Bamboo Bamboo Chinese Restaurant
810 Morro Bay Blvd, Morro Bay, CA 93442, United States
This chineese food was not good enough for me to want to eat there a second time. We got the family stir fry, which comes with beef, chicken, and shrimp. We substituted tofu for shrimp, so I dont know if the shrimp tastes any better than the beef and chicken. Hopefully, it does because the beef and chicken are quite bland. The only flavor I tasted was from the sauce, which definitely is from a package and not worth mentioning. The price was too high for the quality of food that we got. The bill was $60 for family stir fry, two soups, and an order of 5 spring rolls, which honestly tasted like they came frozen in a box from grocery outlet and were heated up in a salamander. They did not seem to be just fried. That being said, the service was very good. The waiter was so polite and very on point. I assume he is learning english, and I applaud how well he has done because it is a very hard language to learn, and he communicated with us just fine. The main attraction here is the robot server with the digital kitty face. Its cool to see in person and a great reason to stop by and see for yourself if you like the newest chineese food place in Morro Bay. Just because I did not care for it does not mean that you wont love it.A few key points:THEY HAVE A FOOD SERVING ROBOT! Maybe it wont be a big deal 10 years from now, but today, it really is very unique and progressive, and kinda a must-see for everybody, at least once. The restrooms are newly remodeled and super duper clean.Wheelchair accessable everything. There is plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant in case the main street out front has nowhere to park. They use recyclable Togo packaging??Being that I am a cook, I find it sus that the kitchen was enclosed during the remodel. It used to be wide open to view inside while you waited for your food to be cooked, back when it was Brickhouse BBQ. Nobody wants to work in an enclosed kitchen over an open, well ventilated one, and it costs more money to remodel the kitchen to be enclosed, which is not sensable monetarily when opening a restaurant in a new location that was already set up to be an operational kitchen as it was. Why would you not want people to see what is happening in the kitchen when before you could when it was a different restaurant. Im just saying its sus, and I believe, worth noting.??
Thai Elephant Morro Bay

I ordered take out over the phone, I parked on the street, convenient parking everywhere with plenty of banks in the nearby vicinity.-The Chicken fried rice was great and really hard to mess up considering its just rice in a wok with some sesame oils, chicken, veggies and soy. 13.95 for that and worth it.-The pad thai came with 2 sad looking pieces of shrimp on the side with the tail still on, bland noodles with the smallest sliver of pad thai sauce + 5oz of chicken at the max for an additional 6 dollar charge. $18.95 for that.-Mangos and sticky rice were never in the bag. For 2 orders I was charged 16$.All in all I paid $60 with a generous tip as I was rushed out the door by a young man and an older woman with the bag in her hand.I make it home and call about the mango and sticky rice, Which isnt even on their menu as I checked online. And they tell me to drive all the way back from san luis obispo to pick up 16 dollars worth of mangos and some rice with condensed sweetened milk.I never went back and never will.
Chowa Bowl

The Rock Shoyu Ramen was incredibly delicious and unique, the broth had an intense spice fragrance that reminded us of Chinese or Vietnamese beef stews and the noodles had a chewy handmade texture (not sure if it was actually handmade, would be cool if it is) and the pork tender and melt in the mouth. The Okie Pokie was very tasty and fresh. However for the price at $16.50, especially the ramen, there should be more veges, garnish or pickles, its very spare for the price, just I small piece of seaweed, a piece of pork and half an egg. Also, no GF noodle options.I did read that they are trying to buy local veges and seafood (hopefully meat too!) and I hope that continues as its a big plus. We enjoy small food places with a creative twist and this is a refreshing addition to MB.

Matty or Mattie has an attitude. Our first time here. Came from santa cruz to eat with my husband and small dog. When we arrived we walked in trying to find out how and where to order. He blows past me telling me if your dog is not a service dog then you have to go outside. She is a service dog I sayHe rolls his eyes and then proceeds to tell me that dogs are getting out of hand at the restaurant. I dont mind eating outside with my animal just trying to find where to order. I asked if I could get a menu, he huffed theres one inside and one outside and walked away. We ordered to go. I would have left and not spent my money here. Being vegans and this being the only spot close to our hotel we just ate it. Seems busy, maybe they are only nice to locals or dont care because they are a niche restraunt. I am a restaurant owner and I would never let employees make customers feel like that. Since there are no signs addressing this issue of service dogs and it seems to be getting out of hand according to Mattie, you should have a bit more patience when new customers navigate the establishment. The bagel and smoothie were fine just a hint of hostillity.
Sundown Inn

Very unprofessional, Wielieh Lin, dont know if he is owner or just a manager. Called harassing me from his cell phone, not once but twice. Threatened me, tried to cancel my reservation cause I wouldnt pull over and talk to him right this second. I refused to stay here after that and while my original credit card that I used to book this room with was reported lost since the booking, I had called the Inns number to let them know why it wasnt being able to be charged and was driving there as we spoke. His inability to wait the 3 hrs for me to arrive (I explained I was driving there as we spoke), rough and VERY rude communication earned him to be hung up on. Unclear why he felt it was okay to use the inns records to contact me from his personal phone and threaten me, but I would never recommend anyone to experience his lack of customer service.

Booked through Agoda for 3 nights back in Feb 2023. We have stayed there before and loved the quiet vibe. Unfortunetly we didnt even stay one night due to room pictures not being accurate on agodas site. You would have thought it was agodas mistake but they blammed the hotel. The hotel blammed Agoda. And either party would give us a full refund. We were charged for one night and both parties wouldnt credit is at all. After trying to reason with the older Asian lady at the front she wouldnt give us a contact number to discuss this with a manager. (She is the manager we later found out) We just wanted a full refund as we didnt even stay one night. We didnt even open the door to our room.Oh and we did try to originally book straight though the hotel at the desk but the price was atleast $50 us more a night. The big kicker wasnt that. What set off our alarm bells was when we asked for a crib for our child. We were going to be charged extra which is ok but not usually the norm in hotels but the lady would not show us the crib or verify if it was safe for our 9 month old. Some older pack and plays can be dangerous due to folding up while child is inside.Im not sure but I think this hotel was taken over by new management.I hate leaving this review but I spent many hours fighting it out with Agoda due to this hotel not budging giving a full refund.Went to the best western up the street. Ended up being cheaper. No charge for a crib. Had a great breakfast included and a wine and cheese hour later on in the day.... and we could hear the sealions from our room. Also we were offered a significant discount to stay a 4th night.
Treasures Antique Mall

I was there 2day @ about 5pm. Mind you, due to pandemic, I had not really been out. This was a place on my to go to list. The place is quirky.A bit of everything really-fun!But the sour gal that was there 2day said not one word to me as a customer. She obviously saw me enter the shop.I later brought up 3 clothing items.I was a bit unclear of where to pay.She seemed to obviously be preoccupied with some kind of book task?I finally had to DISTURB her and ask her where I pay. Seriously. If it wasnt because I know antique stores have multiple dealers- I wouldve left my 3 items there on the counter. She did ask me if I wanted a bag at the end but even that seemed like such an effort. Never again Treasures Antiques.UNFRIENDLY SALES PPL.
Harbor Hut

Harbor Hut in Morro Bay is an absolute gem, offering a delightful seafood dining experience with breathtaking views of the bay. From start to finish, our meal was a testament to the culinary excellence and warm hospitality that Harbor Hut is known for.As we stepped into the spacious restaurant, we were immediately captivated by the panoramic view of the bay, setting the perfect backdrop for a sunset dinner. The ambiance was serene and sophisticated, creating an ideal atmosphere for an adult dining experience. The menu, while not overwhelming, boasted a variety of options, from locally caught seafood to salads, soups, and even chicken and steak dishes. For our mains, I opted for the shrimp scampi, accompanied by a delectable array of vegetables and the star of the show – the fried potato cake. Let me tell you, this potato cake deserves its own accolades – herb mashed potatoes breaded with parmesan cheese and fried to perfection. Each bite was a heavenly explosion of flavor. The shrimp scampi, served with a lemon butter and caper broth for dipping, was equally divine. My partner indulged in the fish and chips, a generous portion of beer-battered cod accompanied by steak fries. He couldnt stop raving about the savory tartar sauce and the delightful pineapple coleslaw that accompanied the dish.Despite our best intentions, we were too full to even contemplate dessert, a testament to the generous portions and satisfying flavors of our meal.Overall, Harbor Hut exceeded our expectations in every way. With its stellar food, welcoming atmosphere, and stunning views, its a must-visit destination for seafood lovers and anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience in Morro Bay.
