Arrived late to Monterey and kids didnt want to go out. We wanted Chinese and ordered here.Wasnt expecting much. But when we opened up the chow mein, great smell. And the flavor matched the smell. One of the better chow meins Ive had.Walnut shrimp was good. What you would expect.Salt and pepper pork was so so. The flavor was missing some few things, all I tasted was salt and white pepper.What we had overall was great. Maybe we need to dine in and try other food next time.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Monterey County. 1 or 2-star reviews have absolutely no idea what they’re talking a out. Going here with my girlfriend has always been an absolute pleasure. It’s affordable, good for takeout, and the dine-in is just perfect. This restaurant comes with some of the most unique dishes, ranging from Mandarin shrimp to cold spicy noodles. Definitely recommend anything with their mandarin sauce and the traditional dishes they offer.

Ordered chicken broccoli to go. I really need to remember to ask about whether a dish includes rice because this one didnt and it would have tasted so much better if it had been paired with rice. That being said, the meal was delicious. The meat was stir-fried in a rich, savory garlic sauce and the broccoli and chestnuts were crisp and fresh.

Food was hot and fresh, the house fried rice had way more rice, carrots and peas than meat and had only one shrimp, not as filling as it shouldve been. The other menu options may be more filling that wont leave you still hungry. Was not impressed the food was just okay nothing to write home about.

Amazing food! Great staff. And absolutely amazing service. The staff was nice enough to make veggie version of their chicken dishes with tofu. And I loved every bite of it. They can also make Dan Dan noodles vegetarian. Definitely ask for that next time you are there

So so good. That’s a bummer. I should have been there earlier. It was my last day in Monterey. I definitely recommend this restaurant. I tried fried rice and kung pao beef. They were delicious. If you’re asian and miss your hometown food, try it. It’s so good. As a korean, I was 100% satisfied with their food.

An amazing selection for lunch specials if you work in the downtown area and you need a quick bite don’t overlook this great restaurant. They’re open for lunch in tutoring and they do do catering. THEIR WON TON SOUP CURED MY SICKNESS. After a day walking around Monterey, I felt like I was starting to get sick. I had a headache, achy, and had the start of a sore throat. My husband got us food from this place, and not only was the soup delicious, but I swear it cured my pending illness.

The food was very authentic and delicious, I couldn’t stop eating. I’m not kidding. I ate the entire table and the restaurant too. Okay, but genuinely, it was SO good. I regret that I forgot to get dessert to go because I was so stuffed. I actually would go back just to get the dessert if I could. The egg and tomato soup, I would not recommend, but I would recommend everything else that I ordered, which was 9 different dishes. The restaurant was clean and the bathroom scared me a little because it was so dark. Asides from the food and environment, the service was great, and, in accordance, I tipped a lot. I unfortunately forgot to take photos, but I recommend this place!

The spicy chicken (Chongqing Chicken) with chilli was phenomenal. So much flavor depth. I also loved the cashew chicken, I highly recommend it if you are looking for a non spicy dish. The beef broccoli was also great. Everything was fresh to order. I would Monterey for this place.

Food was good. 3 stars for the abysmal amount of chicken and beef found in our meals. We ordered Mongolian beef, but got practically Mongolian mushroom. Our sesame chicken we arent even sure if it was that, but was good at least, mainly just a salad with chicken in it.Please, add more meat.

If you enter this restaurant hungry, you will walk out hungry. They do not give you a reasonable amount of food for the price they charge. The beef dishes are not too good, it sort of has a weird smell. The wonton soup is really good. They changed the hours. Lunch Friday and Saturday only.

If you like Panda Express or the usual Chinese buffet, you will love this place. However, I was beyond disappointment after some Chinese friends told me that this place was authentic. Maybe they have different recipes to serve the takeout crowd than they would serve you if you showed up in person and spoke Chinese? Just like most American-Chinese food, every flavor was dialed down except for sweet. Dishes that shouldnt have a speck of sugar in them tasted sweet. We tried the Yuxiang Rosi, Hot and Sour Soup, Hongyou Chaoshou, and Shuizhu Yu. The Shuizhu Yu was the closest to what we expected. The fish was fried, the soup was too thick, and there was obviously sugar added, but it wasnt bad. It was hard to determine whether the Yuxiang Rosi (almost all onions) or the Hot and Sour Soup (my 0% Asian mom makes better) was worse. If you know what Chinese food is supposed to taste like and you are desperate enough to pay the prices at this place, just drive to San Jose.

I cant describe how much I love the food here. Many Sichuan style restaurants cant find the balance of oil and spiciness. However, Full moon finds the right balance for me. On top of that, the barbeque pork fried rice here is the best in the world (at least the world I have been living for 34 years). The aroma, the right balance for sweetness for bbq port and saltiness of seasoning, and huge portion! Other recommended dishes are triple beef, cumin lamb, any spicy dish like fried chicken. Spicy fish and tofu is also a great option to balance the heavy meat out. It is the place you shouldnt overlook.

Amazing lamb dish with cumin and a side of green beans! We had been looking for an authentic Chinese restaurant, and this is it. Memorable food. Jack made the spicy dish slightly less spicy for me so it was just perfect. Jack and Angela are trying so hard to recover from the pandemic. They can’t get help, so they’re sticking with takeout boxes and paper plates for now, but that in no way diminished the wonderful dishes coming out of that kitchen!

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the world. I lived in Monterey from 2005 to 2007, and ate here almost weekly. Service was always good, and the food was spectactular. I went back and visited in 2010, and the owners still remembered my name, as well as my favorite dish: the mongolian beef with a side of spicy mustards sauce. I also like the kung pao chicken and the egg drop soup. If you like Chinese food, youll love Full Moon.

We ordered later in the evening right before closing. Usually..when youre the last one of the night to order food..its generally not so fresh. However..that was absolutely NOT the case here. The food was delicious and fresh and served with an amazing smile. We got the sesame chicken, shrimp fried rice, and dumplings (which are to die for), and we are 100% coming back to dine. I ordered the wor wanton soup with noodles.The waiter asked me why? I told him back in San Francisco where I eat Chinese food 8 days a week that I always ordered won ton noodle soup.So I said OK hold the noodles. I did not say hold the flavor. This is a Sichuan cuisin restaurant that started out with some authenticity several years ago, but now is just another generic Americanized Chinese restaurant in California.I have been going there on a regular basis since they opened several years ago and had been quite satisfied with their Szechuan dishes. They were moderately spicy and numbing. The Sichuan flavors used to pop and overwhelm taste buds. In the last couple years however, I noticed the dishes have evolved to be a bit sweeter, more salty, and much less spicy and essentially no peppercirn numbing flavour classically associated with Sichuan cuisine.To people familiar with different regional cuisines of China, the Sichuan influence is still there, but to the average non Chinese customer, this is just another Chinese restaurant serving excessively salty and oily food. Yes, excessively salty.The restaurant has lost its original flavors. The chillies and numbing peppercorns that are the essence of Sichuan cuisine are gone. This restaurant has succumb to the average, generic, uncharacteristic taste buds and is unfortunately just another mediocre restaurant on Alvarado street in Monterey.

Ive been here a couple of times after teaching and always liked it. My students turned me on to the place. The last time I went with one of them and she chatted with the chef. She came with a party of 6 a few months ago and the food was horrendous. To top it off, the workers were the most disrespectful staff to ever come across in my entire life.My mother was paying the bill and had left a $0 tip on the receipt as she was going to be tipping in cash on the table. The manager comes back with our receipt and heckles them in front of the whole restaurant speaking down on our family saying Did you not know that it is California law to leave a tip? But what really set them apart was the wonderful service.We had egg rolls, eggplant and garlic sauce, bok choy and mushrooms and the pumpkin croquettes. Decided to give these highly reviewed establishments a try while in town for The Weeknd . Request for forks and napkins per special instructions option. While arriving I received a very cold response from cashier when picking up . When I attempted to address the the missing cutlery he did not look my way an was to busy speaking with another gentleman in the restaurant. At that point I decided to leave an purchase it from a near by gas station. FOOD : totaling $37 it consisted of two medium size generic take out boxes 1 sweet and sour chicken an one mixed chow mein the chicken was good not to dry but the chow mein was dull in color an lacking of flavor. A side of frozen Leche has to be the only reasonable prices an portioned item on there menu that I’d have again. Will not be on the list of places to return

We originally were going to go to a different place to eat and sadly we did not have a reservation. So we saw this cute place and decided to go in. We ended up going in and ordered chow mien, spicy eggplant, orange chicken and fried duck, it was the best Chinese Food we have ever had! Ordered a takeout through Yelp, for a plate of cashew nut chicken and wonton in spicy sauce.The menu showed 16 piece wonton in spicy sauce, and I guess there were around 16 single bite small size wontons. Soft and mouth watering, but I wouldn’t say it was spicy and lacked flavor.The cashew nut chicken was saucy and oily and there was enough curry for two. The noticeable thing was there was no rice with the order and we did really expect free rice (usually most Asian places have those).

The food is great, but the service is not so good. They take care of phone orders first and let you wait once finished (instead of saying to the caller can you hold on please). The prices are standard, but the food portions are smaller comparing with other restaurants, so if you plan for take home dont count on it :). Great Chinese food. If you like Sichuan food(spicy or not) you will not go anywhere else. They also have alot of familiar dishes that everyone knows and loves around the world. The chef has even been known to cook to order, and he has an extremely fine sense of taste for the Chinese Cuisine.Personally we asked for a more northern Chinese style of dish, and considering that the cooking style and flavor is very unique, and hard to reproduce, we were astounded when the food was uncannily reminiscent of a summer day in ChangQun. In other words, I inhaled it.He even did a Cantonese dish like it was their thing all along, I didnt even know it wasnt on the menu. I know Chinese food contains spice, but this meal in particular was overspiced. The dish also contained mostly bones and fat.. Hardly any meat.. Maybe cause its old. Wouldnt recommend this place.

So sad. Cooking doesnt have to be this lazy.The lunch menu Kung Pow Beef had one ingredient that had any food flavor; the peanuts. The beef took a while to chew through like a piece of gum that should have been spit out a hour ago. The Egg flower soup looked just like soup at first but quickly congealed into a cornstarch globule with the flavor of sock water. Great location and polite service. We were the only diners for lunch on a Thursday 11:45am to 12:30pm. Wonder why. Seems like they gave up on trying to impress anyone years ago.

The price of each plate was way over priced for the amount food they served.. Our food was cold when we got it.. When we didnt leave a tip we where chased down by two men saying we didnt pay our tip!! I thought this was crazy!!... After I told the guy tip is not mandatory, he very rudely replied with well we dont have to serve you...Our check was $35 for something that was not worth it!! I will never come here again!! The food is excellent and our friends and relatives from China are always glad to visit the lovely women that run the restaurant for their warm hospitality and wonderful food.
