Seoul Tofu & Korean B.B.Q
6050 Mowry Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
A nice Korean food restaurant. Like the Tofu soup best. Also, nice soup noodles( bit too salty) and seafood pancakes are very nice taste!Lots of seats here, not crowded. Parking is convenient. You may experience the Korean tv program inside, interesting.

Hinodeya Newark
5724 Thornton Ave B, Newark, CA 94560, United States
This is probably the second or probably third Hinodeya location I've been to in the Bay Area…?! And Hinodeya does not fail with their ramen ? honestly. I was rather quite impressed with this location, but became a little critical… but that's always a foodie's dream, as always. My friend and I decided to get Hinodeya after calling the restaurant and asking if they could take out bamboo shoots and seaweed (friend's personal preference), and they were absolutely accommodating. Hence, we went because we knew we were in for an experience. The chicken karaage was honestly a little bit disappointing — to say the least. While the chicken was good, the portion was a little too small. I had wished they could have served a bigger plate, because that for $10 was not really worth it.Then came the ramen. The broth was really rich and honestly I could taste how strong the dashi taste was. The wheat noodles were very spongy and very al dente, which was enough to mix along with the other things in there. Good crunchy garlic side too. The meat was very yummy and so was the spinach…The only thing i would have liked to see was a little bit more soup… it was a little too less and it got saturated by the noodles a little too fast. Now the atmosphere is honestly mid. I honestly would have wished the tables were more spread apart — but it's such a tight space where I had to be very aware of my surroundings. The location is prime location, just I wish they could have considered putting less chairs instead of so many more chairs.I'll definitely be coming back to eat here with my other friends — but for the meantime, I'm gonna let this location sit for now, and try the other ones.

Wakatobi Japanese Grill Hibachi and Sushi
35201 Newark Blvd F, Newark, CA 94560, United States
IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. These people absolutely played in our faces and had intent behind it. Should have known they were going to be terrible when my partner and I walked in and they had no customers or when while ordering the two men said something amongst each other in their language and laughed in a snarky manner. They even waved bye with smiling sarcastic faces knowing what they were doing. DO NOT GO. The owner or manager of this place should be ashamed of themselves and the people that work for them.My partner and I arrived to wakatobi around 9:40ish PM Wednesday, May 15th, 24. I wanted to leave but my partner did not so we gave it a shot. While looking at the menu the two men working in the front barely helped or seemed to want to be engaged with us. We ended up ordering the steak and shrimp and the steak chicken and shrimp habachi combos to go and this is what we got. Got all the way home and opened our food and these exact pictures is how we first saw our food. We did not touched it AT ALL before taking these pictures . Trusting the reviews and trying to be open and give small businesses a chance this is how we are treated. The little bits and pieces of steak and shrimp we did have were absolutely TERRIBLE tasting. Non-pleasing what so ever. We did not get chicken AT ALL after they repeated our order back to us EXACTLY HOW WE ORDERED it. Absolutely terrible. Given we live 30 minutes away and that we spent almost $100 here, I will seek to get something refunded or take them to small court claims because this is ridiculous. DO NOT GO.

Oyama BBQ
5492 Central Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
My first bad review is for this bistro that visited me twice.I had dinner very late due to work reasons. I was surprised that a new barbecue restaurant opened near my home that was open until 12 oclock. So I confirmed on Google and Xiaohongshu that the opening hours were indeed until midnight, and I planned to try it.The first time was when I arrived at around 8pm last Tuesday. The lights were all dark and the store was not open at all. However, it clearly said open on Google. Although I was disappointed that the trip was in vain, I thought that it might still open during the trial opening period. Its normal to be unstable. Just try again next time.So I called in advance today to confirm that it would be open until midnight. When I went to the store around 8:40 in the evening, the store was full, but there were no people queuing up. It didn't look very busy, so I filled out the waitlist at the door and I left my phone number and then stood at the door for a while, but no one came to greet me or say hello. Finally, I stopped a waiter who was delivering food to ask if he would call if there was a seat. Because it was cold, we wanted to go back to the car and wait for a table before getting confirmation. After the reply, we were told again that we would go to the car and wait for their call at that time. After returning to the car and waiting for more than half an hour, there was no movement at all. During this time, I called the store 4 times to inquire about the situation, but none of them got through. So I went back to the store to check and found that 4-5 tables had already been vacated. What did I ask the waiter? Why were we not informed of the situation and made to wait so long in vain? The answer he got was that there was no one at the door and he couldnt find us, but they clearly promised that they would call.In the end, we didn't eat at this restaurant. We don't know the taste, so we can't comment on it. But for a restaurant with such chaotic management and lack of respect for its customers, we won't come back no matter how delicious it is.

Hunan Mifen
39115 Cedar Blvd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Ive been going for 3 straight weekends since I found them and I think that already says a lot. I always get their spicy noodle soups and my favorite is the spicy beef intestines (more like beef entrails) noodle soup. With the recent cold, wet weather this dish is perfect to keep your body warm for hours before your next meal. The spicy noodle soup is a meifen (round rice noodle) base and the soup is delicious on its own but when you add the spicy stewed meats, it gets addictingly good!If you cant handle any type of spice I would suggest one of the other dishes as their spicy dishes cant be adjusted. Its a hot spicy, not numbing like mala. If you like the runny nose, mouth on fire type of spicy, this is the place for you.I order online to-go through their 39miles website which is just their phone number .com - super easy to order and includes pictures of the menu items. You order online and 10-15 min later you pick up and pay in store. They also have specials and promos on this site! Theyre currently adding more menu items like rice dishes and I hope they include more appetizers/sides soon. My new favorite spot for sure!

Himalayan Chef Kitchen
6180 Jarvis Ave # M, Newark, CA 94560, United States
If you like tomato paste, tomatoes, strained tomatoes and pureed tomatoes all in one dish for your curry base, this is the restaurant to go to. You will see red everywhere in your food And if you like small skimpy shrimp, about the size of a fingernail in pretty much the same red, red and red tomatoey curry, then this is the place to go to. Its one of those go once and done type of places. Sadly of 200+ Indian restaurants in Fremont/Union City/Newark area, not one appears to stand out. Thought this one did, but back to hoping someone opens a real restaurant that really has good food that can be called justifiable Indian cuisine. This Tomato House aint the one! Back to the drawing board!

Long Men Bay Hotpot
39055 Cedar Blvd #189, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Solid new hotpot spot in Newark! Sharing the plaza with Lion Supermarket, it has plenty of parking available. Decor screams high end faux luxury like many new Chinese hotpot spots all around the world. You sit and order via QR code at each table. What I like is that everyone can collaboratively order on the same tab from their own phone and see what has already been selected. Once you place the order you can still add more items on the same website. Prices are pretty fair for the bay area and are portioned well. They have 7 different soup bases to choose from and their two soup base pot ($13.98) is actually cheaper than their single spicy butter broth pot ($15.98). I was surprised by how flavorful their pork bone soup base was - I liked it even more than their hot spicy butter base! I ended up ordering mung bean noodles ($5.98) just to soak in that deliciousness for the end of my meal. Another stand out item I was pleasantly surprised by was their small chicken liver skewers ($4.98). Never had it taste this great and perfectly crunchy anywhere else!! I even accidentally left one cooking way too long and it was still perfectly crunchy and delicious! I would suggest skipping their self service sauce bar ($2.98 per person) as their broth is good enough to flavor the meats. I barely ended up using my sauce concoction. It does however come with unlimited fruits and desserts so if youre into that then $3 per person isnt bad. They offer several different qualities of beef from their regular supreme fatty beef ($10.98) to kobe beef ($48.98). I tried their lamb shoulder & marbled beef platter ($12.98), and supreme fatty beef and wasnt really blown away by the quality but again their soup bases made up for it. They have a lot of ingredients for all your hot pot needs. There were only 2 waitresses working the full restaurant for my Saturday lunch - they did a great job refilling the broths when it became low but flagging one down to check on an item was rather hard. My bill came with a 20% off promotion for their grand opening which I didnt see advertised but overall a great experience and Im looking forward to returning!

Rice and Spoon Vietnamese Cuisine
7060 Jarvis Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
Cute, cozy and clean.I walked through the door around 5:30 pm on a Sunday, not another customer in sight. The staff greeted me warmly and offered any seat my heart desired. Everything on the menu sounded delicious but the vegetable curry won my vote. It did not disappoint; fresh veggies, fried tofu, and flavorful curry.Their service was unbelievably fast. My first thought was its because I was the only customer, but this observation quickly changed. Within the time I sat down and received my meal, the restaurant filled. A group of seven ordered and was served just as promptly.Best part: Walking distance from aloft silicon valley hotel.

Yummy Time
5862 Mowry School Rd, Newark, CA 94560, United States
All I can say is get the sizzling rice soup. I have allergies (shellfish and nuts) and they were very accommodating. Best soup I've had in a long time. They have a combination but I asked for chicken only, minus the bamboo because my dad can't chew it. The soup had chicken, water chestnuts, snow peas, white onion, (I think a little bit shredded carrots) and green peppers. Now you may say green bell peppers but it's what makes this soup sooo delicious. This soup will be your go to for this up coming winter. I tried to get more but they were closed today. Yes the rice is fried fresh which makes it even more delicious ?

Chuan Xiang Spicy Cuisine
6092 Mowry Ave, Newark, CA 94560, United States
The newly opened Hunan Sichuan restaurant is a delightful journey into authentic spicy and non-spicy cuisine. With a traditional decor, it sets the stage for a menu that brilliantly captures the essence of Sichuans spicy and bold flavors. Highlights include the perfectly Hubei Du's house chicken, dry pot sichuan spicy chicken, boiled fish fillet with pickled Chinese cabbage and Spicy Eel.Hubei Dus chicken reminds me of nostalgia taste and they have side dishes to cook in the pot as well. You can take the soup to go and cook some of your favorite food at home.Dry pot sichuan spicy chicken and boiled fish fillet with pickled Chinese cabbage are both traditional cuisines and they make them perfectly.Overall, all dishes are super authentic and delicious, with correct amount of seasoning and flavor. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, enhancing the dining experience with their insights into Sichuan culinary traditions. Whether youre a lover of fiery dishes or new to Sichuan or Hunan flavors, this restaurant is a must-visit for an unforgettable culinary adventure.
