This influence is evident in some of their standout dishes, such as the Chinese cumin lamb hamburger, yangruo paomo (flatbread soaked in lamb soup), and succulent lamb kebabs. There was a bit of a wait for the food as the server was also the chef, but the house special rice noodles and all of its elements were fantastic. The rice noodles had a great chewy texture. The sliced beef was wonderfully marinated and aromatic. The chili crisp and flavoring oil was less spice and more smoky aroma (got the medium). The pickled green beans gave a nice refreshing lift. And the salted pork gave it an extra blast of savoriness that brought it all together. There are also lots of board games that are available to play while waiting for the food

Ocean Island dim sum offers the same products as any other dim sum place that offer push carts except less staff means the more you can save on the overall price. With that being said if you just want dim sum without the white cloth table setting and tea service then this is the place for you. You walk towards the back, look at the menu, on the bottom left of the pictured item you will see A or B. on the top right in green you will see the price for A and B… decide what you want, when its your turn they will let you know. If you are taking to go then come anytime but if you want good dim sum and a table remember early bird gets the worm!! If youre looking for Beijing / Northern Chinese style food, you should checkout Northern Cafe.All the noodles are handmade and hand-pulled. They even have a glass window just as you walk-in to watch the sous-chefs pull the noodles similar to what you see when you go to Din Tai Fung (DTF).They have everything from beijing meat pies to Xiao Long Boas (XLBs). While their XLBs arent the DTF quality the rest of their food is on point.The traditional lamb skewers are common street food items in Beijing and their rendition of it is just as good and probably slightly healthier.All their soups were tasty and the noodles were amazingly stretchy / bouncy to get that good handmade toothsomeness to each bite.We werent a big fan of the sesame bread since we were expecting something closer to Da Bing, but it came out more like a fried angle food cake looking thing that was mostly just bread-y.The potstickers are legit here where they come out as a beautifully spindly cluster that gives it that extra bit of crunch.For the other reviews that gave it a lower score because its not a cafe are simply lame. Its true, its not your regular boba tea cafe, but the place is modern and clean. Its a sit down casual restaurant with lots of space and good for parties up to 10.For a person who lives in the area and who has been to many restaurants in the area, Northern Cafe is a new go to.

It is very disappointed experience to eat at Kim Kee noodle cafe in Monterey park.1.I asked for a cup of hot water, till we finished our meal, the waitress did not bring it to me.2. Next table, a man has continued coughing and sneezing then he walked into the kitchen to get the paper containers and plastic bag for 3 times without his mask put on.3. We ordered 3 dishes, a congee has waited for 10 minutes, pork kidney dish for 15 minutes, the beef tender with rice for 25 minutes. I asked why waited for so long she indicated that the machine was broken????4. Bad service and narrow place so your table is very close to next table.

Its so outrageous. The tomato and egg noodles are not freshly made, what can I say.Because the noodles at this handmade noodle restaurant are delicious, we didn't say anything even if we had diarrhea after eating the Roujiamo many times. After all, the meat must be marinated in a big pot.I had just given birth to a baby and thought my husband was working too hard. He went out for a snack. I was afraid that my own food would be stale and I ordered tomato and egg noodles.This restaurant only has oil on it. I said no oil, just tomato and egg noodles, less salt.It turned out that the noodles were hot and the tomatoes and eggs were cold. Brothers... Ju Xian... And we were the only customers at the table. The boss saw that I was so weak that I was wearing a confinement hat and pushing a stroller... What happened? Something that kills ones conscience.........You have children at home, are they healthy? ? ? ? ? ?

DO NOT EAT HERE. I came here because previously the food was fairly ok and fairly cheap. Now they are under new management and the place has gone down significantly. Firstly, when the waiter asked us to please sit anywhere, we were not given menus. I had to go and grab menus for me and my girlfriend. The prices of everything had gone up, now the bowl of beef pho costs $12!?!?! Excuse me but better places sell them for $8-10! Regardless we ordered and got our food in a relatively short amount of time. The bowl looked good but after mixing the bowl, to my surprise, the broth was very mediocre. On top of that, they put your bean sprouts in the pho for you! I am someone who prefers not to have the bean sprouts in my pho and I did not know they put it in. No one else does that. The price of the pho is too high for what youre getting. The only reason Im giving 2 stars and not 1 star is that theyre having a promotional for opening under new management, $0.59 drinks.TLDR; Save your time, go down to Ocean for your pho.

There are so many chinese restaurants in Monterey park. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The kung Pow chicken was a soupy mess with no flavor. The chicken was boiled, not breaded and fried like the picture. The shredded pork soup had no pork in it and the handmade noodles were over cooked and clouded the broth when placed in the soup. Very disappointing. Also, everything was turned on it’s side when my girlfriend picked up the food. The mess they called kung psi spilled in the bag.

When you encounter a restaurant that serves Vietnamese AND Thai AND Chinese AND Japanese cuisine and is open until late at night, that should seriously raise some eyebrows regarding the quality and authenticity of the food. I dont care what you people say; I am sticking to my opinion on this one. I came here with a few friends at night. We waited around 20 minutes for us to get seated, and we waited another 15 minutes or so after being seated to place our orders. We ordered two orders of Spicy Pan Fried Noodles and one order of the garlic spare ribs.I know this is a restaurant that specializes (and I use that term VERY LOOSELY...) in noodle dishes, but the garlic spare ribs was seriously inedible. It was more gristle than anything; I ate about a third of my dish before disgust finally set in and I gave up eating it. The Spicy Pan Fried Noodles was mediocre at best, your choice of chicken or pork with a variety of vegetables such as tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, and peppers with a copious serving of oil. The only upside to this place is that the portion sizes are quite generous. But who wants to eat a large quantity of unsavory food?Not keen on returning here unless someone REALLY wants to eat here, and Id still try to talk them into eating elsewhere.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Monterey County. 1 or 2-star reviews have absolutely no idea what they’re talking a out. Going here with my girlfriend has always been an absolute pleasure. It’s affordable, good for takeout, and the dine-in is just perfect. This restaurant comes with some of the most unique dishes, ranging from Mandarin shrimp to cold spicy noodles. Definitely recommend anything with their mandarin sauce and the traditional dishes they offer.
