Kendejah Restaurant
197 Pelton Center Way, San Leandro, CA 94577, United States
First time here or eating at any African restaurant. Ive had Jollof rice and know that I love it so I looked for a place in the area. There is currently no dining in so its either take out or if youre lucky you might get a seat at the table outside. We were about to leave when a lady sitting at the table told us she was just waiting for her order and we could eat there.Thankfully we stayed. We have two orders of the jollof rice and chicken plate. The rice was very mild (could be their variation) and the chicken was tomatoey and tender, just delicious. Kinda reminds me of flavors Ive had with Cuban stews which would make sense with the plantation workers (slaves) that were brought to S. America and the Caribbean. Came with fried plantains as well. Ask for hot sauce which is made with Habaneros, he warned us it was hot but I could spread it all over my food, loved it.One person had the potato leaves with chicken and turkey. It doesnt photograph well, most leafy stews dont regardless of ethnicity but it was also delicious, especially if you like that kind of dish. You can find similar textures in dishes made with taro leaves, malungay, and others like it.Lastly one ordered the fried Snapper and it was expertly prepared. Crisp skin and moist tender meat. You get a whole fish. Sorry for the photo, it was covered with some veggies and I couldnt move them as it wasnt my dish but it is definitely also worth ordering.Would definitely come here again if in the area. We all live across the bay but we will all remember eating here.
Lotus Leaf

The food is delicious!!! They have friendly staff and an extensive vegan/vegetarian menu. I frequently order the lemongrass “chicken” or tofu and have fallen in love with broken rice recently. I would say they rival Golden Lotus! It’s hard to find a decent vegan friendly Vietnamese restaurant in San Leandro, so kudos to Lotus Leaf for making it happen.
Beijing Bowl

For a reasonably priced meal that consistently satisfies. All of their food is very good, but their BBQ chicken breast is the highlight every time. Portion sizes are huge. My teen boys barely finish their 3 item combo. I get a solid 3 meals out of my 2 item combo. The food is always reasonably fresh at the buffet, and their cook-to-order items come out reasonably quickly. Their family meal combos are a great deal for larger families. Its best to take the food to go. The interior is clean but worn and could use a spruce up. It would have been a great place to get a COVID grant/loan to improve the dining area. I have no idea why they keep the front door open (perhaps for ventilation?) which lets in traffic noise from the street. The staff is efficient, very courteous, and generous with their serving sizes. They are willing to help you figure out what you want and will give you a sample of the buffet items if you want a taste before ordering. As soon as they see an item getting low, they order fresh. Most do the change out properly by trading pans and putting the remains of the previous pan on top, but one girl last week put the new on top of the old. I mentioned this to the other server who said she would train her properly. Our food is always hot, but I would also like to catch them putting a thermometer into the food every so often to verify the temp. In our 10 years of eating there, we have never gotten sick from their food.
Taco Bell
797 Marina Blvd, San Leandro, CA 94577, United States
Rude people! Not sure if she is a manager or what but everytime I have come here when she is here Ive had a problem. Came in for lunch, ordered from kiosk and wasnt given all the drink options so selected diet pepsi expecting to get my own. When my 11 year old daughter asked to get the correct drinks after they made them in the back instead, the lady behind the counter popped an attitude about the fact that diet pepsi was selected, then my daughter told her that the option for regular was not given and she got upset but got the drink anyway. Had to send my drink back because it was not the brisk dragon I clearly asked for it was something red. Oh and my daughter found a hair in her food. She told the guy we usually deal with about it and he fixed it but not without having to fight with the ladies behind him.We WONT be coming back here for a while.
Ikes Love & Sandwiches
155 Parrott St, San Leandro, CA 94577, United States
So my wife and I ordered sandwich's for pick up via their website. We put in our order and were given an estimated pick up time of 11:54am. I get to Ikes at around pick up time and ask if my order is ready. The cashier goes and takes a look and tells me that it should be ready in 7 minutes. I think to myself ok, it's the lunch rush. There are 3 employees working this afternoon. As I wait for my order, people start coming in and place in person orders. As time goes on, I notice these customers are receiving their orders before us online order folks get our food. I asked what was going on and a cashier just shrugs and walks away. Eventually, a few folks who have been waiting for food walk up to the counter and ask for refunds. I was about to do the same when I finally received my order at 12:21, almost 30 minutes after I received an estimated pick up time of 11:54am.If I wanted to wait an hour for food, I would have gone to a fancy restaurant to eat. If this store knows they get busy during lunch, why only have 3 staff members there to make sandwiches and take orders? And get this, to add insult to injury… when I got home with my wife's and I's food, the sandwiches where cold (we ordered hot sandwiches) and there was barely any meat (chicken and bacon) in the sandwiches. I basically paid for expensive lettuce and tomato sandwiches with a sprinkle of chicken and bacon. I've been to different Ike's in California and I've never had them skimp on their food. Won't be visiting this location again. Save your money folks.
Papa Murphys Take N Bake Pizza
699 Lewelling Blvd #296, San Leandro, CA 94579, United States
When I dont feel like spending over $22 on pizza, this location is my go to place. The service is always great here.I always order and pay for the pizza through the Papa Murphys app, which makes it easier. The great thing about Papa Murphys is they always add WAY more toppings on the pizza compared to other pizzarias, but the downside is you have to cook it at home (which I dont necessarily mind!).This pizza I ordered is a new pizza they offer called the Double Bacon Cheddar pizza and it was delicious! It comes with nacho cheese, bacon, canadian bacon, green onions and mozzarela cheese and for the family size it was only $15.99!Incredibly gooey cheesy pizza and the bacon/ green onion really add to the overall flavor. At $15.99 for this giant pizza, its truly a steal. If youre in the area and have an oven, try this place! You wont be disappointed ;)
Pizza Guys
15253 Hesperian Blvd Suite #2, San Leandro, CA 94578, United States
Terrible customer experience. They brought the wrong pizza and then when I called them to come back they didnt seem to understand how they got it wrong. Receiving a mushroom pizza instead of a bacon pizza after an hour was a terrible experience. Further, when I asked for a refund they attempted to give me a discount next time - as if I would order from there again. They then left me waiting on hold after I demanded a refund. When I eventually got tired of waiting for them and went inside to try this (now cold since I had to wait for the driver to come back) pizza I had a slice. They called me 5 minutes later and said they needed the pie back in order to get a refund. The pizza was also not good. Not worth ordering.
Baby Bean Pies and Catering
16395 E 14th St, San Leandro, CA 94578, United States
The owner was very friendly, the bean pie and bean soup were very good, Ive had other bean pies from the Bay and Valley, but theirs taste the best. Price was not bad either, bought the large bean pie, bean soup, fish sandwich and hibiscus drink for under $50 bucks.

Tios Mediterranean Grill
794 E 14th St, San Leandro, CA 94577, United States
My husband and I have been searching for a new Mediterranean restaurant in the East Bay and stumbled on this one after a quick Google search. Tios is brand new (just opened last weekend!) and we were excited to give it a try with the hope that it might become our go-to spot when the shawarma and falafel cravings hit. It did not disappoint! When we entered around 3pm for lunch, we were warmly greeted by the server and a man who appeared to be the owner/manager of the restaurant. We ordered:Falafel appetizer: Warm and perfectly crunchy on the outside with a nice herbaceous flavor. Served with a side of pita and tahini for dippingBademjan appetizer: I had never tried this before and Im glad I did. It was eggplant (and spinach, I think) dredged in flour, fried, with dollops of yogurt and slightly sweet meat sauce. Extremely flavorful and savory.Mango Laban: Creamy yogurt-based drink with mango flavor similar to a mango lassi. They said they make it in-house. Delicious!Greek Salad with Chicken Shawarma: Generous portion of romaine hearts and veggies, smothered with delicious bite-size pieces of chicken shawarma. Not your typical Greek dressing. A bit lighter on the vinegar and heavier on the herbs and olive oil. A unique and nice change of paceGrilled Chicken and Lamb Combo: Two large skewers of cubed chicken and lamb, marinated in yogurt and spices and grilled perfectly. Served on a bed of basmati rice with a side of delicious mint chutney.Baklava: Also made in house! They dont skimp on the syrup or the chopped nuts. The perfect sweet ending to an epic meal.Tip: Ask for a side of their hot sauce with your meal. It is BONKERS good. Spicy with a touch of sweetness.Everything was top notch and the restaurant staff were so welcoming and gracious. We will definitely be back! If youre looking to get it delivered, theyre currently available on DoorDash (hopefully also on Uber Eats soon).
Sultans Grill Turkish Cuisine
15555 E 14th St #319, San Leandro, CA 94578, United States
I was inspired by the positive reviews to finally go to Sultans Grill (Thurs. 6/9/24 @ 12:25pm) and I ordered a lamb gyro and a side of dolmas. After waiting for 10 minutes the man at the counter asked me what I had ordered. After I told him, he and the cook had a conversation and it appeared to me that theyd lost my order. They worked together for another 10 minutes to make my order. And,finally after waiting for a total of 20 minutes I was handed a bag. I reminded the cashier that I had also paid for 3 dolmas. After waiting several more minutes I was handed a container of dolmas. Unfortunately for me, I later discovered, the bag contained a beef shawarma wrap and not the lamb gyro I had waited over 20 minutes for. There were only 2 other customers there at the time, so they werent slammed. I may try to order again, but maybe not. As a side note, the beef shawarma was good. It would have been better if Id received what I actually ordered, though.
