Mahan Indian Restaurant Best Indian Food Best I...
110 W Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Just to give you some background, I dont actively get Indian food so my review probably isnt the best. I will most likely be reviewing it based on the taste of the food. So, I went on a Sunday around 1:30 PM. I was able to get their buffet for $15; however, if you wanted to have bottomless champagne, you would pay $25 instead. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a narrower, but cozier restaurant in comparison to others that I have been inside. The decor on the walls seem to be traditional Indian paintings -- though dont quote me on this since I am not very familiar with Indian culture. The cleanliness was great and I saw one of the waitresses clean up both the table and the booth when people were leaving. Even though the entire restaurant was about 1/2 full when I entered, the service was impeccable. It wasnt until the restaurant was full when I left that the service started to slow down -- though not to an egregious level. The food itself was good. Each of the items had flavor and they had a decent selection from which you could choose. Some of the meats (like the chicken) were a bit dry, but other meats (like the goat curry and chicken curry) werent. I also liked the sweetness of the cantaloupe that they provided; it wasnt too sweet, but also not too bitter. As for the salad, I wish they had some more premium ingredients inside of it like tomatoes and cucumbers rather than just romaine lettuce, but it could be that people picked them off already whenever they got the salad.Overall, I enjoyed the restaurant and was bloated (my own fault) when I exited. I would recommend trying this place as it is a good amount of food/variety for the price!
Taco Bell
241 E Valley Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
I dont frequently visit Taco Bell as of late but decided its been long enough away from my go to fast food chain. Here lies the unfortunate chain of events that just occurred, Mar 24 2022 3pm @ Taco bell Valley Blvd, Alhambra Ca.1# Going in my daughter (7) and myself see they have a new freeze flavor on a big sign right next to the drive up menu, were siked out! I order two of the new flavor to be told 10 seconds later they only have the cherry portion, so I agree to that at least to give my daughter a treat.2. My daughter is a picky eater and it took her a long time to find anything she liked at the place that I Loved. That was their bean burritos, which I order special to her liking. In ordering today I was asked to repeat the request. I believe I said it on three occasions. No onions, no hot sauce please.3. When I gave her my card payment I wasnt handed back a receipt during the transaction. Knowing that they usually do a great job i though nothing of it at that moment.4. After waiting to receive my order a worker comes to the window, hands me my order and promptly closes the window. I open my order to find no sauce. I wait at the window and try to get the drive though workers attention, no luck. Im just waiting there as she is doing work inside, she can see me and i can see her but still she is busy. Finally she opens the window with a unfriendly look on her face and just stands there. I have to say, Im waiting for someone to ask me if I want sause. She apologized and I left.5. When I finally reached my destination I opened the bag and disappointingly realized they forgot to put in the bean burrito .OMG Taco Bell! Please work on your customer service, Transaction policy, and most of all, common sense to give what is payed for.P.S. To those of you who are thinking of visiting this location, please do. The food I got tasted delicious, and was presented in a timely manner. Just check your order prior to leaving. Also, dont be disappointed when their visual menu items dont reflect what they have in stock.

Deliciosas Pupusas (inside car wash)

Ive always wanted to try when I come here for a car wash. I tried ordering but they wouldnt accept my order because I dont speak Spanish. I tried but they wouldnt talk to me. I asked the lady next to me if they were closed but she said theyre open. She offered to order for me but I was already too heartbroken and ready to leave. Will revisit with a friend one day, hopefully I will get better luck and adjust my ratings. I will still come for the car wash though.
Nabemono Shabu Shabu
27 E Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
We were all excited to dig into some Shabu Shabu. But! We end up leaving with disappointment.Right from the moment we walked in, things felt off. The staff seemed totally uninterested. We hung around near the entrance until someone finally noticed and showed us to our seats. After that, it was like we didnt exist – they just plonked utensils on our table and vanished. We ordered using our phones.Food came pretty quick, Ill give them that. But it was the same story – the servers dropped off our stuff and disappeared like ninjas. The food was decent, veggies were fresh, and there was a good amount of meat.Though the short rib was a bit dry and tough for my liking.Later, we messaged some friends whod been here before. Turns out, you can get more servings of the veggies!!Who knew? Certainly not us!No one bothered to mention it, probably cause the servers barely talked to us.So, here we are, feeling kinda ripped off and having to tip on top of it – super frustrating ?Come eat Shabu Shabu with high expectationsThe result was that he left with disappointment. There is a strange atmosphere as soon as you enter the restaurantThe waiter didnt want to pay attention to our feelings.I waited at the door for a while before someone came to greet me.He didn't say much and asked us to be the bar counter. He put the cutlery on our seats and never spoke to us again.Ordering by mobile phoneThe food is served pretty quicklyHowever, the same thing happened. The waiter put the things down without saying a word and immediately left.I have to say that the quality of the food is pretty good. The vegetables are very fresh and the meat is generous. But the meat of short rib is a bit oldI personally don't love it very muchAfterwards, after eating, I sent messages to my friends who came over.I just found out that the dishes in this restaurant can be refilled. We have absolutely no idea! The clerk didnt mention it either because they didnt even talk to us!There is a kind of disadvantage and not being servedFeeling unwilling to tip even though you have to tip?
Grill Em All
19 E Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Check my review for the original Alhambra location at the end below.*************************************************************Review for Long Beach location (opened around Fall/Winter 2023)Sadly, the burgers are no longer good. They decreased the thickness of their patties. We ordered rare burgers, and were sadly disappointed when the burgers came out medium... all grey, not pink nor red, rather dry. I suspect they use frozen meat now.Reviewing food pictures of the old location (dating a year ago or more), one can observe the patties were really thick (maybe one and an half inch thick),which, along with fresh meat, allowed them to deliver truly outstanding burgers cooked to perfection.Similarly, the fries appears to have shrunk a bit as far as size (cross-section) goes. Additionally, they did not come out cooked properly... soft, mushy, greasy.I have been to their original location maybe 8-10 times and always have been amazed at the quality of their burger. So did my kids.RIP Grill them all. I will not go back. Very sad day.Service is good, location on beach good, attached public restroom so-so.My kids stated that this review was very fair.*******************************************************************Review for Alhambra location closed around fall 2023Hands down the best burger around. Fresh thick patties that are cooked as you wish. Can even get it medium rare. Good and inventive toppings. French fries were a little too salty, but Ill gladly come back. Such a departure from the frozen patties chain.
Kosuke
618-B W Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Kosuke is a cozy and quaint place with the inside resembling most restaurants in Japan. (Small area with about 11 tables, good service, and some Japanese paintings.) I have been to Japan -- as South as Fuokuoka and as North as Sapporo -- for an entire month to eat their cuisine. Kosuke didnt match any of the flavors I had while on my journey throughout Japan. For me though, I didnt enjoy the food. I ordered a tonkotsu ramen bowl, a classic pork broth ramen, and was disappointed with the flavor. The ramen soup, arguably the most important part of the ramen, was very 2-dimensional with a lack of depth of flavor. Typically, the soup should have a rich flavor due to simmering pork bones for several hours (typically in excess of 12 hours); however, I didnt taste the richness that I expected. The balance between the fatty pork flavor and salt confused my taste buds as they didnt harmoniously match. I felt like the pork flavor was okay initially but was overpowered by the salty flavor. I remember that I had to drink a lot of water.Since the ramen noodles depend on the broth to also give a lot of flavor, the noodles also fell flat. The only redeeming part that I believe they got correct was the vegetables. The egg was close, but it was slightly overcooked as the yolk should have been more liquid and been able to melt in my mouth.Even comparing Kosukes ramen to a few other ramen places that I have had in Southern California, Kosuke would still remain one of the lower quality restaurants. (Ramen Yamadaya is good in Costa Mesa). I still have yet to find a place as similar to Japan itself, but even I dont know how long that will be.
Sage Bistro
521 W Main St, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Only been open for less than 4 months and already hitting the off the chart grade point average stars, I just had to give this a place a look-see!Parking may be difficult as it is a very popular restaurant central spot, but be patient you wont regret your decision. The restaurant use to be an old coffee shop, so youll notice a bit of a narrow layout with a bit of coffee shop vibe. Dont take that as small, because it can fit big parties easily. My feeling immediately was how home-y i felt, comfortable and ready to eat!I came with my parents and they are strict vegetarian with not even garlic and onions in their diet. Usually this can be such a headache explaining the stress of how allergic they can be when touched. With such ease and comfort our servers knew immediately and even custom made some off the menu vegetarian dishes just for us.Not only were the presentation amazing, but on first bite into our veggie steak (made from scratch- panko, mushroom and potato) with mash potato on the side clearly gave you the feeling of eating a real steak, but with a plus no poor cows were harmed ! Right off the bat you can tell the freshness of each bite, the consistency was perfect and it almost really gave you a slight feeling of ...ummm are you sure this aint meat dude? I love how they knew we probably dont go to much steak houses, so they brought it to us! Side mushroom dishes and fresh asparagus really set the mood!I also got a generous portion of Pasta with sun dried tomato and seriously, the portion is so big I just had to pack it to go. Plus i still had to make space for some of their infamous Tiramisu!!!Tiramisu were yum..nough said !Over all 5 stars and above for amazing service, great service and did I mention delicious food?!?!?!?!

DISCLAIMER: I love mom and pop shops. This place is located inside a really small lot. FYI it is a bit hard to find from the street. But if you are around during the day, this place closes pretty early, then stop by. They got some good sammies. I had accidentally stumbled upon them when my regular viet hangout ran out of eggrolls.Lets get down to business.GRILLED PORK SPECIALNow this is a good sandwich. It has some sweet aftertaste but it is definitely delicious. KNOCK OUT! I will always order this sandwich when I have time on a lunch break. They do have jalapenos sometimes they just dont put them in unless you ask for it. I love that the have daikon in their house salad for the sandwiches. A lot of places now have taken them out to lower costs but having only shredded pickled carrots just isnt the same.CHARBROILED BEEFThis is similar to the pork special sandwich however it isnt as tender of a meat. Maybe because it is beef I dont know. It was just a little tough to chow down on at times.EGG ROLLSOne of my favorite things ever. I have an addiction. I will order twenty of these and just munch on them as if they were French fries throughout the day. They always have fresh piping hot ready to eat egg rolls. They do not come with fish sauce so order it if you like to dip like I do. Understand that you arent getting served in restaurant with the sides of veggies to wrap. You are paying for each one. Go buy some vegetables if you want to wrap.ICE COFFEEThe go to drink is the ice coffee. It is not overly sweet and it definitely has a nice kick to it. Nice pick me up.THAI TEAI am unfortunately not a fan of their thai tea. It isnt really sweet, they have to put some half and half in it or something. I wish it was better.BAGUETTESThey dont have the two foot long crispy baguettes like Mr. Baguette but it isnt bad. Grab some if you want to make some sandwiches during the week.ALL IN ALLCome in and grab something for a quick fix to your Vietnamese food craving if you are around. Just be aware that this place is a really small shop. Sometimes the wait is long sometimes it is super quick but there just isnt a lot of waiting room. So you will have to just wait outside. They will holler for you when order is ready!
In-N-Out Burger
1210 N Atlantic Blvd, Alhambra, CA 91801, United States
Been a fan of In-N-Out since I was a kid. Its consistently delicious and fresh. There isnt much else to say except this:At the time of this review Im basing my rating on the quality of the food at this specific location. I dont know what exactly went wrong, but I ordered my usual which is a Double Double with grilled onions, and it was unbearably salty.Clearly they went way too heavy on the salt and ruined my order. Im insure if it was the patties alone that were the issue or the onions. First time in years Ive had an issue, which speaks volumes of the care that goes into training and quality control, but this was a huge let down given that I was very hungry and had a long day at work. I was looking forward to my Double Double and I just couldnt bear the salt. Please, if youre reading this, let your team know that they ought to pay more attention to how they are seasoning all the components. All the best to you and your team. Please be more cautious, and I hope to give you guys another try in the future.Update: unfortunately the salt remains an issue weeks after my last experience. Seriously guys, EASE UP ON THE SALT. For Gods sake. Its appreciated that youre salting in the first place, but you dont have to go so heavy. Your food is consistently a salt bomb. If you dont believe me, whip up a few double doubles and split them among the team and vote to see who considers it adequately seasoned and who thinks its too salty. Im willing to be the majority will say its too salty. Its not a question of sensitivity, believe me. I have pretty good tolerance for salt. Please do something about this.
