Darvish Restaurant

Didnt want to believe the bad reviews, I always want to give a place the benefit of the doubt and try and myself to see if its really true unless the reviews are so bad that doesnt make me go to there. With this place I decided to try it due to my passion of Persian food. I consider myself a foodie and a good cook. This place was terrible .waitress had a bad outfit, what she was wearing looked like I stepped into a strip bar in Tijuana. Im a big fan of Persian food and I admire good restaurants this place is a fake. The only real person is the little guy. the food tasted like it was cooked the day before and it was put in the microwave and served. the rice was not Persian rice, the shirazi salad was full of old cucumbers I felt I was eating pickle salad. The meat tasted worse than a Mexican taco. It was soggy and very flat like a tortilla. It was so bad that I bit into it And it tasted old.The decor was ridiculous is this a quinceanera hall or what. Only people that will eat here dont know about food and I strongly urge to go to McDonalds if you want to choose this place. I was so upset at the bill not only it was overpriced but I can pay up to $50 a plate if the meal is worth it .the plate I received was worth $5. Read all the reviews and you will see which ones are real obviously the pissed-off people are the ones who are true and the nice reviews are fake. I will not be coming here anymore.Go to hathams in orange county thats real Persian food not soggy and old cooked meat .By the way the stew was so thick I had to leave it .
Sacas Mediterranean Cuisine
248 W 2nd St, Claremont, CA 91711, United States
I just visited Sacas for the first time today and was very impressed. I ordered the Falafel Sandwich Italian Style with a side of french fries and a square baklava. This is a casual restaurant where you order at the counter and can either eat inside or get carry-out. I ordered my food to-go but I did spend some time inside while I waited for my order to be made. The inside of the restaurant is lined with square tables and chairs, and a soda machine selling craft soda only. You will not find name-brands like Coca-Cola or Pepsi here. They also have high-chairs for toddlers and children. The restaurant itself is immaculate and incredibly well maintained. It has very nice lighting and a welcoming ambiance. There are also a couple of tables and chairs right outside of the entrance should you like to enjoy the outdoors while you eat.My food was made fresh after I ordered it. I did not have to wait long, maybe 5 minutes, before it was done. The reason that I rushed to write this review is because of just how good the food was. The falafel sandwich I had included falafels, spinach, pesto, onions, and pickled turnips wrapped in pita bread. It was incredible. I dont often review food, so I lack the words here, but this sandwich was very good and made me happy after eating it. I cannot wait to go back and try the other versions of their falafel sandwiches and platters as well. The french fries I ordered were cooked to perfection, golden and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The baklava was also incredibly delicious. They had several versions of it, but I tried the square one.Anyways, I can highly recommend this to anyone looking for some Mediterranean food near Claremont.
Zaky Mediterranean Grill

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! I ordered lamb shawarma wraps from this place and they tasted spoiled. I called the manager and tried to let him know that the food didn't taste right at all (not expecting to get refunded), and he accused me of being a “negative Arab” and how I am not allowed to come back to the shop. I understand that not everyone enjoys the same cooking style but he didn't even apologize about our experience, being that it was the first time trying this place. He yelled at me over the phone about how I'm one of the people that like to eat food and then get a return and we didn't even eat any of it, it all went to waste. It was an awful experience from the food to the customer service and I don't recommend purchasing anything from this place. This is not real shawarma. Save your money and your time.

Delicious! Just so you know this is a Ghost Kitchen located inside Dog Haus, also every location has a different menu. Got the chili fries and chili burger. Both delicious! Tastes like Tommys. Also you have to place your order online
Nekter Juice Bar
520 W 1st St, Claremont, CA 91711, United States
This review is directly for the owner and corporate office.Visited this establishment 6 times. The last 3 times only had a single employee working. Taking orders over the counter and filling mobile orders while trying to help walkins. During my last visit, 2 groups of 3 walked out without anybody coming to the counter because employee was too busy making orders. Not only this time, but two other times we were told they did not have all the ingredients to complete our orders - example, no bananas!!! This is NOT fair for your excellent employees and you are losing customers and getting a bad reputation. I have visited many Nektar locations in Southern Calif., Arizona and Nevada. All of those establishments had 2 or more employees. If the owner cant find employees then the owner should be working there, it is the owners business AND responsibily to NEKTAR. Tony

Wow, definitely a hidden gem. We were expecting some over-priced bland hotel restaurant, but actually everything and everyone was perfect. The outdoor patio seating is perfect for families with dogs. Nice and warm heaters....The Orchard salad with the cherry-berries and citrus vinaigrette was tasty and refreshing. The prime rib was thick and perfectly cooked for us, not overdone.Service was great from everyone, especially once they figured out the space heaters...Especially pleased with the value. 2 of us easily shared the daily special, and even the sandwiches include a good sized salad. Much better than most restaurants in the Village.BTW, apparently last Wednesday of every month (till end of summer??) is Dogs and Cocktails. So come with your dogs to chillax.******So we returned a week later. This time also did not disappoint. The service and food were great again, healthy vegetarian options were tasty and filling. Cost for 3 of us was only $42. We asked for an extra bowl to split a soup we received with the vegetarian sandwich and instead they brought out another full bowl of soup gratis. Our new favorite. Good with dogs.
Magnolia Bistro & Lounge

Been here a couple times now and still looking forward to the next! They focus on tapas size plates- Perfect for sharing with friends! So far my favorites are: the house salad, bruschetta, veggie panini, chorizo sliders, and braised beef. I know its quite a few but I imagine that nothing on this menu will disappoint; Their chefs really know what theyre doing. The staff was so welcoming and attentive, without being too overbearing. The place is so nicely decorated, I was taking notes for my own house! Lol. Im a big ambience person and this place really checks all the boxes. The music complemented the vibe and feel of it all. The wine flight was superb and I like that they feature beer on tap from local breweries- Last Name & Claremont Craft. Oh and dont forget to save room for their dessert! House-made cheesecake and my favorite, tiramisu. Cant wait to try more off their delicious menu.
The Quarter Creole Cuisine

Was dying to try this place then the pandemic hit had to wait over a year but man was it worth it! Once you walk through the door you are greeted immediately buy host and management. It was a Tuesday night with live jazz music starting at 7:30. The place was booked with reservations but we were able to get seated in the bar which was comfortable and honestly theres not a bad seat in the joint. We were greeted by a lovely lady with a beautiful smile who started off by offering us cocktails suggested some appetizers and walked us through the menu.I started off by ordering lost on Bourbon Street wonderful authentic cocktail and the bartender pours heavy no complaints. And my special date for the night (my grandmother) ordered coffee and said it was delicious.Appetizer: I believe was a crawfish biscuit absolutely delicious second cocktail was French 75 if you enjoy gin I recommend this cocktail. I did also order an old fashioned but this drink fell short for me. it was lacking in bitters and flavor.Dinner: I had the seafood gumbo I cannot tell you how much I thoroughly enjoyed this meal bread is served on request my grandmother ordered the catfish we did try each others meals and let me tell you that catfish was one of the best I have ever had in my life the meals were cooked to perfection. Overall we had a very pleasant experience with Wonderful Live music great cocktails and great food.Things that need a little Improvement. Our server was overloaded with tables service was a little slow but when she did come around she was in the moment stares you in the face didnt look around like she was trying to hurry up and get to the next table she gave you her undivided attention and that was wonderful. Ordering cocktails from the bar was very slow sometimes frustrating how long it would take for the cocktails to come out then I noticed that the cocktails were actually being made but nobody was running the drinks from the bar well this is frustrating. its a small place if you see a drink sitting up at the well whos ever free run the drinks to the table. this is a very easy fix. again we were happy with our server.Like I said our server did have a lot of tables and she was working the patio. So when she was busy running food I asked the lady who I believe is one of the managers she wore glasses and had red hair if I could have a cup of coffee I asked her because I knew our server was busy and she was intending people on the patio. what was frustrating about the manager was she just passed my coffee order to our server. So after quite a while of not getting my coffee the red-headed manager had walked by and noticed I still didnt have it and said oh you dont have your coffee yet let me get that for you. Took the manager about 40 seconds and then I had my cup of black coffee. Sometimes as a restaurant manager your job is to relieve the load and pressure help your team out and make it a smooth night.Overall very pleasant experience. on the way out a very lovely lady who I also believe is a manager very tall beautiful light skinned woman had a brief conversation with us hugged my grandmother goodbye and gave me some great info on when I should make a reservation for next time. And there will definitely be a next time Im in love with this place.P.sThank you for supporting the Arts and allowing live musicians to Showcase their art. I know its a sacrifice because you could put four or five tables where they are playing taking up space. We all appreciate you for understanding how important it is to have music in our lives.

My wife and I decided to give this new Indian restaurant a try during their soft opening in Claremont. As Indians with a penchant for authentic flavors, we had high hopes for our dining experience. The chai was delightful, and the chicken tikka was decent, but unfortunately, the pakoras and navratan korma fell short of our expectations. The pakoras were slightly undercooked inside, and the navratan korma lacked the depth of flavor we were looking for in a traditional Indian dish. While the customer service was commendable, the food itself needs some reevaluation to truly capture the essence of authentic Indian cuisine. Understandably, this was only their soft opening, and I am hopeful that they will refine their recipes and cooking techniques to better represent the flavors we know and love.I encourage the restaurant to take customer feedback into account and strive to deliver a more authentic and satisfying dining experience. With some adjustments and improvements, I believe this restaurant has the potential to become a go-to spot for Indian food enthusiasts in the area.Overall, a promising start, but there is definitely room for growth and enhancement. I look forward to revisiting in the future to see how they have evolved
Alems Coffee

Best breakfast place Ive been to in the Bay Area. The shihan ful (like a fava bean stew with savory veggies, spices and olive oil and served with bread) is – not exaggerating – one of the best things Ive ever eaten. Its so so good. The fata (bread chunks cooked in a garlic/tomatoe/spice sauce and served with yogurt) is also amazing as well. The drip coffee is on point – strong and flavorful (I only needed a small size to feel effectively caffeinated). Since I live in SF I ate myself past full during my visit here just to take advantage of this absolutely incredible spot. The vibe is super welcoming and the prices are incredibly reasonable. The owner was even around and said hello and asked me how everything was! Id give this place 6 stars if I could, cant wait to be back.
