Cool place to have lunch. We stopped by around 3 pm and they were still serving luncheon plates. For $8.25 a plate, it’s a low price for a good amount of quality food.A sign by the door said this place has been open since 1983. If they continue this service and food quality, they would be open many more years.

They changes their menu or something..It was one of my favorite so called Chinese place but now they added bbq pork to their rice, chow mein and everything else and it is sooooo friggin gross...I will never order from there again...it is nasty...just warning ⚠️ u all. GROSS GROSS NASTY

I love the green bean chicken (I add mushrooms), egg drop & hot & sour soups, crab pockets, and pot stickers. They are VERY accommodating about changes. Thus is my go-to place for Chinese food.

Was feeling under the weather today and needed a cure for my cold... Golden Chinas Hot & Sour Soup did the trick. I am feeling better and the soup was delicious. A hint of sweet but very hot & sour; just the way mom used to order it back in the day.I recommend this soup if you arent feeling well. It will fix you right up!

We ordered food to go. Everything about the chow mein was excellent. The asparagus beef tasted great, but consisted of about 70% grilled onions. The shrimp fried rice tasted okay, but seemed to lack seasoning of any kind. The food was good quality, but some dishes were lacking in flavor.

If I could I would give 10 stars. Today was my first time ever in this place and I can just say. This is my new favorite spot in Turlock. The food is great, delicious and rich in flavor, the lady at the register is really amiable and efficient. It is clean and this place makes you feel welcome.

Love this restaurant. The location is ok. Not a bad area. But there are a lot of homeless people around. I dont mind that because I actually have helped the homeless since I was 14 years old. Anywho, the service is good and fast! Super friendly people/workers. Food is greatly priced and tastes very very good!! Its not my all time favorite, but it is my favorite in Turlock. I almost always get the egg flower soup, steamed white rice, foil chicken, egg roles(3), an order of pot stickers, and 2 large chow mein all for $40. Always fresh and always the same taste when I order. No matter the day or time I go! Which says a lot because Turlock has a very bad habit of being inconsistent everywhere I go. But not here. My son is 6 years old and a picky eater at the moment, he loves the egg roles and foil chicken with white rice. He also loves the lemon chicken, orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, and one of the shrimp platters. Highly recommend if youre in Turlock!

Just not the same anymore. First we went in at 5:30 pm, on a Saturday...it was quiet, only 3 tables and then us. Was greeted in an abrupt manner, not friendly, I asked for a menu to read, since their menu was under the glass table and I could not read it from the angle unless I had a neck like a giraffe. Then, we ordered what we have been ordering for years, but it tasted odd and had different ingredients. Asked for chopsticks ( which is strange since they did not have them on the tables-you had to ask). Then we had asked for hot tea which was not hot-it was warm, we had to flag our server down several times who was ignoring us as she was flying back and forth by our table. So, the bottom line is, poor service, poor food and not all like it was. Left me not wanting to come back.

My parents love this place and I just went with them for my second time. The food was very hot when it came to us and looked fresh. It had good flavor too. It looked like real Chinese food and not something that was frozen and microwaved. We ordered a number 1, 2, and 4 and my parents asked for a couple changes on theirs with no problem. They served us huge portions and I would have taken mine home but I live out of town. Yes, the place could use some remodeling but it looked clean. They were very nice people and had good service. We came in on a Tuesday afternoon, so it wasnt too full. Im not sure why others had complaints about this place. I would definitely come again.

If you love Egg Fu Young, do not order it here. Premade patties are the worst way to go! This has got to be the very worst dish here. The broccoli beef was delicious, the wontons and noodles are also very tasty. I wont be back.

My family has been eating at Golden China for 4 decades!The food is ALWAYS excellent, takeaway orders are always correct, the food piping hot, and the staff is always courteous.My favorite items are the wor wonton soup, hot & sour soup, moo shu vegetable, honey walnut prawns, and broccoli beef. But the truth is all of the food is delicious, you can’t pick a loser.

We were passing through town and looking for a place to eat. We decided on Golden China and were delighted with everything we ordered from the egg drop soup to garlic ginger chicken, pork fried rice and cream cheese wontons. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for their delicious food and plan to return the next time we are in the area

Food was decent, tho a bit lacking in that extra oomph I hope for in a Chinese restaurant. That may mean they do not use MSG, which would be a good thing I suppose, tho I really do not know one way or the other. I took the food to go, and they have a very good system set up as we make our way thru this Covid Plandemic. Nearly everyone everyone at my house ate and of them, most said it was delicious!

If you want greasy mediocre Chinese food this is your place. My kids enjoyed their fried rice and egg flower soup. We ordered the number 2 and number 7 from the lunch/dinner menu. The chicken with vegetables wasnt that great, the noodles were greasy. We did like the ginger garlic chicken. So that was the difference that made me give them 3 stars instead of 2. The service was good and we didnt wait long for the food.

First time walking in with my friend. We ordered the won won ton soup whatever its called. The smell of the chicken uncooked was so bad that I had to add so much spice into it to be able to eat it. The owner started to fight with her worker which I found unpeacful and disturbing. We couldnt even enjoy our food she was so loud. I asked for water with easy ice I got no ice. Then asked the worker for easy ice again and she brought it back full of ice...lack of understanding or hearing. The curry chicken was okay..the chicken didnt smell as bad because of the curry flavoring. I dont think well go back again..because they food wasnt as good. It tasted as if the food was placed in maccrowave 😕👎but to be honest they did check up on us a few times so I guess that they passed.

Very fresh! We tried several dishes. The vegetables in the wonton soup has a slight crunch, the shrimp was also very fresh, was nicely deveined and NOT chewy or overcooked. The lemon chicken glaze was not heavy, sugary or greasy as other places weve tried but a light and sprightly lemon. The mini egg rolls were very crunchy but the vegetables inside not overcooked or oily. We recommend their house chow mein. There was more meat and vegetables than noodles with crushed garlic too. Good portions, attentive staff. Fast service.

If it were possible to give negative stars I would. I seen this place while shopping at save mart and I decided to go in. First of all the place is very run down and, the woman that seated me was rude beyond belief. I almost had to snap my fingers to get attention. When she seated me, she tossed the menu on the table like I was an enemy from high school. I overlooked that. Then she brought me a glass of tap water with very little ice in it. I finally ordered the pork lo-main. It was Luke warm just like the tap water and tasted pretty much like a microwaveable frozen dinner from the supermarket. Before I could finish it, I went to the rest room. I couldnt believe what I seen. There were roaches crawling in the trashcan and a few on the cracks on the ceiling. I was so disgusted I suggested to the woman (I think it was the owner) that she should consider closing this restaurant due to health reasons. She was, just like her waitress, very rude and told me to take my business elsewhere. I will call the board of health. But, in the meantime, buyer beware.

Let me make sure Im clear about this: MONGOLIAN BEEF. It is absolutely the most different mongolian beef Ive ever had, but its the most divine chinese meal Ive ever had...Its red, comes with these styrofoam crispy noodle thingies on top (which are awesome with it, by the way. I think theyre made of rice noodles, fried.).Order it extra spicy (its not THAT hot), and its phenomenal. Ive had other dishes here and they were pretty good, but this mongolian beef was outstanding. As a matter of fact, I get cravings for it. hahaha!I highly recommend checking this place out, but make sure you order the mongolian beef at least once!!

Golden China has been a constant in my life since I was a wee boy back before the internet existed. It used to be the only Chinese restaurant in Turlock, so there were obvious few other options. The food has always been A-OK. Its nothing special, but it does satisfy the requirements of typical Chinese restaurant cuisine. Be warned, the chow mein is a little on the greasy side.They also used to give out free scratcher lotto tickets with to go orders. I havent received one in a while though, so they either discontinued the practice or I havent ordered enough to earn one.

Didnt know China cafe closed on geer rd and I called there old # and I got Golden China food taste good just used to China Cafe portions maybe the to go box was nowhere near as much as China Cafe it was still good so only reason why Im giving it for starters and not five and when I asked for sweet& sour over the fryed rice that what I got I WILL definitely tell people about them and will be a repeat customer

We usually cook at home by ourselves, and we are picky about what we eat, but the Yangzhou fried rice and fried rice noodles here are so authentic❗️My son loves the lemon shrimp!
