I came here for lunch. I would say that the food was good value, but not great. It wasnt very busy but the one server did a good job of keeping up with help of a rather cute robot. However, I suspect the robot slowed her down rather than helping!Overall I can see that this would be a good stop for a quick and satisfying meal and there seemed to be several regulars there.Worth going there, especially if you have kids to see the robot!

It was rather empty when I went. I was one of two patrons. I ordered the basic combination chow mein and enjoyed every bite. I might have missed it but I didnt see their beverages listed on the menu though I saw the soft drinks pumps in the dining area where I sat. For convenience, there was a sticker on the table if you wanted to scan the code, order, and pay that way. Another option was to scan the receipt and pay. But the waiter also seemed willing to take your payment as well.

If you eat in, they want you to place your own order online. I decided to go to register and place order to go instead. I got a lunch combo. Chow mein was just noodles, no veggies at all. Orange chicken was too soggy for me. Egg roll was ok. I had to give this place a try, but its not what I was hoping for.

Expensive !!! Its the only Chinese food restaurant in town. That being said, my experience first time trying it, was not the best. The place is clean, service is good, the food... not so much.I got general tsos chicken and hot and sour soup.Soup was great, the chicken dish was not. It had no flavor, and was borderline bland, if it wasnt for the hint of sweetness. And eating it with streamed rice makes it even blander. I know its a small town, but food should be somewhat close to authentic. I will give them another try again, and get another dish to see if its any different as far as flavor goes.Verdict : be wary of what dish you get. Anyone whos from here, knows thai elephant. And thats the level of flavor, this restaurant should reach for .. plus Chinese food should not cost so much. Some dishes are priced comparable to P. F. Changs. 🤔

The portions were generous for a lunch special that included an entre, egg roll, soup, and rice.My Sweet and Sour Chicken was delicious and served piping hot. I think I would have liked the Fried Rice if it hadnt been served at room temperature. The vegetarian egg roll wasnt anything I would write to my mother about but it wasnt bad and it was served hot. The hot and sour soup was as good as any Ive had and was served piping hot.The service was genial but barely adequate and I could see that the friendly waitress was a little overburdened.

This is a really neat place on main Street. There is a little serving robot which Ive never seen before that I enjoyed watching and listening to. The menu is pretty straightforward and the food is as expected. Plenty of insight seating and a large frozen refrigerator of mochi for dessert.

We loved eating here! The staff was incredible and super super helpful in choosing what to order. The combo chow mein was excellent. The pork fried rice was delicious and the honey walnut shrimp was so good. Dont forget to order the perfectly done bbq PORK buns!We had great service from the humans and the robot. They accommodated us even though we came in just before closing. We will be going back!

The service here was excellent. There was really nothing particularly wrong with the food, I just found it a bit bland for my tastes, and the lamb was a little fattier than I would have preferred. The hot sour soup was great and the hot tea was delicious. As an added bonus, our food was delivered to us by a very chipper robot. That made the visit totally worth the visit, and I would recommend anybody go there at least once to enjoy that particular feature of the restaurant.

Not incredible Chinese food but its a great option to have. The fried rice is amazing, but thats pretty much all I get when I come here.They also have a cat robot, it really adds to the atmosphere of the place.

Pros: the restaurant owners / staff are friendly, the chow mein and fried rice was good, cooked perfectly and the fresh cooked egg in the rice was delicious. The general tsos chicken was delicious. the robotic cat server was a cute added touch to this restaurant.Cons: the bbq pork ( didn’t take a pic ) was too pink for my liking! Didn’t even resemble pork nor have I seen pork so pink it looked like it was colored with food coloring .. more than unimpressed it was served warm with some pieces feeling cold.. on top of a bed of lettuce. Some of the chicken pieces were not warmed through which makes me believe they were prepackaged frozen chicken pieces :/ the last thing was the price which was very pricey for 4 dishes.

Hated it..... Spent 45$ alone on a meal that should have been 20$ max, robbed. The food was ok at best. The chow mein had no veggies and the noodles tasted like they were at least a day or so old. The meat teriyaki chicken was gross my dog didnt even want it... Best part... Was the cheap knockoff fortune cookies...

Overall disappointing if you’re not going for fried chicken in orange goo (which was good). Mapo tofu was chunks of lightly seasoned tofu, carrots and peas? The robot was fun, server was nice but just not a place we’ll be going back to sadly. Also pretty spendy, it was $65 after tip for 3 dishes and rice (which they charged $7 for about 3 cups).

Id like to give a 4.5 review for my first visit to Bamboo in SLO. Great location. Love the atmosphere and servers.The food was well spiced, authentic and portions are good size. The green beans were slightly over cooked but maybe thats because I ordered take out. I will definitely be going again and Im grateful their is a Chinese food restaurant back in SLO.

The food is always incredible. Excellent/huge portions that leave me full after every meal with some leftover! (Which makes the price well worth it for me)Some other reviews seem to not agree with the price of Bamboo Bamboo but the portion size and quality are well worth the amount, and make this a stand-out restaurant. ESPECIALLY when you compare it to Panda Express for just a few dollars more.Lastly,The BEST staff, always kind, hard working and fast. Strike up a conversation and really get to know them.I highly recommended Bamboo Bamboo to everyone I know and make constant lunch runs for co-workers when commuting to Atascadero.By far my favorite has been General Tao’s Chicken and Beef Chow Mein.Go here and give it a couple tries!

Been wanting to try this new restaurant as there isnt many Asian restaurants, especially Chinese food. So we ordered To Go as we are vendors at the weekly Farmers Market in Morro Bay. We ordered two entrees:1) Combination Chow Mein and2) Chicken with Snow Peas,Service was quick, but they served Lo Mein in place of Chow Mein(specific noodles) for each dish. The snow peas were a bit old as they were quite limp, not bright green and crisp. I was hoping that they could fill the void of classic Chinese food. Will try again as we all need a second chance.

Family owned and operated business that recently opened since my last visit to Morro Bay. Quality of the food was fresh, tasty, and good. Price was very reasonable, compared to Silicon Valley. They prepared a custom dish for our fur babies. Excellent service. You wont go wrong if youre in the mood for Chinese food.

The waiter told us that the chef didnt cook our order (chicken curry) after for a long wait. And wanted us to pay rice which is not serve as well. If we didnt call and asked where is the rest of our order we didnt know it was not cook. We didnt even hear anything from them that they felt bad for what had happened hahaha we go back to our hotel upset and hungry. Our first dine in there from Sacramento supposed to be memorable but ended not.

We normally really enjoy your food. The last couple of times we ordered the combo egg foo young and it has been really succulent and flavorful. Today our order was not good. It was dry and not much flavor. Do you have more than one cook? It reminded me of the first time we ordered and the Lemon Chicken was super dry and no flavor. Whats going on? The stars represent the meals we have really enjoyed. So was today just an off-day or a different cook?

We loved this place so much we came twice on our our vacation! The server was very friendly, gentle, and smiley. The food was delicious. We particularly liked the sesame chicken, the chicken noodles soup, and the fried wontons. At the time we were there, they had a robot kitty server who brought the food to the table. The kids thought that was great! Highly recommend.

This chineese food was not good enough for me to want to eat there a second time. We got the family stir fry, which comes with beef, chicken, and shrimp. We substituted tofu for shrimp, so I dont know if the shrimp tastes any better than the beef and chicken. Hopefully, it does because the beef and chicken are quite bland. The only flavor I tasted was from the sauce, which definitely is from a package and not worth mentioning. The price was too high for the quality of food that we got. The bill was $60 for family stir fry, two soups, and an order of 5 spring rolls, which honestly tasted like they came frozen in a box from grocery outlet and were heated up in a salamander. They did not seem to be just fried. That being said, the service was very good. The waiter was so polite and very on point. I assume he is learning english, and I applaud how well he has done because it is a very hard language to learn, and he communicated with us just fine. The main attraction here is the robot server with the digital kitty face. Its cool to see in person and a great reason to stop by and see for yourself if you like the newest chineese food place in Morro Bay. Just because I did not care for it does not mean that you wont love it.A few key points:THEY HAVE A FOOD SERVING ROBOT! Maybe it wont be a big deal 10 years from now, but today, it really is very unique and progressive, and kinda a must-see for everybody, at least once.The restrooms are newly remodeled and super duper clean.Wheelchair accessable everything.There is plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant in case the main street out front has nowhere to park.They use recyclable Togo packaging🚩🚩Being that I am a cook, I find it sus that the kitchen was enclosed during the remodel. It used to be wide open to view inside while you waited for your food to be cooked, back when it was Brickhouse BBQ. Nobody wants to work in an enclosed kitchen over an open, well ventilated one, and it costs more money to remodel the kitchen to be enclosed, which is not sensable monetarily when opening a restaurant in a new location that was already set up to be an operational kitchen as it was. Why would you not want people to see what is happening in the kitchen when before you could when it was a different restaurant. Im just saying its sus, and I believe, worth noting.🚩🚩

My husband and I invited a friend to lunch and are very glad we chose Bamboo Bamboo. The food was delicious (hot and sour soup, mixed vegetables, shrimp in lobster sauce. Side of noodles and rice of course, pot of tea). We shared and had extra for home. The service was very friendly, and with an entertaining surprise. Give this new restaurant a try. We will be back.

I havent had good Chinese food in a very long time. We heard about this new restaurant from our friends who live here in Morro Bay and we tried it. It was some of the BEST Chinese food weve ever had!! Best for take out for us because we like to drink a nice wine with the food. It was so outstanding I wish I could take some home with us!! Loved the containers they served it in and you get a lot of food so we were able to have leftovers the following night. We ordered: sweet & sour chicken, cashew chicken, vegetable chow mein, egg rolls (4), & beef w/ broccoli. Highly recommend trying this place for take out!

The only thing that detracted was the fact that when I asked for a bowl for the rice she said that they only have plates - Then the food came on paper plates. Very pleasantly surprised how delicious everything was! Were locals and good Chinese has always been SO hard to find here. Give this place a try, you wont regret it. We had family visiting and we ordered veggie egg rolls, pork fried rice, broccoli chicken, chicken chow mein, orange chicken, and egg flower soup. The fried rice was the only thing that just needed a bit more seasoning or soy sauce but it was still very good. So happy to have good Chinese on the Central Coast!!!!

If I wanted to frozen egg rolls I would have bought them at the grocery store. I hate with a lot of the Chinese restaurants around here they buy frozen egg rolls and they think that were not going to be able to tell the difference theres only been a handful that make them fresh. One of my new favorite places to eat in Morro Bay! The food is fresh, served nice and hot and in nice big portions. Atmosphere is a bit drab but the food is what keeps us going back! I hope that doesnt change... Especially the portion sizes. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because teriyaki chicken and bbq pork are on the menu but for some reason they are not making it. Its not sold out... Just not available. I will definitely change to 5 stars when they decide to serve it!Update: Just changed my review to 5 stars! Thank you so much for making Teriyaki Chicken available on the menu! Oh! And I tried the Kung Pao Chicken and it was amazing!

Food is fine. Service is good. All the food and meals are served on cheap paper plates and plastic. And they charge for tea. (Maybe a lot of people do but this was the first time for me.)Anyway, was more sustenance than enjoyment. Not great value. Great Chinese restaurant with a varied menu and great service. Unfortunately their location isnt the best for walk-ins, but its worth your time to leave the main tourist area and try this restaurant up the hill on Morro Bay Blvd. Parking is easy out front and like most of town, easy to walk to.

THE PRIMARY REASON IS THAT EVERYTHING I ORDERED (MIXED VEGETABLES, TOFU/EGGPLANT & CHOW MEIN) WAS OVERSAUCED. NOT ONLY WAS TOO MUCH SAUCE MIXED WITH THE DISHES, THE SAUCE WAS BLAND AND BORING. I SINCERELY HOPE THE OWNERS OF THIS RESTAURANT READ MY REVIEW AND MAKE CHANGES. I TRULY HOPE THIS BUSINESS SUCCEEDS AND M.B. NEEDS A GOOD CHINESE RESTUARNT.
