Nice place to eat by the beach. The food was good and the sevice was nice. Could clean the place a bit well.
Can you say hole-in-the-wall!! It is not a reflection of the food or service. This place is awesome! Loved my steak and eggs breakfast with french toast on the side. The whole party loved their order. Not one disappointed customer from this group. The service was wonderful. Seems like the staff knows everyone that is a regular to the Boardwalk. Such a friendly atmosphere that Im planning my next visit already.

The staff who served us were really friendly, the choices of drinks were really good too, and being on the boardwalk looking over the beach is always a winner. Sat outside so cant speak to much for the inside of this place, but if the weather is good, why would you want to be inside anyway!

Super disappointment. Really unimpressed with this place. The waiters were slow, bland and acted like they really didnt want to be there. The food was over priced and tasteless also. I feel its quite lazy when you have the make your own nachos there especially.
Had the Venezia Omelette with Hash browns. It was really good,and the coffee was good too. Super nice location and the service is very friendly.

Don’t know if it was a manager or the owner but he’s terrible. Was throwing the menus on the tables as guest arrived and was belittling his staff. He told one of the waitresses to “use her brain” or “you have it use it” as he aggressively pointed to his head. Props to the waitress that had a smile on her face after he spoke to her that way. Martina was amazing by the way!
Best mijto Ive ever had for $9 it was worth it! They just added slices of Ny Cheesecake for $7 the boys enjoyed it. The corona was flat though. But the staff was amazing and even though they were closing they still let us order. They were the only place that let us actually!
Diner style food at a fun, outdoor area on the beach. The food was great, the prices were fair, and the waitress was amazing. We were visiting, but I would go back if I returned to the area.Tip - get the California omelette.
We didnt stop here for food, only drinks. With that being said, the food they delivered to other tables seemed really good and portions looked huge. We ordered a pitcher of their Golden Chaos drink, which was delicious and reasonably priced. The service here was super friendly as well. Nice place with a decent amount of seating.
I loved the scenery and people watching of venice, but my husband and I didnt find it terribly exciting. The redeeming quality was the food! There are some great places to eat along the boardwalk! And this is one of them. Their fish and chips were delicious and the atmosphere and service were good for right off the boardwalk. Would recommend!
Lady was nice and the drinks were good. The Mimosa was tasty with an appropriate, on the side of strong, portion of prosecco. Went during happy hour and a beer plus a mimosa was 9 bucks... Thats not bad.

This place was an AMAZING experience overall. There were 5 of us (2 children) and everyone LOVED their food. For those of you with kids, you know how hard it is to please everyone. The service staff was VERY friendly and professional. Kira was our server, and we ADORE her. We have one more night in this area and we are coming back to see her for another FABULOUS meal!
This is a wonderful beachside cafe. There are tables out on the boardwalk where we had our breakfast. The servers were really friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious. The coffee was terrific. I had a chorizo brique--scrambled eggs and sausage and then deep-fried into a brick. It came with a salad dressed with a simple balsamic vinaigrette and potatoes, with a spicy Harissa dipping sauce that was really delicious and had quite a kick to it. My friend also loved her meal. We will most definitely be back!
The wings were extremely fatty. We sent them back and they still tried to charge us for them. After talking they ended up taking the wings off the bill. I paid in cash, however, knowing he wasnt going to get a tip after trying to charge us for the wings he kept the coin change from my change. Terrible customer service. Of course we had to eat a wing each for us to try them. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Also nobody was here probably for a good reason! We shouldnt have sat down no matter how good the specials! Cheap food!
Their burgers are really good! my BF has the club sandwich, delicious as well. Their beer was okay, good but not cold at all. and they gave me onion rings when i ordered fries. Other than that the service and food was delish :)
So my wife and I stumbled into this restaurant by what seems almost by accident as we were simply hungry as we reached the end of the Venice boardwalk, and as we sat an ordered a few drinks we became tempted to try some of their happy hour food specials. Well, let me also start by saying that my wife picked this place out, and I was eager to just grab a few drinks and walk back to a Peruvian restaurant we had seen, but when I tried their Calamari, I instantly began thanking her for making such a wise intuitive decision! This Calamari has so much love in it, we think they boil it so it gets extra tender, then they fry it in a perfectly seasoned zesty light batter and serve it with fresh peppers and an amazing sauce! It quickly became our favorite place to come eat in Venice, and we have been going back ever since! Service is amazing, and the view is to die for!
Great place to stop in and get a beer and quality burger, however they are a little more pricey then your regular 🍔 spot ($15) but you will understand why. This is a pet friendly establishment, server was kind and brought my dog a bowl of water without me even having to ask. Came in for a quick coffee and breakfast sandwich to go. Service was quick. Coffee delicious! And location is awesome. I would live to come hang out on the patio and do some people watching. Warning, early in the day, there are still a lot of homeless around. I mean, it is Venice Beach!
This place gets 5 stars for 2 things - the location but most of all the service. We have been coming here for years during breakfast and have come to know our favorite server very well. Were here so much that the other servers even greet/hug us and are super friendly. Great beer menu and very fun to people watch. Another plus is that you can order ANYTHING from the menu at breakfast. Im not a breakfast food person so its great to be able to eat from the lunch and dinner menu. Very reasonable prices also.
Good food with good-sized portions. Prices typical for Venice Beach, higher than normal but not outrageous. They do cater to all the local customs -- gluten-free everything is available sustainable practices, etc etc. Service is friendly and efficient. A good spot for people-watching if you eat outdoors, sometimes you even get some free live music courtesy of the boardwalk. The beers on tap are a nice bunch, though they always seem to be out of at least one, maybe Im just unlucky.
This was quite possibly the worst burger Ive ever had. And it wasnt just me. We had 6 in our party and the 4 of us who ordered burgers had the same experience; stale and over-toasted bun and overcooked patty, the avocado slice that cost an extra $2.50 was too small to justify the expense. Though, the side salad was actually fairly decent, it wasnt enough to fit the burger. The other two in our group had cold French toast and a dry turkey club sandwich. The beer seemed a little warm, though it was the highlight of the meal. I would have given only one star but the host and servers were helpful and kind. It was really just the food that was bad.Its a prime spot at Venice and with an improvement in the food quality it can be a nice place for a bite to eat while people watching and a great view of the ocean.

Here on a Tuesday morning ( afternoon for me) and the food portions are larger than expected. The food is very good! Im not a pancake fanatic, but they are very good!! Next time Ill try the blueberry ones! Thank you for most excellent service!

I don’t know if I just went to this place at a bad time or what but I had the worst service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. I have to say the location was awesome and the view was great but omg the service stunk. We asked to sit outside and the hostess gave us menus and pointed to a table. Yikes. After sitting at the table for over 15 minutes we waved her over and asked if we could order drinks because no one had helped us. A table was sat across from us and a waitress helped them and put in their order before anyone had even acknowledged us. Annoying. I ordered a cranberry and vodka and it was by far the strongest drink I’ve ever had at a bar and i’m a college student so that’s kind of saying a lot. The food came out quick but no one came over to talk to us and 20 minutes after we finished eating we had to wave the same hostess down to get the check. We had one drink each and an appetizer and were here for well over an hour which stinks because we wanted to explore other places but didn’t really get the chance to because they took forever.
I had the ham and cheese omelette and my wife got the California omelette. We both loved our breakfast. Service was prompt and kind.
Weve been in the past. Food isnt good but its nice to sit and people watch. But after yesterday, well never return... We left at 11:30 am (Sunday Nov 6th). The hostess saw our 5 pound dog and said she would need to stay on the outside. I showed her our dog bag and said shed go inside it. She stared at us. So we repeated it and she scowled. I asked if she speaks English because she acted like she wasnt understanding a word we said. She said no then proceeded to laugh loudly with another employee and spoke English as were were sitting to dine. My husband stood up and said, lets go. As we walked passed her I ask if she was the hostess. She then asked if I was a person. Yup! As we kept walking she began shouting, Would you like to talk to the manager ?!! My husband is a 60 year old doctor. We were respectful and pleasant to this person. We live in Culver City. Will NEVER go back there. ..And for her to yell about a manager, it must be because it wouldnt matter to them. What an embarrassing, unprofessional, and rude hostess. We ended up at Larrys where everyone is always welcoming and the food is good.
Went here on Thanksgiving morning, it was not overly busy. Food was tasty but my dish came out lukewarm and they had gotten my bread choice wrong they also had brought the entirely wrong meal for my girlfriend, so now they had to put in another correct order for her. By the time her meal came out, we had already shared my plate. Its a shame. Maybe i was just a one off mistake, but I was not too impressed. Another waitress apologized for the mistake, but the waiter who took our said nothing.
March 30 2019. HORRIBLE SERVICEMy friends and I decided to go to here. One of us ordered a lemonade(3.00), another ordered chicken club(17.00) and I ordered a kids chicken strip meal (10.00). First of all,The bill was thrown at us after asking for it, not a big deal but still. The bill read $40.10 total. We go to pay and ask our waiter (Lakers shirt) to split and he says “not going to happen” and walks away from us. Then we ask the woman who sat us down for help and she says “I only clean tables” and walked away. The man comes back and raises his voice at us when we ask why we can’t all pay separately. He starts to loudly say that we are wasting his time and he is really busy and to figure it out. My friend only had card and no cash so we asked to pay on the card and he said that it would be charged double?? Two of us ended up throwing all the cash we had together just to get out of their because we felt so uncomfortable being yelled at by a grown man when we are only 18 years old. We have never felt so disrespected at an establishment as a polite, paying customer. On top of it all we were automatically charged a 20% gratuity when we were only a party of four. On the menu it says parties of 5 are charged soo that was awesome.
After arriving to the beach early, not many places were open but Candle Cafe was and the staff was super friendly and very welcoming. As silly as it sounds, I was so excited that my eggs were cooked exactly as I wanted them, not many people can get my over medium just right. Food was tasty, staff was friendly and atmosphere was nice.

You pay a little more, but then this is right on the beach with an ambiance that you get nowhere else for the same price. Its worth it!!!Since I mentioned the vegan option I will clarify, this is not a vegan restaurant, it just has vegan options. Also, dogs are allowed on the patio perimeter tables.
I went there today with my husband and kids. Was sat rather quickly had our waitress take our drink order within the first 3 minutes from when we arrived which was great. 10 mins passed after our drink orders were taken so I took my daughter to use the restroom and wash her hands (the door was broken by the way so my daughter and I had to take turns holding the door so no one would walk in on us). When I returned I noticed a tray of drinks in the table in front of us and it just sat there, I also noticed a family getting sat inside and another family getting sat next to us. Then the waitress showed up maybe 10 minutes later and it turned out those drinks were ours. The ice had alrady melted, the soda was flat. She also forgot my husbands soda and straws. She started to take our order when she realized we needed straws so she excused herself to go get some, even though we suggested that the straws could wait. She did not return after that. We noticed both families who got there 15 mins after we did getting their food. It had been at least 50 minutes at this point and our order had yet to be taken. My husband had to go inside to look for her to remind her we were still there and she still took her time to get to us. She never apologized for the inconvenience. The owner passed by several times also and never asked if we needed anything. I would not recommend this place the service was horrible the menu is over priced and the place seriously needs some maintenance. For crying out loud how do u have a womans restroom with NO LOCK!!!
Nice cafe restaurant at the lively Venice beach of Los Angeles city. Both casual indoor and outdoor seating is available, it is open from early in the morning for coffee, food or drink. We did not eat to the restaurant, we just ordered coffee and refreshments. Take way is also an option. The service is good.
Food was okay, but service was terrible. Waitress seemed annoyed to do anything for us. A 20% gratuity was automatically added to our bill which I changed to 10%. I always tip 20%, but made an exception this time. We had a family of 5 and the place wasnt overly busy.

Im not one to normally do this, but considering they took extra payment from my card when it wasnt authorized ( yep stole from me ) I couldnt keep quite, one the staff members was clearly high, and spitting at the front of the restaurant upon arrival. Should have been a sign.Our food was awful, my meal was burnt, I also requested no onion on my dish, but it still came with onion I had to pick out, and my partners meal gave him food poisoning after the chicken was no prepared or cooked properly.Our server was ok, but the overal negatives outweighed his positive.Do yourself a favor and walk to the next place!

Great location on the strand in Venice Beach! Poor quality food: stale chips, cheap store bought salsa, and bland over cooked pasta. Bloody Mary tasted like they used fruit-flavored vodka. Denied my friend and I a patio table on a Thursday afternoon because those were big tables, but once we were seated we saw three other separate couples outside at the 4-top and larger tables. Gave back incorrect change. There are many far better options nearby.
The WORST customer service! Staff will ignores you! Took the manager over 20 minutes to get to our table after giving the staff three tries to get the order right... and they still didnt get it right!! They kept saying that the manager was in a meeting but when he finally came over, he said that no one told him anything... not that he attempted to help any way! Im not one to write reviews but after they way I was treated I just couldnt let it go... I left hungry and went next door to fig trees cafe that was excellent!! I wish there was an option to give no stars!
My GF and I had breakfast here for a week during our holiday. You can eat outside and enjoy the sight of the beautiful beach or inside and listen to the good music they play. Service is not bad. The food is ok. There are too many fies outside though.

I had the worst experience today at this restaurant.I was seated outside and waited 20 min before anyone acknowledged me . But, the 2 men sitting in front and behind me were not only helped but served .I asked the hostess to please get me a manager and she said ok; yet, she turned the other way and got no one .so, I asked another person to get me the supervisor and a lady (blonde hair) came and said there were no managers and what did I need .I explained my frustrations and she said she would be right back .Instead, another man came over and very rudely asked me to leave .I questioned why? And he walked away and another older lady (with a thick accent came ) and at first asked me to leave but after I explained my frustrations, she said to have a good Sunday and if I want, I can stay ..I asked her, what is your name ? just as the other lady, she refused to give me her name .I dont think I have ever been treated so rude as I did at this restaurant.I didnt eat here in fear that they may do something to my food .I use to like to eat at this restaurant ; but the last couple of times I have been treated disrespectful.
The food is horrible. The pasta was too garlicky. I ordered pancakes, that were so tough to cut and very chewy. The inside was all ripped up and the bathroom looked like a truck stop. I will never go to this dump again.
Visited with family at is directly on the sidewalk. Good service, tasty food but nothing special.Beer experience was subpar, ordered sth, they run out, also from my second order and the third was not so good either. Anyway, they give me a free sampler which was nice.

Ive ordered spaghetti bolognese which costed me $15 but was inedible - lots of fat, no proper tomato sauce and underdone mincemeat. They wrote on the bottom of their menu that they charge 20% gratuity if 5 people or more, but there were 3 of us and they charged us anyway. Not recommended.
Awesome customer service and I loved the food, came in with my wife right before they closed. They were nice enough to still attend us with a smile rather than hurry us up and get us out of there.
The food was average at best, when it eventually arrived it was cold. However the one star is predominately for the service, it was incredibly slow the staff were rude and dismissive I certainly wouldnt return.
The pizza is amazing, along with the owner being very down to earth and goes out of her way to make patrons as happy as possible. Highly recommend to anyone thats hungry or thirsty.

Service took a while, food came out wrong (Im GF, for one, and toast was white bread, eggs were wrong), server didnt do a check back for me after fixing my order. Had an auto gratuity of 20% because we were a party of five. My brother had to go find the server to split our checks because the server didnt ask. Then had to take our cards in himself as well because the server didnt come back. Toast was barely toasted, basically warm bread gone cold, turkey bacon undercooked, hash browns had no flavor and server never checked back so I couldnt get mustard or salt and pepper. To top it off, the mimosa was disgusting.
The coffee we ordered wasnt made well and we ended up going to another restaurant for breakfast just because we saw the orders that were coming out. They looks sloppy and kind of gross.. If you want a quick cheap bite... This may be a good option
So always great to grab a beer and a bite in Venice. People watching and crazy characters abound!Personally, I struck out with both the Golden Chaos (8.5% weeee!) and the Hoegarteen. But there are plenty of beers to choose (just not the bitteburger that’s posted all over). Lunch was the chicken sandwich. Nice salty and well seasoned.
Extremely pricey, even for happy hour. Food was decent but service was really lacking, and it wasnt even busy. Only 4 or 5 tables seated in the entire place, including ours.

My good friend and I went for breakfast last weekend 8/17/16,everything was fine until I found a hair in my omelette, and then on my way to the bathroom saw a rat running around the metal cans lined up in front of bathroom, Our waiter was apologetic and nice, but I have mixed feelings about going back
The staff was very nice here. My friend and i had to wait for our rental home to be ready. They allowed us to hang out for a couple hours. The food and service was awesome!

Honestly...the service was kinda bad....a restuarant no matter where its located staff should dress properly, this girl had baggy black sweater, beany sunglasses...her apparel was careless and it reflected in the service....PANKCAKES were DELICUOUS ....hashbrowns were burnt crispy and flat...worth the price....no...but its a fly by eatery ...meaning dont take your grandparents and daughter like i did and expect them to like the environment.....would i go again...yes but not By choice

For the view and price, you cannot do better. Especially at 8:15 am on Friday. Fresh and tasty.

The size of the meals is good but you shouldnt expect to be fed up for a whole day.Only critic I have is that there is way to much ice in the drinks.

2022-06-18 14:39:11If it wasnt right on the beach this would be considered a diner and a typical divy one at that. But for a quick breakfast items on the beach that wont cost you an arm, it does the trick. Dog friendly rating is a 5. They treat your pet well.

Hence, I will not state anything negative about the service.The food was more of a greasy spoon type kitchen, with hipster prices. But I only got the breakfast. Mediterranean omlette a bit on the salty side.

2017-08-01 18:15:19The beer, fish and chips was good enough. Keep in mind you are in crowded beach and they have to serve lot of customers. So you mostly enjoying your time in the beach not restaurant.
