I’ve been to this place ever since I was born and it holds a special place in my heart. The chefs are amazing, the family that owns is amazing, the food is amazing, everything is amazing. If you’ve never been here before I recommend coming here for like a birthday or just anytime your around.

WOW! For walking in the door, the employees were very nice and friendly! The food was a amazing! Got 2 steaks dinner and 1 kids scallops. The food was cooked to perfection! We will definitely be coming back again!
It was alot of fun. It was exactly what we expected, and more. The chefs were so cool and funny. The food and entertainment was awesome. The sirloin steak was amazing, really good taste and so very soft, I thought was odd but thats how good the chefs were. I enjoyed it alot. My sister in law is vegetarian so they had a meal for her that we all shared, the kids were enamored with the chefs with tall hats and werent fussy (stoked). As far as travel there parking was easy and plentiful.
This place smells really old like they never washed the Carpet. The Sushi Bar looks like it hasn’t been used in years. I sat down for a second looked around and walked out.
First time here. The salmon sashimi was clearly frozen and not even close to the amount I get at my usual spot. If they didn’t have any fresh salmon I wish they would have told me. The service was friendly and the portion sizes of ginger/wasabi were plentiful.
I have been going to banzai for a couple years now and have always raved to family and friends about them. This last time I took my rather large family and we had not a lot of great things to say walking out of there. It was dirty. Like half the place looks like its used for storage. Dirty plates from staff eating at the bar and tables around. Just clutter everywhere. They told me my 10 year old had to order an adult meal, but then let another child at the table same age order a kids meal. We had the son of the owner. I know this because at one of my many visits he was actually great at he mentioned it. But to say we were underwhelmed by him this visit would be some it up. He didnt smile. He didnt put on the typical show. And lets be honest... You go to these places for the dinner and the show. He was dropping everything. It looked like the rice bowls were dirty that he used. No one cleared any of our dirty dishes. They forgot about all the white rice ordered by our group. And then they got so busy in the restaurant they took way to long to give boxes and bill. They had every seat at every habatchi full, with two cooks and two servers to cover the rush just wasnt worth the 200$ I spent on my dinners. Im writing this with hopes that they clean it up I. There and hire more staff that want to work...

This place was fabulous! The waitstaff was so friendly, professional, and courteous. They treated our 4 year old like a princess! They made her kid chopsticks without prompting, adjusted her seat so she could see the flat top better, joked with her and made her feel special. Our chef was incredible! He was genuinely kind, talented and dryly hilarious. He gave us a lot of great local pointers for sightseeing. Plus THE FOOD was SO GOOD. Huge portions. Very fresh. Top notch fantastic, flavorful, and tasty. If we lived locally we would put this gem on our permanent rotation! They deserve every accolade they get!
Party of four for lunch on Saturday. One steak, one chicken, one shrimp and sushi. The food was very good, the preparation and presentation was excellent, and one can tell that the staff at this family owned restaurant really cares about customers and community.

We have been coming here for years!!! Ever since I was a kid and now we bring our family and kids here! Family owned and best food in town! If you want a Place where they cook in-front of you this is the place!! And a plus that they give you soo much food with your meal, you will definitely leave with a full tummy!! Amazing service and delicious food at the perfect price! We loved our host/waitress Wa! She absolutely made us feel comfortable. The place is very clean and everyone is kept over 6 ft apart. We are definitely going back in the near future and bringing more guests with us.
Our friends made dinner reservations last night at 7:00 p.m. for a party of eight. Four adults and four kiddos. We were there slightly early but on time. We were seated after they seated other late parties and left us at the table for almost an hour without any communication or service (we actually timed it). No water, no nothing. The owners daughter WU NGUYEN started to serve other tables all out of order. You can literally see the frustration in other guests face around the restaurant. She eventually came to our table to take our order with the most rude and entitled attitude ever. She was verbally pushy, rushing and straight up didn’t care. She just says “oh can’t you hear my mom yelling at me?!” No that’s not our problem but with your attitude I can see why. We tried to take our orders and she just says “your not even ready!” and skipped us. We all placed orders eventually and we wanted calamari but she said the kitchen is closed and we’ll have to see. Why is it on the menu then? The atmosphere was intense and negative. The other guests were all frustrated and another table next to us all walked out. We decided to walk out too and she tried to stop us and said we’re not going. We said yes we are. After we were checking out our tabs WA NGUYEN physically pushed with two hands against my fiancé’s shoulders and pushed him. Then she proceeded to grab his arm yelling at him. WA NYUYEN I’m spreading this review about you like a bad case on social media. If there is something that needs to be communicated or resolved, then COMMUNICATE then! That was the problem right off the bat. No communication equals a bunch of problems. I hope your establishment gets shut down.

Was very disappointed with our experience.We took my brother n law out here for dinner and at first it was okay. till the chef came. Customer service was not great, just confirmed our orders and that was it as far as conversation goes. He just looked like he was not happy or did not want to be there. but he was nice enough to come back and serve extra lobster for those who ordered as even he said himself he didn’t like the portion of the lobster we got.We ordered the shrimp appetizer & calimari. We never got the calimari and was not addressed till we were leaving. While explaining I was still eating and she did bring take out boxes, but she started packing my food like I literally still had my fork in my had and she took my plate and started packing me up to go. I even said oh not it’s okay I’ll do it when I’m done. Totally disregarded me. She also brought out our receipt at the same time of all of this. My husband paid total was $101 and the. My brother n law asked ( cause he’s not from Cali ) what a decent tip was. We were talking about it and then she comes back with the receipt to sing see’s my brother n law holding the cash and offered to give it to the cook. I’m looking at the receipt and notice the total Amount was $110 so she had already pulled $9 tip. She then proceeded to please circle the tip % and add the tip amount and was like begging so she can pay the lady who washes the dishes and that they can split with the cooks . I was upset that she would do something like that and was taken back but instead of causing a scene we just left cause I was not having it. it was unprofessional! And very rude! we did not appreciate that and this was a first I have ever had anything like this happen to me. we do not recommend this place.The food, it was not the best either everything was made pretty much the same with the same sauce, same seasoning. The only thing I actually complimented and like was their salad & miso soup.
Well let me start by saying don’t judge a book by its cover. This place is family owned. We came in because we aren’t the reviews and thought we’ll hell we have to see for ourselves. Well this place delivered and didn’t disappoint. Tommy was our chef and the experience with him was better than we had @ expensive Shogun. He interacted with our kids and had us adults laughing. Food was way more than we got any other places. hibachi filet mignon was so flavorful and soft u coukd pull apart. Shrimp was enough for 2 people and so yummy! And let’s not forget the fresh crunchy roll sushi! Everyone had good manners, sense of humor. Overall a 5! Pls try!

Food was decent enough, but the whole place is just… gross. Sticky floors, non-functional bathrooms and a fish tank near the front where the water is straight-up brown. I do like to try and shop local over some chain, but if you’re craving Benihana, just go there instead of here.

Love this mom and pop hibachi restaurant. They attended to my sons extremely limited diet and made us all feel part of the family during our visit! Excellent food for a reasonable price.
Terrible experience. The place is literally filthy from the front door, to the tables, all the way back to the bathroom. Check out the pictures in other reviews wish I had. Furniture is broke, door are falling off, there is dust everywhere, counters are slimy. On top of the horrible atmosphere the cook acted bored to have to be at our table and it was my 4 year olds birthday. About made be cry for her to have such a bad experience.
Poor customer service. Ordered calamari for appetizer and they waited till we were done eating to inform us that they didn’t have any calamari. Food was too salty. They took the liberty to give themselves a tip before I signed the receipt. Would not be coming back to this place 👎

This place is amazing!! Family owned and they make you feel like family. The food is delicious and the cooks are fun! We met Wa, and she was great! A friend told us to come here and we are so glad we did. Now Im telling you about it. EAT HERE! We had steak and seafood and everything was perfect!! Great place for hibachi! We were looking for somewhere to go for dinner before going out for the night. We were seated promptly with another couple and had our drinks served almost immediately. Wa, the owner was extremely welcoming and a great host. We really enjoyed our dinner and will return.

We had a party of 9. Sat down the chairs are so low,the have boosters for adults to sit on. Drink order was taken. Another large group came in, the older lady(poss owner)came a over mumbles something and pulls the boosters out from under us.food order finally taken. Our chief comes. Absolutely no personality none. Cooked our food NO SHOW. That is part of the reason for going. They do not give you as much food as you use to get. We than waited and waited for our bill. Got the bill... only to find they take it upon themselves to add the tip they feel they deserve. Again had that taken off to add our tip to reflect service and food. The younger waitress who had been helping us all along attitude turn shotty. Our bill was over 300.00 for 1 party. You would think they would appreciate their customers. No show,poor quantity of food,poor service means no return.
Okay, I judged this place so hard. There was no one in there and fans were running in the inside, obviously I was thinking their air conditioner was out or something. The place just gets super hot given the grills. I was trash talking to my boyfriend but, I truly would come here again INSTEAD if going to shogun. The chef, Clifford was hilarious!!! I loved our conversation the whole time. The waitress was witty and sweet and exceeded my expectations. I will recommend this place to everyone.

Decent hibachi grill place which wasnt too expensive. The server was very sweet and made some fairly strong cocktails which were excellent. The food was good although a little overcooked. The restaurant was oddly dark which was unpleasant. Theres also inventory stacked in view of the customers which I thought was weird.
Not bad, it has some really positive notes and some not so great notes. The food was amazing. Perfectly cooked, good portions, very reasonable prices. We had a large party at the Tepan grill and our chef was wonderful. Couldnt have asked for more. Funny, friendly, entertaining.The rest was a little below my hopes. I totally understand how difficult it is to serve for a large party, which is why I think maybe it might have been better for us to have 2 servers for our party of 13. I give our server credit in the beginning, he was running around getting our drink orders as best he could... but then he started to bring back the drinks and then just disappeared without giving us the rest. I ordered a sake and got it maybe 20 mins later. The eggrolls we ordered with our drinks arrived 40 mins later after we asked about them 3 times. He would come back for a moment, wed ask for something, and then hed leave again and never bring it. 2 other people in our party asked for another drink at different times and neither of them got it in under 20 mins. Lastly, whoever prepared our chefs food ingredients didnt give him the right number of portions, so after everyone got their food we realized 2 people had been left out.Beyond that the restaurant itself looks quite outdated, not that thats really a big deal though. It has a bright neon sign above their bar, written in handwriting that looks very out of place, and the dishes and silverware have a 90s feel to them with the imprinted floral patterns :PBut like I said, if great food is all youre looking for, then voila.
Outstanding food served to us by a very funny chef. The plum sake was delicious and we were entertained by our waitress and our chef while we watched our food being prepared. Love the fresh salad dressing! Had the Teriyaki Steak and it was quick, tender and tasty. We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and we love it. Exceptional service. Wish they would play Japanese music for ambiance. You have to try the plum ice cream--its to die for. Thanks for a great Birthday celebration for my daughter.

Service is good here, the show is always good. The food is not the best quality teppanyaki around but it is still good. Food rice is always delicious as it is loaded with butter. Omg.. My cholesterol level went up but the fried rice is seriously good the dipping success for the meat so good too.
So far the egg rolls taste fishy. I had to get up and get my own napkin, the calamari just came out and looks very greesy. Now that my host who was my server is out of the way....The chef came out his name was Clifford. ..He is amazing. The food he cooked was outstanding and the show he puts on is funny. Im sorry but if you have a table big enough for 9 you have a table big enough for 5 and you seat who comes in first!! Make it work!!They dont know how to get their orders straight either! They tried to charge us for things we didnt order plus forgot things we DID order and then tried to charge us for them!!Place is outdated, smells and is dark and dingy, it needs a good clean up and brightening up. I will NOT return!

Friendly cook and waitress. Entertaining. Talkative. Good place for a date or a group of people. Good for birthdays. Delicious, quality food at a somewhat high price. But if you want a quality meal with a good vibe i highly recommend.
Food was decent. Service was bad! Cranky servers and under staffed. Took 40 mins to get a beer. Had two beers over the course of a 2 hour dinner party. Not the cleanest place. Bathrooms were used for storage of supplies. Veggies and rice were frozen then thrown on the grill. Chief was sweating so much it driped into the food. Chiefs were funny but didnt look clean. The cooking Utensils looked dirty, floor was dirty and grill was dirty. The old women even yelled at me when she brought out wine when I asked for corona. It got to the point that I asked the server if she was ok because of how rude and cranky she was. She replied Im ok! Why u ask?! Im always ok! I said your acting overwhelmed and rude....... then she walked away lol. Dirty hole in the wall place, dark, dirty decor, old decorations and Im sure infested with bugs. Id rather drive far and go to Benihanna
Was sat beside another party. Apparently my food was given to someone else I never received any of my meats besides rice. The plate I ordered was $34 and 1 drink somehow I was charged $79 not exactly sure why and when I brought it to the attention of an employee I was told there was nothing they could do for me and was basically accused of lying about not receiving my food.

My family and I of four walk in and see our other party of ten waiting for us already seated. Im guessing either the manager or owner of this restaurant approaches us and asks us how many and we repeatly said 4 (it didnt bother me that I had to repeat myself for her to hear me) however, she got frustrated and threw her hands in the air vigorously, almost making eveyone in the restaurant turn around. Now I shook it off and gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she had a long day. Our server and our cook were amazing people, very comedic, I wish I got the cooks name but he looked like he was the youngest one there. To summarize the floors were very sticky, fish tank was dirty, the food of the fish, which were live worms, was visible to my family and I, my sisters plate and fork was still dirty and to top it off my grandmother ran to the bathroom puking after eating the food.The bathroom was disgusting making her feel more sick such as the toilets being clogged and toilet paper eveywhere. Im hoping this restaurant really gets it together for the sake of our waiter and our awesome cook. :)
On the night of June 3 the food was mediocre at best and the cook was drunk and obnoxious. Was a preferred restaurant of one of our group but has gone downhill in the last year and none of us will ever return. The current food personnel need to be in some downtown hole-in-the-wall dump. Miserable experience.

It was dirty, greasy, hot, dark. The bathroom was filthy my shoes stuck to the floor. The egg rolls and rice was greasy, the shrimp was not peeled the rice had pieces of egg shell in it.

So I eat here often at Banzai... I went to Newport last week and went to Benihanas because I have never eaten there. OMJ Banzai blew there food out of the water. Both places have there pluses and minus’s, but when it comes to food quality Banzai hands down winner. There is more flavor here and the chef was more skilled with his spatula at Banzai. The decor can use some help, but the food is so dang good, who cares. Keep up the good work!
Horrible, bad service and food. The older woman has the worse attitude and tried to serve us burn black egg rolls. The sea food platered came with all vegetables and none of sea food but 2 shrimp that was described on the menu. The chicken order that ends up being a sorry excuse for a bento box had stemmed vegetables and I swear cheap store bought noodles and tiny portions of chicken teriyaki. No one will ask you if you need a refill and at check out the woman will demand you give her a tip. Just skip, its expensive cheap bland food.

2023-02-15 04:19:17The food was good and the entertainment fair at best. The hostesses rushed us to sit and pick our items because we took the last two chairs, and that was their idea. Everyone else at the stove top already had their orders in and eaten the first dish. That was my only gripe! I didnt like being rushed to choose on the behalf of others waiting. The food was delicious! and price was fair especially because it comes with noodles.

2023-09-21 02:05:01This place was by far the best experience ever. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. The food was great, the service was very attentive but not overwhelming. Everyone has a smile and crack a few jokes. I felt like I was at a family home. Definitely would recommend.

It did take a little long for our order to get taken but it was no big deal. Great atmosphere, great people, great food and great service. This is a great family owned restaurant and if your patient I would definitely say try this place. Cant wait to visit again!!!

2023-07-10 20:34:30Easily the best spot for teppanyaki in the inland empire. Food is great, flavorful and the fried rice is to die for. This places also doesnt nickel and dime you like the the other places Id you want fried rice or noodles. Portions are more than generous and honestly better than the local shogun or benihanas.
