This is a low-key vegetarian restaurant serving North Indian cuisine, sweets, and chaat items. I was happy to see typical Indian pastries here!I liked dahi papdi chaat and sev puri. It was a tad bit salty for others, but I generally like salty items. Dahi was served generously.Aloo Paratha is worth a try. Quite the quantity, delicious, served with boondi raita and pickle.Chole Bhature was okayish. I would say you can skip it. I have had much better tasting chole elsewhere. These were very homely types. Didnt feel like a professionally made chole. Bhature were of good size.The problem we faced was the loud cartoons and children songs they were playing on the TV. It was super irritating and hard to chit chat amongst ourselves. Some other music would have been better. It was probably for a toddler on another table, but thats not right. The child was not the only customer eating there.Overall, a value for money restaurant where rates are lower than other restaurants in the Bay area.

Worst experience! Would give 0 star. Ordered mirchi bajji,it tasted horrible and everything was weird from looks,texture,taste. Dip given was like pani puri water. Adding pictures!.Also, it’s not cheap, they’re charging quite well but failed to deliver good quality food. would not eat even if it is offered free.

I placed an order for 10 rotis, dal makhni, kadi, baingan ka bharta, and dal tadka. However, the Nepalese woman inside overcharged us for our meal, and once we began eating at home, we found that the container for the dal tadka was cracked and leaking and that the kadi was missing. Adding to this food was salty and so bad in taste. Poor staff efficiency, careless attitude, bad food, and terrible services. I wouldnt advise placing an order from this place.

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars. Some of the items here are good and some are not. They are edible but did not taste well. Items I found to be good - baingan bharta, masala puri, raita, aalo paratha, roti and samosa chaat. Items that were not good - bhel puri, potato curry on the side of puri and regular puri. The tamarind sauce used in their chaat was more tangy and less sweet. But it is usually otherwise.

So far one of the favorite places Ive been in bay area for Indian food. You also get a free sample for Pani puri (no purchase required)The food is really good, and really spicy for the curries (but in a way that while youre suffering its worth the flavor). The chicken curry is very oily, but in a flavorful way.They modify dishes easily, like you can remove cheese from sandwiches etc. So many of their vegetarian sandwiches can be modified to be vegan if you request. However a downside is no vegan options for their drinks, they only use dairy milk for their milk teas.

I tried chole bhatura a few years ago and it was delicious. Recently, we tried kadhai paneer and malai kofta. Kofta tasted more like a aloo vada than a malai kofta. The curry was milky, watery and bland. Kadhai paneer didnt even look like kadhai paneer and was very bland.

Highly recommend this place to all Chaat lovers. They have very good options for chat, parathas and curry combos. They serve one of the best bread pakora I ever had. Their paneer wrap is also a must try. Prices are very reasonable. In their sweets section, I only tried Ras Malai, and it was really good and fresh.

Update:Visited this place again. This time we tried makki ki roti and sarson ka saag along with Aaloo Paratha. All of it was AMAZING! Completely authentic and delicious. I really hope people show some more love to this place. Quantity of the food was good as well..Old Review:Rating it a solid 5 for chhole bhature! Amazing, crispy and fluffy bhature! Chhole are really flavourful too… no unnecessary overpowering taste!

OVERPRICED, with a big-time LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.Usually I see such places as Bombay Chaat House to be a quick-bite stop, and so I went there on a Sunday evening with a friend of mine. The place appreared to be OK with a wide variety of offerings. Though, its Chaat (Indian Street Food) is surprisingly limited compared to what the cuisine could offer. Does not do justice to its name.Moving on, we ordered a few items, including a paneer (cottage cheese) dish. The person on the cunter was running all over the place and made us wait multiple times before finally settling down and taking our order. need to mention, he did calculate the final price of all items wrong, which I had to correct him.And when we finally got our order, we found a stlae piece of the paneer piece tucked well deep in the dish. I went to the counter to complain and quick realized from their cold and their defensive excuses (that the item is all good) that its futile to get it right. The stale piece looked so distinctively different (SEE PICS) and tased so wierd that we could not have the dish anymore. Had to throw all the stuff and left with a bad impression and an unfilled appetite, to a better chaat house.My first (and last) visit to this place.

One of the best Indian re in Bay Area, The aloo oniparatha is yummilicious and the biggest plus the stuffing of aloo onions daniya and green chilies combination is mind blowing yummilicious .Dahi papdi is so good adding up with tamarind sauce it’s more delicious.Chole bhature is mouth watering I love it and felt like home, The environment is peaceful and calm place to dine in .Will definitely visit soon .

I wish i could be able to give negative review for this restaurant as these peeps served devastating food with disgusting people who are working there also I threw away lot of stuff and felt guilty about it as people are struggling to have a good food in this entire Universe and below are the reasons why I am saying this1) No good hospitality none of the employees working there have a good speaking capabilities.2) Food is totally awful as I ordered multiple things such as Paav bhaji, Samosa, Chole bhature etc and all of those were not cooked well enough to chew or eat.3) I had the worst taste of each and every piece I have ate here and unfortunately i end up throwing it.4) I never had this bad experience at any chaat places in Bay Area and this was pathetic one which I will never recommend to go to anyone.5) Paid 50$ but was the worst I had.

Excellent vegetarian food. The place can accommodate about 20 people for dining in. There is a good size parking lot, though quite busy during weekends due to adjacent New India Bazar.This place has been around for long time. The food quality is consistently good. There are a few lunch combos available on the menu where the customers can chose one or two vegetable dishes from choice of 8 or 10 dishes. The set lunch has good portion of veggies. Kali daal, bhindi, aloo gobi and kadhi pakora are some of my favorites. You might want to get a cup of tea or lassi to go with your meal. There are variety of chat items offered, samosas and dahi papdi chat are my favorite.

Not great for chaat. The puri and batura were hard, the aloo in the aloo puri was like aloo curry. The bhel had garbanzo beans. The pav bhaji was sweet. The Bombay sandwich was not at all like a sandwich and tastes was below average. The chole curry was decent. In general I felt the quality was not great. Felt sick and heavy the whole of next day.

This was my initial review.The food was great. The quantity was also a lot. The items were delicious. There should have been more seats and sufficient place to sit.The second time, when I went there I was treated badly and Ill never come here again.The cashier ( Punjabi young man) needs to have some manners and learn English if hes staying in US. He was extremely ill mannered and short tempered. He billed three items instead of two. How can someone be so foolish?I understand mistakes happen, but then he started blaming me in Hindi for his errors. He tried to make a scene and I felt uncomfortable and wanted to walk out.

Stale food and missing ingredients !!! Always wondered why such low rating. Ordered a pickup and waited at the restaurant . When I brought back the dishes home, Bhelpuri neither had onions nor potato (it was not even Jain Bhelpuri ). All it had was the sauce, puffed rice and channa. The other dish was Bombay burger which had two thick pieces of Paneer, a veggy patty and soggy greens. The greens were stale and smelling so bad that I could hardly eat the burger and had to throw is away. Will definitely avoid this place even though it is the nearest one. Better option is to get a ready to eat option from India Bazaar next door.

Had the worst experience here. Ordered a Pani Puri, Sprout Bhel, and Samosa Chaat. After 20 minutes another costumer that came in and order 10 minutes after me received the same Pani Puri. When I asked how long ours was going to take they said they were still making our order. After they had made the same thing for someone else. When we asked why they got the same order earlier, and everyone else that came after us got their order they shouted at us and told us to get out. For veg options, a decent outlet for vegetarians where one can have theplas, paav bhaaji, combo meals and chaat. Must visit here. The taste of food has degraded over time. Bought channa masala(the most basic dish from North india), I havent had such bad tasting channa masala ever. Roti and Gobi paratha had no flavor, looks like the food was prepared from low quality ingredients.

Good place for some delicious North Indian food. It’s a pure vegetarian place. Not a complete restaurant type, but it’s more like a snack/ mini meal place. There is no table service here. The combos are good here. You get sweets also at this place. Placed right besides the New Indian Bazar, makes it a place to have some quick snacks during evening while doing grocery shopping. Parking is little tough during weekends. It’s a mile away from I-680 and CA 237.

I wish I had a 0 star option I ordered a aloo paratha today and the paratha I got was like 1 or 2 days old which made me almost puke when I first ate a bite of smelly paratha I understand sometimes it is busy but while cutting or packing it they should have noticed it and should have remade it but they were careless to give smelly paratha out to regular customer like this is not at all acceptable I hope service gets better and nobody deserves a smelly food when they pay full price for it.

Food is okay, but the chaats (sev puri, bhel puri) arent that great. The food quantity is decent at the set price, but save your taste buds the trouble of eating their chaats. There are better chaat places, if you are really looking for good Indian street foods. Halfway through the food, you feel like skipping; it doesnt feel that fresh or well made. The curries are decent in taste, but please dont go for the chaats!

Been visiting here for the past 3 years and counting.. The taste and quality has been consistently great.. Fabulous home-style North Indian food and snacks, especially their parathas, Sarson ka saag, and Punjabi kadhi.. It was very bad experience with the old guy who was in cashier today 14th august 2021. He was very very rude. He doesn’t know how to talk to customers and specially to girls . I have asked to warm eatable items as it was cold, he told “we cant do” in a rude tone, upon requesting again he replied “we cant do means we cant do, we don’t have time” and he responded in very very harsh voice.His behavior made me to take decisions to cut “Bombay Chaat” name from my favorite restaurant list .I ll never head towards this restaurant again .I would have given minus star if option was available.Last but not the least if any one has email of manager of bombay chaat then please let me know as i want to complain .

The restaurant is least bothered about customer service. My relatives have been buying from here for long time and suggested for takeout especially for the Kadi combo. I ordered for combo 2 (Kadi) and was given combo 1 (lentil, which I don’t like at all).I reached home I called the restaurant and the order taker blamed me instead of any apology. I spoke to the owner and at least he apologized but asked me to come and pick up the correct order when I clearly told him that I cannot come back (we came back from a long trip). He just said he cannot do anything about delivering the correct order even though the restaurant has delivery with Uber, Grub etc. The whole experience was pretty disappointing especially their attitude.

Definitely worth it for Vegetarian dishes for a decent price. Combo Meals are worth the money that you can buy them for under 7-9$. They have variety and make eggless cakes too. They taste really good. They do take To-go orders and are really open and honest if there are issues. Employees are good and they do their work well. I have always had their CHAI which is included with the combos (you can choose the CHAAS too if you dont like CHAI).

Good affordable food. Shev puri was good but the rasmalai was not up to the mark.I was here with bunch of friend and most of them liked the food. Chai is complimentary. Had to add lot of sugar though.The place is relatively clean and enough seating for couple small groups. Friendly staff and quick service.Parking is limited as this place is close to new india bazaar and other stores. There is not much rush here but place is quite busy. Hands down the best place in the Bay Area to have Hara Bhara Paratha!! It is absolutely amazing. Nice and even, with good amount of stuffing. Right amount of spice and very well balanced. I go to Bombay Chaat House so many times and always end up having Hara Bhara Paratha and Bombay burger. They have really good Chole Bhatura as well. But the paratha is something I absolutely LOVE there!

This is the typical Indian Sastaa aur tikaavu place. The food is good, prices are pretty reasonable and wait times are not too much. Do try paneer paratha, makki di roti with sarsom ka saag, Bhel, Dahi papdi chaat, Chole Puri and thali. They do serve sweets and cakes (without egg) too but didnt found these great. Overall a must try if you are on tight budget or want to save some time.

This place was what youd expect looking at it from the outside. They serve fast, low-quality food. Chole Papdi Chaat was fine, but the atrocity that they called mixed vegetable biryani was a shame. The place looked run down enough to be an authentic indian dhabba (plastic chairs, dirty tables), but the food was a colossal disappointment.jira rice hardly had any cumin in it and was not warm and of poor quality (cheapest kind and not fresh). black lentil dhal soup was with just chilli hot, but not properly spiced. and chana massala was the worst and was simply just a brown mash of chickpeas with a lot of chilli pepper and nothing else. ghobbi (cauliflower) dish was ok. This is an Indian Vegetarian Snacks place and you will always find a good indian population in here. They have an exhaustive menu however they are semi-lunch, snack, or dinner place. Dont expect full scale meals like in restaurants. Apart from combo items ( which are like mini lunch/dinner) you can enjoy traditional indian chat, sweets and tea.Their service is always consistent and I go their at least twice per week on my way to India Bazaar which is just next door to this place. I have been to this place twice so far, and never in life have i come across such rude, uncivilized, discourteous, arrogant, blunt & unfriendly waiters cum workers at the billing counter. The first time I had a bad experience, I avoided arguing or giving a bad review considering that people have their ups and downs in a day and I did not want to make it an issue. However after another encounter today, its clear that this place hires people who are positively unethical and unrefined. If a customer asks for a TO-GO order and you expect them to come to the counter and collect it after sometime, you are supposed to let them know about it in advance. We are not getting things from you for FREE, for you to show such arrogance and make the customer wait without informing anything. The bad-mannered billing person just watched me sitting and waiting and after 40 minutes of wait ( I didnt want to rush them), & when i ask him if its ready, the idiot gives a cold look and murmurs to himself that my order is at the counter. When I went to the counter, he reads a wrong menu and asks if that is what I ordered. So much for thinking not to rush them in the first place. He doesnt even apologize for making me wait or not having made my order ready, takes the PHAV bread packet casually in front of me and goes to the kitchen, to start preparing it. I wanted to badly shout at him but he never came out after that knowing I was waiting at the counter. After another 15 mins, he came out and handed over the order to another person to hand it over to me and left back to the kitchen.. The PHAV bread was half toasted( just like his brain I guess) and had such a raw awful aroma. Dated 28th July 2016, this is for the bearded guy in black framed spectacles who wore a black shirt / t-shirt : JUST QUIT IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DO YOUR JOB!
