2023-08-13 11:58:20No question, THE BEST Chinese food Contra Costa county. Great taste, large variety, Chinese service style e.g. leaves a printed copy of the order on the table and mark every dish which is served - like in China mainland. Quick and efficient service.Dont give up on their chicken and veggies dumplings, the sweet-taste spaghetti.... or the special bread.

2023-08-24 01:38:11Dumpling Hours is one of those restaurants I want to gatekeep to myself because of how tasty it is but also share it with everyone. If you’ve had the staple SF spots like Dumpling Home or Dumpling Time, this restaurant is at the same level if not better.Their pan fried dumplings and XLB are to die for and I always order extra. Everything come out piping hot and fresh. Prices are super reasonable and service is great. The restaurant can get pretty busy so make sure to budget time in case you need to wait but it’s worth it. This has definitely become one of my go to dumpling spots in the Bay Area.

2023-09-19 00:37:29Had such a great experience here. Ordering is done online using a QR code on the table. They couldn’t have made it easier. Service was quick and friendly. Everything we tried was tasty and fresh. I love this place. I would come back here. There’s more I want to try.

2023-08-24 21:07:16A friend of mine recommended this place! It was overall a decent experience, but keep in mind - they get VERY busy during dinner hours on the weekends. Everyone seemed to be ordering the Ginger & Scallion Noodles and XLB here!Of the various items we ordered, the Pork Xiao Long Bao (5/5) were the best in my opinion! Very juicy and the texture of the dumplings were pleasant. Durable and not too thick! The broth was a shocking mix of chicken and pork flavors. I had never tasted chicken broth in a soup dumpling, so it was an interesting change of pace. The Sheng Jian Bao (3/5) were a bummer to me. The wrapper was too thick and the filling was overcooked. The bottoms werent as crispy as I had hoped too. This also had the same broth as the XLB.

2023-05-28 05:14:48Thin skinned and juicy XLB, and juice explosive pan fried dumpling. Chicken wing appetizer is crispy and hot. Cucumber appetizer has a big portion size . Dishes are visually pleasing. Waited 20 minutes on a Saturday. Dish gets served rather quickly overall. Not too expensive, like 13.9 for 8 XLB. I see there’s only 1 bathroom? It’s cute you get to see staff making dumplings. Overall, this shop is slightly above standard of what you can get in Walnut Creek for such price .

2023-06-13 16:36:44Fast and bustling little shop. Waited 30 mins on Saturday night for 2. The tables move quickly so it shouldn’t be that long of wait. Dumplings were fresh and handmade as you can see in the open kitchen. Food came really quickly too unless you order the XLB. The crushed cucumbers came in a big plate however smaller pieces would have been more enjoyable. The pan fried buns were delicious but the ginger scallion noodles were the best!! The original XLB was kind of plain, so consider spicy.Staff was pleasant and smiling. Service was quick. Atmosphere was casual. They also have outdoor dining!

2023-07-25 21:54:53The food here is fabulous and the customer service beyond exceptional. My wife and I had an amazing time. We had our baby daughter in a stroller and they treated us so kindly and accommodated us in a table inside with sufficient space. This place is totally worth the wait.

2023-09-29 00:56:50I paid a visit to dumpling hours today, foods are okay, XLB pork soup dumplings and Pan fried steam buns are top notch, the rest of dishes are so so, I would give the food 4 out of 5, but the service is horrible, to be honest, there were three ladies serving, the older one is rude particularly, first look at me judging then look at the watch, because i entered the store right at 11 am, when they should open, she reluctantly took me and sat me in the corridor without even asking, I spoke Chinese tonher( well I can speak Chinese and it’s a Chinese restaurant) she seems like not willing to talk in in Chinese, then told me to scan the QR code, walked away, I ordered some foods, came relatively quick, but seems like everybody is busy, no smiling, no refill of water, i ordered more foods, so they put two receipts on my table and ladies keep come checking, and told me this one is the final check while I was eating, it’s such a small table, you can see from the picture! I regret going there honestly and gave a 10% tip, I don’t think the service is acceptable, and I don’t understand why everybody tried to speak broken English to me while they all can speak Chinese! Anyway would not recommend this restaurant, again foods are good, service is one star

2023-01-04 23:03:55Tried “Dumpling Hours” in Walnut Creek today and was pleasantly surprised !! The food was great ! The pan fried dumplings were the best and the steamed dumplings were also excellent ! No need to wait in line at DTF in Valley Fair Mall in San Jose, Ca .. this place is not a hole-the -Wall … it’s not a huge place, but it’s smartly decorated, place is clean and service is great … the food is awesome 👍 there are some dishes here … you just don’t see in most Shanghai restaurants . ( sliced beef shank sandwich toast ) had Hot/Sour soup, Beef noodle Soup, Green Onion pancake, dumplings, XLB dumplings .. all we’re good !!

2023-10-14 21:01:24The xiao long bao and sheng jian bao are absolutely amazing and the best in the area! Tastes authentic and even better than some places in Shanghai (but much pricier of course)! Be prepared to wait a little bit during peak hours. The restaurant also gets quite busy and a little loud sometimes.
