Food is ok but not great. Most of food is expensive. You might be better to go korean bbq all you can eat if you want to pay for $27 for a meal. Service is terrible. Horrible worst. I ordered 3 meals for 5 people. Because we were not hungry. Server changed to be rude - a server wearing glasses. She Almost throw food on the table. That was impressive. One of the most rude server I ever seen. She motivated me to make this review. Thank you.

I love tofu soup and I often eat at BCD but other locations. However, I had really bad experience here. The food is salty and I had to drink a lot of water. Moreover, we came here around 4:15 pm and it was not crowded hours, but we had to wait for a long time to get service at first. And when we asked more the sides, they ignored and just brought until we finished our foods. Also they are so rude since at the first we stepped inside the restaurant. I and my boyfriend had stomachache after finishing the foods too. Generally, its a bad experience, and definitely we will never come back.

Taste just like any other BCD tofu houses. This place is not as crowded compared to other BCDs and theres no wait during weekdays!They will also refill your side dishes if you ask.The only cons is probably that the restaurant looks old and the tables and chairs probably needs to be replaced. Other than that I have no complaints.

One of my favorite Korean tofu soup restaurant chains. Best bang for your bucks on a hot bowl of tofu soup, white rice, and various side dishes. Free refills on the side dishes and their kimchi is solid. Still comes with the fish side dish. Recommend making it a combo with a few add-on options; we opted for the hot-stone bibimbap. Really enjoyed the bibimbap with all its toppings and red chili pepper paste. If you still got room, add the warm barley water to the rice pot so the crusted rice will turn into soup (noo-roong-jee).They sell gift cards too, $15 for the regular tofu meal and $30 for the tofu combo meals. Plenty of parking and stores in this area. Easy 5 stars.

Intentional wrong order to increase revenueMy mom order gopchang (intestines) soon tofu. The waitress got the order wrong and brought a spicy chicken dish that was too hot to eat. They pressured her into accepting this wrong order and refused to take it back. The chicken dish costs twice as much as the soon tofu.

I love BCD and enjoy eating it in all other branches. Sadly, this branch is the closest to my house so once in awhile I end up coming here for convenience despite the consistently disappointing experience. Today was another bad experience - extremely rude service, overly spicy soup and dumplings which were completely different from the picture in the menu. When asked about the difference, the server bluntly said “we changed it” without any explanation. I probably won’t be giving this place another chance now.

I would give no stars. This might possibly be the worst dining experience Ive had to date. This place is run down, which I could have potentially overlooked if everything else fell into place. It didnt. Ill start with the food. Terrible. Flavorless. Bland. I mean the seafood soup I ordered tasted like pure water. Disappointing.Service. They didnt refill A THING, not even my water and served me cold fish! EWWW!!! I had to ask for the check after being repeatedly ignored! They never checked on me once after dropping everything off.. And there is a huge cleanliness issue, as I swatted flies away my entire meal. I eat at the BCD in Irvine once a week and have never encountered any of this. This location in Buena Park is a Stay Away From, just awful all the way around. I was in this area, so I thought Id enjoy a nice bowl of soup and rice, but never again here. Ill stick to Irvine. Do better!

Like everywhere, staffing is impacting this restaurant. The limited staff did all they could make the dining experience pleasant.Pricing is more than fair, and the quality of the food hasnt suffered, unlike many other restaurants.One pro tip. If you like an egg to be dropped into your soondooboo, ask while youre ordering. Otherwise, you will not see an egg swimming in the boiling broth.

So good. I got the dumpling tofu bowl and hot stone bibimbop combo. The taste was great. The service was good but they dont really return to you unless you wave them down. They were very busy for a 930pm Thursday evening. I recommend this place if you want a tofu bowl.

6/19/2021 - OMG - Downgrade from 5 star to 1 stars. I walked in to place a TOGO order. The skinny woman let my order sat on the counter (Yes, I can see my order was completed by the kitchen).. and serviced other Koreans, first. I allowed her to complete assisting other people after me.. before I walked up asking for my food. She actually ignored my order, asking me for my receipt.. pretending the kitchen made extra tofu soup with my order ticket still clipped in front of her face. She then try to short change me on side dishes and utensils.Unbelievable!When I got home, OMG... I found saliva in the side dishes. Calling the health department.2019 - We ended up here on New Years Eve for Dinner before heading over to a party. We were concern about the wait time during dinner hours. To our surprise, there wasnt any wait like Garden Grove or Irvine where I actually walked away because of the long lines.Food and Staff were excellent. Especially the Squid that is part of the side dishes. I actually bought a jar to enjoy at home.I would drive here in the future rather than waiting over 45 minutes or more in the other places.

I love BCD Tofu house since the 1st time I tried this food back in 2005. The original tofu soup is my favourite. Hot and spicy but delicious and can warm you. Thr soup come with steamed rice and side dishes like fish and kimchi and all taste good.

Wow I love this place. At fist I was skeptical because tofu house... cmon I need some meat!!! But tofu is just the name. The place definitely has great Korean dishes with meat and the soup is awesome. I was thoroughly blown away from my skepticism. They even give you a fish to start off along with all the side dishes. Definitely recommend checking this place out. I would definitely go back.

This is a good location of the BCD chain. Good tofu soup, good side dishes, and pretty decent LA galbi too. Ive never felt rushed here as a previous reviewer mentioned, but thats possibly a time of day thing I suppose. In fact Id say the service is well above average for a Korean restaurant.

Korean fast-food serving the regular fare but with great appetizers, especially the fried fish. Kimchi served is not as spicy hot although its a little salty, as expected. Steamed rice in stone pots and the portions are reasonable, so with the overall price. Good place to have a quick bite if yo like Korean food. Credit cards are accepted, parking is free.

Poor service and food at this bcd location, go to the one on Wilshire or Western instead. At first they tried to seat me at a small table and I asked to sit at a larger table which clearly upset the waitress even though the restaurant was nearly empty. As soon as I sat down she asked what I was ordering and I asked to have some time to read the menu so the waitress left grumpily. I ordered the bulgolgi combo and when the side dishes came out the fish was cold. So they later brought the same fish which I thing they microwaved. The waitress sullenly scooped out the stone pot rice but didnt put water in it until we called for the manager . The manager was very nonchalant and didnt apologize. When we told him how much better food and service at the bcd on wilshire had his response was he used to work there. So we told him he should run this location the same way as the wilshire branch. My recommendation is to not come to the Buena Park bcd until they improve their service and food.

Actually i dont eat tofu, but the thing I come for is the hot stone pot with various veggies and your choice of beef or tofu. It comes with all these wonderful side dishes which include a small fried fish, spicy raw squid, fishcake, pickles, bean sprouts, kimchi and more. If you eat in, you get two fried fish each person. The spicy tofu soup is what this restaurant is known for. If you take out, you will get one fried fish per item. The soup is usually 8.99 or 9.99 depending on which you choose. The dishes come with fresh rice, eggs to drop into your soup, side dishes, and toasted rice porridge once you finish.

My mom wanted to come here for her birthday. We put our name and waited for an hour and 30 minutes. We thought it was because there was no seating but there were 6 tables open that no one was using. Then they called a group of six that just came in and skipped us completely. They claimed that they had already called us but i was sitting right there in front of the list listening for our name. And nope I only heard the names Patricia and Daniel. Then they gave us a menu (we werent even seated) and said we will come back to you. The guy didnt smile and just gave a blank stare. Smh the previous manager was way nicer. But with the new manager, the place is run without much effort and it kinda shows.

First visit since COVID. A little past 3pm on weekdays. I saw only two people working in the restaurant. About one-third of the seats were occupied, but half of the empty seats were unavailable. Because I dont clean it. The dining room was messy. They did a good job packing and leaving without sitting down to eat. Employees who worked before were not there. Its hard to find people these days, but the treatment must be a problem.Food was relatively good. However, the pork bulgogi tasted good, but it was more spicy than I expected. Side dishes are poor. The rice was very good before, but it was disappointing. It came out a bit like a cake. It was a good neighborhood restaurant that was relatively old, but I hope it goes back to the way it used to be.

Ive been to many soft tofu branches in Bukchang-dong in the US, but its the worst. I started worrying about whether to go out due to the unkindness of the staff, and I couldnt even use chopsticks for side dishes, and the problem was hygiene. The empty bowl is smeared with kimchi powder, and someone elses rice paste is still there. Its as if the rice was cooked in advance. A really bad evening. TT

Food is not bad, but the service is not good!!Tables and chairs are not clean. Hot pot rice is dry. It seems that it takes some time after it cooks. I can see some burnt rice above the hot pot, too. When it comes to food, it is not bad. Especially, galbi is great!. tofu is itself salty but I personally like that taste so it doesnt matter to me. Inside ingredients in tofu are also great. I just hope that there will be further improvement in service. I wonder whether it is business fault or servers personal fault.The food itself wasnt bad. I wondered if soft tofu could be this expensive in Korea, but since there were a variety of side dishes and croaker was served, it made sense considering that it was across the ocean from America. The taste of the ribs itself was great. The quantity was quite large.However, the servers service level is barely 3 out of 5 below average. In addition to the average service of restaurants located in Korea, it is far below the average service of restaurants located in the United States with Americans as servers. Considering American culture, where tips must be given individually, I dont understand it even more.(I went a little after 4 oclock and sat down without waiting, but the table management was a mess, and there were some seats where I couldnt sit because there was rice cake.The stone pot rice seemed to have been dry for some time, and there was a dark area on the top of the rice. Its been a while since Ive been to a Korean restaurant, so I didnt want to feel bad, so I skipped over this part without making any complaints, but I regret this. Like in Korea, it was difficult to raise your hand and say what you needed, but while eating, you didnt even check the table to see if you had what you needed. If there were a lot of customers, it wasnt even 1/3 full. )Is it a problem with the ratio of tips to employees or the pay system itself, or is it because they continue to receive customers without a break time and the servers do not have a break?Also, I am very curious about whether the service training for employees at the head office was incorrect.

Galbi is too expensive. I paid 20 dollars for the ribs, which are as much as real ant poop... I recommend never ordering ribs, but instead go to Hamjibak and eat them, order steak at a Western-style restaurant, or eat unlimited barbecue at a meat restaurant. I pay $20 and get about 8 pieces of meat the size of a bill folded in half.

BCD is so famous in LA that I dont think any further explanation is needed. Some say it is no longer as tasty as before, but tourists from Korea will find it a welcome Korean taste. You may have to wait a bit during dinner time, but it is still a Korean restaurant you can enjoy comfortably.

The Dolsotbap was so sticky that it was hard to chew. My husband ate pork soft tofu and had diarrhea all night long, and his stomach was pounding. I boiled porridge in the morning to soothe his stomach. I remember going there in the past, but they also made side dishes. It was in bad condition, as if it had been put there for a long time. It seemed very insincere.
