This place has amazing poke! So fresh! I’ve been several times and have not been disappointed once. The flavor is great and it’s always incredibly fresh. Katie is great, friendly, and very, very sweet. Stop by and try it out if you’re in the area!

I LOVE poke - and I think THIS was the BEST POKE BOWL I’ve ever had!! (Which is why I visited Chowa Bowl TWO DAYS IN A ROW!) Katie, the owner, was SO friendly to us (and each customer was greeted with an equally warm welcome!). The flavor, local sourcing of many ingredients (with 5 or 6 local farms listed near their menu), sauces, and overall presentation of the bowl was an absolute home run!!! Filet Mignon Bulgogi Bowl was well....ridiculously delicious! It was so great to find a place like this in our area. The diversity and quality of food around here in my experience is under par. This place was such a treat. It looked great and tasted even better. The meat was tender and seasoned well, the rice was warm and plentiful. The pickled red sweet onions were so good as was the Kimchi which I enjoyed immensely. Everything worked so well together. The owner whose name escapes me at the moment was a sweetheart. It was a great experience and I cant wait to take my wife. They do not disappoint Id encourage everyone to go taste their food you wont regret it.
We didn’t specifically set out to eat here, but we are sure glad this is where we ended up. The Bay Burrata salad was absolutely divine! Sweet and tangy with the smoothness of the cheese mixed in with all the fresh veggies and the grilled beets made for a party in my mouth. And the Okie Poke bowl was so much more than expected. Everything was so very fresh and the flavors were sweet and spicy in just the right amounts. Not your typical poke bowl. The service was quick and so very friendly. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we are in town.
This is a delicious lil gem you must try! I am completely gluten free & 1 thing I really miss is the ease of ordering Asian foods out, but there is gluten in regular soy sauce. Ive dreamed of a place to get good stir fry or ramen & even marinated poke...gf friends this is the place! You can even have the ramen here w/a simple sub of forbidden rice ramen noodles in place of the regular noodle & everything else is made w/tamari & regular gluten lovers you wont even notice the difference. Im taking a vegan friend here today & Ive been dreaming of it since I last went. Please support, everything is incredible!
This place is so damn good! I love the ramen on a cloudy day and the poke bowl on sunny days. Washed down with the best Arnold Palmer Ive ever had. They have a vegan option for my wife. Katie and the staff are so friendly. This place is a local favorite for sure! Check it out, you will not be disappointed.

Such good food! My wife got the beef bulgogi and was RAVING about it so I had to try it, she was right, it was great. I got the bowl with Ahi, it was superb. Such great flavors! The owner is such a nice woman. If you are looking for a healthy interesting alternative to the standard tourist fare you get at the embarcadero just try it.

Wonderful restaurant! Food was amazing and Katie the owner/ chef/ operator made us feel so welcome and was interesting to talk to. Ask her about her story!! We ate there twice. Once on the way up the hwy 1, and once on our way back south. Highly, highly recommended and we will eat there again on our next visit to Morro bay.
The ramen was really good! We had miso ramen with tofu and added avocado and a shoyu ramen with pork belly. 🍜 The flavor is really good. Only outdoor sitting available, but the weather in Morro Bay is perfect for ramen 😬

Top notch food in relaxed atmosphere. Many dishes are excellent but their sweet pickled vegetables put the ramen, poke and other dishes over the top.
Friendly staff, and quick take out.But the ordered Bowles were OKish … the ingredients were good, but the Miso-Ramen was kinda strange, had nothing to do with a normal Ramen broth or a Miso soup.If you are into that taste please choose something else 🙈

A symphony of flavors! We love it. We live in town. Its a great place to go for a really fresh and flavorful meal. We love the poke bowl, the bay burrata salad, the veggie salad and Rice bowl. Add the tofu, trust me its super delicious. Or tuna, which is always the perfect texture and flavor. The pickled veggies and sauces/dressings really make it. The beets are the best too . Katie the owner is really friendly. She deserves to have a successful business because she can definitely come up with some amazing flavors and works really hard at it. You will be pleasantly surprised when you eat here.

Great options to build your own bowel for vegans. Everything was flavorful, ingredients were fresh and bright, and the outdoor patio was peaceful. Definitely coming back.

Delicious, fresh food! The Okey Pokey is my favorite with greens and rice, and my familys is the ramen. We also love to add some skewers! The owner is awesome as well. I definitely recommend this place as the best ramen and poke around.
Finally got around to trying this place and Im sorry I waited so long! My husband and I both had the oke poke bowl and it was delicious! So fresh and the flavors were awesome. We also had the chicken skewers which were delicious as well. Cant wait to go back and try the other dishes. So stoked to have this place in Morro Bay!

This place is bomb! I am a big fan of soup and the Ramen fed my soul. The owner personally took my order and checked on me after her employee dropped my food at the table. I will definitely be back. The customer service I saw while I ate my food was top notch. Looking forward to bringing my family during the coming holidays while they visit.
Wanted to try this place for months and finally went there for dinner, ordered a poke bowl that we had been wanting to try for months. They brought out a vegetarian bowl and when we told them we ordered a poke bowl they seemed very annoyed. Then had to wait while they prepared the correct dish for us, while waiting we had to listen to them talk bad about us the whole time and how we were confused and had ordered the wrong thing. If you’re going to talk bad about customers maybe you should realize that the people can hear you outside. Don’t worry we won’t come back, situation was humiliating enough.

I ordered the pork belly ramen. (Cant remember how to spell the name of it). The pork belly had a smoked flavor with a char crust on parts of it which was delicious. The soft-boiled egg was perfect and I really enjoyed the broth. The only thing left in my bowl was one slice of a Thai chili, lolSeating was outside and animals ok 😊Not a lot of seating that I saw, but its a nice spot.
Everything here is superb. The ramen broth by itself is so good, savory and delicious. It honesty blows me away on how good the food is here, quality and service! If I were you I’d eat here, you’re not going to be disappointed!

Awesome flavors and good fresh ingredients! The chicken skewers are killer good. The Okie Pokey bowl is the best tuna bowl around. It’s become a favorite of mine. They pickle their own veggies, yum! My husband is a big fan of the ramen with real pork belly. They don’t do short cuts. You get really good food. Oh, and it’s totally worth enjoying your meal in their quaint outdoor seating.
We go here on a regular basis and would give ten stars if we could to Chowa Bowl in Morro Bay, California!! The ahi tuna poke bowl is on-point and the pork belly ramen is exceptional, especially paired with some delicious cold sake... Owned by Katie, wholl take very good care of you :-)
The beef bulgogi bowl was delicious! It was very flavorful and a nicely balanced meal. The place was very clean and everyone was wearing masks. I am definitely going back. I am happy to have a place like this in Morro Bay!
Oh my! The Rock Shoyu Ramen is delicious!! Pork, chicken & Dashi broth, pork belly, green onion, pickled Fresno pickled shallot, duck fat, ajitama, egg, togarashi, nori sheet. Sooooo good. We be back!!
The Rock Shoyu Ramen was incredibly delicious and unique, the broth had an intense spice fragrance that reminded us of Chinese or Vietnamese beef stews and the noodles had a chewy handmade texture (not sure if it was actually handmade, would be cool if it is) and the pork tender and melt in the mouth. The Okie Pokie was very tasty and fresh. However for the price at $16.50, especially the ramen, there should be more veges, garnish or pickles, its very spare for the price, just I small piece of seaweed, a piece of pork and half an egg. Also, no GF noodle options.I did read that they are trying to buy local veges and seafood (hopefully meat too!) and I hope that continues as its a big plus. We enjoy small food places with a creative twist and this is a refreshing addition to MB.
Im so happy this place exists! I recently discovered it yesterday, and had to go back today!So far Ive tried the skewers, rock shoyu ramen and beef bulgolgi bowl. All of them were amazing explosions of flavors. Would definitely recommend to anyone seeking a fun take on asian fusion dishes. You can tell theyre newer and working out some kinks, but man the food is tasty!Id make this a daily lunch spot if I could justify eating out that often.

I never leave reviews, this is my first time. Sorry but I got the Shoyu Romen, and it doesnt have any good flavors. For $16 it didnt have much in it and the broth was kinda gross. I hear the other food is good but Im not going to try it.
Nice addition to the food scene. I had the Oke Poke and it was very good! Rice was distinct and flavorful, fish was fresh, sauce well crafted; everything melded and left a good impression.

Everything was tasty and nutritious, but its a quite a bit different from traditional recipes. Its not what I expected, but I was able to enjoy it for what it is.
I got the Rock ramen. The broth was so salty it was almost inedible. The noodles were…meh, and the chashu bore only a passing resemblance to chashu . I won’t be back.

Poke bowl was fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented and generous. He brought it out to me at the table outside. Prices everywhere have gone high. I thought the portion they gave me fit the bill. Will come back when I pass through town again.

Every bowl that arrived was beautifully arranged with incredibly fresh, colorful and flavorful ingredients. We sat outside in the quiet and cute patio and enjoyed the okie pokey bowl (yes this IS what it’s all about!), a rock shoyu ramen bowl (the pork was to die for) and a beef bulgogi bowl with just the right amount of spice. My okie pokey bowl had the most exquisite blend of spices and sauces with so much ahi that I almost couldn’t finish it. Big portions. So healthy. A variety of spices in different dishes that are artfully combined. I sure wish I lived locally because this would be a regular favorite for me if I did.

Mainly Takeout, or eat at their tables outside.Their Rice Bowls are delicious with your choice of white or brown rice. The first time there we had their OKIE POKE, all fresh ingredients. Another favorite is their ROCK SHOYA RAMEN, Excellent broth.Looking forward to trying everything on the menu.They do have Beer, Sake and Non Acoholic Beverages.Their staff is friendly, J.D. or Honeybee will guide you if not sure what to order.Fresh and Healthy options!

2023-10-03 16:29:12Really impressed 👍 Stopped in for a quick to-go order to take to our hotel. This is a small take out place. A couple of tables on the patio; no indoor seating. Ordered at the window and the gentleman was kind enough to bring it out to our vehicle. We shared the poke bowl...it was huge! Plenty of tuna and delicious pickled veggies over rice. A great value especially considering were in a tourist area. I think well try the Bulgogi bowl next.
