I discovered New Moon a few years back and I'm a big fan of the food, excellent service, and modern, open, atmosphere. And there's a full bar! Last weekend, I planned a 33-person reunion dinner for ex-colleagues/friends. I worked with the manager, Pook H., to arrange table set up, time and menu. To ease the strain of ordering/cooking/serving 33 separate meals/dishes on a busy Saturday night, we decided on a pre-fixe menu (served ‘family style') from their catering menu a few days earlier, while allowing others to order ala carte off the menu at the restaurant. The pre-fixe meal was fresh, delicious, beautiful to look at, plentiful, and very satisfying. Pook had sent a per person estimate and was kind enough to substitute in one of their specialty dishes that wasn't on our pre-fixe menu for no additional charge. The price per person was an incredibly good value as it included tax, 18% gratuity, and refillable beverages for a discounted $2. This made it so easy for everyone. Wonderful service. We were looked after by amazing wait staff/managers who made us feel like we were their only responsibilities. Everyone was friendly, helpful, responsive, and made us feel really welcome, like we were in their home. And the restaurant was full of other diners and large groups. I have come here for lunch and small dinners with friends and it is always good, but specifically I wanted to recommend New Moon as an option for large group gatherings. They do everything well. The menu: started with the complimentary fried won ton chips with slightly spicy sweet and sour sauce (addictive), followed by their famous Chinese Chicken Salad (so fresh and light), Honey Glazed Chicken with Orange (fresh, light, crispy and not overly sweet), Shelby Sweet & Spicy Beef (tender, a little spicy, and one of their specialties), Braised String Beans (crispy and really flavorful), BBQ Pork Chow Mein, (an old-fashioned favorite, really good), and white and/or brown rice. The meal ended with their signature dark/white chocolate covered fortune cookies. Thank you, New Moon. Everyone had a great time, loved the restaurant, the atmosphere, the service, and the food.
Cibo Thai

Amazing, fast, and inexpensive Thai food with a friendly atmosphere. Every time Ive ordered take out its the same happy, polite staff and the same fantastic quality. I recommend the golden tofu to everyone I take here! The sauce it comes with is divine. Havent been disappointed with anything Ive ordered yet! Cibo Thai comes highly recommend not only as an amazing neighborhood hole in the wall, but as a genuinely incredible, little known, piece of Los Angeles best cuisine. I must have driven by thousands of times before I finally decided to stop in, but I am so glad I did! By far one of my favorite local eats!
Zen Sushi and Gourmet Asian Cuisine

Went there for lunch today and the food is average at best, was served overcooked orange chicken and a miso soup that had been sitting long enough for the tofu to be half dissolved... it took a noticeable wait for someone to acknowledge my party at the restaurant entryway- no hosts or hostesses for approximately 4 minutes. The booths were astoundingly filthy as of 12/02/2016.
House of Joy - La Crescenta

One of the best Korean-Chinese restaurants in the area. There are plenty of these type of restaurants from LA to Inland Empire but this place is one of the better spots. We ordered the green beans, mayo tofu, black bean noodles, spicy fried chicken, and Mongolian beef. Only item I would say is a bit disappointing would be the black bean noodles, it can get really salty and has just too much onion (and I love onions). Everything else exceeds expectations.
