So its a small establishment that is perfect for friends and family. The plates are family style, and they do have lunch specials until 3 p.m The bathrooms are clean. The staff was friendly and helped us with our questions..I ordered the egg soup in a cup and it was delicious. The curry was a little run down, but nonetheless was tasty and couldnt complain about the chicken and amount of veggies. Steam rice could be a little more fluffy and fresh.The green tea boba was lacking flavor but not overall bad.I will come back again.

I absolutely love this place. Restaurant atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy. Staff is absolutely wonderful. Food was delicious. I have lived on their food for majority of the two weeks I stayed here. I defiantly recommend it.

Went there for lunch today and was impressed. Its pretty good food. They were a little busy around 1, so it took some time but everything tasted good. The sweet and sour chicken could use a little more flavor but the general tso was good. Definitely better than other Chinese options in town.

In cold night before Thanksgiving, I found a good place to sit and enjoy hot and delicious Chinese food. The food is good and the price is way cheaper than LA or SF bay area. Definitely Recommend.

My wife and I love this traditional family restaurant. Its no frills but cozy and comfortable, and the food is quite good. The service is great. Given the relatively low number of good places to eat in the Morongo Basin and their limited days and hours of operation, a hidden gem like this one is so nice to find. It truly deserves a higher overall rating than 4.0.

Service here is always excellent. The ladies who work the front are always nice, helpful, and want to make sure that everything is just right during your visit. Most everything Ive had here was great. My favorites include: pork fried rice, chicken lomein, and General (Tao) chicken

Fantastic Chinese restaurant! Best in the area (including Yucca Valley)!I always judge a Chinese restaurant by their Shrimp Fried Rice and this place hit the mark! Tasted just like the delicious shrimp fried rice that I grew up with (been searching for years for a place that did). Also got the Honey Walnut Shrimp on a friends recommendation and it did not disappoint: was sooooooo freakin yummy! Highly recommend those two dishes.Will definitely be coming back here for seconds, thirds, and more!

One of two only restaurants in Twentynine Palms with REAL tapioca bobas! The other is Top 100 Chinese restaurant on 62 Hwy (yes that’s the name of the restaurant). Delicious. You should try a boba here. They have many good flavors! I got the Taro, Thai and green milk smoothie!! You can ask them to make your boba smoothie form which is excellent especially in this heat. I can’t wait to return and try more of their flavors!

This place is not the greatest Chinese place but it is the greatest Chinese place that I believe is currently open and in service and business in Twentynine Palms.There is a much better Chinese food place unfortunately they have a notice saying theyre on vacation. Its been saying that for over six months! They are the Chinese place over on 2 mile and Adobe.But it looks like they are out of the equation in due to this this is the next best thing the food here is pretty good I do love their lunch specials for only $6.95 from 11 AM to 3 PM good deal! One of my favorite is the lemon chicken.

I actually had hair in my food... they didnt take the plate back to remake it. They just took the little bit with hair in it back to the kitchen. That was 🤢.They were very nice. The inside was rundown like most of 29.The noodles werent very good and neither was the Thai tea (noodles were soggy and tea was mostly sugar/milk) The rest of our food was really good though. If I go back Id definitely be checking my food thoroughly for hair and not ordering chow maine again.

I went back and forth on 4 or 5 stars because, while this isnt necessarily gourmet or the most traditional Chinese cuisine, it is absolutely stellar as comfort food. To call the portion sizes large is an absolute understatement and its all delicious. If youre a hi-des local and for some reason either dont want to cook or just need a large amount of take-out Chinese, call away.

Went here for dinner on 12/8 and was very happy with both the food and the service we received! Nicole was our server and was absolutely amazing. The food was tasty and the portions were large, more than enough for lunch the next day. When we asked for some to go boxes, we got boxes, bags, plastic silverware and napkins. She even put our soup in a tub and gave us extra crispy noodles and fortune cookies. We will definitely be back again!Also should be noted that they did not have any alcohol when we were here. Not sure if that is a normal thing...

I think on another day, this wouldve been a 5 star review.We came here around 8 pm on Saturday night to find that the restaurant was terribly understaffed. There was just one woman taking order, serving and cleaning up. Half the tables were occupied, the other half still had unfinished food and plates on them. There seemed to be a line to order take out. And well, the same person was taking those too. When we said we wanted to dine in, she expressively gave a big sigh. A regular customer was nice enough to clean up a table for us and her.Sounds like either someone did not show up or just left. Ultimately, this poor woman had to do everything, had her daughter manning the phone and about 2 people inside cooking.We ordered the garlic chicken, mixed lol mein and the pork dumplings. Food came out pretty quickly.However we ended up with some paper plates and plastic utensils to eat.The pork dumplings were partially cold but we could easily recognise the quality and deliciousness of them. The lo mein is the best Ive ever eaten and same for the garlic chicken. Really good food and makes you want to lick your fingers and the plate off. Ive been to several Chinese restaurants in San Diego where I live and nothing comes close to this.For the price too, its big portions so it ended up being our lunch and dinner the next day.I could see that the main woman was exhausted and shewas sweet enough apologise for the above non-food experience. But in all fairness, I have to give this place 4 stars because of that.I will back again to eat more of this fantastic food and update my rating to a 5 star :)

This is our go-to place after a long day in town. Pick-up is the way to go. By the time we make it home (and were pretty far out here), the food is still hot! We are in love with the tofu and honey walnut shrimp, but we have yet to find something that we dont like. The staff is always so sweet and welcoming too!

I had lunch here with my mom today. For the price, you get a lot of food. It was also hot and fresh. I’m only giving two stars because the egg drop soup truly tasted like cleaning supplies. It was terrible.The egg rolls were okay, though they were more like spring rolls and were heavily fried. The chicken and fried rice were also very no frills - no vegetables in them at all. Chicken was tasty nonetheless.I dont think we will eat here again which stinks. The high desert is wanting for a good Chinese restaurant.

I have eaten here multiple times and I absolutely love it. I get the beef lo mein add broccoli and it always is amazing and a huge portion. Expect a long delivery time if you order delivery but its worth the wait. They have boba and I get green tea boba which is yummy, I was surprised to find boba in 29 palms honestly. The last time I had it delivered I also got egg drop soup everything was still very hot and the portion size of the small soup was also quite large. Its worth the money here

If I could give this restaurant a good review I would nut we have been swindled by they restaurant.the mushu was 90 percent veggies an 10 percent meat that is not mush. When we called they told that if nothing is wrong it they will not refund our I know its a small town, but you should not be able to get over on people serving unbalanced good. Very good food and friendly service. Liked the dishes we ordered, especially the egg food young, which was prepared significantly differently than what Im used to. Service was decent. I prefer all orders to arrive at the same time, which did not happen in our case. In addition, one item was wrong. Also, they seem to love breaded and fried menu items, asd the batter is very thick.

The food is great. I went in there hoping it at least just good for 29 Palms but it was honestly really really good food for anywhere. The only knock I have is that the shrimp dishes had a really fishy taste to it, but 29 Palms isnt close to the ocean so I get it. Everything else was awesome. I wish I remembered the waitresses name so could give her a shout out by name. She was very attentive and made sure we had a great dining experience.

If you want a quick, cheap, filling, and tasty dinner I recommend to come here! After being disappointed at the lack of good dinner options in twentyninepalms, I was happy to find this place. There were a lot of options, good portions, very reasonably priced, and service was very fast. Definitely try the soups (egg drop or tofu vegetable) and the lo mein. The food was good and it hit the spot after a long day in JTNP! If you like Asian/chinese food, you will definitely be satisfied with this place. I would recommend

Love this place and our server Nicole! My uncle ate here every week and Nicole was his favorite server. We had my uncles last birthday here, service and food were on point. This was second time eating here. First time we were staying in 29 palms for a Joshua Tree NP trip. I googled Chinese food and this place was the highest rated. It did not disappoint! Our second trip was just a day trip to the national park and we made a point to stop here for dinner. Portions are a good size, service was excellent, food was brought out so fast. I love the lo mein and beef with broccoli.

Ate top fast to take photos. Had a pretty large order. Enough for a family of 6. I ordered online which was easy and convenient. Came in, they were extremely busy and I had to wait about 20 minutes for my food. However, it was no issue for me. The staff was pleasant and clearly working hard. Stated that with a build your own combo there was a limited list to chose from but could not direct me to any point on the menu where I could find said list (would not allow me to do chicken and broccoli as part of my combo) ( build your own is not dinner combos). Then stated that though I was paying a higher price ($14.95) it came with less than the lunch (fried shrimp). Then informed me that upon ordering it would be at least an hour and a half before getting my food. Overall terrible pricing and service. Recommend sticking to Top 100

The food was good. We had a rather large order on New Years eve and had ordered 24 egg rolls and asked for the sweet and sour sauce, to they gave us 3 very small cups filled maybe 1/2 way. So that was a negative but other than that, Id recommend Bamboo Garden to everyone. Just ask to make sure you get enough sauce for your group. The staff was very nice as well.

We have given this place a few chances. Today was the breaking point. No A/C, no curtains to block the scorching sun, waitress forgot half of our food, never checked on us when we ran out of water. We had to seek her out for the boxes and check. Never apologized or anything. Not worth it. Also, there are leaves and feathers coming out of some of the AC vents. Gross. Im honestly not sure how they are still in business.

We have been coming here for awhile now. We always receive excellent service and yummy food. The portions are huge and always fresh. I dont think we have gotten anything we didnt enjoy and we have tried several dishes even outside our traditional order. Their crispy rice soup didnt habe as much flavor as Ive tried at other places but it was good. Definitely needs a little more crispy rice for the size of the bowl they give you but otherwise its good. Another big plus is they have maintained an A food rating since weve been going here so kudos guys. We will be back again and again

Food is very good, portions are generous, and prices are reasonable. The only reason Im giving them 3 stars is that they are understaffed and poorly managed. I have eaten here before when they are slower and have received excellent service. This most recent time we went, they were very busy and it took roughly 2 hours to get our food. Our server Nicole was the only good experience that night. She has an incredible work ethic and fantastic manners. However, she was the only consistantly present waiter there and so was left to service every table practically by herself. This restaurant needs to really put more work into their staffing and how efficiently they manage the business if they want to stay.

I dont normally write reviews but I felt this was deserved. The food is very good! We always enjoy what we order! We typically order delivery. The customer service is great, both on the phone to order and the delivery drivers! They are very friendly and treat the customer great!! If you order for delivery, it has never taken as long as they say for it to get here! Which is great, its always early! Ours is usually early by at least 30 minutes! Seems to be a great place for the 29 Palms area Very happy to have found it.

The wok used to cook the food is well seasoned, and it makes the food taste pretty good. The portions are also very generous, and we had to take much of it home. Our staff was friendly and prompt. The restaurant itself is need of some extra attention to cleaning the bugs out of the windows, and the cobwebs from the light fixtures. The rest seemed okay, though.

I had driven by this unassuming restaurant numerous times over the years without stopping only because my lunch/dinner timing was off. Last week the stars aligned...and I couldnt have been happier. Came in yesterday to try something new and was pleasantly greeted by cashier.He let me take my time to look at the menu, and ordered to go.This place is very clean and noticed they had options for kids on the menu.But as I got home and took my first bite of friend rice, I got a little crunch as if the rice was not done.I make rice all the time at my job, so I know there was something a-miss here.Took a quick bite of the Teriyaki chicken and it was dry and tough to chew! I was pretty disappointed.The one delicious thing was the beef broccoli.Im not sure if Ill be back here again. UPDATE: So a year later I went back, nothing has changed other than their prices. Their fried rice and lo mein noodles were nothing more than spaghetti noodles and white rice heated in soy sauce. No veggies, eggs or onions in the rice or noodles just plain. I have them a second chance, because everyone has an off day. Not so here, the food is cheaply made for maximum profit and its just very, very bad.Paying $15 for a half of roast duck that was old and dry with no sauce is NOT good restaurant food.

The lady who seems to always take my order is always very sweet and puts me in a feel good mood. Although the food might be no more better then what you would expect from a regular Chinese takeout place, Id still recommend Bamboo Garden as I always get good quality food here. Okay, the phone didnt stop ringing in this place and quickly became packed after we arrived for dinner. Clean, a little small but worth every bite! I ordered the Wor Wonton Soup and what I thought would be small spareribs from the appetizer menu. I almost fell off my chair when I saw how big they were! All of it absolutely delicious! Had the spareribs for breakfast the next morning cause after the soup, which had tons of stuff in it, I had no room for them!

This town is way too small to take that long. I completely forgot, and called this place for food again. This time, they at least made it on time. Yet they forgot half my order. I called them they said unfortunately there is nothing the could do, but they could credit me for next time. RIGHT!!! Dont order for from here, unless youre going to pick it up or eating in. Never had issues with the food. They have great customer service, the employees are always kind and cheerfull. Only once has the place not been perfectly clean. The wait time is 30m at most. They have delivery and altgough the food is always amazing the delivery time can use some work, on average i wait about 1hr to 1hr and 30m. This is my top choice for delivery.

Very disappointed today. Weve eaten here in the past; the food had been good and the service friendly and pleasant. Arrived about 5 for dinner; restaurant moderately busy but by no means packed. We sat down and waited 10 minutes with no greeting, menus or acknowledgement of any kind. Because I made eye contact, I know they knew we were there plus they had watched us walk in. I prefer to go to that one because the prices are lower the prices here are higher but it is a sit-down restaurant so that is to be expected. But the quality and taste of food does not justify the higher price as dont get me wrong it is not bad its just not really much better then the other Chinese restaurant. If you really want to go to a restaurant and get some good quality food that taste excellent I really did enjoy the Chinese restaurant at the Historic Plaza I believe it is.

Just got our food and I was very disappointed because for one my sweet and sour had a strand of short hair on it and secondly the house fried rice tasted fishy and had no flavor to it. The breading for the sweet and sour chicken was hard and chewy but the sauce was OK. I have no idea why this restaurant has high reviews. I just left and I feel sick to my stomach. I went with my friend and we both ordered the combination dinner. I got General Tao Chicken and Orange chicken and she got General Tao and Sesame chicken, yet they all taste the same. The only noticeable difference is the Sesame has Sesame seeds on it. They were heavily battered, had no flavor unless you enjoy funnel cake and syrup flavored chicken (not in a good way). The fried rice had no veggies of any kind nor did any of the chicken which typically includes vegetables. The egg drop soup was ok. Our waitress was nice but way too eager to grab her tip not even giving me a chance to fill inot the receipt. I guess I should have seen the No Refunds sign as a big red flag. Dont waste your money here its expensive for what should be cheap chinese. We went here instead of another restaraunt to give them business, but I now know why no one was there.

Ordered moo shu chicken with lo mein with steamed dumplings and an egg roll. The dumplings were good but the lo mein was bland and noodles were way overcooked. Pretty disappointing considering I paid 2$ extra for lo mein instead of rice. The moo shu chicken was absolutely disgusting and so was the egg roll. I took one bite of the moo shu and immediately spit it out. I ended up throwing it away it was undercooked and inedible. Complete waste of money.

The fried rice and kung pao chicken are delicious staples that you can never go wrong with, although I am partial to all the dishes Ive had here so far. Unlike some of the their competitors who focus more on fast than food, Bamboo always uses fresh ingredients as far as I can tell. Everything Ive eaten at this restaurant has been juicy, fresh, and piping hot -- right off the stove!
