This place was HORRIBLE. as a fully vietnamese person I was offended when I walked in. Right off the bat the atmosphere was NOTHING like a vietnamese restaurant I eat at often. From the lighting to the news broadcast the whole vibe was off. Not to mention the server was kinda rude (and white). Lowkey wanted to leave the restaurant right away but we already sat down so it was too late. Me and my family ordered shrimp tempura, a dry noodle with meat, and a meatball pho. Pretty average stuff that you cant possible screw up, right? Right? Wrong! My dad didnt even have to take a bit out of his dry noodles with meat because just the look of the meat was bad quality! I saw it too and it was DULL. IT LOOKED DEADER THAN DEAD! The meatball pho was fine but couldve been way better. My brother got the shrimp tempura and it looked fine, almost good but we only had two pieces before he stopped eating because he said it had a weird aftertaste so I just told him to stop eating it because it was probably infested with something! We only sat in there for about 20 minutes tops! We werent even close to finishing our food at all! For a place that advertises SOOO heavily about being vietnamese, THEY SERVED CHINESE FOOD AS WELL?? this was just the tip of the iceberg too and I usually dont write reviews but this place was so bad I just had to! Would not recommend! Super offended that this place is still in business because this is NOT AUTHENTIC vietnamese food.

IPho is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Modesto. They offer some non- Vietnamese like burrito, which is weird, and I refuse to try any of that stuff. Most of the time, I just order the beef pho with rare stake and ice tea with Boba. If I have enough time, I order one of the hot pots or an appetizer. It’s a great place for lunch and the service is great.
Saigon Restaurant

The food overall is nice. Mostly we have it Togo. However we decided to dine there. The ambience was lacking. No soft music, just a lot of chatty workers with no regard to the half dozen customers inside. As always, explore your foodie places. Update: 09/4/22. Just had a big order to go. Got everything correct except one. Language barrier. Wanted bok choy with chicken. But rather got bok choy with the chicken noodle soup which already comes with it. Yes, I didn’t get it either, after calling them. So hence, my updated review. Next time get an itemized receipt and check your order before leaving. It just happens to us all the time. Butttttt. The food was very good.Update 9-30-23. Always good food. One of the original area Vietnamese restaurants. Our favorite . We’ve tried others, but usually come back to here. As always, post your favs. So we kind of know what’s good and what’s better.
Pho Bac Noodle Palace

Im updating my review. Sadly enough this place satisfies by pho craving. And even sadder is this place is the best place to go for Vietnamese restaurant. Its obvious this place changed owner. I can tell from the quality of the pho. Its more of the quantity. I ordered small #2 and I definitely got small. The old owners werent that stingy. Also, the laminated menu for the drink (see photo) shows a photo of the drinks with numbers shown but NOTHING shows what the drinks are. Will we return, unfortunately cause they are the best in town, unless you drive to Pleasanton, CA, the nearest place to good pho. And even though they have a sign that shows American Express, they said I couldn’t pay our meal with it. The Amex sign was for the car wash but they had NO SIGN stating that Amex was for carwash. ?Service: BQuality: CPrice: $ and starting to go $$

So the food was very good but to bad the last time I was here the man in there was very rude about my son . I will never be back . My son was being loud at first he's 2 ! I don't know if he was having a bad day and my son irritated him but while giving us our bowls .he made a comment that we have to be the ones to clean up after my son and etc . The way he said it was so rude and when we asked him why shocked at what he said we told him he's a toddler I'm sorry if he drops some stuff but it happened sometimes kids drop some stuff mind u I always wiped the table after my child . He said we'll come ask for some stuff and he'll have us clean it . It amazed me that as a server u are going to make ur customers sweep and clean the table after them eating ! We were so uncomfortable that we left our food and told him we weren't going to be eating there anymore . I was a waitress for years and I always had courtesy to pick up my mess and stack plates and bowls and etc . So food was good but. Customer service sucked . If you have kids be prepared to be asked to clean up ur own table after eating or just don't bring ur kids to eat !

I was looking for a real Vietnamese restaurant in Modesto for a while, and now I get it. This restaurant has many choices for customers, and the food has taste almost the same with home country- Vietnam. I highly recommend this place for everyone. Delicious, full, and good price ??
Le Saigon Sandwiches
1645 W Orangeburg Ave, Modesto, CA 95350, United States
While its definitely different from the once before location in Westside. Im going with just a food review for the 4* I remember eating at Les in the west from 98-15 and it was one of my favorite places to go whether I planned on staying to eat or grabbing to go. No matter what it was always poppin and yet clean. This place in the north is kind of a downer. Maybe it was just going in right before closing Im not sure as I havent been back yet. Aside from that though the sandwiches, papaya salad and spring rolls were on point as always. The avocado pearl was just as good as always. Still get 5 pepper in my salad and still hot as expected. Regardless of my personal view I highly suggest this place. When it was in the west it was like a home to me and Im still not even sure if its just a remake or owned by the same person so judging based off of the previous location could be absolutely distorted. Anyways price went up a small amount as Saigons are now 4 instead of 3 but that aint nothing to complain about. Guarantee youll enjoy your sandwich if you enjoy a Saigon sandwich in the first place or the other items I mentioned. Will add to my review each time I eat there so I can give you more insight on the atmosphere and other menu items.
Saigon One
901 N Carpenter Rd #61, Modesto, CA 95351, United States
Modesto has a lot of Vietnamese restaurants, but this is the only one I have found west of 99 worth anything. Saigon One is a very busy restaurant at lunchtime, so don’t be surprised to find a full house. Since Saigon One is owned by the same people who own Saigon Restaurant on Oakdale Road, the quality of the food and popularity of the restaurant should not surprise anyone.
