Very disappointed!!!! China chef was a staple in our home. The food used to be so incredibly delicious and with great quality. Now with the new owners/chef the quality is significantly diminished. Its not the same China chef food that we used to get. We order all the same things except everything tastes extremely salty and way more spicy than it used to be and the quality is extremely poor.

Food is worth the price. You can make your food spicy with level 0 to 5. Customer service is really good too. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the Clovis area. They are doing take out only til further notice.

11/08/2023 - This place used to be good. Unfortunately it has recently been taken over by new owners. The food has changed a lot. The orange chicken should be called orange fried dough, vegetable pan fried noodles now come floating in some kind of sauce and partially cooked, wonton soup taste like old chicken and all the wontons are stuck together.Whatever you do, don’t call to try to explain you’re not happy with the food….. you will be met with a bad attitude that obviously doesn’t care.Good luck new Owners!!!!

I was looking for a quick Mongolian beef fix when I found China Chef. On live in the area and didnt realize this place was around the corner from us. I had the combo #7, Mongolian beef combo plate with a side of pot stickers. The food was delicious, fresh and best of all, week priced. China Chef! I will definitely be returning. Absolutely delicious!!! 😍

Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I have had. I travel to Fresno/Clovis monthly for work and like to support local establishments as much as possible. First time ordering from this venue. I had House Egg Foo Young and Potstickers. The Egg Foo Young was so over-cooked and dry I had trouble cutting it with a steak knife. As well, it had a peculiar taste, as if one, or more, of the ingredients was tainted. Conversely the Potstickers were under-cooked and gummy.

Food is amazing and portion sizes are great! Friendly staff and food always is hot and fresh. If you haven’t gone then do yourself a favor and try it! I definitely recommend the Mongolian beef chow mein and walnut shrimp😋

The China Chef is located at the Willow station but is tucked away on the side facing Nees Ave. Their shrimp chow mein is amazing and this place is always really clean. It’s a great place to go to escape the crowds while not having a fast food taste experience.

Very good food. Got the Mongolian beef chowmein and it was really good everything was just right. This was the first Chinese restaurant that I didnt not have to add soy sauce to the food. It was delicious. My dads meal came with friend shrimp and the only complaint he had was about the breading on it. I will be going back.

Just a message to the owners they need to start checking temperature on food as well as starting timers on food and definitely stay away from cross-contamination meaning do not cook chicken with pork with beef etc. I cannot handle pork so I never order anything with pork I did order some orange chicken and some shrimp prawns a couple of weeks ago and got severely sick from it. Im not going to bash them because overall their food is good, very very nice people but nowadays I know people are not too nice and they will be causing issues if they would have got as sick as I did. The food was either bad or they got pork juice or something on the chicken or prawns.

Large portions and price is good! Fried rice is a little dry. I had the combo 3, chow mein and fried rice, sweet sour pork. Overall a good experience for first time. Will be back and recommending. This place is take out only no delivery or dine in. Glad the website had a clear menu and phone ordering for take out was quick!

The staff are super fast and the food hits the spot perfectly as a guilty indulgence. Greasy spoons move over for this flavor packed greasy Chinese food. After adding more veggies to the food I was able to make two meals with guilt included on both!

I never would’ve noticed this little place, but my son kept recommending it so I finally agreed to try it. I must say, I was very impressed with both the prices and flavors.. dumplings were just scrumptious, and I got the vegetable chow mein for myself too... delicious. Just the most perfect texture and flavoring on the noodles and the vegetables. Please everyone give this restaurant a try, they are excellent and I hope they stay around for years to come.

Super yummy Chinese food! I ordered the #3 Combo with sweet and sour pork and it was delicious, they have nice big chunks of pork and it was nice and crispy where the sauce hadnt got to it yet (this is the best to me, Im not a huge fan of soggy sweet and your pork) and I really enjoyed the fried rice and pork chow mien...I highly recommend ordering some almond cookies for dessert, they were 4 for $1 and taste like they were baked fresh there 👍🙂 the girls at the register were also very nice!

Got the lunch special and the vegetables wernt cooked all the way. Asked for a 4 spicy an wasnt spicy at all. Still surprised you can not sit an eat inside since covid has been done. They do not give you soup any longer with the lunch special so Im sure this helps them cut costs. I will not be back until you can dine in again.

We went to China Chef as a family for the holidays oh, there was eight of us and we were easily accommodated. Service was friendly and prompt all through the meal. We had two vegans with us and they had lots of choices which they enjoyed. We ordered the family dinner A which has many things on it and everything was very tasty. Pork chow mein, pork fried rice, sesame chicken, orange chicken, orange chicken, sweet and sour pork broccoli beef and egg rolls everything was delicious. Prices were definitely low, I would definitely return again.

We waited 40 minutes for our food for a dine in. There were several people that came and went while we sat there, presumably phone orders. Apparently their priority was to prepare any and all phone orders first, dine in can wait. We ended up having to take our food to go. They didnt seem to care how their poor service impacted us. No apology, no discount, no acknowledgement.The chow mein and rice on my combo plate were simply not good. Gave each about 5 bites before I decided I just couldnt eat it, and my sweet & sour pork wasnt very tasty either, but I ate it. My wifes pan fried noodles were ok.Poor to mediocre food and absolutely terrible service. These two things combined will keep me from giving this place another try.

The Pork Chow Fun dish is my favorite. The noodles are always delicious and the pork is lean. The Fish with Assorted Vegetables dish is also excellent. The vegetables are fresh and perfectly cooked with just the right flavor and seasoning. The fish is tender and mild. They always serve generous proportions and the people are very friendly. We enjoy China Chef!

First time at this place and so far soooooo good. I had an order of Mongolian Beef, definitely in my top 5. I had the po po plater for appetizer. This is the best Chinese delivery food in Clovis, and hands down the best pork fried rice Ive ever had. If you order from here, get the fried rice. Ordering is easy and everything always arrives fresh and hot, not to mention theyre SUPER good about special orders. Im allergic to fish so when fish sauce is in stuff, I get very queasy, and theyre very accommodating. On their spicy dishes, you can also request a level of heat. We usually go with 4 out of 5. If you cant decide and want a little of everything, the Hong Kong Noodles are awesome.

This place and their food just didnt cut it for me, so i had to cut them ( off of my list of decent Chinese food). I really was expecting this place to be great, because of the really nice reviews and the number of stars that this place has been given. I got the sweet and sour pork combo plate with chow mein and what was supposed to be fried rice. Both the chow mein and fried rice were bland and lacked flavor. The fried rice wasnt even fried, it appeared and tasted like it was just white rice covered with soy sauce🤢; and the chow mein were just these fat, oversized noodles with a few pieces of cabbage tossed in soy sauce, no authenticity in the the flavor what so ever, Panda Express chow mein tastes better in my opinion👎🏽. I did order my food to go, from the time I placed the order until I picked it up was 10 min. not bad on wait time, so by the time I got home my sweet and sour pork was soggy (could be due to condensation), but the taste itself was not satisfying, lots of fatty parts on each piece of pork and it basically was like eating fat, covered in sweet red sauce, nothing flavorful about it. I paid $10.80 for this combo plate, and couldnt even continue to eat, prices are good, but i guess you get what you pay for! Parking was okay in the area😏. Photos of the combo plate on yelp.

I have always eaten at another local Chinese restaraunt for the last 20 years and decided to give this place a try a few months ago for the first time. The food is excellent, the pork is tender and juicy (not dried out like some other places) and their chow mein is delicious. The staff is very friendly and prompt, whether you dine in or grab a take out order.

Clean and nice restaurant. Very good for a quick Chinese lunch or dinner. Not really crowded on my visit but to me doesnt matter when the food is delicious. A little bit hard to find because it is on the side of a commercial lot and its sign is hidden by a tree. It was a fine discovering.Recommend.

I cant believe they overcharged my credit card. I called them to ask for an explanation on why did they overcharge my credit card and she said she didnt have the receipts with her. She asked for my name and number and she would call me back. Well never got the call back with the explanation. I cant believe they would treat their customers like that.

This place i spent a lot of time with the boss. She was very excited til her foolish daughter say so many things she knows nothing about.Now aunty has no trust.. Such a shame.She is having problems with hard water, both in kitchen and bathroom.build up on the tables, getting the floor clean. Lots of grease in kitchen. Ill see her again, she really needs some citrus....i went back and she still dont trust..
