P.F. Changs
800 The, Shops At Mission Viejo, Mission Viejo, CA 92691, United States
We stopped in on a whim. Entering The Shops of Mission Viejo Mall via the food court entrance, we were impressed with the design and decoration of the place. I had heard of P.F. Changs but have always been a bit leery of a Chinese restaurant franchise business model, so this was our first experience.First off, I must admit. I am very biased going into any Asian restaurant. I cook Asian at home. Its my favorite form of cooking and my two steel woks are almost 40 years old. That being said, the very first thing that I noticed in the menu was the total lack of any pork dishes. What? Pork is THE meat of choice for the Chinese, for thousands of years. Historians believe they were the first culture to domesticate wild boars around 10,000 years ago into the modern pig. Pork is a huge staple of the Chinese diet with many famous dishes based upon it; Sweet & Sour Pork, Moo Shoo Pork, Pork Fried Rice, etc. At PF Changs, Nada. How can you call yourself an Asian/Chinese restaurant with this huge omission? The service was good, the meals were tasty but the portions were on the small side, the bill was high. I noticed the restaurant was pretty full but I came away with the feeling that you ate there, not for the food, but as a status symbol; sorta like owing a pair of $300 Nikes, when a $60 pair is just as good. Its a name dropper restaurant; We ate at P.F. Changs last night! Thanks, but no thanks. We will stick to the independent family owned Chinese restaurants where they are more reasonably priced, have much larger portions, and have larger menu choices, especially pork.

UPDATE: went in today and Joseph helped us out and was so nice and helpful! I don't eat meat and he asked the cooks if they could please cook some beyond orange chicken for me which they did! Loved the customer service!!Giving it three stars because Jon was so friendly and helpful even though he was training. I hope Mias attitude doesn't run off in him. I observed her completing a few online order without gloves which is fine, but she also touched other surfaces including a wall and then she moved Jon out if the way when he was about to complete my order I asked if Jon could finish it as she hadn't washed her hands or was wearing gloves, she answered back that she hadn't touch cash and it wasn't until I told her I saw her touching the wall that she let Jon complete my order and she went to the back to wash her hands with an attitude. She came back to the front with an even worse attitude.

Today I had lunch at this Panda Express. The wait in line was reasonable but if they had a second person getting the food I think the service would have been better. I didnt see the mushroom chicken as an option because there was no name placard but they did have a fresh batch coming out when I ordered it. My only feedback for this specific location would be that the broccoli in the beef and broccoli didnt seem very good. I did get the veggie side and the broccoli in there was so much better and fresher. I spit out some of the broccoli pieces from the beef and broccoli. My complaint to the company would be that the veggie side is only cabbage and broccoli. I think they could offer some additional vegetables to make this vegetable side more desirable and a really viable option. My other complaint would be that there really arent many healthy options at this restaurant. Im currently doing weight watchers and my lunch was still fairly high in calories and I chose their lowest fat meat options. I think my experience at this location was good enough to eat here again. I like the portion sizes I saw given to other customers but of course, I thought my serving looked a little smaller.

I went to this cute little hole-in-the-wall restaurant with a friend of mine amd couldnt believe how good the food was. I have been to many chinese restaurants that are supposed to be better than the fastfood version, but always seem to be quite similar to the quality. But not this place!Food was great, fresh, hot, and looked extremely appetizing. The owner is this lovely chinese women that is extremely hospitable. I wish i didnt live 25min away from mission viejo, if not i would eat there evrytime i wanted some chinese food... 5/5!!!

Please, think of a better name for a Chinese restaurant. Def better than the 3.6 GMaps haters give. I’d say fair market value is about 4.2.It’s best for takeout, and for feeding large groups 6+. Pricing is awesome, taste is right and it just has that vibe. Mongolian beef is a highlight and you have to do chow mein. Don’t waste your time with sweet and sour chicken, it was pretty disappointing and frankly, I’d skip the chicken. Maybe try the orange chicken? But yes, I’ll be back to BIG Chopsticks.

I do not usually leave a review unless the food and my experience was either very good or very bad... I am taking out time in my busy daily schedule to leave this WARNING !The food and my dining experience was just awful. I was originally trying to eat at a different Chinese Restaurant but it was Monday and closed...To make this dreadful experience as short as possible, this was the worse Chinese food I have eaten in my life. I ordered Wonton Soupand got salted water .. no exaggeration,I am not kidding, salted water & veggies w a few Wontons. My Entree of Kung Pao was SWIMMING in Hoisin Sauce :(If you know what good Chinese is all about, PLEASE do yourself a favor .. dont eat there .Darlene.

I love this place but I feel there prices are unreasonable. I paid $18 for tacos and $15 for a bean, cheese and carne asada taco, with a half order of chips it came to $55.00. It's damn good food but for a place that makes your order at the counter, buy chips and fill your own salsa it's waaaaayyyyy overpriced in my opinion. I suggest all you Mexican cuisine fans try La Perla Taqueria off Alicia, Taco Mess off Los Alisos or the the mexican restaurant on the other side of Sprouts. If you're willing to drive and don't mind paying $15-20 per entree for the right setting then head to Taco Rosa in Irvine where they take your order, serve you and give you a free appetizer which always changes so you never know what they will surprise you with. This restaurant gets 2 stars for good food but lost 3 stars for jacking the prices to high.

Los Alisos Village
22902 Trabuco Rd, Mission Viejo, CA 92691, United States
Village Montessori Center, Fast Check Liquor, Alisos Animal Hospital, My Tobacco, All Star Pizza, RK Dental, UPS Store (coming soon), Little Chopsticks, Hot Tub Aqua Paradise dba Sundance Spas, The Mud Puppy Groomer, MJ Handyman Services, Taco Mesa, Unique Hair and Nails, Baskin Robins Ice Cream and on its own Auto Zone. The pizza, mexican, chinese food and Ice cream store are all great options for good food. The Liquor Store is easy to get in and out of and never too busy. Have not visited any other businesses in this plaza but I am willing to bet that those who dont earn the revenue for their rent dont last very long. All that being said, the three plazas at this intersection drive me nuts. You cannot turn left into or out of any of the plazas at Los Alisos and Trabuco. Your only options are to turn right or make a U turn then turn right into these businesses. Drives you nuts when you come from either street as you have no choice but to make a Uturn when you arrive or depart. Look at the map and you will understand. The issue is not with the Uturn itself but how short the distance is for you to get into the left turn lane or how far you need to go to even make a Uturn. Poorly designed entrances if you ask me. On a good day you will cross three lanes in about 12 feet to get into the left lane, unless there are cars already in there. On a bad day you will have to wait until the light clears then cut through those 3 lanes in traffic to get into the left lane. Either way, if you dont manage it, getting going south on Trabuco may require some due diligence, not Vigilance! Hope this review helps, be patient and kind with others and they will most likely appreciate it.

I had been really enjoying getting my food from this restaurant. My favorite was the 5 pieces Beef Satay with peanut sauce. Was! Why? Because suddenly they upped the price from $9.75 to $13.75 one week to the next!! The meat is not suddenly better. In fact, it seems like the beef is less tender and with more veins, so lower quality, at a 40% higher price!!I am sorry, I know there is inflation, but not THAT much!!Thankfully there are plenty of other Thai and Chinese restaurants in this area. It has been a nice ride, but farewell! I hope youll be happy with the higher price and the loss of customers! I am sure it is what you are aiming for!
