An alright Chinese diner kind of food. There was absolutely no wait for this restaurant.Their portion sizes are decent and the pricing is ok given the current economy.The pork chop doesnt come cut which was strange, but at least they dont use too much batter when cooking it.The cold dish set comes with a lot of cilantro, so if youre a fan of it, its pretty decent value.One thing to note is the noodles had a little too much oil at the bottom than I felt was necessary, but overall still pretty good.This can be a decent back up option to eat at if the eateries in the area are jam packed.

I had thought I gave a review already to this place, but I guess I havent . I have been going here for quite some time. I have seen this place remodel throughout the years and no matter how much they upgrade the look, the food has always been good. This restaurant I say has the best combination cold plate. All of their other food is just really packed with flavor, so def go try it out! Keep in mind that they do accept credit card and accept Mobile Pay.FoodThis is what I usually order here:Dings Special (4) Cold Plate- Bean Curd, Pig Ear, Seaweed and Beef - this is a MUST try. You can choose your own spicy level but this for sure is a must try. Ingredients feel fresh.Beef Roll Wrap- traditional beef wrap packed w flavorShanghai Rice Cake- always pretty good here, recommend to finish day of as next day may not be as goodDan Dan Noodles- I always order this a bit spicier, but it is packed with flavor. Only thing I wish is if it has some more meat or something .This place again has been here for so long, it is next to boiling crab before it existed in this plaza. You will really not be disappointed to try this place out. The only thing is that the food may be a bit more oilier with the chili oil, etc, but just get some hot tea to wash it down. Can’t wait to come back !

Clean and bright restaurant. Excellent cold cut charcuterie, visually impressive and full of flavor. The stewed pig feet is thoroughly cooked but still retain a firmness for those who enjoy a bit of a fight. The fried rice with deep fried pork chop and a stewed egg is a satisfying combination. The pork chop is so crispy yet juicy. I really enjoyed my visit.

We came here for dinner, last try here was back in 2019, and the conclusion is the food quality has gone down quite a bit. We ordered Beef Noodle Soup, Wonton Soup, Pan Fried Buns, and Beef Stuffed Scallion Cake and total cost is $60. The soup base from the Beef Noodle Soup has no flavor but being spicy. The buns and cake were very mediocre, only the wonton was okay. We will try somewhere else in the future.

Dan Dan Noodles were good, we got it spicy. They use those numbing spices. I did not like the pan fried dumplings though. It was not juicy and the meat had a sugary sweetness, a but too sweet for my taste. For pan fried dumplings, I prefer to get them at Kang Kang.

I would say the food is quite authentic...The mini wontons are the must. I often drive an hour to get stuff here. However this one lady at the restaurant today was giving attitude and yelling when I asked for the condiments they gave last time. They are for the frozen wontons. ( They gave last time and a detail instruction on how to use them) She said she couldnt make the decision as she was not the owner and started making a scene. I didnt expect that to escalate so fast. If she just said it nicely I probably just make the broth I usually do at home. I told her I didnt want the wonton order anymore then without the condiments ( which is what makes it so good). She started saying random things in her native shanghainess tougne loudly to others in the restaurant with apparent attitude. The other lady offered to check out was a lot calmer to speak to andI ended up buying some extra wontons and other items as I didnt want to deal with that lady next time.Unfortunately with this experience, even I liked the food, its not a place I would recommend. I order ~$100 worth of food every time and its a pity that they couldnt train their staff better.

The food wasn’t good. When ordering the waitress kept pushing us to buy a drink and when we didn’t, wasn’t given any water. Leaving after we barely ate anything, they ran after us for a tip. She told us that eating at a restaurant obligates us to tip, after refusing and telling them we don’t believe they deserve it the waitress told us that it doesn’t matter if the food is good; that we have to tip because their pay is not high enough. The worst restaurant i’ve ever been to.

The food was very good. We ordered veggie bow and it came out with soft skin and delicious veggies with mushroom in the middle. We ordered tripe beef as appetizer and it had the right amount of numbing flavor to make the dish light even though its full of oils. Stingy tofu was stingy lol. But it was fried with juicy soft center and crunchy on the outside. Will definitely go back to try other dishes!

Great food, but their service could use a little work. We arrived with our child and they were pretty busy for lunch. But there were only two busted highchairs in the restaurant, and both were used at one table. It may sound petty, but most parents of toddlers can school you on how hard it is to keep a toddler sitting at a restaurant.

The service was horrible here. Our waitress rolled her eyes at us more times than I could count and practically threw our plates on the table. I was getting kind of pissed off but my anger quickly subsided when my cold dish arrived.Dings Garden offers a variety of noodle, rice, and dumpling dishes. The thing theyre best known for though is their cold plate. My friend and I got the basic cold plate for $8.50 and it came with tripe, pigs ear, and bean curd. Its seriously the most delicious cold dish Ive ever had. We ordered it extra spicy.My friend and I also shared a spicy beef noodle soup and a stir-fried yu choy (vegetable dish). Both were alright but I would have rather ordered 2 cold dishes and nothing else. They have several kinds of dumplings but we didnt try it this time around.The portions are large and everything is pretty cheap. The restaurant has a sign that says cash only but we overheard the waitress telling someone they accept debit cards.

Ive only had the dry noodles and dumplings here. Then I come back, figure Ill try something else, and then think to myself, but I cant give up those dry noodles.Every. Time.Theres not a bad set of dry noodles on the menu. Brown sauce, pork and pickles, onion, idiots ... theyre all excellent, and theyre all worth coming back for.

We love their food but their service needs to be improved. We ordered take out and they said 15 minutes to wait. We arrived 20 min later and they still werent done. We paid the cashier and proceeded to wait for another 10 minutes. We called the waiter over to see what the problem was and he rudely said I know. Give us a couple minutes. We eyed a to go package that had been sitting on the counter 15 minutes ago prior to him being rude to us. He finally waved us over and said its ready. We knew it had been ready all this time. No apology for the wait or lack of attention to customers.Work on immediacy and urgency for your customers.

The plaza was super busy on a Friday night.Luckily we didn’t have to wait for a table.The cold plate is what Ding’s Garden is known for.We ordered the 4 items with bean curd, pig’s ear, beef tripe and seaweed.Absolutely delicious! I don’t know what kind of dressing they use, but it’s so good.It’s slightly spicy, flavorful, and definitely open up your appetite.I love their dan dan noodle.There’s no meat, just delicious sesame sauce with spicy oil and chewy noodles.It’s very simple and so good.I can’t get enough of it.Dr. P ordered braised beef noodle soup.I had a few bites and liked it.He thought it was good, but slightly too salty.We ordered more than enough dishes for 2 so we could have leftover to take home.Braised pork chop has huge portion! We love the egg and veggie fried rice.The braised pork chop had good flavor and tender meat, but a bit too salty for our taste.Shanghai Pan Fried Dumpling had a crispy bottom, and soft chewy dough.The filling was too salty for my taste (again). But Dr. P thought it was fine.Unfortunately, Dr. P got a tiny piece of blue plastic thing in his bun.Maybe a piece of plastic got into the filling as they were grinding and mixing?The owner and waitress apologized repeatedly and took the dish off our bill.We like the restaurant. I especially love the cold plate and dan dan noodle.Maybe next time I’ll tell them less salt in my food.Big portion and great price. I’d come back again.

From the Dan Dan mein dry noodles to the cold dishes and dumplings, this place IS authentic Shanghai cuisine at its best. My favorite place for spicy pig ears, seaweed knots and bean curd. I gave it 5 stars because its a true Chinese experience: service isnt supposed to be good and they arent supposed to speak English

This is a Taiwanese restaurant. Flavors are very good. Never super crowded, but the parking lot can be packed at times. Kids favorite is the steamed dumplings (shao-loong-bow). Their beef noodle soup is also very good.

Horrible horrible service. Waited 20 minutes and waiters entertained customers who had arrived way after us despite one waiter nodding her head two different times that she would get our order. She then got the order of a bigger group that came in after us. We told her we were ahead of them and had been waiting but she didnt care. We were so pissed that we just left. Got the feeling that if you are not Taiwanese or Chinese that they dont care about you. Terrible service!!!!! Felt so disrespected!!!!!

Ive been here twice to sit down and eat and a few other times for thai tea which is the only good they sell and today will be my last time. The first time I ordered shrimp fried rice which is waaaaaaayyyyy to greasy to taste anything and the second time I ordered Beef soup. I asked for moderately spicy but was over the top with spicyness. I tried asking the waiter questions but I could tell he barely spoke english. Today I came in to order a thai tea but after the waitress decided to refill the toothpicks and sweep around a little bit first, I asked her to cancel my order, in which she said,Itll only take a minute. Are you kidding me?!?! Not understanding why she didnt do that first, I insisted and left.

Gave a small amount tip and was chased after saying was given too little and a certain amount of tipping is a must. As I recall tipping is based on service and courtesy.

My friend, a born-and-raised 626 cheapie chinese food fanatic, was RAVING about this place, and we decided to make the trek out here from DTLA to eat. He told me his family had been coming here for decades, and that they had moved from 626, and that his family now drives all the way to rowland to eat here. I had to go.The place is a good size for a family asian food restaurant, and they have a connected boba shop next door. There are pictures of the owner-lady all around, paintings too, in elegant garb. I always smile when she takes my order and I see her portrait with an elaborate gown on in the background. Shes super nice, and jokes with us when we are late and we keep our friends waiting to eat!Onto the good stuff, the food!Start with the cucumbers. They are boiled and marinated in a sweet and salty rice vinegar, and they are just to die for. Seriously. I always get 2 orders, and sometimes one to go. They are so simple, but so delicious. A little greased, but very fresh tasting still, and a great way to prep your stomach for the deliciousness that is about to ensue.Next, order the XLBs, or the Xiao Long Bao (juicy pork steamed soup dumplings). Way better than the famous DTF branch in LA (but not the one in taiwan, those are to die for). They come like 8-10 to an order, with fresh ginger. Add the red vinegar and drizzle a bit inside for flavor maximization and taste bud overload. Delish.Braised chow mein is delicious. Its fatty, juicy noodles, mixed with cabbage, beef, and lots of deliciousness, panfried, and a perfect carbby addition to your meal.The Beef Noodle Soup is decent. Lots of noodles and a decent portion of meat. Beware, its spicy. The regular is plenty of spice for me, but Im a spice wimp. My friend swears by the spicy.My friends family dies for the Jiao Huo Jiao Huo -- mix plate sautee. you pick 3-5 things, and they usually get it with tofu strips, pigs ears, and intestines. They LOVE it. I am not quite adventurous enough to try, but I did nibble on a pig ear, and it was pretty tasty! This also stays very well as a to go.I love coming here, and each time, I love the food more and more. Its homey, family, casual, delicious. Always on point, and always there! My friend is secretly praying they will return to 626, but in the mean time, we will keep making that drive from dtla to get this stuff!Tip:Cash only, bring your $$$Parking can be a pain (Boiling Crab is in the same plaza) but just drive around a few times and a spot always opens.

Recommended by a friend, I drove 45 minutes to eat there, and actually found a cockroach. They came with a so-called store manager who was a shrew and tried to be tough. I had to say that it couldnt be from their store. Its everyones fault if a store like this doesnt close down. Responsibility! I had diarrhea twice immediately after returning home. I wish the black-hearted store will close down soon.

Ive been here many times and Im always satisfied with the taste. I bought takeout from them on October 14th. The store sold me spoiled braised meat. I went to them to return it and they insulted me and pushed me. I had a six-year-old child at the time and they even scolded my son. I didnt see him. I’ve never experienced such an unscrupulous shop. A lawsuit has been filed in a small court! I hope you get justice. I also hope that everyone will pay attention to safety when going to such a black shop, especially their store manager is very fierce!
