What the heck happened within a few months??!! Surprisingly disappointed. The staff here is absolutely wonderful, friendly and attentive. Throughout the years, this was the usually group lunch or dinner spot. Unfortunately it has declined in presentation, flavor, quality and quantity. We had the fried egg rolls, spring rolls, the Traditional Combo Pho and the Shaken Beef. The fried egg rolls were okay and not melt in your mouth delicious as before. The spring rolls were not appetizing. The sliver of meat in the rolls were dry as well as the shrimp, too. Definitely not fresh because it didnt taste or feel fresh. On some parts of the clear wrapper of the spring rolls, there were portions of the roll that were a little tough as if they were sitting under a heat lamp or in the window for a bit or the wrapper was a little too dry when rolling it causing the wrapper to be chewy. The lettuce on the inside of the rolls didnt look so great either.I honestly believe that our food was poorly made by ignorant chefs. By the way, I had the Shaken Beef Salad. If I were to make food at any restaurant, I would definitely not let anything slip by such as any little pieces of brown, wilted lettuce and leaving the butt end core of the lettuce in my salad (it was a huge piece that I found hidden underneath). Why would you even serve that? The salad dressing had no flavor at all. Looked amazing but had no flavor. It caught me by surprise that I had to let my husband try my salad. The beef and onions for my Shaken Beef were not seared. The beef was tough, over marinated and overpriced for the small amount I received. My beef tasted like it was cooked in too much liquid causing the meat not to be seared and chewy. What you see in the picture is what you get. No, theres not much underneath - just big chunks of onions. The little bowl of pho broth that comes with the dish tasted exactly like the powdered pho soup base you can purchase at the Ranch market. It was super salty and the broth did not have one drop of fat floating on top at all.Disappointing. Did they change the chefs or owners? What happened to quality of the food, too? They dont even care if the ingredients arent fresh and theyll still make your food! The whole meal left such a bad taste in our mouths that were never coming back. Oh, we sat in front of the register by the kitchen and were annoyed by all the gnats flying around us while we ate. Thats kind of gross if you think about it...

It is so nice when you find a true gem. This is just that. A small, comfortable place to sit and enjoy a great cup of coffee and some good desert/food. The location is off the main street so noise is not an issue. There is ample seating both under an awning as well as umbrellas. The menu has a wonderful selection of items to choses from. Both in drink and food items. The coffee is organic and very flavor full which is a HUGE plus. It has a wonderful and warm comfortable vibe to it. The staff is amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. But what makes it even better are the owners. Super friendly and dedicated to there business. They take an enormous amount of pride in what they do and the product that they put out.You will not go wrong by taking a moment to stop by and check this place out. We have been here several times already and now have it down as a regular go to on our list of local places to visit.
Republik Coffee Burbank
164 E Palm Ave #103, Burbank, CA 91502, United States
With the motto “Life is too short to drink bad coffee, our first morning meal in California took us to Republik Coffee on E Palm Avenue in downtown Burbank, right next to the theater and the main shopping area. Upon arrival as first-timers, the establishment's entrance was set back a bit from the street. The interior was modern, inviting, clean, and bright. It was busy with diners predominantly seated inside on a May gray Friday of Memorial Day holiday. My partner and I found it hard to choose from the many offerings for breakfast on the menu, with a number of vegan options, plus flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, bowls, pastries, prepackaged meals, and a few desserts. We decided on a cappuccino, a sandwich of the day consisting of Mortadella, Irish white cheddar, butter lettuce, cherry tomato, chopped pepperoncini, aloli over baguette, a chicken salad sandwich, and a cinnamon bun. The only downside was that it does get busy, and it can get hard to find a table. So, we sat on bar stools by the entrance. Unfortunately, no one called out for my cappuccino when it was ready, as it had been sitting at the counter for at least 15 minutes, resulting in it being warm and not hot. The sandwich of the day was tasty, but the bread was hard. The chicken salad sandwich had bits of cilantro that were not listed on the ingredients, and my partner had to throw the rest out. They do a good job of making their food look good, but it lacks a lot of things. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

The Carving Board Burbank

The food was REALLY GOOD. Takes time but its all fresh so to be expected. These are sandwiches that were obviously developed by a chef. Sauces had really unique flavors (Not in a weird way, but in a really good way). Ive eaten and LOVE ban mi. Their version was unlike any I had ever had. Not authentic Vietnamese (which I still love) but with a pleasant twist... higher-quality meat than you will find in a typical authentic Vietnamese restaurant. The price is higher as well but worth it.Will be back to try their other sandwiches for sure.

Enjoyed my stay here. Room was clean and liked the overall design aesthetic. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed specialty drinks from the FYC bar that were tasty. They did not skimp on the alcohol Location was great. Easy access to Burbank, Glendale, Universal, Griffith Park, Studio City areas. Access to the 134 was just a short distance from hotel. The continental free breakfast was minimal ( small muffins, bagels, yogurt and coffee). We did try some of the restaurants directly across the street which were very good. Try Bae Baes for breakfast. Very large menu. Very good food and great service. We also thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Vietnamese restaurant at the same strip mall. There is also a Starbucks and Vons located there for convenience. I would stay here again.
