Today made cashier/owner im guessing made my sons cry. He yelled at my son because he got 2 closed to his laptop that he had in the dining area for customers. Mind you my son didnt even touch his laptop. He was extremely rude and aggressive towards my three-year-old. Who is just showing me what sushi roll He wanted as he got too close to the table with all the stuff, spall out. Never going back again. Theres way better sushi spots anyways

Absolutely Disgusting food WORST sushi place in Simi Also while we were eating there I seen a COCKROCH Crawling up the wall. Must have been cause the place is so dirty. NEVER GOING BACK and also I had food Poisoning after !!!!

By far, the worst sushi place you will ever go to!!! The cashier was extremely rude and definitely not a family atmosphere Either the cashier watches us eat the entire time with my kids like he wanted us to leave and and the kids were bothering him mind you i have a 8y old and a 13y old & top it off the food was nasty & not fresh and no Flavor

Food is so delicious and the price was so cheap for the amount! I got the chicken teriyaki bowl and it was 7 dollars and 75 cents not including tax. The bowl was packed to the brim and for less than 10 dollars, the food was so good and really filling.

SUUUPER YUMMY FOOD. I went there for the first time a bit ago and they had a huge menu of things to choose from. I usually order a Beef california bowl and the meat is so tasy idk what they use as a sauce but its really good. i also got a miso soup which was alright. I was hoping for the little green leaves that come with it but it didnt come with them. Though it makes sense since its only 2 dollars and the cup is actually a decent size for the price. I think some items a teeny bit overpriced (im a broke college student so maybe im being cheap) but i think its worth it the food taste so homemade. 10/10 do recommend!

I have been going here for over 15 years and the food is as good as the first time I tried it. The Spicy Tuna bowl is my favorite although I enjoy the Teriyaki Chicken bowls too. One of the only places that have not raised their prices during these tougher times. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed.

The guy who stands in the cashier. OMG he had an attitude. Stopped by to enjoy their Ramen soup. I was handed a pack of food even though I wanted to eat inside. I Was treated like “why are you here!!” “Leave”. The cashier guy didnt even stop to listen when I said I want to dine inside. He handed the take away food and left? . I asked for Napkins. I was told why you want more!!! I gave you some in the plastic. This is not how you treat your clients. Absolutely not recommended

The prices are reasonable. The place is clean and the prep/coming area is visible. There is little ambiance so not a place to on date night. The Sushi was good and they made it the way I asked. It was prepared quickly. The menu had s great selection. You order at the counter so save a little on tips. Not the friendliest place but I think English is their second language. When I ordered there was a policeman in front of me. I figure anywhere police eat is bound to be good because they cant afford to get food poisoning on the job.No WiFi yet

A coworker and I decided to try this restaurant for lunch. I’ve walked past many times before, but have never seen anyone go in. When we walked inside i was as surprised to see it was almost full of people. They have a large menu with a lot of choices. The prices are decent. Unfortunately, the quality and taste of the food wasn’t as good as I’d hoped. It was along the lines of a Panda Express, but with Japanese Food, and not quite as tasty. However, the staff was friendly, and if you’re not overly picky about your meal, and looking for a good deal, then you might give them a try.

Very good variety on their huge menu, much deliciousness to choose from here. Ive been the lone sushi fan in our home for years, but I finally convinced my wife to try the Mexico City Roll and now she asks to come here to eat. Talk about me being a happy camper, sushi no longer has to be my guilty pleasure, I can share it with the love of my life. Our son is very picky, but he loves the Chicken Katsu here, and that means the entire family can eat together and get what they want. We love this location. Great Teriyaki, sushi, and appetizers; even the Miso soup is yummy. As a matter of fact we have yet to be disappointed eating here at California Bowl; keep up the great work please.

I have been eating here for over a decade. The food is good and they have some good sized rolls. Their prices are reasonable if just a little high for some of their special rolls but all in all for the quantity of food you get it really is worth it. One and a half rolls usually fill me up.They have a reasonably large menu to choose from so even people who do not like Sushi will find something good to eat such as Teriyaki, Katsu, Udon, Yakisoba, and Ramen plus an assortment of salads (seaweed, garden, etc..) and the usual Japanese appetizer fare (gyoza, spring rolls, edamame, tofu, etc...).This place is fast and I get my food to go on my way home from work for a quick dinner. The rolls are usually ready in about 5 minutes. Cooked dishes can take longer. The interior is spartan with no frills, good for a quick meal if you do want to eat in but not a lot of ambiance. Again, better as a take out place.4 stars instead of 5 just because I generally reserve 5 stars for places that really wow me, its less about them and more about my grading scale. The food is excellent, the restaurant is clean and the service is quick.

Japanese food is not cheap. Especially good Japanese food. This is good food, but given the format of the restaurant, I was hoping it would be cheaper. The price was great for my girlfriend, but I found that the portions were too small for me and that I had to order multiple items to satisfy myself.

The wait was a bit long yet the portion was huge and the kabocha tempura was delicious. The beef was very very salty yet the amount of tempura they give you is so much, I was very full after eating this in my car!Is it Washoku? The jury is still out on this one.The menu consists of yakisoba, teriyaki, curry, and california rolls. These foods are arguably easy to make comfort foods that anyone can make at home. Yet the portion and price that California Bowl offers cannot be beat, it certainly is quantity over quality. California Bowl is a restaurant that exists in a unique realm of the Americanized Japanese food that has been cultivated here over the past century. The emphasis is on comfort and fulfillment, which strikes a cord to its many customers.

The cashier, the big fellow.... hes not welcoming or friendly. At times hes rude and passive aggressive. Never smiles and sometimes when he brings the food to the table he walks away in the middle of you asking him for something. Its a shame, the food is great but he ruins the experience !

Owner is kind of a prick and the food was decent not the best wouldnt recommend this restaurant. Its also dirty inside. And the water is out of a plastic bottle on the side of the machine and if youre like me and dont feel comfortable with that make sure to bring your own water.

A little pricey but definitely not expensive. There short rib teriyaki plate is a must try. Only thing I dont like is that the website says theyre open till 9, there door says till 8, but Ive called and even been told 8:30. Came by yesterday at 8:15 and it was closed, could have been for the Superbowl though. Still they are my favorite teriyaki place Ive ever been to!
