Great service and delicious food. Ive been going here for few a years now for lunch and the Spicy tofu is my go to. Phil always hooks it up for me. I put all my co-workers on to this spot. Im vegan but all the food look and smells so good! Whatever is in the new spicy sauce... so BOMB!

Great hidden spot. The staff is really friendly and the prices are reasonable. The portions are decent, not small but not too big either. Lots of flavor and decent quality food. I really like the small town feeling that it gives. Would definitely come back.

I’m new to the state of Cali and specifically Long Beach/Los Angeles area. I the pictures are what made me try this place out and the pictures didn’t fall short. The orange chicken is sooo soo good. The beef of the beef and broccoli and the broccoli is soo soo good. Even the fried rice was great. And the price they out all this food on your container for is great too. I would come back here again and again. The staff girl that did my order was nice and kind too. This will be my go to Chinese food spot for the area.

Theyre a steam table chinese food joint that has very good prices, and tasty food. Easily enough for 2 meals if you order a 2 item managers specoial. Some decent vegan options available. Cook to order also available if you want to wait (like soups, meat chowmein and meat fried rice, or shrimp dishes). No AC in dining room, but they have recently installed a fan.

On the basis of the large number of five star reviews I decided to try the Chinese Gourmet. I must disagree with these people. Only because the food was not absolutely terrible I rated this place two stars. I had the beef and broccoli. The beef was tasteless and the broccoli was limp and soggy. I also had chicken chow mien. Tasteless and very greasy. Lastly, I had the fried rice. So-so, at best. The experience was like wanting a gourmet hamburger and winding up at Mickey Ds. All-in-all, a big disappointment.

I was recommended by a Coworker...I read the reviews and went . IM BIG on customer and food taste. Phil customer was Perefct. He wasnt trying to rush me. Phil let me sample there Items which is important because it helps you decied what you want especially if its your 1st time.... I will come back 💯.

Better experience this time around, and a much friendlier server. Tried the popcorn chicken, I think it will be a new favorite. Portion sizes are smaller compared to other Chinese food places but it was perfect for me. I also had the jalapeno chicken. Everything was really good.

I generally dont order take-out. In the past I have made my selections in person, but the quality and kind service is exactly the same! Their food is consistently good and you always, always have more food than you can possibly consume in one seating. If you enjoy gourmet Chinese food, you will be delighted with all of the choices, quality ingredients and savory taste! The only thing greater is the wonderful customer service! You must treat yourself well and enjoy some of this gourmet food!

Used to be 5 stars but the Food quality went down, got some wontons, they used too much wrapping paper, they were over cooked on the outside raw on the inside. Way too chewy. They changed the recipe for the spicy tofu and it is not good, will be looking for a new spot after years of going.

Real good food considering they dont have my 3 favorites which are Egg Foo Young, Shrimp and Lobster Sauce or Kung Pao Shrimp. The bbq pork is great and I really liked the beef and broccoli. The rice and lo mein cooked well also. Its a great clean place to go with great prices.

We discovered this place while our baby was in the NICU at LB Memorial. Were so glad we did because the food is always great and fresh. There were multiple times when our food was cooked fresh and we just had to wait a little longer but we didnt mind the wait. Also the service was always great.

I am a vegetarian and it appeared that tofu was the only vegetarian entree. However, it was absolutely incredible! Cheap, huge portion (dinner for 2, easily) with tangy gravy and helpings of lo mein and egg fried rice on the side. For less than $8, or $8.65 with a coke and egg roll. A great place to support during these tough times!

Ive never been disappointed when I come here. Service is good and food is decent and its very economical. About $8 for a lunch special including chow mein, fried rice, one entree and small soup or vegetable egg roll. Perfect for a quick lunch trip.There are the usual Chinese food suspects from Orange chicken, broccoli beef to a new hot a spicy seafood soup. (I have yet to try). Food here doesnt have the oily residue that some other fast Chinese food places do.Owners are great. Very nice and pleasant all the time. Parking is tight due to the other stores.If youre in the area and feeling some quick Chinese food Chinese Gourmet is your spot.

Food is great, affordable, and dishes are rotated out daily. Some days you can have popcorn chicken as a side or have spicy tofu. Really just depends and it allows variety. New owner is great. Recently renovated still awesome.

Chinese Gourmet was delicious. I got the happy hour special; chow mein & rice with jalapeno chicken. I recommend the jalapeno chicken. Its spicy. Also, Phil was very nice and very humble which was much appreciated.

I liked that the guy asked me when I got the bbq pork if I wanted fatty or lean peices. I said fatty and it was melty. The jalapeño chicken was very good. Generally the guy there was very friendly and accommodating

I have walked in and gave me shrimp fried rice for two items when I got home and I open my tray... I had order shrimp fried rice, barbecue pork and orange chicken.... what got me upset is that barbecue pork had nothing but fattening on the meat there was more fattening them meat, and orange chicken was okay but they serve you like theyre going about to have that meal wasnt satisfied with my food... I will never go back to this restaurant again!
