We dined here with my in-laws since it’s one of their favorite restaurants (we’re from San Diego). It was an Asian-style fusion sit-down casual restaurant. You order at the counter then they bring your order to your table. They have a variety of appetizers available, plus Pho Vietnamese noodle soup, and build your own plates (you choose the side, the protein, and any extras you want). We did the build your own plate and opted for their crispy garlic rice, filet mignon, and spring salad. We added a fried egg to the order. We were blown away by the taste (freshness, temperature, and taste). The filet mignon was so tender and tasty. I wanted to try their Rotisserie Chicken for my protein but the cashier serving us said the filet mignon is their most popular ordered protein, so I’ll have to try the rotisserie chicken the next time we visit Cypress. The dining area was clean and tidy, as was their restrooms. They have plenty of parking, and the dining room wasn’t super crowded on a Saturday night (we had 8 in our party) and had no trouble getting a table to accommodate us. We wish we had a similar restaurant to this in our area.

Asian restaurants are not known for polite service but the soup is good. Broth and noodles good.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar
9531 Valley View St, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
Came here with my family for the first time and left knowing that it will be our last time. I can understand the appeal and novelty of ordering food from a screen and having it being delivered from a conveyor belt BUT the food was definitely not worth the price. We kept ordering more food hoping the next order would be better but alas it was not. Any nigiri we ordered was comparable to sushi you would find at your local grocery store. Not fresh, rice was falling apart and it definitely did not look like anything from the menu picture. Anything fried was definitely cooked in a cheap seed oil (even though Kura prides themselves on using quality products). The deep fried squid was oily and so chewy as if it was recently defrosted and tossed in the fryer. The service was hit and miss. Our main server seemed to be preoccupied with other things (the restaurant was empty with plenty of seating both at counter and table) and we had to remind her to bring us “wasabi”. I'm not even sure you can call that thing wasabi.. the wasabi packets you get when you order takeout sushi is better than what's offered here. When it was time to pay, there was no lasting impression. She dropped off the checked, picked up my credit card and dropped off the final bill - that's it, no smile or thank yous. Cleanliness was something to be desired. Our table looked like it was barely wiped down from the previous guests along with the ordering tablet. For $78 + tip for two, we could've gone to an AYCE for better quality, quantity and service. If you want a sushi train experience, I would highly suggest you look elsewhere because this chain and especially this location missed the mark on all things for a memorable dining experience.
Panda Express
5353 Katella Ave, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I've always liked Panda Express until a recent experience where I paid nearly ten dollars for a mini bowl of food(barely a snack) and a drink. It was however, good as far as fast Chinese food goes but why did they steer away from the larger trays? I used to pay no more than seven or eight dollars for a heaping take out tray of food from Panda Express so why now, during a pandemic, are you selling mini bowls for higher the price? Shame. Never coming back. If I want high quality fast Chinese food pick up stix will be my go to, otherwise I'm sticking to my friendly neighborhood Chinese takeout place, the wok experience! I pay seven dollars for a heaping tray of great food. They do t cut quality or rip people off.I could've gone to a high-quality sit down dinner Chinese restaurant for less than I paid equivalent to that portion panda express gave me.
Ichitaru Ramen
5721 Lincoln Ave ste F, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
Another day on the road food tasting. Today we picked Itchitaru Ramen located in Cypress California. The restaurant is located at the back of the strip mall. As we entered, we noticed about 8 patrons busy enjoying their food. The restaurant with about six tables. There is also a bar with private partitions to enjoy your meal in private. As we entered we were warmly welcomed by the server and promptly seated. The server was knowledgeable when it came to the items on the menu.We ordered Takoyaki, Garlic Bomb Ramen with pork, Avacado Bomb and a Peach tea.The Takoyaki was absolutely fantastic looking and smelled great. They were deep fried to a crispy brown topped with Bonito shaving and sauce. The Garlic Bomb Ramen was ordered with medium heat... a sip of the red broth was spicy, warm and addictive. The pork in the ramen was absolutely tender. The next was the Avacado Ball. The avacado ball is deep fried in a batter which made it nice n crunchy then cut in half desseded and stuffed with cream cheese and crab meat, then topped with sauce. This combination of ingredients is absolutely YUM!! A must try.Overall, a big thumbs up here at Ichitaru!!!!
WaBa Grill
9535 Valley View St, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I have always liked Waba and this is the location I go to but last Saturday I had the worst service ever. I ordered the salad with salmon and the young girl at the register was having trouble entering my order on the register. After a few minutes she moved to the other register and continued to have problems, so her solution was to ask me “do you have cash?”. After replying no she went to another young lady for help and entered my order. I then told her “can you please make my salmon with pink?” She went to the girl who was about to cook the salmon and came back and asked, “so you want it raw?” I said no just a little pink inside. She went back to the girl who then came to the counter and said “I don't know how to make it that way”. To help her out I told her to cook it about the time she usually does and as she held the salmon in her hand she said “Im going to do my best”. I took my order home and when I cut a piece of the salmon I saw that it was just seared on the outside and raw inside, totally raw and cold. I cooked the salmon myself. They also did not give me dressing for the salad. It is obvious that these two girls need some training.
Thai BBQ & Noodles
9195 Valley View St, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
We ordered pad thai and panang curry. Neither had any flavor. The curry was like watery brown sludge with chunks of fatty beef in it. Not normal curry beef but stew beef. There was NO vegetables or anything else except the stew beef chunks. My husband had to basically soak his pad thai in Cholula to give it any flavor. I tried some in my curry to help give it flavor, but it didnt work... So I ate flavorless, vegetable-less, fatty beef brown soup with rice. So disappointed. I love Thai food, have eaten it in the most random places around the world, and never had anything close to as bad as this. The only redeeming part was the mango sticky rice which was good.
Sushi World
10953 Meridian Dr, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi World, and I must say, the culinary experience was quite delightful. The restaurant offers a wide selection of sushi rolls, and I had the opportunity to try the Cheetah Roll, Atlantic Dragon Roll, White Dragon Roll, and Spicy Tuna Rice Cake. Each dish was a treat for the taste buds, leaving me wanting more. The Cheetah Roll, filled with fresh salmon, creamy avocado, and delectable cheese, was a true standout. The combination of flavors was harmonious, and the presentation was visually appealing. It was a perfect balance of textures and tastes. The Atlantic Dragon Roll and White Dragon Roll were equally impressive. The rolls were beautifully crafted, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. The Atlantic Dragon Roll had a delightful combination of seafood, while the White Dragon Roll offered a unique twist with its fusion of flavors. Both rolls were a pleasure to indulge in.The Spicy Tuna Rice Cake was another highlight of my meal. The spicy kick of the tuna paired wonderfully with the sticky rice, creating a satisfying and flavorful dish. It was a creative take on traditional sushi, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.The service at Sushi World was exceptional. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They provided recommendations and ensured that my dining experience was pleasant. However, one aspect that could be improved upon is the waiting time. The wait for a table was longer than anticipated, which slightly affected the overall experience. In conclusion, Sushi World offers a fantastic selection of sushi rolls bursting with flavor. The Cheetah Roll, Atlantic Dragon Roll, White Dragon Roll, and Spicy Tuna Rice Cake were all delicious and left me thoroughly satisfied. The service was top-notch, although the waiting time for a table was longer than expected. Despite this minor setback, I would recommend Sushi World to sushi enthusiasts looking for a memorable dining experience.
Dumpling Empire
216 Cypress Ave, South San Francisco, CA 94080, United States
Two years ago, this place was very good and we would always have to wait outside for 10-15 minutes, then we noticed people we no longer going and the food was not as good. For example the dumpling skins started getting thicker, and the spicy beef tendon, usually cut very thin, was getting thicker. Still the service was OK, and the food still tasted pretty good.Well we just went back there for the first time in 6 months. It was 8PM and pretty busy. A couple of 4 that came after us got to order first. It took about 20 minutes before we got to order (for the 3 of us).We ordered Shoa Long Bao and were told they were out. That is one of their specialties and they were out at 8PM.. I wish they at least would have told us that when they gave us the menu.Anyways, we also ordered the thin spicy tendons, and were later told they were out of that too. A little while later the aforementioned table was getting served a huge place of spicy tendon. It took a long time to get everything out for that table and we were served nothing. Finally, 20 minutes after we ordered, we received 1 out of three dishes. Then another table that came after us started getting served and got two dishes, including one that we had ordered but had not yet received. We did not get the 2nd dish until we finished the first, and a did not get the third until after we finished eating the second. Meanwhile, yet another table that had come in 40 minutes after us started to get all their food served less than 10 minutes after they ordered. All of their dishes came to them right after we received our last dish.So we never got to try their specialties but I can only guess that they must be very good again due crowded atmosphere. I think a dumpling restaurant gets a pass on other items if their specialties are very good. But the dumplings that we ordered were doughy and chewy. Not good for a dumpling house. And their service for us was pretty bad and were never received any apologies. My wife gave a 10% tip. I wanted to leave 99 cents to make sure that they knew that we were not pleased. Well I am still fuming and writing this instead of leaving a small tip.
TERI-GO Teriyaki
6916 Katella Ave, Cypress, CA 90630, United States
Called in my order before hand, said what I wanted and the lady took my order and hung up on me… thought maybe bad connection or just rude? Nope I get there and yes in fact she was just plain rude. Told lady at front my order and she starts bagging it up and I asked if green onion in it like I asked over the phone and of course there wasn't. Takes out food from bag aggressively and tosses the bowl on counter to worker in back to put some in. Bags it and quickly tells me sauce and hot sauce in bag and walks away before I can check the bag… so of course condiments are small containers so I say “Excuse me” and she doesn't come back and guy comes to me and I ask for more and Got the rudest eyeroll and I say thanks and he just walks away. Horrible customer service. Will never go there again. Chicken was good, only reason I gave one star.
