Our favorite Vietnamese Restaurant in Rancho. Love the Hot Pot!
Pho Spot
8802 Base Line Rd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701, United States
If you are tired of the wait and indifferent service at Pho Ha as I was you have to come here. Restaurant is very clean, the Pho is excellent and the manager/owner is always there with a great smile and they are genuinely happy to serve.Water never goes empty, they happily give you extra jalapenos, sprouts, lime etc. The spring rolls are often rolled to order so you may wait a little longer than other restaurants but the food is so much fresher. What I really like is that they give a small dish of sauce for each customer rather than one for the table. No double dipping here! The sauce is also much better than Ive had at other places like 1 Pho Noodle & Grill. They have a great lunch special sandwich and the typical expansive menu but of course I go for the Pho Tai Nam Gan. Perhaps a little lighter in portion than Pho Ha, their broth is better, never oily and very consistent. My only concern is that they are located in a poorly managed strip mall and as a result arent as busy as they deserve. Thus they are understaffed and can on occasion miss a few beats if they get a rush but never out of indifference or incompetance. Of course if that happened consistently Im sure they would adjust the staffing. If you like Pho and suffer bad or indifferent service to get it, try Pho Saigon and suffer no more.Edit Remove

One of the best Vietnamese restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario area. I like it better than Pho Ha. It gets crowded during lunch and dinner time.
1 PH Noodle & Grill
11897 Foothill Blvd B, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730, United States
Had a craving for Pho and our favorite place, Pho Saigon, is closed on Tuesdays so I thought Id give this place a try. Walked in and noticed that the space was contemporary, warm and clean. Waitress yelled out TWO!!!. I said yes and she just jerked her head toward a table and walked away. Menus were brought quickly by a lady behind the counter and shortly after the waitress came to take our order. She didnt write anything down and no surprise was back three minutes later to get it again.Pho arrived very quickly and although the portion seemed small there was a decent amount of meat, just very light on the broth and noodles. Also ordered more sprouts, basil and lime as there was barely enough for one person and we were two. The spring rolls come three per order with a very mediocre thin and dark hoisin/peanut sauce. two of the rolls had no pork in them as is customary. None of them had the chive like green. The water there has such an obvious bad taste I am really surprised they dont run it through a filter system. It even overpowers the green tea I ordered. Refills are very slow. The waitress seemed rushed which was no surprise as the busboy/cook and a lady I assumed is the owner or management were busy bringing supplies in and putting them away during the middle of lunch service.Overall it is a pleasant space and the Pho is good but overpriced for the portion. They obviously put money into the ambiance but the two flat panel Samsungs just hung there, like black shiny paintings, turned off.If I happen to be at Home Depot and Im in the mood Id probably go back, but I wouldnt make a trip for it because the service is so abrupt and unwelcoming and the food I had just so-so.
Lantern Vietnamese Restaurant
8443 Haven Ave, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730, United States
I went to Haven City and tried the Lantern Vietnamese Restaurant. They had a few vegan options that looked good on the menu and were really tasty when I tried them.I recommend the Vegan Pho and their fried rice with tofu. My order got mixed with another order for the rice tofu dish but it was corrected quickly.Their use of spicy is at a good level where you can add more if needed. The heat level for the soup was lower than other pho dishes that I've tried but it was good for me in the sense that I didn't need anything in the bowl fully cooked since it was vegan. The veggies and tofu were hot enough and I could enjoy the meal faster rather than waiting for it to cool off. They also have traditional meat dishes for others in your group. Enjoy.
Lees Sandwiches

Not as good as their orange county branches. Wont go back. I recommend getting the sandwiches at the local Vietnamese restaurants.
Pho Ha
9319 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730, United States
Update (02/27/2021):Utter shock that left me and my family speechless after visiting this place again in two years. We were looking forward to a good dine-in experience, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. They do offer outdoor dining now. Before you are self-seated, you need to go into the restaurant to make an order and pay. Because we were going to be dining in, we paid for tips as well in advance. We ordered two pho noodles (i.e. one regular and one XL) and spring rolls. What happened afterwards was really shocking. After a reasonable time, we were given our appetizer, but without napkins, chopsticks, and water. We had to wait another five minutes before we can even ask for these missing items. I believe water is essential part of Vietnamese cuisine, and we asked for it many, many times. Of course, we never got our water. The service was extremely uncoordinated, as they brought out materials like redundantly and VERY LATE. When we got our pho noodles, our bowls were of the same size, rather than two different sizes of one regular and one XL. We asked for an explanation, but the lady who was serving us told us, “it is okay” and just walked away. We do not mind if workers do not speak English, but they should be able to at least explain if we got regular size or XL size. Horrible. This is not what we expected from our first dine-in pho experience after the reopening began. If I can give zero or even negative star for this place, I would. We originally decided to visit this place because we had a very favorable memory from two years ago. It is now ruined, and we will NEVER, EVER visit again.Original (two years ago):If you want a taste of a typical Vietnamese noodle found in the US, this is one of the places to go. Pricing was appropriate, but if you are sitting in a non-chair table, you will find yourself squeezed into an oblivion. I am new to the area, so I probably will not return before I check out other Vietnamese restaurants in the vicinity.

Dumpling Master
7220 Day Creek Blvd #149, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91739, United States
I had high hopes for this place since I had not had dumplings in forever. Drive by the place and checked out the Google reviews and thought I was in for a treat. It was a Sunday after a long hike, late afternoon. Not many people in the place. I took a seat by a window. The floor under the table was filthy and I tried not to smear around the food droppings. The overall appearance of the restaurant looked good enough though.I ordered a green tea, chicken lemongrass dumplings, and noticed they offer a Tonkatsu ramen which is what I often get after my hikes so I get that too.I was taken aback when the server came back with hot water in a paper cup. Turns out everything was served in disposable containers. What surprised me even more was that the green tea is Lipton, nothing at all what I expected which was something that perhaps had more Asian authenticity. The ramen arrives and the presentation looked decent. Then I tasted it.Bland. The broth had zero flavor profile. Plus, it had no body which meant it wasn't a real tonkatsu broth. I tried putting in chili oil to help but it just made it spicy. Guess that's what I get for ordering a Japanese dish at a Chinese restaurant.Dumpling time. You would think this is their time to shine. Just looking at the wrapper I could tell these were not fresh. They tasted only OK. I thought my hunger would power me through but I could force down only half the dumplings having lost my appetite from disappointment. There wasn't really an opening to comment because no one came to check on me and see how things were tasting. Even when they brought the check they didn't ask if I wanted to take the dumplings home (I really didn't).Sadly, from this experience, I would not return.
Calle Ocho Cuban Cafecito
8880 Archibald Ave # C, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730, United States
Yesterday I stopped by Calle Ocho to support this small business with the purchase of empanadas and coffee for a business meeting. Keke was the person who assisted me with my order. Keke was rude, but I chalked it up to she was having a bad day or that they may have been short staffed. After placing my large order, I asked because of COVID, can we get each flavor of the empanadas in a separate container because I work with people who have food allergies, our safety protocol and some of the executives dont eat pork. Keke further made excuses as to why they cant do thing such as print receipts, separate empanadas based on the meat inside and why they dont have basic utensils. Keke kept stating that there supply order is stuck at the port and they cant go to Smart and FInal because they were out of those same supplies. I was then told that I would be charged for each sauce that goes with the empanadas and the containers that the empanadas are supposed to come in. When I returned to pick up my order I was immediately yelled at by Keke to close the door. I took a seat because the food and coffee that was ordered wasnt ready on time. Another customer comes in shortly after me to pick up her order and Keke yells close the door which ticked off the customer. The interaction between Keke and that customer was unprofessional on Kekes part because the customer was expressing her concern about the restaurants card reader. The customer was sharing when she elected to have a receipt sent to her via email she received an additional email stating that the application will share her information with others. The customer was asking Keke to take her off that list Keke immediately blew up on the customer. It was so unprofessional that I stopped my conversation to hear what was going on. As I am waiting, another customer comes in and Keke once again yells close the door (which by this time I am thinking why wouldnt the owner get the door fixed) then Keke rudely takes her order. As I am sitting on the chair waiting for my order the cook comes from the back to show me my order where he messed up my empanadas and is trying to explain to me how I can point out to executives which empanada is which. I made the same request which was can you box the empanadas based on the meat and the cook got an attitude. Now mind you, I only wanted a total of 6 small boxes and Keke said you have to pay $1 per box. Needless to say, I wont be returning because of the poor customer service, unprofessionalism and they were full of excuses on why they cant take care of there customer.
Haven City Market
8443 Haven Ave, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730, United States
This is a great place to go with a group of friends because everyone can eat something different (or even bring their own food from home if they really want to) and all eat together - just like a mall food court. Theres many good options, and a huge variety of restaurant choices from pizza to crepes to various Asian cuisines to burgers and desserts. Only complaint is that theyre not open for breakfast hours, even though some of the restaurants serve breakfast foods!Indoor and outdoor seating available. Many special events offered throughout the month, like trivia nights, but they seem to all be adult-focused and at night - nothing family-friendly or in the earlier evening that Ive seen.My old review for a specific event:We went here tonight for the Taste of Haven event - pay $30 and get 6 vouchers for sampler dishes at the restaurants of your choice. We enjoyed the experience, and it was a neat way to get introduced to the various restaurants and try different options. My favorite was the Baba K chicken shwarma, and my husbands favorite was the Jojos braised pork belly rice. However, the items should have mathematically been worth $5 each, but not all of them were. For example, the Vietnamese sandwich from Lantern was tiny, as was the Jojos pork belly rice bowl. Although the event was a fun way to try the foods, we wondered after if it would have been cheaper to actually buy small dishes at each place, rather than the whole $30.Also, we were there 5-6:30pm, and Elmer & Jaspers as well as Belly & Snout were sold out of their voucher products. :(
