We did a double take when driving by but we are very glad we came in! We ordered the chow fun noodles, the honey walnut shrimp and the Mu Shu wraps. Eating here was such a wonderful find for us and we will stop by again when traveling through!!
Had the lemon chicken my mom had the senior meal both were really good. As they say you cannot judge a book by its cover this place makes some pretty amazing Chinese food!
The food we got tonight from this restaurant was very bad. Taste burnt! Like it had been sitting all day just to be reheated. And to top it off, the guy or owner was very rude!! Will never eat there again!!
I’ve never reviewed a restaurant before but this place had the best Chinese food I’ve ever had! We had the sweet and sour chicken and Mongolian beef, and I couldn’t decide which was better. They were so flavorful. We were just visiting the area otherwise this would be my go to place to get Chinese food!

The food and service is soo good. Not a ton of seating but enough for our group of 8. Most people do take out. They have a great website for ordering online.
The service was quick and friendly. The food was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. The sushi was fresh, flavorful and we LOVED the flame broil top on one of the rolls we got (dynamite I BELIVE). We stopped here for lunch before a long trip back home to Oregon. 10/10 would come again.
Had to go back in to get something they forgot, and then I get home to realize they also forgot our egg rolls. The dumplings we did get were terrible. Tasted like they were old and reheated or something. Was excited to get takeout and for 70 dollars i expected much more. Sorry, but I wont be coming back.
As for an Asian person their food was not as good as I have expected base off their menu but if your looking for American Chinese style food than you’ll probably enjoy it.

Great authentic made to order fresh Chinese food. I had Mongolian beef, and it was very good. The Hunan Chicken was also a great fish. The sushi 🍣 options are also great. The owners are very attentive, and the service is fast. We will eat here next time we pass through Red Bluff
Delicious! The food was flavorful. I got the Hunan shrimp plate with sweet and sour pork. We also ordered pork buns. Everything was really great. Perfect amount of spice too, so my 7 year old could enjoy it with us.

The waitress was inpatient and the cook was rude! The food I could have found better at a truck stop every thing was either over cooked or undercooked. The only thing that was sub par decent was the California rolls and Salmon Sushi.

This restraint is by far the best Chinese food in town!! They are very welcoming and usually very quick. They are very busy with take out and dine in alike, and the owners are friendly. We particularly like their soups and sushi! I havent had sushi this good in chico or redding.My 5 year old son loves the avocado rolls and they always put extra avocado in for him.I highly recommend the China Doll for authentic and delicious food.
I really like this place. Everything Ive had is pretty good, and their wonton soup is outstanding. My current favorite dish there is the Salt & Pepper Pork: so crispy, spicy enough to kick yet still tame enough to dip some of the bites in hot mustard, and no sauce making your leftovers all soggy and swollen.On top of all that, they serve huge portions. I get an extra meal out of their lunch menu, and 2 extra meals from their main entree selections. Owners are very accommodating as well.Still nothing but good things to report.
Not much to say about a dine in restaurant in a converted Taco Bell building. I dont think the staff cares if we were there or not. The food was passable, but not inspiring, though I wasnt expecting much.
My husband and I love sushi! Well its very hard to find good sushi. Gone to Redding, Chico and Woodland. This sushi is the best. Keep in mind it also serves soup,so much food available!¡!

When I cant drive to Redding or chico, Im very happy to have the China Doll restaurant to go to. They serve both Chinese and Japanese food and its delicious.
Extraordinary customer service. Cup was still half full when they came to refill it twice. The third time I declined. Sushi is always made fresh and is the best in town. The food was cooked to perfection. Tasty and definitely not oily. Gotta try it at least once, you wont regret it.
Yummy. Second time eating there. Yes the fried rice was delicious . and think I ordered the chicken. Which was also yummy. The fact that I had never been there before brightened my experience a lot. The restaurant was enjoyable and I was able to find comfortable table . I think the diet soda was really good. And Id like to come back on a special occasion. Thank you.

I come here all the time and Ive never been disappointed. Their sushi is surprisingly good to find in such a small town, the servers are nice and quick to help and the salt and pepper squid is something everyone needs to try.
Very quick serving. We were hungry when we arrived and when we were done we had enough to have another meal. Huge portion sizes. I am vegetarian so when I requested no fish sauce they were happy to do so and the food still was so tasty. I wish they were close by and not 2.5 hrs away. We found them by chance when we were driving back home from a trip .

No this place is not good to me at all. I can not believe the prices he charged me like 5 dollars for 2 and I mean literally 2 spring rolls that were absolutely disgusting. We paid darn near 65 dollars for 3 meals that is ridiculous and they started talking in their Chinese language I know they were talking about us how rude. Not going here again not my kind of place and I promise rip me off and over charge me I do know I just paid it but I will let it be known in my review because I did not want to disrespect you but shame on you.
Best well-kept Secret in Red Bluff! When you talk about quality Chinese authentic food you have to talk about this place! Customer service is amazing and the food impresses and surprises me every time. The menu is so diverse I try and order something different every single time I go there. Ive never disappointed. If you like Chinese food I highly recommend you try this place out!
A little out of the way, this locally owned restaurant is truly a gem. Delicious, freshly prepared food...gigantic portions...a real value for the reasonable price. Too bad we were only passing through...if we lived closer we would definitely be regular customers. Friendly, helpful service elevated our experience. Hope we have the opportunity to visit again some time soon!
The staff was incredibly friendly and chatted with us while we waited for our to go order. The woman behind the counter also let my son have a fortune cookie while we hung out. Plus the food was absolutely delicious! I got their beef and broccoli and my fiance got their pork and we both loved it.
Glad this place came about. More people should know about them. Their sushi is fresh and made right. Prices are reasonable enough to go as often as I want. They even do custom stuff if you ask them. Only place I’ll eat sushi in red bluff.
Before my lunch break today I heard from a customer at work that this place was the best. Being still new to the area I haven’t explored all the restaurants in town. So I ordered the orange tofu to go, specifically indicating no meat as I’m vegetarian.Got some cream cheese wantons too.I ate the wantons in the parking lot as I was super hungry. They were delicious! yes, I ate all 10 of them and am not sorry!I didn’t look at the orange tofu until I got to work.I opened the box and I was shocked and dismayed. There were meat strips on my tofu. I called the restaurant and complained. The gentleman that answered the phone explained that they were orange peel pieces. These pieces did not look like orange peels. I picked one dark strip up, pulled it apart and it shred just like meat so I insisted it was meat.They offered to drive a new meal over to my work as I could not leave to return the food. Talk about going above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.When the guy gets there with my new food, there were these ‘meat’ strips on it too!Then the guy tells me they’re dehydrated orange peels.Turns out, dehydrated orange peel when rehydrated is darker and shreds apart like overcooked beef. Learned something new today.So after pulling my foot out of my mouth I had a taste of this dubiously meatless orange tofu. WOW! It was amazing! You tofu eaters know what I mean when I say this was not rubber tofu. It had lots of garlic and was saucy with a bit of a spicy kick. And yes, the ‘meat’ strips were orange peels. My apologies to the China Doll chef.I used to go to another restaurant in town for orange tofu. Good bye other restaurant, good bye forever.
I had very high hopes walking into this place after reading the reviews .But it was the complete opposite, rice and chowmein had absolutely NO FLAVOR, I got a simple orange chicken, and it was horrible, you could smell the dirty oil they fried it in . I took a bite and couldn’t even swallow it .Maybe it was a bad day for them but it definitely was NOT like the reviews say . I walked out very unsatisfied .

China Doll had great food however it is not now. In February I ordered food for takeout and I didnt get what I ordered. It took it back and after a long conversation and they remade it. Still wasnt what I ordered.On April 24 2020 I gave them the benefit of the doubt I did takeout again, I ordered General chicken, along with sweet&pork for additional 1.00. I get home and all I had was chow main and sweet and pork. With this order,chicken fried rice should have come with it. No fried rice!!!! I call the restuarant and the young man said the general chicken was there. He said we mix it all together. Well that was not true. He said he would give my money back....I told him that I lived to far away. I will not go back again, it was terrible.
The food is actually good but I ordered togo and asked for 3 extra sides of sweet n sour sauce.When I got there I grabbed the bag and I said are there sweet-and-sour sauce in there? And she said yes I put them in there. I then open the bag right in front of her. Then she realize that I caught her lying to me and she gave me one. I said I asked for three I’ll pay for them if I need to. Then she gave me one more. Mind you she didn’t forget the dirty looks. I get to my hotel and there’s no napkins or plastic ware. Not a big deal but the service was just horrible.
We ordered multiple sushi rolls and a lunch special combo. Everything was good. The sushi rolls are small, but the yellow fin and Philadelphia roll were the best.
Food, price, service and quantity were all good. There are 2 separate parking lots. Not a big deal, but just something to aware of.
China Doll is fantastic! Great seasoning and fresh veggies. Found the @7 months ago and have not been disappointed. Now with sushi also. Great owners, very friendly and personable. The Szechuan Beef is excellent.

Expensive for the quality of food. I was very disappointed in the taste of the food. Everything seemed freezer burned or poor quality. Im usually very generous with my rating but I just couldnt do it this time. I thought it might be a diamond in the rough but it was just pretty disappointing. Im not one to judge a places food by how it looks.

They now serve a great variety of sushi as well as a full chinese menu! Perfect atmosphere, especially if you want a lovely quiet evening with your family or date night with your spouse.
Our family really enjoys this restaurant ❣ The couple that is always working there is super sweet. They check on you with a smile and are very quick to deliver DELICIOUS food! Since Covid has happened they will give you your food to go 😭 but I wish we could dine in. In the short amount of time the County was allowed to open their restaurants this was the place we went. Got Mongolian beef dinner combo, garlic broccoli, and pan fried pot stickers. Solid Chinese restaurant. I was very pleasantly surprised considering it was the only Chinese restaurant in town that I could see in the map.

Great food. Combo plate prices are pretty good, huge portions. A la carte items are a little pricey. Took a little bit longer than I had expected to get food to go but it was worth it.
My daughter and I shared an order of chicken fried rice this past Saturday and were stricken with horrible food poisoning. She is 18 weeks pregnant and had to go to the ER due to dehydration. For the cost of one meal she is out the costs of an ER visit and we both had to endure horrible vomiting for over 12 hours. I am sure this isnt common but it was a horrible thing to have to go through.
My family loves this place. The food is terrific. The owner is usually there but even when she isnt there her staff is very attentive. The icing on the cake is the price. Very reasonable.

Never let the waitress or hostess choose for you because she will not give you the best deal of the house no matter how loyal of a customer you are! I was rushed into ordering as I studied the menu I was trying to ge tthe best deal I could and get what my roommate wanted as well since he was paying for it. As far as quality it is better than most take out Chinese restaurants/.. However you definitely get more for your money by dining in. It is better to order from the lunch menu rather than dinner as far as expense goes. Next time I will order for myself and get the most food for the best price. This is the first time I have disappointed in the China DOll . I really did not understand what I was ordering because the hostess suggested a combo plate I thought and my roommate thought there would be more food for the price he paid. I still believe something else should have come with it as well ..........
It tasted just like my favorite Chinese restaurant. I will go there when I got to redbluff. The food is amazing. I love the waving cats. (There was a guy across the street yelling at nothing holding out his water bottle saying, YOU STUPID CHIMMYCHONGA! TAKE MY WATER BOTTLE! YOU CRAZY LOON, YOU NEED TO DRINK WATER SO U DONT GET DEHYDRATED! I was laughing histariclly!)

We ordered mongolian beef and it was unetable. Im used to the bepprrs that you can pull out but these were crushed. There were crushed pepper seeds coating the bottom. This could have killed someone. All the food was thrown out. Service was good, not the food.

The egg flower soup is delicious. Chow mein...ehh...Sweet and sour pork good. Pork potstickers ew. However...Had to get up ask the waitress for something to drink...awkward. But even MORE awkward, i was sitting eating, gazing out the window and noticed the chef come out of the kitchen, still wearing her apron...with a dog on a leash that came out with her! I could only think that dog has been back there the whole time next to my kung pao shrimp!??? GROSS. The health department might not approve.
I am from the bay area originally, lived all over this state and traveled a lot with my prior job eating Chinese food all over the country. I was excited when they opened the best of the north state! Great Job China Doll!

Though the food came out quickly I was just pointed in the equality and the price what they quoted me and what they charge me was way different I was there for an hour and in that time three sets of customers left because they couldnt get waited on and its only a six table place so no I would not recommend this if you wanted a really good meal at a reasonable price with good service but I would recommend it if you want mediocre food with mediocre service in a restaurant thats media overly clean

We were exhausted and ready to eat a bunch of delicious food, and China Doll didn’t disappoint. We ordered the dinner combination plates; we got spicy garlic chicken, sweet and sour shrimp, and beef & broccoli. Everything was hot and seasoned properly. I highly recommend this place!

2023-10-07 23:10:25My wife and I were passing through the town and went for lunch, we did not realize the restaurant was not open until 12 on Saturday. We got there around 11:15. Ade was so considerate to let us in. We are originally from China and vegetarian. We were so surprised by their separate vegetarian section with many classic dishes cooked with imitation meat choice. We ordered Mongolian imitation beef, general imitation chicken among others, the dishes were well seasoned and portion was great. Ade told us he gets all the vegan imitation meat supplies from L.A. I highly recommend this place for vegans and vegetarians. We will for sure come back next time passing through Red Bluff.

2023-10-11 04:04:00I cant tell much about the atmosphere at this restaurant, because I ate my dinner at a hotel room. But the food was above and beyond. I ordered wor won ton soup and salmon rolls and hot salmon rolls to take out. The rolls were good and the soup was very very delicious, like 5++ delicious. Im excited to try their Mongolian beef and other soups next time Ill be in Red Bluff.

You would never know how wonderful it is from the outside, and we are so glad that we took the chance. 💖 It is a great family owned restaurant. The food is delicious, the service was quick and friendly, the restaurant was clean and nice, and we didnt have to break the bank for a ton of food. Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced.Now.. can I just tell you... BEST wonton soup that I have ever had in my life! 😋😋😍😍 It was so full of yummy wontons, meat, and veggies, and it was in a huge bowl! It took us 3 days to eat it all! 💖💖 I cant wait to get back and have it again.. with some scrumptuous pork buns on the side!! Go visit them today! 😍😍

2023-10-21 01:30:10Honestly theyve gone down hill. Not happy with my sweet and sour pork being shoved under noodles and sauce when I asked for it on the side. You out the sauce on the side but not the actual pork. So pork is soggy in another juice from broccoliI cant even order the single fried rice noodles cause they make them clumpy

2023-09-13 09:10:20Better than home-made weeknight food, I have been smiling after every time getting food here. Need more Veggie options than broccoli, chop suey (highly recommended), and green beans. Service : quickly functional for dine in convenience, no whole grain rice, so take home and mix with legumes or rice.
