Pho Rowland Vietnamese Restaurant

It was too hot to eat anything soupy or a hot dish. I wanted a cold entree type food. Spring rolls came to mind. My favorite place was too far and every other place that served it didnt have both shrimp and pork in it. Partner hopped on Yelp and found this place. The parking is a little crazy, its tight and everyone seems impatient AF. Theres a lot of honking and flashing lights. LOL. Especially on a Friday night like tonight.Thankfully, it wasnt busy until after we sat down. We ordered two spring rolls and a vermicelli dish. Theyre definitely on the pricier side. 2 pieces of spring rolls for almost $7. BUT they are the only restaurant that I know of in Rowland that uses green leaf, shrimp AND pork. So it was perfect in my opinion. The ratio of all three ingredients was stellar, not too much of the other. The peanut dipping sauce could use a little work, it was a bit on the sweet side in my opinion (almost like apple juice flavor). Partner also loved his dish, everything was very flavorful and delectable to the palate. The meat served with it was tender and juicy.Overall had a great dinner experience though and definitely would come back again for the spring rolls!

Run into this restaurant by accident. The store told me its a family owned restaurant. They made the broth from the scratch daily. I saw they were the pho festival grand champion plaque on the wall, so I decided to give it a try.I am surprised to see Hainan chicken on the menu as it is not a Vietnamese dish and not many store can make it right. I ordered the HN chicken and the combination pho to go. They were so delicious. Chicken was tender. The rice is very tasty and just right not too hard not too sticky. They also gave out many different sauces for the chicken. I havent had such good HN chicken for a long time. The meet in the pho is a high end quality. I love this restaurant hence.Last week, I have visiters from aboard. I ordered the beef Pho, the chicken Pho, and of course the HN chicken. My visiters loved them as well. The pho used for chicken and for beef are different. We love them all.If you are a pho and HN chicken lover, this is a must try place. Highly recommend.

We went to Hsi Lai Temple on Lunar New Year and found this Chinese Vegetarian restaurant that wasn’t too far from the temple.I’m used to Vietnamese vegetarian food so having a change of scenery with Chinese dishes was refreshing. I absolutely loved everything we ordered.Baked meat bun ($5.95) - baked bun was different because it wasn’t a bao. There’s jalapeño in the ground meat so it had a kick.Meat skewers ($7.95) - chewy texture and has a kick due to the cumin powder. I inhaled this and started coughing.Pineapple fried rice ($12.95) - no egg, it was pineapple, ham, carrots, peas and I love the pork floss crumbs which gave it a crunchy texture.Crispy bean sauce fish ($19.95) - it was either this or Roasted fish ($18.95) and the server recommended this. The filet slices were made with bean curd and the fish skin was with nori sheets. Resembles the real thing!Walnut shrimp ($18.95) - must order! Giant shrimps battered in vegan mayo. Delicious. Just like the real thing.Clay pot eggplant tofu ($15.95) - our favorite dish! Sizzling hot with soft tofu and egg plant. Will make this a yearly tradition when we’re in this area to try other dishes.

We arrived to the store at 1:15pm and proceeded to stand in line for 2.5 hours in the hot sun. We eventually got into the store and ordered our four drinks at 3:43pm. I asked to speak to a manager. I ended up talking to a guy named Chi. I told him it was completely unacceptable that on their grand opening that patrons were forced to stand in line for 2.5 hours without any water or shade. Chi stood there, nodded, and smiled like a psychopath while I told him how unacceptable this entire situation was. I asked what he was going to do about it and he replied, Let me think about it. WHAT THE HECK ANSWER IS THAT? Later, he said he would send me a gift certificate via email-- I will be VERY surprised if he follows through on that. I also interacted with a second manager Kent who at least was very apologetic. He said he was really sorry about the situation and talked about how this was their first day, etc. I told him that people understand when things go wrong or are slow on a first day, but its completely unacceptable to leave your patrons outside standing in a two hour line without any water or even acknowledgement. The least he could do is hand out water to them and explain whats going on or INTERACT with the patrons who are so excited to come to his store. He did end up buying a bunch of water and handing it out to people, but it was 2.5 hours too late. Hopefully nobody got hurt or too dehydrated from this experience.Heres a list of things that I observed that the store could improve on.1. It was 90 degrees and sunny. People were picking up cardboard boxes out of the trash to use it to shield themselves from the sun. UNACCEPTABLE! The staff should have been handing out water to the patrons who were standing in line or gotten some umbrellas. After my angry diatribe, I saw that waters were being handed out which was a good change, but it was still way too late2. The line was extremely disorganized, the staff should have had some people outside working the line and interacting with the patients. The line went through the store, around the store, and then in the very back of the store. They should really have had someone standing there helping with line management, especially since there were cars going back and forth in the back. It would have been very bad if someone got hurt.3. After about an hour of waiting, I saw some people rushing into the store with bags of ice-- looks like they ran out of ice on their first day. Unbelievable for a beverage store.4. In 2.5 hours, they ran out of boba. Who runs out of boba at a bubble tea store AND on the grand opening day???5. I counted 10 people behind the counter making drinks. Why were there 10 people behind the counter to make beverages? And each of them were doing one task which was extremely weird. I think I saw one person weighing the boba/pearls. That seems very inefficient. Get a spoon or cup thats the right size, you dont have time to weigh things.6. One of the four drinks we ordered ended up having a few stray milk pearls, which was also weird.Overall, this was a terrible experience and I would not recommend anyone to go. There are several bubble tea/boba restaurants within a one mile radius of this place. Honestly, if I hadnt been with a friend who was super excited to try this place, I would have left after half an hour.

Dear Manager/Owner,I want to write to you to let you know how frustrating and disappointing my family and I experienced today waiting for a table and finally left after 50min of waiting, basically, felt we were DENIED of service! We are visitors from Canada, hoping to get some awesome chinese food after a long day visiting Santa Monica. My wife saw a high rating for this restaurant on Yelp so we decided to pay you a visit. With 2 hungry kids, we got there just pass 6:00pm, talked to the front, spoke Cantonese, we were on the waiting list. 30mins passed, 4 families got a table, then, what just happened after is just UNBELIEVABLE. 2 more families walked in, they got their tables. From the corner of my eye I can see the front counter lady feeling a bit uneasied, speaking mainlander to another waiter, knowing what she did was WRONG. Absolutely uncalled for and if you think you can operate a well liked business, thinking you are untouchable, you are absolutely wrong. This type of behaviour has to come from upper management. Poor management = poor service period. Rude attitude, that I cant help you, its where your people is from. Sorry, I sometimes feel ashamed that my owned kind treats me like this..... Ill let my Canadian friends know not to visit your restaurant. Sorry... EPIC FAIL!!

Jiou Chu Dumplings

Taiwanese delicacies are made in Los Angeles with fine dining standards, including Fengyuan Pork Rib Crispy Noodles?, handmade Xiao Long Bao, five-color pan-fried dumplings?, luxurious beef noodles stewed with eight kinds of fruits and vegetables and beef soup base, and even beef burritos are served! But the pricing is ordinary chain store sales? !It turns out that the newly opened popular restaurant in Los Angeles, #九春, is actually an 85°C affiliated company @jiouchu #九秋流心 crispy fried dumplings? There was a long line of people just after the store opened. The Jiuchu store is bright and spacious. About 20% of the people in the store are Americans, and the rest are Asian faces speaking various languages. Everyone is here to bite into the crispy liquid that will spurt juice. Pan-fried dumplings, the American media reporters and friends who were traveling with them all took home souvenirs of their clothes stained with fried dumplings ?‍?‍?Surprisingly, the price of Jiuchu, which is entirely handmade, is close to that of chain restaurants. The materials used are solid but the price is affordable. The pork here does not have a special pig taste, and the pickled cucumbers and fried green beans that Taiwanese are most familiar with are basically 100% Taiwanese. If the price of these special delicacies is 50% higher, there may be fewer Asian customers, and I think there will be more Americans. Customers come. There are about 50 kinds of dazzling products on the menu, and you can also choose from more than 40 kinds of 85-degree C drinks. This kind of arbitrary menu and pricing is said to be the big boss who proudly lists all the Taiwanese delicacies he wants to eat. On the menu, this kind of willfulness should be very domineering in the American catering industry! Chef Choyces ability to break through the red sea of catering made Chef Choyce curious. Next time he challenges himself as a one-day chef, please ask Jiuchu to let me intern in the kitchen? One of my colleagues asking for my recommendation: where to get nice xiaolonbow without 2 hours waiting!Dintaifung is nice but not quite friendly customer experience for pricy and crowded line up all day long.If you really want some nice Asian food, trust me, East Los Angeles will be a better choice. There is a new open Taiwanese restaurant nearby, JiouChu is a brand new restaurant over U.S. but its very popular and famous in hand made dishes within reasonable price. There are over 50s items dishes and over 40s boba drinks from the related brands 85C . You can enjoy colorful juicy dumplings, hame made Xiaolonbow, traditional Chinese dishes and popular Taiwanese street foods all served by JiouChu Jiu Chu Liu Xin Crispy Pan-fried Dumplings? The dumplings are colorful and beautiful, once you give it a bite, all the flavorful meat juices coming out, bring you the perfect umami and savory taste. Also, my favorite dish is the beef noodles which is originally come from Taiwan. Chef of JiouChu Made the broth with 8 different kinds of vegetables and fruits, its bringing out the best flavor of beef noodles. If you want to try something different, come to the east side of Los Angeles, JiouChu Is one of my favorites too.? Hands down the most delicious bowl of beef and noodles that Ive had in the area. It doesnt matter what kind of beef and noodles, or the restaurant, or whether its Korean, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, etc., this beef noodle flavor beats them all and has the most umami. The setting is very casual and outdoor dining only.
