The food here was decent. The wontons in the wonton noodle soup were hearty but the broth tasted a little too strongly of veggies.the Hainan chicken itself was very tasty and not dry at all! I would eat more of it. The rice however, was so so. I do like that you can taste the ginger but it did come off as a rather dry rice even though it should be cooked in broth. I think it would be a little better if it was served with the broth itself. The pickled veggie made the plating prettier but wasnt necessary for the dish. I came during a weekday lunch and the service was pretty fast.
This is a great place to eat, hang, casual and relax in an open inviting space while eating incredible food. The hours are great and consistent so you can be assured its open daily into the night. Great service as well. Noodles are crispy delicious, wings are the bomb, finger foods for snacking, and entrees. They deliver too.

First time here it was pretty food. Large portions of food. Stomach felt a little weird later on which is very unusual as I eat everything and specially spicy. So not sure what did it but its the only reason for a 4 star review instead of 5.
The noodles were disappointing. Maybe I expected too much for a place with noodle in the name.I ordered trio of beef. The first thing I noticed was how very salty it is, if salt’s your thing, I guess you’ll like it… the problem is that there’s nothing much going on in terms of flavor aside from the saltiness. The meat was boring and contributed nothing to the overall flavor.My wife ordered a wonton noodle soup. I thought the shrimp wontons were decently tasty, but the soup was also just mostly salt without much other flavor.Good attentive service though, very quick on the water refills to help me wash down all the salt.Overall, not worth the price.

Discovered this spot searching out new places to try near work. Let me tell you, this place is a fabulous value for quality food. We ordered an order of green beans to start. Perfectly cooked, nicely caramelized garlic and onions, great flavor overall. My friend ordered pad thai and I ordered the spaghetti noodles. The portions are very generous and the food came out quick and nice and hot. My noodles were delicious, the sauce was tomato heavy but still good and the thai basil and ground pork was the perfect balance. Definitely going back, absolutely enjoyed my lunch. Great good, great service, great value!

The place is excellent, the food is excellent ( and plentiful), the service 5-stars, and it wont break the bank by todays standards. My new go-to place. If there is any negative, its the parking. The restaurant is located in an L - shaped strip mall if mostly dining places, and at certain hours its just a nightmare. We went on a Monday evening around 6:30pm and found a spot (although not that many available). I suggest going off-hours.
Consistently great Pho and delicious appetizers. Great assortment of teas and cocktails. Must go if you like Pho and are in Costa Mesa!

Not too bad, and simple spin off of Capitol Seafood restaurant ran by their younger generation. Food is priced well and big portion. Lemongrass Roasted Chicken, capital noodle bowl and Hainan Chicken is my favorite 3 dishes so far.They can use a little more staffing for Saturday lunch rush and please bring food out the same time or a minute apart. I got my food 10 mins before my hubby did

Was there on a Thursday night. No wait, which was great. Service was a bit slow and hard to find. Menu looked to have some awesome choices. My wife got the Chow Fun, flavors were good but it was drowning in sauce. I got the Hainan Chicken Noodles and ordered as per the menu without asking for changes. It did not come with any condiments or toppings so it was pretty bland. I asked the waitress if I could have some chili-oil, like on the menu, and she never returned. Afterwards I noticed the pictures showed the soup with cilantro, fried onion- chopped onions, etc., I had none of that. We also ordered Sui Mai. It was good not great but also no condiments. No soy, vinegar, chili oil or mustard provided. Overall it was all very bland. I know they have several shops, maybe the others are better?

So, I dont write reviews often. However, I felt I had to tonight. I went to Capital Noodle tonight and got there around 8:20pm. This should be enough time for me to order and eat before they close. But thats not what happened. My boyfriend and I got turned down. We were told that they close the kitchen at 8:30pm. Mind you I got there at 8:20pm. So should be plenty of time. So we had to leave and go somewhere else to eat. I go there to eat every so often and I knew that they close the kitchen early and not by the hours that are posted on the door or whats online. But tonight was ridiculous. I told the manager that we were here two weeks ago at the same time and we were able to be sitted and served. But I guess she decided to close early tonight since they didnt have much customers. I will not be coming here for a very long time.Dont trust the hours that are posted on the door or online. I dont think they are updated and they have changed things since COVID-19. I see the employees and manager turn customers away at 8:30pm. So the restaurant really doesnt close at times that are listed. So beware. I have seen many unhappy customers walk away.

Capital Noodle Bar is pretty good, most all the dishes are well prepared and portions are often above average. The menu is divided into appetizers, soups and noodle dishes and plates. While the menu isnt exactly extensive and there are no unique items, the food itself is good. The menu is essentially Vietnamese with some Chinese items here and there. The atmosphere is modern, a lot of dark wood for tables and chairs. Decor is nice but sparse. The service is polite. The only negative I would say is the pricing is kind of high for the fare.

Wow! Thai Basil Spaghetti found here! Yes, you read this correctly and it was delicious. Great sauce and warm spaghetti satisfies like nothing else. They will adjust spicy level for you if desired. Spicy pickled cucumbers also a yummy, light starter. Lucky Buddha beer complimented and finished this meal perfectly. Great, fast service along with fair size parking lot.
Food is good jus probably won’t come here again couldn’t even wash my hands here in the pic you can see I barely have my knuckle in the water and I’m touching the bottom of the sink I just found that to ruin the whole experience after a good meal I like to be comfortable and wash my hands properly disappointing I hope they fix this immediately and by the way I’m only 5’7” so anybody over my height is definitely going to notice and be irritated
So, I actually enjoyed the food, environment and service. The waitress was very nice and the food was good. However, while eating the meal I noticed something very hard, and thankfully didnt just try and swallow it. There was a big, metal STAPLE in my noodles. I even bled, just a little from it hitting my gums. I informed the waitress and manager, and they did comp that one plate (not the whole meal surprisingly). Still though, I was freaked out and cant in good conscience return. I hope this is rare, but just be careful!
Convenient simple lunch. Down one star for a Capital Street Bowl that was underwhelming in seasoning. Ingredients were tasty, but not harmonious. There are condiments close at hand that help unify the flavor in the bowl.A piece of romaine was great for color.Down another star for incorporating tip suggestions that calculate tip including taxes.Id like to stop again and try an entree that focuses on the different beef dishes I watched be delivered at nearby patrons tables. Service was honest, quick, and pleasant.
Im not the biggest fan of this type of food but this was really good. I got the filet mignon cubes with rice, one of my favorite Asian style dishes Ive had anywhere. The meat was tender and the taste was amazing. Ill definitely come back here if Im in the area. We did order the spicy garlic wings, they werent spicy or taste like garlic, they had an odd peanut flavor.

You can never go wrong with this place! The best Chinese Fusion restaurant by Costa Mesa 😍 most of the food in the menus are all good 👍 noodle soup, rice plates and most of the appetizers 🙋♀️ Chicken Hainan and Chicken Congee, Beef Trio noodles and String beans are my most favorites 😋 💜💜💜 their ginger sauce and house made chili oil are the bomb! 💣
Fast service/food when not busy, but wait staff do appear to be floaters, not really assigned to sections. Tastes like youd expect for the pricing, I had the beef cubes which were generally good, also fatty. The congee was good as well, my kids ate some, which is a good indication.
This place is clean, some foods are good while others are not so. Their answer Chow Fun and Beef Skewers are definitely very good, but their Hainan Chicken is not so. Was a bit under cook and ask them to reheat it a bit, they fry it instead. Was a bit disappointed. I like the place because they dont have a complex menu. Easy to order.
We like this place as opposed to the typical Chinese or Vietnamese noodle house. Food is good and service is 100% better than the typical joint. The restaurant is clean and modern and the staff is friendly.

Had take out last night. The food had so much MSG all 4 people of my party got sick. Still recovering today next day. All people reported feeling sick at night, night sweats, bizarre dreams. I wouldn’t not recommend or eat here ever again
The food at this place is amazing, FIVE STARS!However, the service is not that great, I believe theyre understaffed or they just dont care. We ordered two soups and an appetizer. The waitress forgot to input our appetizer and she didnt even bother to apologize when we brought it up to her.

Capital Noodle Bar is close by our work. When we have our Noodle craving, Capital Noodle Bar is one of just a handful that we pick from thats nearby our offices. They have great Capital Noodle bowl dry soups. Theyre terrific. But today I decided to try the Crispy Hainan Chicken with rice. It was amazing. It comes with 3 dipping sauces. One of the sauces is crushed ginger lightly salted. The flavor of the ginger sauce is amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant for their wonderful food and great ginger sauce. Its terrific.
Solid, fairly authentic. Had good soup based dishes, good chicken and rice style combos. If in mood for 75% authentic Chinesr w some taste of USA, was very good...this is not a US Chinese place, if that is what u want, btw. No mushu, or broccoli beef type of things...beef skewer was amazing!!
A little bit too sauce heavy and salty for my taste but a lot of my friends like eating here. For vegetarians, they cant substitute tofu for any of the meat in their noodle dishes. I believe you can ask for no meat though. I ended up eating their small plates instead.Please note that the sauteed green beans actually comes with shrimp.

I really wanted to like this place because its closer to me than the Chinese food restaurants in Irvine. Sadly, the experience was disappointing.We ordered the Capital Bowl, which wasnt as unique as it was made out to be. Instead the broth was a bit fishy and overly salted. The egg noodles were the best part with great texture and bounce, but that probably wasnt even made in house.We also ordered Hainan chicken rice dish. The chicken turned out slightly dry, but the ginger sauce and pickled vegetables were solid.We also ordered some dim sum items. The spicy wontons didnt have the right balance of meat stuffing and skin, plus the meat they did use was too dense (like a Shu Mai). The sauce lacked depth, needing more garlic, shallots, green onions. The Xiao Long Bao committed the biggest crime--it was not juicy at all. I looked forward to this the most.On top of all this, the prices are higher than most Chinese restaurants that serve the same food. Total bill came out to be $40 for 2 persons, something that is typically about $30.Service and ambiance were good, but not enough to save them from a 2-star review nor to get me to come back. I guess Ill still be going to Irvine.

The Beef and Seafood Hong Kong Style Chow Mein were very good. The Calamari was excellent. The food came out quickly and the waitresses were friendly and receptive.

Decent noodle shop featuring a varied menu of fusian noodle dishes served in a cozy modern space. If you love noodles of all sorts, than this place is worth a try. Enjoyed the pepper beef udon--flavourful, yet not greasy as most stir-fry dishes tend to be. The beef was tender & the noodles were lightly savory/buttery with a touch of peppery spice. My aunt let me try her HK style crispy noodles w/ beef & veggies & it was delish. They also serve good tea drinks & Vietnamese iced coffee.

I imagine capital noodle bar to be the love child of sam woo and p.f. changs. they shouldve named it sam changs, or even better, p.f. woo (lol).why? because the food is authentic enough to be sam woo (not like pick up stix / pei), but swanky enough to be p.f. changs (lovely modern posh decor).my coworker suggested capital noodle bar for lunch and at first i resisted but finally obliged and im glad i did because it was quite good! servers were all very attentive and nice. the decor is modern and nice. the food was nice (my hainan chicken was a little dry for my linking... but i doused it in ginger scallion sauce and it was all good).price, not so nice. my hainan chicken rice was $14 (inc. tip and tax)... but based on the overall experience, im putting this on my lunch to go spots :)

I asked for a Vietnamese coffee with no ice. And the waitress said back to our table with a message The manager said we can only give you have a cup. They lost a customer over half a cup of coffee
So, no one go here. It’s like buying a Ferrari and then you realise it’s a Prius. I literally asked for one Asian dish and ended up eating freakin’ tagliatelle bolognese.... with ketchup. I feel betrayed and violated. Also, it’s like being in Antartica it was so cold. 5 dollars for a lemonade that wasn’t even lemonade. I am going home, sitting with my cat Bubi and pondering the meaning of life. My depression is outta control and I just want to go to get donuts and relapse in my eating disorder.

They have some super tasty pork dumplings that are served with a tangy vinegar sauce. Bite the top off the dumpling, pour some vinegar and a little chile oil inside, and prepare to enjoy!

They served us raw chicken wings and very runny custard buns, then gaslighted us when we pointed out that they were funnier than they should be. They at least took the cost of the buns off our bill but there’s nothing about this restaurant I’d recommend. feel like I wasted money tonight

2023-07-16 00:42:26Delicious noodle dishes, and incredible wings! The servers were all friendly, but the meals were all brought out at different times and the appetizers after the main course.Over all a nice experience, but could have been even better if the service was a bit better!

2020-01-19 17:51:04Slightly upscale Chinese noodle restaurant, open space and modern decor, mixed in with farmhouse style tables and benches. The noodle soup kitchen is open, another kitchen in the back for other dishes. Courteous staff, fast services, portions are not super big, but decent. Slightly higher price than other place, being in Costa Mesa. Overall, pretty good. Food was flavorful enough, not super impressive.

2022-05-01 22:03:45The basil spaghetti and crispy chicken rice are both really good. I liked how the spaghetti was not too dry nor too watery. The wontons are good as well but just too big and too few. I rather go with smaller wontons but get a few more.
