Food is just ok. All dishes have too much corn starch which makes the gravy thick but tasteless. I have ordered schezwan chicken, stir fry string beans and China clay pot chicken with rice. Foods are pricey here. Service is pretty fast. I was expecting the clay pot chicken will come in real clay pot but it came in a hot metal bowl. Schezwan chicken supposed to be spicy but it was bland. Staff is very nice and friendly. Most probably I won’t recommend this restaurant.

I really like this place and the prices are reasonable. I like the orange chicken and the friend rice. The staff is always friendly. I feel like I know them, since Im here all the time. Ive tried a few other things on their menu. the schezwan chicken is a close second in my book. But you cant really go wrong, there are so many tasty items. Im also a big fan of their pot stickers. Put them on your list, you cant go wrong.

China King is a hidden gem in the shopping center that I had been passing by for years. I finally had the chance to dine there for a work lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. I ordered the Lunch Special Beef Kung Pao which was spicy and full of flavor. The lunch specials are a great value and I cant wait to go back and try more dishes. The restaurant may be small, but the service was friendly and attentive. If youre in the area and looking for some tasty Chinese food, China King is definitely worth a try!

Very nice local restaurant with good food. I had the clay pot chicken that was delicious. My son had chicken wings which he said was good. All staff were very friendly. Dumplings were also very good.

We love China King. It is our go to family restaurant in Goleta. The service is always wonderful. Such lovely people. The restaurant is always clean. The food is always fresh and always delicious. I believe there is not one item on the menu that you wouldn’t love, it’s all so delicious. Seriously the best Chinese food in Santa Barbara County.

Local Chinese food restaurant serving up traditional favorites with custom flair. This is my go-to spot for Chinese food in Goleta. Ive tried a wide variety of entrees on the menu and have never been disappointed. I recommend the Shanghai Steamed Dumplings.

Very good food with a large selection and resonably priced. Open 6 days a week, closed on Monday, open 11a to 9p every other day. Over 40 lunch specials each day. Order by phone and have it delivered if your total is a minimum of $25. Located near Zodos bowling with lots of parking.

China King is consistently average Chinese food. We have had a hard time finding good Chinese in Santa Barbara and Goleta. We return to CK because it is consistent, the service is good enough and we have never had a bad meal. Its a nice little dining room and they are good for take-out. Its fine.

I was actually pleasantly surprised, this place is quality. Good flavour. Ive been to every Chinese restaurant in SB and this one is the best by a long shot. No buffet, it seems like they have decent quality food. Which goes a long way for a chinese restaurant. Generally I couldnt tell you if its chicken or cat. But here I definitely know its cat. Naw Im kidding 😂 definitely chicken.

Lunch Specials are affordable and are a nice size. Very flavorful meal. I especially like the bean/vegetable soup. Small and cozy. Service was great even though it took the waiter a while to take our order. Seems like they are still trying get the flow of things since its a fairly new restaurant. The best thing is that they deliver with a minimum purchase of $25! I highly recommend it.

Really really really great food, but the food takes so long. i would understand if they gave a proper estimate to how long the food would take, no matter the time. but, instead they say it’ll be an hour, and when i get there they say it’ll be another hour on top of that. just be upfront and say it’ll take two hours, i don’t want to have to drive to town and then sit in my car just because they couldn’t tell me the truth. still really great food. if you don’t mind the wait, i’d suggest going here, but wait an extra 30 minutes on the time they say it’ll be ready

We ordered three entrees - triple delight fried rice, pineapple fried rice, chicken chow mein - and some apps - egg rolls, fried wonton. The apps were just ok but all three entrees were super bland and severely lacking. All of us who shared the food agreed that Panda Express (chain, not really chinese) makes far better food....so Im beginning to wonder if I just got a bad batch somehow? Im surprised that my experience is so different than most of the reviews....

I heard theyve changed their owner since earlier this year (2021). I think this is the best Chinese restaurant so far I have been visited in the whole Goleta/SB area. They offer a variety of Chinese cuisine. I will definitely come back again and bring my friends here.

Do not order online. We placed our order online through their website for delivery and it said it would an hour, which is fine, what we expect. Then at after an 1 hour 10 minutes they called and said they got busy and didnt see our order come through. Ummm, okay?! She ask me if we still want them to make the order? Speechless! I told her, yes I would like the food I paid for. So after 2 hours from when we placed our order we finally received our food.I like this place and the people that work there but this was inexcusable. You go through all the effort to create an online ordering system to go around GrubHub but you cant execute it. Weve eaten here and gotten take many times but this was the last time.

Just about everything was unacceptably disappointing. Not all awful but it was only actually good once I recooked, re-seasoned, and put an egg in it. While the chow mein, and general Tso’s chicken were not truly disgusting on their own, the same can’t be said for the “fried rice”, which it truly does not qualify as. The word “fried” implies that it has been pan-fried and that there is something else it has been fried with. This rice was mushy, NOT fried, still clumped together, and just inexplicably brown for some reason. There was definitely not soy sauce in it because it was as bland as could be, and the fact that it was so bland made the brownness of the rice very concerning. Overall I was extremely disappointed and mad at myself for spending over $50 at such a place.

Nothing special. Service was prompt, but we were the only people in the restaurant at that time. I ordered cashew chicken and thats exactly what I got - chicken and cashews, no vegetables. My husband ordered chow mein and said that it was okay. I didnt eat my food as it didnt look very appealing to me. We took it home and my husband ate it later and said, again, that it was okay but not great. Very disappointing after hearing so many good comments, but it may just not be what we are used to. Probably wont return.

The food was good but the service was awful. We were the only people eating in the restaurant (with exception of a couple of to go orders)- yet it took ages for the owner to take our order and even longer for them to bring the check. We had the honey walnut shrimp - the oil tasted a little “old”. The moo shoo chicken was very nice. I often find one gets poor service when restaurants are not busy. When its full the staff always seem more focused and attentive.

I have to say so far the best Chinese Ive had in Santa Barbara area. What I love: Its not drowning in a sea of sauce. Just the right amount to coat the food. Most Chinese food restaurants fail miserably on this one. The food is good. Only one suggestion. A little more veggies please. Green onions in the fried rice would make it rock. Same with the other dishes. Adding some veggies would take it from four to five stars. All in all. Ill go back again. The others so far have been disgusting. This place rates return visits.

Service is quite litterally THE WORST ANYWHERE! 4 out of 5 times I have ordered they have confirmed my order over the phone, telling me to arrive in 15 minutes to pick up my order, only to have them pull my order from the wait check stack and submit it to the kitchen 20 minutes after I get there. The younger staff are rude. I dont know ANY chinese resteraunt where rice does not come with an entree. The teenage waiter ARGUED AND INSULTED a dine in customer who had the temerity to ask for the rice she was promised ON THE MENU. One of their delivery boys has a fake handicap placard that he uses to park in front of the resteraunt. Overall, I would give them 0 stars if the fokd wasnt soooo good! I am beginning to rethink whether or not the lack of service is worth the margin of food superiority.

The food was bland. sweet&sour chicken had no flavor and nothing was seasoned, the sauce tasted thinned out and watery. Chow mein also bland and was dry. Only thing ok was the egg rolls.
