Dirty bathroom, table was very sticky, food was super salty and warm not hot, main eating floors were dirty and had food debris on everywhere. Our server and host were very friendly and accommodating but the food was extremely mediocre for the price. This place use to be great but now they need some serious attention.

Absolute favorite Asian fusion restaurant. We prefer the fountain valley location. The interior is beautiful with umbrellas hanging from the roof and a relaxing interior. The sushi bar is delicious and you can watch sports and enjoy your drink.The menu was created to be healthy with less salt and gluten-free options.Everyone had a different meal- kung pao chicken, chow mein, spring rolls, hot and sour soup, yum 😋The staff is friendly and it’s good fast service.

Best orange chicken, with a nice flavorful rich sauce. Mongolian Beef was lacking flavor and needed a hit of soy sauce. The fried rice also needed soy sauce. The egg roll was unimpressive and tiny. The egg flower soup and the hot sour soup were excellent with rich flavors.

Do not send back food here...You know that little feeling that you get when you think someone has messed with your food after sending back...To-go food here is not only missing love, but missing edibleness as well. We got a lunch special to go and even paid the extreme inflated amount of $5 extra for a cup of hot and sour soup that usually is served for free with the lunch specials for dine-in.... acceptable, I guess.We added broccoli to an orange chicken meal and it was not only rubbery, but could have passed as chicken gum. We asked for an addition of broccoli when we ordered. The two itsy bitsy pieces of broccoli charged a huge hugey amount, and I mean itsy...less than one bite of broccoli.We drove ten minutes back to get a replacement after an extremely abrasive and rude individual answered the phone. With so much attitude, it was weird when we asked for a fresh soup, he almost jumped up with excitement. Weird and doesnt make me feel comfy when I went to taste the soup and the top part of the hot and sour was just warm, and the rest scalding hot.... Could someone have put an additional topping on my soup? I believe the answer to this is yes. This is the third and last time I will be coming here, and I am glad I am a Google reviewer to expose these kinds of restaurants to the rest of Orange county.

We use to frequent FC precovid for special family events. Its been awhile but today we had lunch and were quite annoyed by dirty glass front doors, debris on entrance floors, stains on face of reception counter, and cracked wood ceiling decor. As they just opened hour earlier, location did not seem sanitary. We were seated and menus provided. The table was sticky and menus were not clean feeling. Service was acceptable but the food quality was not what I remembered. Pad Thai was soupy and not even close to proper spiced flavor. The Lomein, shrimp, tofu and fish dishes were generic tasting with small plate portions. Sadly disappointed.Adams Review two months ago stated location was shabby. No improvement and reviews are apparently not reviewed by manager.

Beautiful restaurant With a very nice ceiling display.. My dining companions were A diverse group of Asian women and 2 caucasian/Americans. Of the six, the two Caucasian liked the food. We others found it bland, dripping in sauce and barely edible. I know that 4 of us wont go back. The other two love it. We prefer Seafood Cove 2 in Westminster.

This place was trash for the price. I came here expecting a good meal. I had the yellowtail citrus sushi and one crunchy roll. The only good part of either of those rolls was the yellowtail topper. We ordered crab cream cheese wontons, they were 99% cream cheese. We also ordered the crispy orange chicken(the best thing this place had to order besides the water), the Szechuan beef, and house lo mein noodles. Everything here was flavorless and disappointing. Our bill came out to $70- the kind of bill I would expect for delicious food. Well, better luck next restaurant. Dont waste your time. If you have a go-to Chinese restaurant, please go there instead.Our server was great, friendly young girl who was prompt and attentive. Definitely the star of the meal

This place was pretty good, I had it a long time a go when they first opened and my grandma and I decided to give it another try. We ordered the tempura veggies and a few dishes. The tempura was pretty good but a little soft. The real star was the chefs special beef. It was tender and delicious. I would highly recommend this place for that alone. The inside was also cute but needed some sprucing up. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions in a very kind and knowledgable way that made us very comfortable

A friend ordered food to be delivered for us and ordered extra for other meals and what we ate last night was not good at all. The sushi rolls were not fresh. The beef and broccoli, beef was tough like beef jerky same with the beef in the fried rice. Called Fountain Valley location to complain because we go there all the time and have never had an issue. Because the food was ordered through door dash the person that answered the phone would do Nothing! I said well you have now lost loyal customers and he hung up on me ! Really bad customer service. Very disappointed.

I agreed with my daughter to revisit Fortune Cookie Restaurant the other day-- its been over 1-1/2 years. Very few people dining for lunch. The food was okay but the restaurant was looking shabby and not vacuumed after prior customers had eaten at our table. I always wonder why they would seat you next to another group when an entire center area was vacant. Should have asked for another table. The server was very pleasant but it seemed she was tired. I will go again in the next couple of months to see if its improved from this visit.

Plates and table were dirty, then my son and me had the use the restroom. Never ever seen one that bad, urinal hasn’t been cleaned in months or toilets. Black ring around toilet bowls. Makes me really wonder how the cook area looks. Won’t be eating here ever again, can’t trust the food after seeing how filthy the customer seating area and bathrooms are.

I discovered this yummy new(er) restaurant a year or two after they opened in the early 2010s. This location is their original; they have since expanded to add two new locations. Garlic shrimp is very hard to come by in Chinese restaurants, but the variety of it served here is not excessively spicy and elaborately garnished with fine Asian vegetables. As I recall, the dining room décor here is bordering on a fine dining establishment. When I am able to dine-in here again, I will update my review on the bike parking situation as Ill be getting here on my electric bike.

Finally went to Fortune Cookies and not at all disappointed, the food was so so good and very fair prices. We had orange chicken, pungent shrimp and house special chop suey. The only complaint was that it was so cold in there the food didnt stay hot and we couldnt get sushi because the chef was on break!! Really!! But otherwise very good!!

One of my favorite Asian fusion eateries around. Lunch is a fantastic bargain, however the asiatic mule in me must capitalize on the concept of having extremely competent Chinese recipes alongside some absolutely munchable sushi pieces, every time I enter the establishment. The food was good, but the service gets negative stars. There were 6 of us at dinner. We waited a while after ordering for the food to come. Only one of us got food and a bowl of rice.. It was about 20 minutes later that we were finally able to get someones attention and ask about the rest. The rice was cold by then and it was another 10 minutes before 4 more dishes came out. About 15 minutes later the final order was brought. This is not what I consider acceptable for any restaurant. My husband liked his food enough to want to go back. The horrible service ruined it for me.

Pretty good kung pao shrimp. Clearly a Chinese restaurant that caters to White folks (Im White). You get a single dish, served as an entree, forks (chopsticks on request), and no condiments offered like chili oil or Chinese mustard. All things considered, Ill continue to prefer going to Westminster, LA or San Gabriel for more authentic Chinese.Good service and atmosphere. Not crowded but it was 6pm on a Thursday.

Always love the lunch specials here. Tried multiple dishes and they do not disappoint! All the waiters weve had have been kind, attentive and on the ball. The only thing I didnt like that I tried today for the first time was the fried rice. It was dry and parts of it were white rice chunks! All in all, we love it here. 💕😋

I have been coming here for years. The food is delicious and the service is always top notch. My family has a mix of picky eaters, a few that have food restrictions and some of us are vegans. Fortune Cookies has a great selection for all of us! Im not just talking a dish or two, but several. My nephew was recently told he has an allergy to gluten. This place has a page on their menu dedicated to gluten free plates! Its also affordable. We celebrate birthdays, graduations and sometimes just a dinner out. Our parties are always 15+. Ive never had an issue calling ahead to reserve our table. I cant say enough positive things about this restaurant. Im a huge fan!

I go to this location quite often with my family, friends and especially my boyfriend and we absolutely love it! The food is great, especially their sushi (the Firecracker Roll is AWESOME). Their prices are pretty good and the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and tranquil, cant complain. One other thing that makes this a great place is the friendly service. The waitresses, waiters and hostesses are truly very professional and kind. The only reason I didnt give them a five star rating was because they dont have any desserts on their menu and I think they should! In my opinion, this is definitely a place you and your family should try, trust me you wont regret it!!! 🤗

Ate here last night. Been here many times. Food quality has gone down. Had Tropical roll. Barely any sauce on roll. Not much on flavor. Very disappointing. Also had their chef specialty orange beef. Had so many hot peppers in the dish to make it look larger than it really was. Also served luke warm. They were not busy. So you would think they could at least serve it hot. Also, they have changed their fried noodle appetizer that they give you when you first come in. Cheaper quality. No taste and they have watered down the red sauce they serve with it. Being cheap about everything. Will not return.

Our food arrived and my son could not stop criticizing all the dishes.1. All dishes are soy based. Tan Mei sauce that is sweet and salty.2. Carrots are all cut in various shapes within a dish.3. Our regular Asian restaurant had gone out of business and we were looking for a new one when we received a menu from Fortune Cookie restaurant in the mail. We decided to give them a try and were very pleased. They have a large selection of Japanese and Thai dishes from which to choose. We went with Walnut Shrimp and Chicken Chop Suey, both were very tasty. We received excellent service from our waiter Adrian and enjoyed the comfortable ambiance of the restaurant. We will return.

Although not the most authentic, this is a great alternative for some healthier Chinese options, they also serve decent sushi. Love the kung Pao, sweet and spicy soup, and the sizzling rice soup is wonderful when youre feeling under the weather! Service has also always been exceptional.

The flavor of the food is excellent and they give you generous portions. They use only white meat in the Orange Chicken which is amazing. I am a regular luncheon guest. The lunch specials here are great!! Soup, salad, eggroll and rice with every entree and its all freshly made to order. For under $10 it really cant be beat. Its my favorite egg flower soup around, I love the crunchy water chestnuts. My sons favorite dish is the crispy orange chicken, while I prefer the chop suey and Buddhas delight.

The quality keeps going down every time we order. 2 years ago this place was great, tonight i had the Kung Pao beef and it was pretty bland and chewy. I tried the Sweet and Sour Chicken my wife ordered but they didnt send any sweet and sour sauce or any spicy mustard.I am pissed I gave the driver a $10 dollar tip, I would have preferred to light it on fire in retrospect.

Have been here many times and never disappointed...that being said my daughter in law was recently diagnosed with Celiacs Disease...where no Gluten is actually an issue. The Gluten free menu is awesome but much to my surprise, soy sauce has gluten in it. We were told that the restaurant did not have Tamari as a substitute. This will NOT discourage us from going again but we will bring our own...that is a small but important detail.

Food is good quality but bland.Seems like everything needed soy sauce or salt and pepper.The price is higher then your everyday Chinese smorgasbord restaurant.I prefer when a restaurant has the full meals made for a party/family of 2, 4, 5, etc... example: party of two you get soup, rice or noodle, paper wrap chicken with your choice of entree.This is old school where they serve you a meal and not just 1-entree and everything else is additional cost.

Hai, was the hostess told us the wait was going to be 15mins. As the evening went on she came iver twice to tell us that please be done by a certain time.. If hai knew that before seating us that was going to be a problem why didnt she say that in the first place. We would have gone somewhere else. The waitressthat waited on us also gave us attitude only to find out later. Why she had a problem with our table was because she had finals and wanted to go home early. All could have been prevented had the told us up front in the beginning. Very poor service.

We were very disappointed in the outcome. When we sent the dishes back there was no apology or a lick of surprised that we didn’t like it. I love the Jasmine tea (and its great that it IS JASMINE TEA) sometimes they (other restaurants) say yes we have it and its not when they bring it to the table. We have been going there for about a year. I should actually say around the time that they opened. Back then I would given it five stars. The quality has gone down the last six months. By example he had sushi the other day in the rice was not fully cooked. on the flipside the Filet was incredible last time. I hope they can fix the quality as we really like the environment and the people that work there.

Visited this place a few weeks ago and the food was delicious. Went again last night, 6/23, and was so disappointed. The Wor wonton soup was tasteless and the wontons were just soggy lumps with no filling, the chicken was also tough and undercooked. We ordered the house special chop suey, big mistake, it was just huge lumps of tasteless chicken and the beef was inedible, so tough we just had to spit it out and leave it on the plate, Unfortunately the special lo mein was the same. No finesse, no flavor. Disgusting. Very, very disappointed and will not be going again. Different chef maybe??

Today was my first time going to this establishment. I have celiac disease and was very excited to come here as it is known as a health conscious place that offers a variety of gluten free foods. On the menu there is a gluten free page and I ordered a meal from it and when given my options of sides I was asked if I wanted white or brown rice. I asked if I could have fried rice as that is an option on the gluten free menu. I was told I could not because the regular fried rice is left out all day and just scooped up to serve as a side (gross) and if I wanted gluten free rice they would have to actually cook it (heaven forbid) and would be charging me $7. I asked the manager and was told this is policy and there is no way I could have only a side of fried rice regardless of having celiac. Advertising as a health conscious establishment while doing nothing to help those who need to eat healthy is false advertising.

We get take out from here all the time, but todays $40 meal was horrible. The rice on the California rolls was dry and there was very little crab meat. The Sweet and sour Chicken had maybe 8 or 9 very small pieces of chicken. After eating the chicken pieces and pineapple, the tray was still more than 3/4 full of bell peppers, carrots and onions. The Sha Cha Chicken sauce was okay, but the chicken was tough and had a weird unpleasant flavor. The rice that came with the main courses was also dry and under-cooked. I think were done with this place. Its way too expensive to risk having that much go wrong in one evenings meal.

Weve always enjoyed Fortune Cookies in the past, and this was the first time since Covid-19 that weve eaten here.
