O2 Sushi Restaurant
2902 Tapo Canyon Rd A, Simi Valley, CA 93063, United States
I want to love this place I really do. I have gone here multiple times and in the beginning everything was great. I also didnt inspect my sushi rather shoved it in my mouth without checking anything. But for some reason I noticed my baked sushi was partially raw in some of the rolls . . . I am pregnant and breastfeeding, I know sushi is a tricky thing during pregnancy so Im putting my trust in this place but I might no longer be able to .. I got raw parts to my salmon 2 times but because the sushi was pretty good and close to home I didnt make a big deal out of it I just ordered it a different way to help this not happen. Well tonight I ordered it thinking everything would be perfect I just wanted smaller pieces of salmon on top so they would Cook all the way well I open my Togo box and the salmon is chard, burned to a crisp ... I was like ok at least Ill be eating cooked salmon... Well that wasnt the case even with this burnt salmon Im trooping through to eat theres parts that are raw still ??? Im so sad .. going to look for a new sushi place for my next order. I have photos but its not allowing me to add them here .if I figure it out Ill try posting them

Hikari Sushi

Racist employee. Will never go back. First time at this restaurant. Placed a to go order in person and paid in advance. Came back in 20 mins to pick up food. Employee questioned me about payment. I told her I came in person, placed order and had already paid. She found package which was clearly marked as Paid on the paper bag but the lady continued to question me multiple times about whether I had paid.Lady is Asian and likely Japanese. I have dark complexion. Lady finally said I could take food which I took initially. But as I walked back to car, I couldnt get past the subtle if not overt racism exhibited. Went back and returned the food. Told them to keep their food. Didnt ask for a refund and I couldnt care less about the money.I have lived in Simi Valley for years and have found the people to be open, genuine, kind and friendly. But this individual was a piece of work. This is one of those times I am thankful I went to law school and have been practicing for almost 30 years and have the ability to make a difference.

California Bowl Sushi Teriyaki
1464 Madera Rd # D, Simi Valley, CA 93065, United States
The wait was a bit long yet the portion was huge and the kabocha tempura was delicious. The beef was very very salty yet the amount of tempura they give you is so much, I was very full after eating this in my car!Is it Washoku? The jury is still out on this one.The menu consists of yakisoba, teriyaki, curry, and california rolls. These foods are arguably easy to make comfort foods that anyone can make at home. Yet the portion and price that California Bowl offers cannot be beat, it certainly is quantity over quality. California Bowl is a restaurant that exists in a unique realm of the Americanized Japanese food that has been cultivated here over the past century. The emphasis is on comfort and fulfillment, which strikes a cord to its many customers.

MoneyKey Ramen

Perhaps this is a Japanese restaurant run by a non-Japanese owner. Service and atmosphere were good. The taste is okay compared to American restaurants, but by Japanese standards, it is like a not good and overpriced meal at an amusement park.

DISAPPOINTED:1 I asked for HOT TEA and told the guy twice HOT and when he brought me the tea it was barely warm2 He never bothered to ask if we needed more soy sauce since we had an empty bottle(see picture). I had to get up and get one by myself from another table3 Garlic Edamame ?‍♀️ it was barely warm. Not even fresh4 Sushi...omg it looked like the chef just put it together with anger or NO PASSION. Look at that plate..Seriously? It was breaking in pieces and I couldnt even eat it. The rice felt like GUM and NO freshFirst and last time

Tokyo Sushi
5830 E Los Angeles Ave, Simi Valley, CA 93063, United States
My gf and I went there after reading dozens of amazing reviews of this place. First the good: The ambience and decor is iconic. Classic high end sushi dining experience. Chefs were culinary artists and the presentation was wonderful. Service was friendly and helpful. The sushi rolls were larger than other Simi Valley competitors, so the higher prices seemed allowable. We requested NO ADDED SALT. The bento box was large and delicious. Hand rolls and rainbow rolls were delicious. In truth, EVERYTHING TASTED AMAZING.Now the bad news: by the following day we both got very sick. We are both sensitive to salt, but salt never made me feel this sick. My gf was sick about 24 hours and I was sick almost three days. My guess is that they use MSG in their preparation and it made us very ill. If msg does not bother you, then you will enjoy Tokyo Sushi. If you react negatively to it, then ask first and request NO MSG in your food.

I love this place. This is what baked goods should taste like. Croissants that are like a crispy light cloud of butter. Cinnamon rolls that are delicate and just the right amount of gooey and sweet. These are not corporate cinnamon rolls. The croque monsieur was hot melty goodness on a freezing cold morning. For the fusion cuisine there are matcha muffins and matcha danishes. The matcha muffin is unusual but I loved it. Its a dense, green reminder there is a Japanese baker in charge. Im sure thats why there are yummy pastry balls filled with sweet bean paste or Japanese curry. The matcha latte was a perfect hot, creamy, foamy accompaniment to this perfect flavor parade. Loved the egg, bacon and cheese pastry as well as the sausage and jalapeno peppers covered in cheddar cheese. Did I mention she makes banana cream pie? Everything we ordered was delicious and baked to perfection. Great place to spend a Saturday morning or grab something to eat at home. If you have friends in town who will be visiting the Reagan Library, I would tell them to swing by Le Herisson and pick up a hot coffee or tea and take along some incredible pastries. This place is a keeper and another reason to be proud of our city.
