Korean food done very well with large portions! Only negative : I dont like scan for menus. The beef bulgobi and the pork belly are great! Normally at an Asian restaurant the starter soup is something tossed in BUT here the potato soup stands out! I will order it as stand alone next time I want to go soup!

Bolgogi is abundant, but WAY too sweet. This is my second time eating it. I could barely force myself to eat 10% of it. I verified with my wife this second time, and she concurs. HOWEVER, the fish pancake is much better than most Korean restaurants here in the valley. The Sundubu is huge and quite good. I would definitely recommend both those. The Banchan was also good but not particularly abundant. The meat was the big disappointment. The Saengenseon jeon or fish pancake almost would make me change my mind if the meat wasnt so sugary or strupy sweet and the kimchi and other Banchan were more abundant.

I came here from the recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint. The service is great everyone is friendly and educated me on the menu :)The banchan is yummy and they refill if you ask. We got the vegetable pancake to share and I got a mushroom bibimbap. Would definitely come back. Love the array of sauce options.

The Boolgogi Bibimbab Hot Pot was delicious, and absolutely satisfying.The tender beef was sliced thin, and it was seasoned perfectly. There was enough of everything, Beef, Rice, and stir fry vegetables, for two meals.I almost forgot to mention that it comes with the Korean Banchan, which are vegetable side dishes. I got what I believe to be the Seasoned Bean Sprouts, Spicy Radish Salad, Traditional Kimchi, and one more I now forget what it was. Great sizes, taste, and selection. WOW!I was glad to discover this little gem, thanks to other great reviews, just a mile from my home.I will absolutely drop by here again to try some (new to me) Korean comfort food.

I’ve had delivery from Grandma Kim’s several times and it was excellent! This was my first time at the actual restaurant and it was even better. Great food, friendly, happy service and generous portions. I’m going back in a couple of weeks with my wife and some friends!

Im a US-born Korean and very skeptical of all Korean restaurants, but this place was the real deal. The ramen was real Korean ramen, spicy and delish (though very different than Japanese, the noodles are actually instant I think but its still awesome and just like you get in Korea). The LA galbi was a real surprise - the meat was so tender I dont think Ive had it like that before. Bibambap, mandoo, and banchan were all solid too! Cant wait to go back and try the other dishes. This was the worst Korean food I have ever had in my life and I consider myself a Korean food junky. The kimchi and side dishes were just truly disgusting and unedible as well. Super unfriendly waitress, and bad food, and overpriced, just ruined my entire day. Unfortunately I will never go back, and I dont recommend this place. People who give this place five stars either have never tasted authentic Korean food, or just dont know Korean food period.

This neighborhood spot has been here on Topanga for awhile now. If you want to drown in meat AYCE style then you have to go further down Devonshire to Gen-Korean or wait for the Galbi/Pinball joint opens in West Hills next year. (Fallbrook/Vanowen) should be interesting and its nice to have a little choice in the West Hills, Chatsworth area.Grandma Kim is great for someone that want to get Korean BBq and Tofu and not feel God Awful Bloated afterwards. I had the dinner combo LA Galbi with the tofu hotpot. Combined with the modest amount of bonchon side dishes (no where near as many you would get from Shik Do Rak) it will fill you just quite nicely.

This was the worst Korean I’ve had in a while. The rice was cooked to mush, and the Korean side dishes were inedible. The kimchi and bean sprouts in particular had a concerning taste, so much so I fully expect to get sick later just from the one bite I had. The meat was okay. That’s it. Just okay. Hard to believe this restaurant has a 4.8 and over 1,400 reviews on Doordash.

Sweet service. Great food. I went with two other people. We ordered tofu hot pot, vegetable pancakes, pork short ribs, and bulgogi pork glass noodle soup. I love the pancakes and so did the others. I tried the shorts ribs and I am not one for pork but I love the flavor. My friend thought her glass noodle soup was good. The sides were good too! Def a family cozy mom and pop feel to it.

Its decent Korean food, but not outstanding. The service is adequate. Ive yet to find Korean food in the LA area as good as what I had when I lived in Chicago. I could say the same for the pizza. In fact, they only food that is better here is Sushi, but I am sure Chicago has upgraded their Sushi since I left it back in 2001.

I used to be a regular at Grandma Kims. It seems like over the years, they have increased their prices and reduced their portions.$17.99 is a bit much for bimbimbap served with too much rice and very few of the other items. Even when ordering 4 entrées, they only give you enough banchan for 2 persons.I hope they will consider decreasing their prices or increasing their non-rice portions.

The food is alright, but not really worth the price. The atmosphere is rather open, quiet, and serene. The wait staff is patient and friendly. The food is in large portions, so I recommend ordering a few and sharing them with your group. If you have a loud group then I dont recommend this location. Its good for a quiet lunch or dinner for a small group or family.

The food here is always delicious and the portions are huge. My favorite thing is the bulgogi ramen. Its wonderfully spicy and packed full of tasty noodles, meat, and veggies. They serve lots of side dishes and everything is above average in quality and taste. I highly recommend. Just make sure to come with an empty tummy so you can fit all the tasty food!

I need to condense my review due to time constraints. I ordered a meal from the menu that came with all the mini dishes served with Korean Food. The server informed ne that they can be refilled once. For a place with ‘Grandma’ in their name, the staff were stoic and cold. Not a single smile. Food was mediocre to bad and way overpriced for overly sweet bulgogi with no other characteristic flavor, spicy squid without umami, and greasy dumplings. I can make better food at home. I was very embarrassed to bring my coworkers here to show my heritage as a Korean person. Not at all recommended.

Came here for lunch on a late Saturday after noon and they have delicious Korean BBQ but the restaurant is a bit dated and it was completely empty when we got there. We ordered the BBQ combos which came with banchans like Kim chi, potato salad, pickled radishes, soy sprouts and pancake along with potato soup and rice. My combo selection comes with tofu soup. Since we were famished we ate almost all of the banchans before our BBQ arrived, the sizzling sound and smell of BBQ meat opened up our appetite again and before we knew it, everything was gone.Price wise is a little on the higher end, portions are big because of the banchan, and you could get them refilled! We used a coupon and it was totally worth it, we just needed to sit still after that. Hostess was also nice but doesnt speak much English

You know how Grandma cooks such delicious comfort food? Well thats exactly what you get here. Delicious, home made Korean food.My wife and I split a BBQ combo, half spicy pork, half LA short ribs (my personal favorite). The meats were cooked perfectly and of course, you cant forget about all the sides! I have been eating here since it was named H.S. Kims restaurant. The food is fairly good, but better when eaten in the restaurant than taken out. The banchan is decent, but never seems to vary. Of it, Id say the kimchi is the best, though the taste varies from time to time. The soups arent particularly great in my opinion, but the bbq..pork, chicken and beef is pretty good. The bibinbap is decent. The downside to this place is the pricing. Expect to spend around $50 for a couple dinners with an appetizer or drinks. Thats a bit much. Service is adequate, it is family run.

Both times my friends and I visited, we got roasted repeatedly by the dad. It was hilarious and we felt so cozy and at home. More so, the food was AMAZING. I got the bbq/side combo thing both times. This place is my hands-down fall-back place if Im craving Korean food nearby. I had the pleasure of being the foodie sherpa for a few close friends who have frequented only AYCE Korean barbecue places. I told them that this place is not AYCE, but the quality of the meat and service is much better. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and they remember you next time you come back. Within 10 minutes, this became my friends favorite Korean restaurant.The typical Korean BBQ dishes like Bulgogi and Kalbi are very flavorful, but the favorite has to be the spicy barbecue pork and the tofu soup. You must order the spicy barbecue pork! We started out the meal with their Tofu Hotpot...this was a very pleasant surprise! To top off all the barbecue, the owner Richard, decided to give us a cheesecake and green tea ice cream dessert, for free! If my friends werent hooked before, they are now!If youve spent your time only going to AYCE Korean BBQ place, try this place and youll swear youve never tasted what good Korean barbecue really is supposed to taste like. This is the real deal. They have very reasonable prices and a great place for conversation. We ended up staying until they closed. Not once did they pressure us to leave, directly or indirectly.P.S. This is the talk of the town Korean BBQ family diner for home cooked Korean Food. Once an establishment known for its article in the daily news of the granddaughter, Jennifer who had once grazed the kitchen with her grandma is now operated by some unknown people I wouldnt consider homely. I do miss the feel of Grandma Kims where Jennifer would be there asking my mom, dad, brother and I what we wanted to order. Of course we would order the marinated beef which is bulgogi. The best thing ever known to man-kind. We have had other dishes such as galbi which is marinated beef rib. The side dishes were always re-filled, the soup and rice were both delicious. That was in 2002. 12 years later, food is a bit dry... the side dishes have to be re-filled.. but the wait time is nearly long and you have to keep reminding the staff to refill the side dishes. The food takes a longer time to make and the staff will give you attitude because you want to refill side dishes, or you ask for more tea. I would be better at this, since I have worked at a Chinese Restaurant. Customer satisfaction and happiness comes first. You want a happy customer, not a disgruntled customer. You want them to return or give out referrals. Anyways, the thing that I have been craving the most is the korean cold noodle. The Korean cold noodle is a buckwheat noodle cooked in soup, and then cooled down with ice which in the end makes the noodle.. oh so tasty. i would recommend this dish. and like any other noodle with broth orders, u drink the soup. OMG I was in heaven... so grandma kims.. please work on the attitude and service.. i hope future customers wont experience what I have had.. recently.. BRING BACK JENNIFER!!!! and Grandma!!

Its hard to find a restaurant like this in this area, so I enjoy the food every time I come here. Its a bit overwhelming because there are so many menus, but its also a lot of fun trying new menu items every time I come. In particular, the crispy seafood and green onion pancakes and kimchi pancakes that are usually eaten as appetizers are the best...^^
