Ive eaten at Boo Koo so many times, I was surprised to see that I have never written a review. The food is always good and made with fresh ingredients. I love the hot edamame are delicious.

We walked by Boo Koo and the smell convinced us that it was going to be amazing. When we finally sat and ordered however we were more than a bit disappointed. The food wasnt bad but I was hoping for a more authentic experience. We got the wings and although they were ok they were not special not did they taste of any Asian seasoning. It came with buffalo sauce and ranch.... The pho tasted like chicken noodle and the bahn mi steak was not worth the additional 6.00 ... I will say the Arny iced tea was good but again not very Vietnamese. In summary not really worth a repeat visit.

Boo Koo is hands down our favorite restaurant in Marin. The vibe is is so fun and inviting. The menu is tasty, healthy, and fresh. The potstickers are out of this world and my kids love them! The new look is bright and refreshing. I always walk out feeling happy!

I hope this can be taken as constructive criticism. I really like this place - most of the time. Unfortunately, it seems as if they have two different cooks who dont follow the same recipes. Ive been here dozens of times over the years and always enjoyed the same few dishes. On three recent occasions, however, the food I was served bore little resemblance to what Im accustomed to. It was bland and overcooked.Normally, all cooks at a restaurant follow exactly the same recipes and prepare those recipes in exactly the same way. Boo Koo is like two different restaurants, only its a coin toss which one youll wind up at on any given day. I love boo Koo #1 and hate boo Koo #2.

Honestly I didnt expect a place like this in lily white old Mill valley downtown. A pleasant surprise! We had a great meal. Reminds alot of place like Spice Kit and Asian Box. I had their Mint salad and my daughter had the tofu Banh Mi. The salad was very fresh good, though over dressed for my taste. The banh mi was very good. We also had the spring roll appetizer. Sadly it was exactly one spring roll. I wished they would charge a bit more and include a few more.I would go back here next time I hike on the Dipsea.

Absolutely delicious! I ordered the Boo Koo Peanut Noodles with Hoisin Pork and a side of Brussels Sprouts.The pork in the noodles was meaty and fatty and amazing! The flavor of the peanut sauce with all of the vegetables and noodles was perfect.The Brussels sprouts were very good as well. A little more done than I normally like mine cooked, but the flavors were delicious and the helping generous. Plus there is a surprise at the end; some extra veggies which have soaked up the extra sauce.I highly recommend this restaurant if youre looking for some great Asian-fusion!

Food was really good, but a bit pricey. Parking isnt great, but that goes for anything along this stretch of town, really. Not a fault of the restaurant, but still can be a pain if youre not already walking about. Decor is nice and bright and the staff was friendly.

Absolutely love this place! The menu has a variety of options, all that are fresh and leaving you feeling healthy after eating. The ambiance was an inviting bar area, a sitting area with lower tables and seating outdoor as well. Tons of options!! People of all generations were coming and going grabbing take out and tables for lunch while we were there. It seemed like a real gathering place. And the staff was top notch making you feel right at home. Couldn’t recommend this place more!!

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Where to start with how horrendous this food is…. Served ice cold, clearly made with zero love or care, obviously no consideration or thought behind the food, obviously comes from a plastic bag that was flash frozen… oh I know, how about the fact that even though this food isn’t fit to feed to a starving dog. I spent over 80$ on this so called food and it practically went straight to the trash it was so bad. I only hope and pray I don’t get food poisoning from this trash. Let’s start with the “bahn mi” which was so awful and offensive it might bring the Vietnamese people to actually launch an assault on our country. It traditionally comes with pickled carrots and daikon radish with a choice of proteins on a French baguette… for starters the carrots and daikon radish weren’t pickled at all, the protein (which was steak) wasn’t even on the sandwich, literally no meat and it didn’t come on a baguette at all!! Oh and the bento was ice cold that came with vegetables that clearly weren’t fresh and obviously came from a a bag that was frozen. Even the cookie it came with was so far beyond sub par I would need to write a full other review to capture how horrible it was. Normally I would have this review chalk full of foul language, but I won’t stoop to that level. I’ll leave you with some words of wisdom…. Do. Not. Eat. Here. Good bye

The kid’s bento box was perfect for my 4 year old daughter (super picky eater and having everything separated worked) and the ginger and lime syrup sodas were amazing (super refreshing and tasty- I don’t normally drink sodas). I ordered the pad thai with tofu and thought it was pretty awful. There were like 10 noodles and waaaaay too much sauce that wasn’t even close to tasting like pad thai. It was basically soy sauce. The tofu also wasn’t cooked correctly and absorbed too much soy sauce. My husband ordered the chicken pho which should have been indicative enough and when I asked how it was he shrugged. It just didn’t taste quite right. If I wasn’t with my kids, I would probably go to the bar as it was lively. Maybe this place is more bar with “bar food” but the flavorings still need help. I would not recommend those 2 dishes if you wanted Thai or Vietnamese food.

Had to bring take out back multiple times because it was either wrong or missing something or just not cooked properly. Lived in south east Asia for four years and their dishes reminded me little of the amazing food abroad.

This was a welcome surprise find while visiting my parents here in Mill Valley. Staff was great: friendly, helpful, smiling and attentive. The food was all really good and unfortunately disappeared before any pictures could be taken. Prices were fair especially with the cost increases hitting everything. We did both regular and vegan pot stickers, the Boo Koo peanut, salmon salad, and the New Dawn Rice Bowl. Buen Provecho!

BooKoo is always a special treat for me. I usually get their GCN with rice noodles & Green Curry Chicken topper. Just to be clear, the food here is not bad, but there are better options about.My main problem is that this seems a place that panders to what I consider the worst part of the healthy, eco-conscious movement. Labeling is first, tasty food second.I ordered the Pad Thai, and although it was somewhat enjoyable, it felt like a missed opportunity: Fresh but uninspired and overpriced (with the addition of protein.)I feel I should note that the service was good, and the space very clean, the beer selection decent, but the food tasted just OK.Edit (five years later):Came back recently and got a banh mi and a summer roll. It was actually pretty good, definitely better than when they first opened up. The portions were small, but not outrageously so.Definitely not a 3/5 place anymore.

Good food and refreshing beverages with quick service and kindly staff. The space has limited seating, but theres space inside and outside. The food is definitely an Asian-fusion take that is served quickly. It might look small, but its surprisingly filling. I had the red curry with tofu, and it was alright. My friends had the green curry, shaking beef, banh mi and mint salad. Everyone liked their dishes and said it was very filling. Only drawback for me was the lack of spice and cost.Id go back if invited or needed a quick bite.

Unfortunately their food has been slipping in quality. I’ve been coming here for the past years. 2 weeks ago I had the chicken Pho, a dish I used to love, now the chicken tasted like rubber and I couldn’t eat it. Yesterday I ordered the sriracha and my wife a curry rice dish. The sriracha soup was extremely mushy and tasted like it had been sitting for days; my wife’s curry was extremely dry and the spices were missing. Boo Koo, please bring the ❤️ back in your food!!!

We had enjoyed a meal here once before and wanted to take our college-aged kids for dinner on 5/20/18. When we arrived, there seemed to be a line out the door, so we figured they were very busy. On looking inside, the only problem was that the empty tables werent being bussed.The party in front of us got tired of waiting and went elsewhere. A female server offered to bus a table for us, and she quickly cleared the dishes, but several more minutes passed while we waited for someone to come back and wipe the table clean. We finally asked someone to wipe it down, but then we decided just to sit outside at the small counter, and we told the same female server we wanted to eat out there.Ten minutes passed before one of us finally went back inside to ask why we werent being greeted or taken care of. The employees said they thought we were waiting for a takeout order!It seemed like there was no management present, and the employees had no clear direction on how to prioritize what needed to be done to keep things running smoothly. We left and went across Miller for a lovely dinner at the Balboa Cafe.

Mill Valley restaurants can be stuffy, overrated and mediocre at times so a place like Boo Koo is a breath of fresh air. Its unpretentious, usually has the best beer menu in town (when its not sold out) and has a delicious menu. The wings are spicy but stellar. The salads are fresh and tasty and the soups are delicious.

Very good service and impressive menu. My vegan ban mee sandwich was surprisingly bland, although the vegan summer roll and dipping sauce were quite tasty. Would try again and choose different dishes.UPDATE: Ive been to Boo Koo several times since my first visit, and while the service and ambiance remain very good, the food is still hit or miss. The yellow curry is truly delicious, thanks to the perfect balance of spices and coconut milk. The ramen, by contrast, is quite bland, requiring a massive dose of Sriracha sauce to give it some flavor / bite. Fortunately, the summer / spring rolls are still yummy and Ive had good luck with the special IPA offerings.

Shouldve taken the time to find the add-ons buried down in the menu further in order to see surf n turf add on was the same price of the dish ($9.95!) Wouldve been better without the add on, honestly. 3 pieces of shrimp and incredibly chewy pieces of beef that tasted like they should be been in a street taco for $19.90. sodium levels were deathly high in this dish ugh. Pho took wayyyyyyy too long!!! Waited over 15 mins for pho. If this was a typical Vietnamese restaurant, I’d be done eating and outta there in 15 mins. Plus it didn’t taste like your typical Vietnamese chicken pho. It was more catered for white people. It wasn’t gross but just not what I’m use to. Likely won’t be visiting here again. There are plenty of OTHER authentic Vietnamese quick eats in the Bay Area to choose from.

Ordered a green curry banh mi at lunch and the order came in a few minutes. It was roughly 9.40 for just the sandwich, which is really pricey for just a naked banh mi. After unwrapping the sandwich I was tempted to just return it and not eat it. It looked like grey sludge between bread with the stingiest amount of pickled vegetables. Flavor was bland and having creamy curried chicken with the excess of mayo on the sandwich was too much for the tiny amount of vegetables to combat. Almost didnt finish it but then I realized it was 10 dollars. Maybe the other types of banh mi are better but for 10 dollars the sandwich was just not worth the cost or the lack of flavor. Get something else.
