House of Pho
20500 Hesperian Blvd, Hayward, CA 94541, United States
“Fantastic Vietnamese Dining Experience!”I consider myself fortunate to have House of Pho, located across from Target, as my local Vietnamese restaurant in Hayward. The extensive food selection and excellent food quality make it stand out. The prices are quite affordable, especially when dining with a group. The spicy noodle soup is a personal favorite, showcasing the exceptional quality of their broth. The staff is friendly and goes above and beyond to take care of customers. The skilled cooks consistently deliver delicious dishes, earning the restaurant a well-deserved 10 out of 10. Despite the fantastic experience, it’s worth noting that parking can be a bit challenging at times, requiring a short walk to the restaurant. However, this minor inconvenience is the only drawback in an otherwise outstanding dining destination. I will definitely be returning for more delicious meals!

This is an excellent and extremely authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I have been buying Bun bo Hue at this place for more than 10 years. No other Vietnamese restaurants in Castro Valley, Concord and Walnut Creek beat the taste of this dish. The price is reasonable. The taste is unique. Give it a try and you know what I write here is the truth.
Pho Tai
151 W Jackson St, Hayward, CA 94544, United States
We tried this pho for the first time. I had the vegetable pho with vegetable broth and my bf had the meatball pho.Veggie pho- DELICIOUS! It had fresh vegetables and a great taste. It was a pretty big bowl hence the $13-14. I LOVED IT!Meatball pho- delicious in flavor BUT had a huge miss with the texture of the meatballs. These meatballs are made from frozen. They were chewy and SQUEAKY! The entire dish could be elevated if made with fresh meatballs. My bf would not likely recommend or reorder this particular pho (nor would I). Again the flavor was very good, but the squeaky meatballs were off putting. Not worth the $14-15ish dollars. We will be dining at this location in the future to try their other dishes. When we picked up the food it was STEAMING HOT! made it all they way home that way too :).The ambience was good and clean and they take a priority in their customers health. As theyve posted on their door, all of their staff is vaccinated.(PSSST! restaurant if you are reading this please improve/change your meatballs! Well only if youd like. it could improve your dish, this is the opinion of two customers ;) ).

La Ca Bakery & Cafe

This place is a hidden gem in Hayward! Very humbling place with even more humbling and kind people. The baguettes--oh, the baguettes! Let me tell you, folks. They are at the perfect crisp (but not hard to the point where it mutilates the roof of your mouth. IYKYK). They are freshly made everyday and throughout the day. The steps making them looks so meticulous to maintain consistency. I can eat these baguettes by themselves, theyre so addictive.I ordered the traditional cold cut Vietnamese sandwich (banh mi thit or sometimes called dac biet). Each bite was balanced with the crispy but soft and fresh baguettes, the savory traditional deli meats, pickled daikons, and buttery pate. Vietnamese banh mi thit just have a special place in my heart and Im thankful La Ca takes pride and passion to make it beautifully.I also got a dirty matcha which has a shot of drip coffee in it (matcha lovers, please forgive me ?) but Im a caffeine fiend!! So delicious with the shot of drip coffee (using the traditional Vietnamese phin filter). If youre in the area or traveling through, give them a try!
Amys Grill & Cafe

I took my mom there for breakfast after morning church and both ordered breakfast. She had an omelet and I had corned beef hash and eggs. My order was pretty good but it was a little bit salty (not uncommon it seems nowadays). She said he omelette with spinach and mushrooms was really good. The service was also VERY friendly and although they made one mistake they immediately took care of the issue and were very polite in doing so. The only thing that I would really like to mention because I really feel like there are only 2 items that would keep this place from taking off and becoming a neighborhood favorite with the almost certainty that getting a seat during normal meal time would be difficult is the cleanliness of the place... It really needs to be cleaned top to bottom and EVERYWHERE in between... It is definitely a family owned atmosphere and was very friendly but it truly feels like they havent done much heavy cleaning in a long time... The food was very good so I think they are definitely following proper food prep protocol. The only other item is that it is a rather small location but I am starting to think that, that is what helps to create the family type atmosphere there and the fact that the wait staff is also very friendly also is a big contribution to that comfortable feeling... Good luck guys I really hope your location pays you back for all the hard work you put into it. Take the time to do some extra cleaning and I think you guys are going to reveal the diamond in the rough that you are sitting on!

Came here for brunch, ended up getting my food at lunch.Looking through the reviews I don't understand how more people aren't talking about the unreasonable wait or service. It took about an hour to get our food and during that time we saw multiple people served before us, a family ask for a refund due to the wait, and generally service that seemed discombobulated. When we first arrived and it was our turn to order we asked for a bit more time to review the menu. After a minute (at the most) we stepped forward to place our order but the same lady seemed to ignore us and we had to wait a few minutes for someone else to notice us. In Spanish this second lady asked the first if we had already placed our order to which the first responded that she waited but we were taking our time (guess she didn't think we understood). After we had paid they told us it might take a bit longer due to a few parties that were there before us. What they didn't warn us about was the number of ppl that would arrive after us and receive their food first, or that generally our party was not going to be prioritized - like when we asked twice for water but during that time multiple parties placed & received their complex drink orders. This place has a lot going for it since it's a local shop with a nice environment and food, but the service made the experience so bad I won't be coming back.

Generally I prefer to support family businesses and sometimes that support comes in the form of much needed feedback. This already started off badly when the person that came after me was allowed to jump ahead of me and be taken care of first even though I was waiting for the young guy at the register to finish taking an order over the phone before she even came in. Then it turns out even though I'm spending $24+, this place is passing down merchant service fees for credit card use to the customer which is usually accepted as cost of doing business anywhere else. Admittedly, I'm probably still sour about the person that was allowed to cut ahead of me. Lastly, the croissant sausage sandwich was disappointing. There's no flavor, no spice in that patty at all. With such a simple item gone wrong, I'd be hesitant to try try anything else. The saving grace here was the pumpkin spice I ordered, and I imagine most of the drink options are probably pretty decent, but that customer jumping ahead of me really killed it for me. She even told them that we were ahead of her but they took her first anyway. That tells me they're not interested in new business, just happy with the loyal customers they already have ?My opinion, if you live up here and you just want a coffee (and you have some cash on you), go here. Otherwise, it's just a few more minutes down the hill to Starbucks or Peet's or go down to Edna's off Tennyson for their croissant sandwich if you have some extra time

I'll be honest— saw the hype on IG. Let me tell you living around the corner I was stoked. Then I get there. To packed 1 day. So came next the day, and figured I could wait since I live so close. Was cool got a little table at a very small spot. Which I love, and so does my wife, but think sits about 20 people. They said hello, and smiled. Great start? don't know what to order so to play its safe, and not pay to much on my first visit. Well. The presentation was great. I got the lobster roll, and my wife got the shrimp roll. Came with a small 2,3bite salad, and a pinch of curly fries. Took my first bite, and tasted like a soaked butter toast that they heated up bag lobster, and put it in. Not fresh at all, and noticed that the buns were coming frozen pre buttered from outside. So made sense why they were super soggy. Salad was great, and fries were good. Also ordered one order of the fried oysters as an appetizer. Which they forgot, and had to remind them right before I got my check. I really wanted to try them so I asked if they could still make them I would wait. 6 min later I got soaked fried oysters. Took one bite, and tasted like sour fish. Not like oyster. The waitress then notice I didn't eat them, and ask me if they were ok. I politely said no they were really bad. She said.. “ oh you know what you need salt & pepper” as she agreed that's why they are bad, but then told me what could have made them better, but never offered me salt & pepper, but honestly it wouldn't have helped. Why am I leaving this honest reviewed, because I then notice the gentleman waiter tell the happy guest before us who were pleased with their food to please leave a review, and smiled, and continued to ask them to leave a review. With me all smiles just noticeably not happy with the quality the food. He didn't say one word to us about it, and still charged us for the horrible oysters. Two people with tip I paid $100. For some soaked bagged butter rolls, and some bag fried oysters. Sorry, but not worth it, and will not be going back, or recommend this place. Don't be fooled by social media. Change to some more fresh product, and probably will be better all around. Other then that I'm going to the pizza spot around the corner?Sincerely yours,Bay Areas Honest Food Dude?

This place does not exist. The address given is a Vietnamese restaurant. I had to charge fraud and claim refund.
