Thanh Tinh Chay Restaurant
4591 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
This is the best Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant Ive been to in San Diego. The meat here tastes just like real meat. They have a variety of options. You can pretty much get all of your favorite Vietnamese dishes in vegetarian versions here.

Busy B Thai Cafe
330 Magnolia Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020, United States
Ive driven by this place a few times on my way to jobs. The name always intrigued me and we finally had an opportunity to try it out! There is plenty of parking behind the restaurant, so you shouldnt have to worry about having a walk to get there. When we walked in, we were immediately entranced by the cozy feel and ambiance that awaited us. There is not a whole lot of seating available, but it is a small area and they have done the best they can with the space they have. No complaints from us! The owners are a husband and wife and they were both extremely friendly and welcoming. When we looked at the menu, I was very surprised to see how many vegetarian and vegan options they have, so if that is something you are being conscious of, this is a great place for you to check out! I got the drunken noodles and my boyfriend got the Tom Kha in a pot. Getting the soup in the pot was amazing as he was really able to enjoy the soup without rushing so it wouldnt get cold. Its been a constant gripe for him at other places. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and surprisingly light on the stomach, compared to other Thai places we have been before. I ate my entire plate of drunken noodles, and I am notorious for taking half of my plates home with me everywhere we eat, so that gives you an idea of how delicious and light it was. This is very much food that you would expect if someone cooked for you at their home. Its also a very nice touch that they bring out a carafe of water so you dont have to get a refill every few minutes. The only gripe is that they only have soda cans, but thats something that my boyfriend alone is picky about in our circle, but be prepared in case you are expecting to get a soda while you are there. I am very glad that we decided to try it out and this will definitely be a lovely spot that we will be visiting frequently! The food was great, the service was awesome and very friendly, and it was all at a very very reasonable price! We will definitely be back soon!

Himalayan Cuisine
7918 El Cajon Blvd P, La Mesa, CA 91942, United States
Calling all Omnivores, Herbivores and those in between! ? ?Okay, so I NEVER write reviews. But Himalayan cuisine deserves 5 ⭐️. If Gordon Ramsay ate here he would give nothing but rave reviews. Trust me. this is the best Indian food AND hospitable service you’ll have in SD. PLUS* I’ve tried them all. *Side note* This is the perfect place to go to eat if you’re trying to adjust to life post pandemic (and you have anxiety about it, I mean let’s be honest here, it’s been a minute since we’ve been around ppl, been able to practice our social skills). Also, this place is vegetarian friendly! They have a whole section dedicated to that, (vegetarian to vegetarian ? ??‍♀️? Order the vegetable samosas, paneer Tikka Masala and cheese Naan) Everyone who works here is so kind! They genuinely want you to have a great experience and the food! You’ll want to savor every bite. If you’re thinking about ordering in or going to this amazing restaurant STOP thinking and just go/order. you can thank me later ?

Taco Bell
2506 Jamacha Road, El Cajon, CA 92019, United States
Taco ? Bell has an excellent selection of which I have savored several times. The Chalupa Box, for $5.00 you get a taco, Chalupa, Burrito, Cinnamon Twists and a Drink. MORE BANG for your buck Spirit Tribe!! Give it a whirl.Great professional, courteous service, atmosphere and food.Note to the Store Manager - Who is that crusty old security guard who hangs out there? Does he ever leave the restaurant? He works for Security Alliance, but he needs to go and heres why -I spend money ? everytime I enter the restaurant. You store manager have seen me and weve had conversation, you even complimented me as a valued customer. But this security guard harasses me everytime Im in the restaurant. He also asks VERY PERSONAL QUESTIONS like how much money ? do I have? What I have and how much is NO ones business but my own, Im sure youd agree. You need to let the company know this guard needs an attitude adjustment or remove him. He is very unprofessional and not a people person.

Ben & Esthers Vegan Delicatessen
6663 El Cajon Blvd suite q, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
I miss having a good Jewish deli nearby. At this point of my life, finding a vegan deli is even more challenging. To my surprise, Ben and Esthers combine my two favorites into one place. Plenty of parking made it easy to access this location. There was a crowd when we got there close to 1:30p on a Sunday. I think, always a good sign when there is a long line at any restaurant. We waited no more than five minutes in line. My partner and I ordered two Reuben sandwiches, some latkes on the side and pickles! Did I mention pickles. They were just there bobbing in these huge jars. Of course I was stuffing my face with one of these! They were big, plump, juicy and the right amount of pickled. Each bite was scrumptious. I could have had more than one, but I restrained myself. The sandwiches and latkes were ready about fifteen minutes after sitting outside in one of their dinettes. For being surprisingly busy, their lead times were stellar! The sandwich was unforgettable, I nearly forgot I was a vegetarian and the latkes reminded me of home. It was my last meal of the day. I went home satiated, content and ready to make this a place one I frequent often. Thank you for the great food, a clean establishment, and only wish it had not been so busy (I would have loved to have gotten to know the staff there). Maybe next Sunday. See you there!

Asmara Caferestaurant
3817 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92105, United States
This little gem offers Eritrean and Ethiopian food. I had the four sambusas, two with lentils and two with ground beef. They also make coffee and espresso, so I had the lady make me a coffee and hot milk. The sambusas were fantastic. The pastry had a very good texture and was tasty. The lentils were delicious and well seasoned. The ground beef, too, was very good and aggressively seasoned in a good way. The red dry sambusa sauce that came with the dish was fantastic. The lady who was running the place was very nice and attentive. She definitely liked to put smiles in peoples faces. The place is small but does offer several tables. Only street parking is available.

Rise Southern Biscuits and Righteous Chicken
6364 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
I am not one to write a bad review, often or even at all. I was looking forward to posting a good review cause I love biscuits and southern food. The food we got was OK, may have been better if it was warm; however dont see how that can be accomplished when we got our food an HOUR after ordering. The atmosphere was tense, many faces looking like theyd also been waiting an hour for their orders. The portions were small, maybe because of the volume of people coming, I am not sure...but the biscuit was a good size. I see potential, but the delivery was lacking in a huge way. There seemed to be hold ups with pick up orders too and no cashiers to help the customers was weird in a restaurant situation. The line to order was long and slow moving as there where 2 kiosks and many people arent super versed is knowing how to use technology as well as others...like the couple we were behind, unfortunately. Then I tried to order online before we left, for my daughter; and they werent taking anymore orders online. We witnessed favoritism happening, when two guys got their order within 5 mins because they knew one of the kitchen staff, to add to the waiting experience; it was a slap in the face. They ordered the same time we did.At this point we couldnt wait to get out of there as soon as we got our order. We just took our food home cold.I am sorry to say the whole experience left us with a bad taste and I dont think well be going back.Hopefully, they can do better and make changes to better serve the people. Maybe dont go at 11AM, I dont know.

The Crystal Ballroom is a stunning venue, and they really know how to host an event in style. The ballroom itself is a work of art, with its crystal chandeliers, elegant drapery, and spacious dance floor. Its the kind of place that makes you feel like youre in a fairytale. Now, lets talk about the food because it was nothing short of amazing. The menu had a great variety, and everything we tried was incredibly delicious. The culinary team at the Crystal Ballroom really knows their stuff. From the savory appetizers to the mouthwatering main courses, every dish was a culinary masterpiece. The chicken piccata was tender and flavorful, and the vegetarian lasagna was a hit even among the meat lovers. The staff at the Crystal Ballroom Banquet Hall were also exceptional. They were attentive, courteous, and made sure every guest had a memorable experience. In conclusion, if youre looking for a venue that combines elegance with mouthwatering food, the Crystal Ballroom Banquet Hall should be at the top of your list.
