritos and Artesia area, and it’s definitely our favorite place to come for delicious meal & friendly service. Thank you so much for the best dinner after a long day at work .
Hasu Japanese Izakaya & Grill

There are a lot of good options here. We were seated fairly quickly and the service was really nice. Inside is modern and fancy but nothing too crazy.Noise wise it's great. Standard dinner conversation no overbearing music and low lighting this place can great for a date. You don't have to yell over anyone and it's not too dark you feel like you're in a cave.If you do the food vlog thing, lighting is great.First time here and was satisfied with basically 98% of the food, won't dock a star down because of how everything else and the food came out way above expectations.I'm just super picky with karaage in general and it still tasted good here but maybe it wasn't as juicy as I expected? The rest of the food we ordered was perfect. Most places that serve fried calamari have way too much batter. This place used a very minimal amount so most of what you're picking up is the squid in a thin layer of batter but it's still crunchy.Other places could just dump it in a fryer and hand it out to you but they seem to take some care for just calamari. The portion is also just right. Not too much and not too little so you have enough room to snack on everything else they have available. Some of the dessert options seem to be limited later into the night so come a little earlier if that's a priority for you. We didn't come here for dessert so no points to knock off but for what they had available, it was pretty good.
Shin-Sen-Gumi Shabu-Shabu
1695 Artesia Blvd, Gardena, CA 90248, United States
Intimate, cozy and yet full of friendly staff. I have to admit I was a little intimidated when I first walked in because most of the customers seem to be regulars. My feelings were put at easy by the friendly staff and owner. They took the time to explain their process and teach me how to use the equipment. The meat options are not large but the quality is superb. The meat cuts are excellent and so are their vegetable trays. Their shrimp is cleaned, peeled and without the heads. So, you are actually getting to enjoy your flavors. I have gone to the buffet style shabu shabu restaurants but I have to say this place was better than those. The quality of the food and broths is impressive. The buffet style versions are full of fillers but they give the illusion that you are getting more for your money (lots of fillers).I paid around $30 for myself and that included their basic meats, vegetables and soda. If you ask me, the best $30 in a shabu shabu style restaurant. I will definitely visit again. The restaurant is located in a small shopping center sandwiched between In N Out and Panda Express.

We’ve been buying Delicious Vegan Chinese food for several years... WONDERFUL!As a vegetarian for over 28 years, let me tell you, this little place is a true GEM!This is not a sit down restaurant No chairs, No tables... Just refrigerated cases with lots of clear plastic containers. We have never been disappointed and suggest you select several and go home or work and ENJOY!Some dishes we love over & over:Chinese roast “Pork”, mustard greens & tofu, Chinese “Fish” (2 varieties), radical radish (Spicy), also two versions of “chicken” and many more!Don’t let the tiny building turn you off. Go in and ask Gilbert any questions you have. Tell him Rosie & Jay sent you.... Have Fun!
NAM Kitchen

As a first timer, my first impression upon entering the restaurant were:Wow the decor is very well done and the AC feels great in here.Immediately followed by:Why are there so many dirty tables? We came in on a Sunday, late afternoon. It took about 10-15 minutes for someone to grab our order. The Toast QR code/website for them doesnt work properly (yet?). Dont expect the super speedy service you might expect from a smaller mom and pop Vietnamese restaurant.Once we did get our two filet mignon pho bowls, we enjoyed the broth, the healthy portions of noodles, generous accoutrements, and overall flavor.I do believe this place is new so theyre working out staffing and flow. There were tables still requiring bussing as we left the restaurant. An hour or so of dirty dishes sitting on multiple tables. Our server was short and rushed. There were spilled sprouts that he left on the ground next to us for half the meal (about 15 minutes). To a first timer, it makes me question the overall cleanliness of the restaurant (and its kitchen).I hope that this establishment can get its service in order as it matures. Though the food was great, we are left a little less than satisfied with the service. I believe it betrays how well they designed the space and the quality of their food.Im hoping to revisit this place sometime in the future and if the service element improves, I will update my rating for this restaurant.
Lees Sandwiches
1451 Artesia Blvd, Gardena, CA 90248, United States
Their Euro (Europen) Roast Beef and Turkey Sandwich on a Croissant is delicious. The delicious Croissant and other ingredients made the sandwich so delicious I did not need to add mustard or the delicious sour pickle spear that came with it.I ate the pickle spear separately. It tasted more like a good kosher pickle such as Claussen than pickles that have too much vinegar taste.Their plain Croissant with nothing on it is also delicious. And their sweet sesame balls are delicious. The staff was courteous and friendly. The restaurant is very clean and quiet. It is located on the west end of a long strip shopping mall with lots of parking and with other restaurants and food businesses.
