Great service! Yummy food! Come during happy hour! 3pm - closing Monday through Friday! So good and worth the stop. I listened to Disney music and enjoyed the salmon lovers and spicy crunch tuna rolls during a bad day. I felt like myself when I left. So good!

Excellent Sushi Experience with Amazing Service!I visited Fish in a bottle for their happy hour, and I must say, it was an incredible experience.The happy hour offered a great opportunity to sample various sushi options, and I took full advantage of it.I ordered the tuna, salmon, black cod, and Akami nigiri and sashimi platters, and they exceeded my expectations. The flavors were sublime, and the presentation was visually appealing. And the chef give me their new menu item- Black Cod Miso nigiri for free to try, it is so good!!It was a chill and slow afternoon so I am glad that I can just take my sweet time to enjoy every single bite, haha. And their staffs are super friendly and service is efficient.Overall, I highly recommend Fish in a bottle. Whether youre a sushi fan or a newcomer to Japanese cuisine, youre in for a treat. The delicious food, combined with the impeccable service, creates an unforgettable dining experience. I will definitely be returning to savor more of their delectable offerings.

Update july 2023: just not the same. Didn’t even finish our rolls as they weren’t good. Not the same quality it used to be. Even the spicy edamame has changed. It’s sweet now, not spicy.We definitely visited the Cypress location, not another location. These are the original photos from when we first started going. We don’t even recognize the rolls anymore.We love this place! Great happy hour prices. Where else can you get a HUGE glass of wine for under $5? Our favorites are the Crazy Boy, Albacore Delight, Pompei, Vegas, Twin Dragon and Firecracker! My boys love the tempura shrimp, spicy edamame and of course miso soup! Enjoy!!

Cypress Location.It’s been a long time since I dined at this restaurant. I found the salad though visually appealing it tasted like dirt.I ordered an assortment of sushi and the fish all tasted too fishy and a bit slimy.This is the last time I’ll go there. Fish shouldn’t be slimy and fishy smelling.Sorry but I have to give this place a 3.

A pleasant sushi experience.They got a wide enough menu to make most people happy.Their service is fast and theyre sushi is good quality. We got the Baja roll with the grilled salmon. The grilled salmon came with miso soup.Nice quaint place with upbeat music and bright colors, But not in any kind of obnoxious way. I will absolutely be coming back here. Its also a great place/ setting to go for a second date.

If you love fish and love yourself, go here. The fish is top tier quality that will catch you delightfully off guard. The staff is friendly, on top of it and filled with joy. My little munchkins were craving for sushi after their little marathon at school today; so I decided to take them out on a dinner date after work! My kids knew exactly what I was going to feed them as we pulled up into the spacious parking lot! They guessed SUSHI!!! Just from reading the name?! I have 3 smart cookies!We were quickly greeted with a friendly smile at the door & was asked for seating preferences between a table or booth! Its our first time here so our waiter walked us through the menu as he brought us all an iced cold lemon water! He recommended Gyoza & both plain Edamame & Garlic Edamame appetizers while we wait for our rolls. Everything was delicious!Oh boy could my Munchkins really eat after a Color Run!!!My kids started off with 2 Baked Lobster; which were very good & had plenty of delicious crawfish & sweet sauce drenched over the California Rolls! Talking about plenty!!! There was plenty of left over chunks of Crawfish & sauce on their plates; so my kids ordered 2 more California Rolls to dip!!! They were not done yet!!! Their dinner ended with another 2 Crunch Crunch; which were California rolled with lightly deep fried Tempura Shrimp & drizzled with Crunch Tempura Crumbs on top... hence the name CRUNCH CRUNCH!I had an Albacore Delight filled with spicy Albacore & topped with seared Albacore! I love Albacore so this roll was definitely made for me! I also ordered a Twin Dragon which was rolled with Spicy Crab & topped with Tuna & Salmon! I had grown up in Cypress and always past by, then I moved to Garden Grove, and completely forgot about it. My bf however lives close enough so we decided to go. The food was amazing, The service was pretty good as well, and we were able to get seated right away. The only sound side, but its ro be expected, was the noise from other people, but literally everything else was sooo good. We happened to accidentally go there during Happy Hour, we didnt realize until a little bit before we got our check, we were betting on how much it would be beforehand, and then we saw that the Happy Hour was from 3 PM to closing. So our check wasnt even that expensive! It was well under $100 and we had gotten a lot of food. Ill definitely be going back.

The food is very good. I havent had a roll here that I didnt like, with the possible exception of the Vegas roll, but thats a personal taste issue, not a food quality issue.My main complaint is that service leaves much to be desired. It took forever to get our food, I got one drink refill in an hour, and the establishment wasnt particularly busy at the time. It took almost 20 minutes to pay for my check. Thats insane.Prices are affordable, food quality and taste is above average and employees are nice, but that wait time.....

Ive been to this place a few times but fell in love after just the first visit! First off, the sushi is super good and fresh! Plus they have happy hour specials and lunch specials that make it so affordable! The waitresses are always so nice and amazing. This is a favorite for my friends and I whenever we want that sushi fix! And I want to add, I do not live in the area but work nearby, and the drive is always worth it.

Its the best sushi spot Ive ever been to. They always bring the flavor on any on the rolls. (The Nemo is excellent) and the nigiri is always so good. The Toro was on the special list last Friday and it was absolutely incredible buttery deliciousness.

We enjoy the sushi and rolls here very much. Service is friendly but can be slow even when they are not busy. We usually go for happy hour which gives you a lower price on certain sushi and rolls. I recommend this also. The place is run down and needs a renovation, but consistently puts out good and fresh food. I would give 5 stars if they put a new floor and fresh coat of paint. I would still recommend this spot for good food as it is!

The service however is a bit lack luster at the best of times when there is minimal to no traffic, and poor when it is busy. The best sushi restaurant Ive ever been to! We were so well taken care of by the entire staff! This is a little overdue and even though I rarely write reviews I feel compelled to for this place. We were in from out of town and craving sushi and this place was near our hotel. First of all the happy hour was great. Much later than you would find most other places and a good selection. The sushi was not the best Ive had but still good. The thing that put this place over the top for us was the service. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. The server was very attentive and even paid extra attention to our 3 year old :) We were talking him to his first trip to Disneyland for an early birthday present. He told this to her and that his real birthday wasnt until next month. Before our meal ends, they bring him a dessert and sing him happy birthday!! It was very cool and he was really excited. He even said we he got back to the hotel he was going to (made a two fist pump gesture) because of how excited he was. lol The chef even came out when we left. Anyway, it was a great experience for us and if we are sure to come back next time we are in town. I would encourage you to do the same!

Okay Fish in a bottle, I would say this is my favorite Sushi restaurant, there are an abundance of rolls to choose from. I have been coming to this place since 2011. In that 8 years I have never been dissatisfied with the service or the food. Ive spent many birthdays and celebrated many occasions and created so many memories at Fish in a bottle. Come here for the happy hour, its usually from 3pm-6:30pm drinks are cheap, sushi and appetizers are cheap and delicious. Parking is always available. The wait is never long, Ive always been seated right away. All in all Fish in a Bottle is the best sushi joint in Cypress CA.

Had a wonderful experience last week at this restaurant. Limited staff on duty but they were very nice and did the best they could in serving us in a timely matter. These days many places cannot find workers to fill the positions they have open. Food was excellent and served hot. Got very busy towered the end of our meal. Great food! Daily Happy Hour. Always crowded and a fun crowd.Was accidentally overcharged. The owner has his cell number on the receipt. The sushi was pretty good and the service was actually amazing. The chef made a cute little character out of an orange peel for our 5 year old and they gave us a free dessert complete with happy Anniversary written in chocolate, as we were there for dinner on our anniversary. I can’t believe how good the reviews were. We came to a conclusion that because we came on a Wednesday it was inbetween their shipments so the fish was just HORRID. Might give it another try on a weekend. But based off first time would not recommend this place. Hot plates are frozen. Don’t even lie. Those hot plates (dumplings etc.) are reheated from FROZEN

Quality of fish to price was not favorable even including their lunch combo special which also includes a not clearly defined system where you need to pay extra for per roll that isnt extremely basic and in the standard 10 dollar price tag. still was cheaper than two rolls. The actual sushi was so so, and thickness of fish wasnt the worst a good place if you want some close by sushi, but dont expect quality to sit well with you if you are a big fan of sushi.

We tried this restaurant twice, I didnt want to review based on just one experience in case it was an off night...The first time it was dead, and for a Friday night we were apprehensive about actually eating there... The second time this last Friday night it was packed and we had to wait for a seat so I was thinking it might be better...Nope both times with different waitresses the service was beyond slow to the point of being ignored.The first time we ordered the $15 sampler and a fried CA roll, and the second we ordered sushi and of course the fried CA roll.One of the sushi items we tried was called French Kiss and I may be slow and not get it, but thinking about it I think maybe one is supposed to kiss while eating it cuz this piece of sushi was almost 3 across, too big to easily slip into ones mouth, but maybe 2 mouths could handle it.The other rolls were mediocre, nothing impressive. They do have the seaweed wrap on the outside of the roll, which I found that my friend did not prefer.Food was edible, but when I am dining out I want to experience the food, not just have something edible to fill my belly.In this case, 2 strikes and they are out. We will not be going back.UPDATE:Ok, so we were dragged back to this place and they did a full 180.This has become our regular sushi place...Now everything we order is great and that includes things previously reviewed.I can not say enough, except that it is amazing, and I am glad to have gone back.

Fish in a Bottle bills itself as a modern sushi bar, which after my lunch visit today, I assume means the food breaks the norms of traditional Japanese cuisine. I wasnt impressed by the innovations, such as a hefty dish of tartar sauce-like mayo for the chicken katsu instead of either the traditional tomato/soy or tonkatsu sauce. Yuck. Or the cereal bowl with soup spoons for the miso soup instead of cups you can drink from. Very splashy, very awkward. The California roll was barely passable, with way too much crab, no cucumber for crunch, and almost nonexistent rice. The salad was good but the tempura was mediocre, with the shrimp being very small and the coating on the broccoli mushy. Our waitress was sweet and accommodating but didnt know a thing about the food. I wanted to like it but wont be back. There are too many good alternatives.
