Ginkgo Katsu Bento in Garden Grove

The chicken katsu was the most fresh and high quality katsu I’ve ever had! It wasn’t overly greasy and the meat was tender instead of overcooked like at so many other places. The bento box was packaged with care by the sweet staff and I was surprised by how huge it was. You will definitely have leftovers! The only thing I didn’t like was the thai tea; it was too bitter for my taste but everything else was amazing and had the best presentation!

Price $18The menu was very striate forward and easy to follow. The place was very clean. The staff were very polite and helpful.Within 15-20 min my order was served, very fresh and hot in a beautiful nice box (see pictures).The fish was made both soft and crunchy. It tasted really good. The rice, sauce the salad tasted very good. The amount of salt/sodium in the food was just enough compared to American restaurants and food culture which are totally ignoring the amount of fat and sodium they add in their food and serve it to you which put you life and health on high risk!I also had a short conversation with the chef as I was very amazed over the quality, the taste of the food, the the excellent service!Total score: THE BEST!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Here are some pictures taken by me.

The purple rice is so delicious! Portions are generous and food is delicious. The bento box offers a variety of things such as kimbap, mini sides, takoyaki and egg.

This place is so delicious. High quality tender Katsu that isnt too greasy or made with substandard meat. The sides like purple rice and cabbage are fresh. Get a bento box and you can eat for two for $18. Everything has attention to detail, from the beautiful gingko takeout box to the freshness of their vegetables and the cleanliness of the restaurant. The price is also unbelievably good value for the large portion size. I hope the place gets a lot of business because it deserves all the accolades

My daughter found this by chance and we decided to try it based on the reviews. I am sooooo glad we did, the food and service was excellent!!Their Bento Box comes with a big variety which included Rice, takoyaki, tamago, pickled cucumber, cabbage salad, Gyoza, Edamame, a cute waffle treat and your choice of katsu meat along with salad dressing and katsu sauce.We did have to pay extra for a side of curry sauce which I wish was a little thicker and more traditional maybe with some carrots or potatoes, but good none-the-less.We also tried their Taiyaki, they have a choice of fillings and are made fresh. Overall, this is a great place for great food and would definitely recommend trying it. Nihongo shaberu as well!!

Small restaurant, more like Togo place. You can order from a machine. I only had the Taro milk tea, which I think tasted ok.

The Japanese Curry was amazing! The bento box is a good deal as well I will definitely come back here!

Food came out quick, and tasted even better! Great variety of food, from chicken katsu to tteokbokki to kimchi fried rice. My favorite is the shrimp crunch roll. Teresa provided exceptional customer service. Highly recommend this local business.

One of, if not the best katsu place I’ve been to. I love katsu, and this place blew me away. Good service and even better food. The quality of the food is very good. Would come back again.
